Great hot dogs and fries! Friendly service. A real, authentic diner experience. Highly recommended.

Today after his Endoscopy at Ruby Memorial we stopped in Clarksburg at Ritzy's Diner for hotdogs and fries! Its been in business for 90yrs. Its a cute little hole and the hot dogs are good!! Not great, But good! I do love the sauce but their weiners are lacking! I do love the wet bun buts not from steaming its from the brine water the weiners were in! You have a flat top! Why aren't they grilled to order?? Fries are great! Not a fan of the purple cabbage coleslaw slaw the color is a big turnoff!! I tasted too much vinegar!@ but I will give it a 3 out of 5 Loved the vintage decor and that you kept it original and old school! Very upset that 1 hot dog with chili mustard onions w slaw & kraut, 2 hot dogs w chili mustard onions and cheese, small fries, a fountain pop and one draft small 8oz glass cost me $29 w taxes! that's freaking sad!! Your special 2 dogs w Fries $8 w chili onion and mustard so by adding cheese to 2 that should have been $2 extra, one beer $3, one fountain soda $3 and one hotdog $2.50 then another $2 for the slaw plus Kraft totals $20.50 plus taxes so should have been about $23 not $29...I was over charged $6!!! Stolen money@@ you never gave me an itemed receipt...she holders how much Rick...you throw some numbers out and I paid for someone else's ticket too!! I'm not coming back! I've always loved Ritzy! It's a great spot that's been around forever and knows what they're doing. This is such a small town, regular spot for folks looking for something QUICK and inexpensive, but also a sit down restaurant in downtown Clarksburg. Food is great and reminds me of good diner food. A great spot to meet people for lunch or to just grab a quick meal at the bar. read more

The hot dogs here were just average to below average. The slaw didn't have much taste and the buns were soggy. Definitely better places to get hotdogs in the area. It was a cute little restaurant though. Staff were really kind. Seating for bigger guys was a tight fit!! read more

I'm gonna take a screen shot of this page and show it to God. All these three star reviews are just throwing rocks at the sun. You can't touch perfection! Maybe they don't know what a WV hot dog should taste like -- spicy chili and no beans or whatnot, just ground beef, chopped onions and mustard. Coleslaw is not uncommon, and I don't have a map of the state that shows who does it. I always thought it was a Pittsburgh thing brought in with the bootleggers, but it's popular in Charleston and Huntington. I would recommend having at least one dog without it to experience the deliciousness of the chili in its modest glory. Add extra cayenne from the shaker on the table, if you like a little more heat. After you eat at Ritzy Lunch, drive down 4th Street over the little bridge to Glen Elk and grab a bag of Tomaro's Bakery pepperoni rolls for the road. They will tide you over for your drive. read more

And you will eat some of the best hot dogs and cheeseburgers of your life here. Welcome to Ritzy Lunch, y'all. You can get things other than cheeseburgers and hot dogs here, including the uniquely West Virginian pepperoni roll. Why, though? You can get the definitive pepperoni roll at Tomaro's, five blocks away, and other incredible Italian food at Julio's cross-town. If you come to Ritzy, you come for either of two things--a chili-slaw dog or a Giovanni. The chili-slaw dog. Ah. A porky little dog nestled inside a perfectly steamed white bun, covered in nearing-chili-spiced ground beef and carrot-heavy cole slaw. Three or four can easily be scarfed as a meal. Then there's the Giovanni--a cheeseburger topped with a pepper-tomato sauce between two slices of grilled garlic Texas toast. The one I ate in 1994 was the same as the one I ate in 2015--delicious. With food, the best thing is NOT changing. It's not sparkling or trendy, but if you're going up I-79 take the Clarksburg exit and travel five miles west for an awesome eating experience. NOTE--I got my husband here for the first time in November and he's STILL talking about the chili-slaw dog. read more

Can't beat these hot dogs!! This place takes me back to the way classic hot dog joints are in the movies! It is so old school its awesome, the interior looks like it was designed in the 50's and has been well maintained and kept clean. The food is greasy and prob horribly unhealthy but my, my. I guess I am not a hippie for a reason. Cant beat it. Also they do a bike night during the warm months that is an awesome atmosphere. read more

We wandered in here on one snowy January day for chili dogs and were not disappointed. As far as cheap chili dogs go, these were some of the best I'd had in a while. I'm nowhere near Ritzy now - but if I were a Clarksburg native I could see going here every once in a while. read more

Best hotdogs around and great atmosphere. Although they are known for their hotdogs, my favorite is the grilled cheese with hot peppers.

This place is awesome!!! From the outside it may not look like much, but as soon as you open the door you can tell from the sights and sounds and smells that this is a great place to eat! It has that old diner-type design (booths down one side & bar/counter down the other), locals & out-of-towners alike talking & laughing, and those amazing scents that you know the food's going to be incredible! I stopped in there yesterday (as I try to every time I'm in town) & had their Italian Sausage Steak Hoagie. Not knowing what it was, but being a lover of good Italian sausage, I decided to give it a try. I can't give this incredible sandwich enough stars! The sausage (which I later found was made in a nearby packing plant) was delicious, with just the right amount of seasonings & peppers & onions. The roll was crispy/crunchy on the outside & fluffy on the inside. They topped it with mozzarella & then put it under the broiler so the cheese melted & browned perfectly. It wasn't until I was paying that I found out the sandwich was a new menu item & I was the first customer to order it - from the way they did it, you'd have thought they'd been making it for decades! If you're in town, you HAVE to stop in & experience this place!!! read more

Despite the creepy looking men that seemingly always occupy the bench out front, red Solo cups filled with beer in their grasp and leering uneasily as you walk past, once you get inside, the food is pretty good. It's of course a hot dog joint primarily, and I'd stick to their hot dogs. I once ordered a fish sandwich and somehow received a burnt fried chicken sandwich. But the hot dogs and fries are nice. read more

if u can get passed all the rude old men that sit outside the place and run there mouths, its got pretty good food. but like i said, the old people sitting out the front door and all the prostitutes that are out front selling themselves ruin the whole dining experience read more
