Food and Service!!! On travel for work so needed an unwinding time and this pub did the trick. Of course I had the Irish food as well.

My friends dropped into town so we had lunch here at the Pub (as a local this is my favorite place to eat). When we entered they were enchanted ;) The menu and drinks took us a great deal of time to review and exclaim over! They decided on an Irish Reuben, Cobb Salad and I got the Jameson chicken breast. The waitress was friendly and help my friends decide! While we waited, a few Irish jigs came on and they embraced the atmosphere! The food arrived hot, aromatic and just plain delicious! I just love this place and the food is truly special. Just remember fish & chips (are fish and french fries) ;) Stop in if you are in the area!

Staying with a friend this weekend and we decided to visit this place for a quick lunch! The inside is very nice and decorated with Irish decor. We ordered a crab dip to split and it was amazing! I would recommend a stop here for sure.

If you're going to change your hours to help out your staff, awesome. But change the message on your answering system and update Yelp and your website. Not impressed to drive 45 minutes just to find you closed.

My sister and I stopped in after a day of shopping and were so glad we chose this place. The food was delicious, and of course you can't go to an Irish pub and not get an Irish coffee! Our waitress Odessa was extremely nice and helpful & checked on us quite often. We live about an hour away but will definitely make another trip just to go here

There were televisions playing different channels behind the bar. The beer selection is good, with most mainstream beers on tap along with some Irish and craft beers, including Bell's Two Hearted Ale. It's a pretty dark place, as you expect from an Irish pub. I came in at about 5:00 on a Friday afternoon. I was the only patron and no one else came in while I was there. I'm not sure why it was so quiet--maybe this is more of a late night spot. I was offered a pub menu with a few limited selections. I don't know if they have a bigger menu at other times of the day. I got fish and chips, which was pretty good and a fairly large portion for $10. I thought their TV selection was a little unusual. They were playing an episode of South Park with the volume very loud. I asked that it be turned down and the friendly bartender readily complied.

It was the best place I ate on my weeklong trip in August, and it was once again the best place I ate on my ski trip this past weekend. A lot of pubs have burgers, fries, a few sandwiches, that sort of thing. It gets repetitive. O'Donnell's has that, but really knocks it out of the park with their main courses. You get the pub atmosphere, and good hearty food, but so much more variety than most places, and it's all delicious. Perhaps most impressive of all, they rotate in a variety of specials, and those are really good too. Their kitchen staff is versatile and skilled. The first time I went, I had a grouper special, with rice and vegetables, all cooked really nicely, not dry at all, and well flavored. Dessert was chocolate Guiness cake with Bailey's frosting, which was as good as it sounds. A few days later, I got the blackened chicken alfredo. Although not quite as gobsmackingly impressive as what I had the first time, it was still a really solid pasta dish. Five months later, I was back, and went with another special, the Berkshire pork chop, with homemade mashed potatoes as the side. Both were really good, but the mashed potatoes - best I've had in years. And carrot cake for dessert - not quite as unique as the Guiness cake, but another really good dessert. It also has a great atmosphere to dine in and really good service. Allison was working at least the first and third times I was there, still remembered me five months later, and was just as good at taking a phone-in order this weekend as the in-person ones earlier. They have their regulars who go there for the food and service, but also make newcomers welcome. Excellent staff. People around town recognize their food too. On Saturday, they were closing a bit early due to the snow, so I took my takeout up to Yough River Brewing (which welcomes outside food). At one point a man asked if my food was from O'Donnell's, and I said that it is, and a few minutes later I'm talking with his friend, the mayor, who loves O'Donnell's as well. And no wonder! This would be on my regular rotation if I lived nearby.

I was seated right away and ordered a happy hour glass of red wine. Since it was an Irish Pub, I had to try their Irish Potato Soup. The soup came out just hot enough and was topped with chives, bacon and cheese. It was a very good soup and packed with potato chunks. I ordered the McCarthy's Pub Steak, a 10 oz. strip loin, which was topped with rosemary compound butter, served with a side of heavenly mashed potatoes and green beans. The steak was delightful, and although slightly overcooked, it was still a very good steak. The Green beans were fresh and firm and cooked perfectly, and were a great accompaniment to the steak. On their beer menu, I noticed they carried a Canadian beer from Unibroue Brassery in Quebec, which I thought was really cool. Overall, great food, service and happy hour specials and of course Canadian Craft Beer too !

She brought our drinks out and took our food order as soon as we were ready. We ordered the cheesesteak eggrolls, a buffalo chicken cheesesteak, french onion soup, and boneless wings with their hottest sauce. After the order was in for a few mins, the waitress came out to tell us they were out of eggrolls. I was bummed because that's what I was most looking forward to. The other food came out in about 15 mins. My boyfriend loved the french onion soup and he said his boneless wings were actually very spicy. He has a high spicy tolerance and these truly had some heat. My buffalo chicken cheesesteak reminded me of home (Philly) a little. The roll was a bit too soft for my preference, but the chopped chicken and cooper sharp cheese were perfect. The ambiance was of your typical sports bar, but it was decorated well and they had a good bit of TVs available.

It's a bit confusing at first - you don't enter from the "front" of the house; rather, you head around to the back, just off the small parking lot under the balcony. You enter directly into the lovely stone walled bar area that has a decent number of dining tables. There's an upstairs that looks quite different. We - far & away - preferred the downstairs. Much better ambiance. The place was already humming at 5pm! We took the last open table (we had a reservation). Our server came to the table pretty quickly to welcome us, put down menus, and let us know that their draft beer system was on the fritz (what?!) - had been since the day prior. Ack! But they had a really good brown ale in cans from nearby Hazel Grove Brewing, which we had been wanting to try anyway. We ordered our meal pretty soon after, as the place got even busier. But that's when things got a bit harrier. The wait staff got more & more overwhelmed, and the kitchen was overwhelmed, too, clearly as it took 40+ mins for our appetizer to come. But it was good. The goat cheese toast w/ yummy homemade tomato jam. The sliced French bread it was on could've been toasted more - for sure - but the flavors all played really well together. Another 40 mins later, we got our meals, which was fine - we were enjoying each others' company. But we couldn't get our waters refilled to save our lives, & it took forever to get another round of beers. People at other tables were getting restless waiting, too. Three of the 4 of us ordered fish & chips for dinner. The fish was huge - beer battered haddock. The tartar sauce - homemade- was mild and flavorful. The hand cut fries were good, but my sisters-in-law substituted with sweet potato fries - and those were *really* good. My hubs got the bangers & mash which he said "wasn't bad." The peas were fresh and good, and he really liked the mashed potatoes, but sausage was just "meh," he said. No one came to clear our table as people finished their dishes. The 1st beer glasses sat on the table, as did our appetizer dish. As a group, we ordered bread pudding to share for dessert. To my shock, the server was actually going to cram it onto our table with ALL the dirty dinner/appetizer dishes still there! I said, "No no. We need to have these taken away." We started stacking dishes for him to remove. I mean, yuck! We were trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt on some of the other stuff - he was totally crushed under an avalanche of customers - but that was a bridge too far. As for the dessert - it was a huge serving with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream & a swirl of caramel on top. I thought it was a bit like eating a good apple pie, but my fam wasn't impressed at all (they all love bread pudding). One sis-in-law said it was way too firm and just seemed like the ingredients had been buzzed up and mashed together. BUT --- it was a good night, and we'll be back. I think we would opt for a week night, instead. Hopefully, it will be a bit less busy. And definitely, we want to try the patio. It looks really quaint with all the white twinkle lights. The parking situation is a bit tough for anyone with special needs. One sis got the one (I think) handicap spot near the door (the other small handful of spots were taken); the other sis had to park up a rather steep hill (she waited while we retrieved her car for her when we were done). There's a decent amount of street parking, but I don't know what that situation is like if you come after 5p/530p.
