It was the first time most of us had done a pottery class so we had zero knowledge, but Carol helps you every step of the way! This place is great! Worth getting off the highway, and if you live In Town you should not be going to Morgantown to get good coffee. It is little rally a hole in the wall, the entrance is between a restaurant and a boarded up building, you'd have no idea the amazing place inside. It has a bunch of table, plus some couches and larger chairs, books to read, cheese boards, and a couple of high top tables. We stopped in on a Saturday morning, and got some tea, cold brew coffee, and latte, plus a huge cinnamon bun and French toast muffin. Looking at the lunch menu we are going to come back to try lunch, because last weeks list looked amazing. Because we hit it in the morning I'll have to check in again about the beer and pottery aspect. This is the type of place I really would love to see succeed in Fairmont, they are doing a great job! read more

Customer service is excellent but the business model not so much. The food is good but not consistent, soup one week and nothing the next. The prices are extremely high and most important, the business model is confusing. Pottery advertisement on the outside and drivers don't know it's a coffee shop because the pottery outshines the coffee model. The signs show more interest in pottery classes but very little visibility to let you know it's a coffee shop. I was extremely disappointed that the business concept is confusing, could be a good thing if patrons knew it's not just a pottery shop but a coffee cafe. To me the two are opposites. read more

Just try it out--good food, good coffee, good beer, good atmosphere, nice employees. This place is good to study at, to get breakfast, lunch, beers with a couple of friends, or coffee dates. There are a lot of books and board games to entertain yourself with, if you aren't already signed up for a pottery class in the room adjacent to them! Wonderful place all around. I can't begin to describe how surprised and delighted I was when I popped into this little café for a latte. After living in Asheville, NC and experiencing the amazing cafés, restaurants and phenomenal dining, it can be very disappointing and frustrating to locate anything remotely close in Fairmont, WV. Fast food disgusts me! This little gem was an unexpected pleasant surprise! The latte was excellent, the atmosphere was very relaxed and laid back and the pottery is just an added bonus. Being from Fairmont and visiting every year since I moved away over 15 years ago...I have seen this place and really wanted to drop it....what a great gem in town. Great atmosphere! Spent a week in this tiny town dealing with some very unpleasant (ex)-family business... but finding this cafe was a bright spot of happiness for me. Great coffee drinks, awesome food, and a strong wifi connection to the civilized world. I didn't have time to throw any pots but it looks like a great set-up. They even have local art for sale -- overall a great community-centered vibe. My lying soulless harpy (also the Greek root of the word herpes, ironically, as it's one of the few things you could say she ever gave me) of an ex-wife probably frequents this joint and derives gastronomical pleasure from it. But please don't let that stop you from giving it a try. Should you encounter her, just mention that you know her ex and she'll vanish in a desperate cloud of shame, leaving your experience otherwise unsullied by anything negative. I can say with certainty that I will never ever return to the town of Fairmont, now that my ugly business is complete. But I am truly glad to see such a hip little spot in this sleepy college town. Fairmont needs this place, and if you are in Fairmont, so do you. read more

In regards to the coffee, decaf espresso options should be available at a coffee bar. There are many smaller coffee shops that have this option available. For the pottery- the experience creating would be the best part of the experience. It took over 6 weeks for my piece to be completed. I called I around week 4/5, and was told to not call again, I would be called when it was done. Flash forward 2 more weeks and to when I called again- I was told the pieces had been done for a about 5 days and asked if I had been called yet- obviously I was not. It was a good thing I called or I would be waiting for even longer. Best part about the finishing process was when I went to pick up and I was told one item was not there. Nothing like wasting time and money to not have a finished product- thanks for the great time Joe N Throw. I would save your money and go to a more organized establishment for a better experience. read more

Really cool place. The Americano was delicious! And I had a banana nut muffin that was super yummy. My fiancé and his friend had a latte and a mocha and they loved them Also. They also had two sandwiches which sounded very weird on the menu mostly because of all the jam, but they were very good! It was a very chill place, kind of like a bar kind of like a coffee house. Very cool place. I liked the vibe and the atmosphere a lot. There were a couple things I wasn't crazy about though. I have been a few times. There are zero decaf options when it comes to coffee. Also, every time I've been there, there have been no milk alternatives. I love checking out coffee places to try out the espresso. I got an Americano and I wasn't crazy about the espresso. I do like the coffee done as a pourover though. In conclusion, cool place to try out and hang. But if your an avid coffee person, don't have super high expectations for great coffee. read more

I'll start by saying that the coffee and the atmosphere on the cafe side are wonderful. But I was really underwhelmed by the pottery class I took. I met a friend there to make art and talk....but Carol interrupted and overtook every single sentence we tried to say to each other. Eventually we decided to give up and talk to each other afterward. Additionally, she had very specific ideas about how our own pieces were supposed to look....she even insisted on upcharging me for a glaze that I didn't want and didn't ask for, because that's "how it's supposed to look." The idea of a walk in pottery class is great but I was really disappointed by the end. read more

During the school year I would go here and do my homework. This place is such a great place to go with friends or do homework/work or enjoy a cup of coffee or a beer! Also, last Tuesday I went for taco Tuesday and I absolutely loved my tacos. They were chicken tacos & they have new specials each week for each day of the week. They post the specials on Instagram at the beginning of each week. 4 stars because the staff is never very friendly. read more

Great place to grab a beer! The prices on coffee and pastries are quite upscale, but the locally brewed pints are very reasonable considering their quality. There is a lot of great art in the joint as well, both in the form of photography and paintings. The adjoining section of the building houses a pottery workshop, and the products of this workshop are available for sale in the coffee shop. This is a nice atmosphere and it is very clean. There is a simple menu of sandwiches, most of which have jam on them in creative combinations. Peach jam with roast beef, for example. However, in my experience the sandwich fillings are meager at the nearly $10 price point. Also, if the bread is supposed to be toasted, it needs to be warm and toasted longer, otherwise, it seems like bread from an open bag that has gotten dried out. In an uncrowded (less than 8 people) dining area, it took 15 minutes to get a cup of black coffee--no special pour-over, etc. It took as long to get one beer. Add another 10 minutes, for 25 total minutes, to get the sandwiches. I want this place to succeed. It is great that we have it here. I want to love it. However, service times need improved and a few more items on the menu, even a special a day, would be great. read more

What a great little gem! We were visiting family and had a difficult time finding anything remotely healthy in Fairmont. We initially went in to use their wifi, but were pleasantly surprised to find a great little cafe. The teas and coffees were delicious. We didn't try the beers or pastries, but they all looked wonderful. The attached pottery portion of the cafe looked intriguing, but we didn't have time to take a class. They also had some live music with singer songwriters when we were there another time. What a great vibe in a cool place. This was just a great place that you'd expect in a bigger city or college town like Morgantown, not tiny little Fairmont. Please give them your business. read more

Best coffee you will find around this area. They also have the best beer selection in Fairmont. Employees are always friendly and ready to get you what you need. I've never had to wait or try and grab someones attention for another drink. If you can make it during lunch hours be sure to check out the special because they are always great. read more
