What a fun little place! How buddy of mine recommended it so I knew I had to go check it out. We met there at noon on a Wednesday, and were able to get right in. All the servers were very nice. Gave us the rundown on any specials that they had and were just genuinely great people. For appetizers we got the pepper running rolls, which you absolutely must have! Make sure you get a side of marinara sauce because this stuff is off the chart. We ordered the meat sampler plate so we had a little bit of everything including ribs, brisket and pulled pork. It was absolutely delicious and the sauce was so complimentary to the meat. It did not overpower it in the least. The meat had a good amount of char to it so it was very delicious. Just the way I like barbecue. The bottom line? If I'm ever traveling this way again I will absolutely stop at this place! My waist line won't appreciate it, but I'm all in for those pepperoni rolls again! read more

Review for delivery only. BBQ delivery reviews are always a little tricky since it's of course not as hot and fresh upon delivery. That being said, the brisket sandwich was solid but unremarkable. I'm always a little leery of places that pre-sauce their meat rather than serving the sauce on the sides, makes me wonder if they're trying to make up for a lack of flavor. The brisket was good enough but the sauce was the dominant flavor. The toast went well with the bread and I can tell would be even better fresh. I had the beans with it and they were solid, no complaints. I also had a side salad and it was a large serving of lettuce, cucumber, tomato with a little onion and a good amount of cheese. I was pretty hungry after a long day and this meal while not the best BBQ I've ever had was good enough and filling. read more

Excellent service and food We found this place researching from our phones driving down the highway and decided to give it a try. The staff was really friendly and there is fun decor. The menu is really diverse. Although bbq was their specialty they also had seafood, smash burgers and homemade root beer. We tried the pbj burger, brisket sandwich and pulled pork wrap. I had an incredible meal here! The food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. The ribs were amazing--perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. I also have to rave about the biscuits; they had that perfect contrast of being nice and crispy on the outside while remaining incredibly moist on the inside. We tried the whiskey butter, which was definitely something different, but it was so good! To top it all off, the fresh squished oranges were a total win--you can't beat that freshness. At first I was annoyed that the menu was completely different from the on-line menu, since I was looking forward to the breakfast burrito w/ green Chile sauce that I saw on-line. But I adjusted with a frittata that I had them put in a wrap, and got some hot sauce on the side. It was just tobasco, but it helped. Service was good, and the place had a good atmosphere. I hope this place breaks the curse of this spot because it was great. We tried the club skillet, apple pie waffle, an omelette frittata bowl, a frickin chicken wrap, and of course, the biscuits, which were amazing. WOW! I was driving by and decided to stop in for breakfast take-out. I went inside and was greeted quickly and my order taken. I waited in th eairy, bright restaurant with lots of TVs and spaces to sit. The waitresses were busy but smiling and interacting. My order arrived pretty quickly and I ate in my truck with my dog. We found the restaurant on Yelp. We were traveling from Maryland to Richwood for the Cherry River Festival.We were greeted as soon as we walked in. I ordered the waffle with apples. First of all, service was stellar and prompt, I ordered a brisket sandwich, iced tea and onion rings. It was a brisket sandwich: already sauced and served on something that looked like Texas toast. Serving size was okay. I'm not used to having brisket already sauced. I like applying my own sauce. Okay BBQ sauce, but the brisket tasted kind of old and was dry, despite the sauce. My gut proved later that the brisket was probably past its prime. Brisket is one of my benchmarks of a BBQ joint. This brisket should have stayed benched. read more

I had Veggie Florentine Eggs Benedict. The poached eggs were prepared perfectly. The rest of the dish was good but not spectacular. The service was outstanding and the casual ambiance was good. Liked the decor, but was small...service was slow which was shocking as there were only maybe 3 other tables...we were there for lunch on a Wednesday...thought prices were high and I did not care for the food AT ALL. Hubby thought his smash burger was ok as well as the onion rings but did not care for the pork belly. I had the lobster roll ( the warm one- can't remember name) and it was very little lobster and a lot of greasiness that had no flavor. Waiter never checked to see if we like our food or drinks. I had a berry mimosa which was very artificial tasting. We also had the lobster bisque soup which was room temp and again, very little lobster. Would probably not go back :( read more

The menu was impressive with a variety of options and I wish I would've been told we could order breakfast because all the breakfast items sounded delicious. However, I ordered the Nashville fried chicken sandwich and it was not crispy or Nashville flavored (just taste like franks hot sauce). My husband tried the lobster bisque as well as the WV hotdog that came with tater tots. His meal wasn't the best either. We do plan to try this place again because the service was GREAT and we loved all the TVs to watch games on. This was our second try at Whiskey Biscuit. My husband got a smash burger with barbequed pork. He said it was just, "Ok." I got the $25 lobster roll. DO NOT BOTHER. What I ordered was a warm Maine- style roll with garlic butter. What I got was a warm langostino salad, New England style, (which should be cold with mayo), with celery, onions, and garlic "butter." I don't think anyone in the kitchen knows the difference between New England and Maine styles because it was a mash up of the two. Aside from the fact that it wasn't lobster, it was tough and flavorless. It also looked like some flaked canned crab found its way into the mix. Trust me, no one is busy steaming and chopping lobster here. After I mentioned that my lobster roll wasn't lobster, they took $10 off the price. read more

She barely looked over her shoulder and acted annoyed that we bothered her so we just went and sat down. She brought our menus and then just left. The place wasn't busy. Server came back and we ordered drinks. Our food was terrible. We ordered the bbq pork sandwiches with fries and tots. Husband wanted lobster but you were out of it even though that is what you are advertising with all the signs outside your restaurant. Also no soda due to machine not working. Who wants water with your meal. The fries and tots tasted like they came out of a freezer bag. The pork was super greasy with fat and barely any taste. Not much bbq sauce either. The bun was nothing special. We were not even half done with our meal when the server brought our check. We were going to try dessert but she didn't even ask. She never came back to see if we needed anything or refills etc. We wished we had not tried this place. Loud TV's blaring that you could barely hear the person sitting across from you. Unfortunately it was our first time but we will not be back. We do no recommend this restaurant. If the service had been better perhaps we would try it again but customer service is lacking in this restaurant. As a bar owner visiting this establishment I am appalled!! Service was terrible.. customers were not greeted, customers got up and refilled their own drinks, staff didn't answer the phone as it rang multiple times. Multiple (7 different groups)customers walked in and turned around. Tables not wiped down, dishes not pulled and staff telling incoming customers there was a small back up in the kitchen, and several customers walked out. My friend and I meet for lunch once a month and always try to pick a new place to eat. We'd both heard of Whiskey Biscuits so we decided to try it out. The exterior makes the place appear smaller than it proved to be. During our visit (11a-12:30p) there were about 14 diners and so the service was prompt. We each ordered the Classic smash burger, I got onion rings, my buddy got waffle fries. The orders were filled in under 10 minutes. The food was served in a small awkward rectangular wire basket--not all that conducive to eating. The burgers were on the smaller side--big enough, but not generous. The sides were also not so plentiful; however, we both agreed the food was good. With iced tea, our combined meals were approximately $32. I'm sure I'd visit again. The menu seems interesting enough to want to try several options. read more
