We stumbled upon this place while just looking for something new. I'm very glad we did!! We've always had great service & never had anything that I didn't like. Great menu, great portions. Lots of seating, there's also outdoor seating but I've never been out there. Bar area can get a little loud, but that happens to be the only place I've sat so I can't speak for the rest of the seating. I would definitely recommend. read more

Fairmont location: bad bad bad. I used to dream of their raspberry pecan chicken salad. I ordered it today and they brought me out a salad that was clearly premade with the intention of being a chef salad, that they then just added dry chicken, blue cheese and pecans too. It had random ingredients like tomatoes and mozzarella cheese on it, which I can't eat. They used to make their own vinaigrette and now it's bottled. It was gross. My husband ordered the Italian hoagie and the Italian wrap came out. We communicated this with our waitress who politely said sorry, but never involved a manager and barely came back to check on us. She then gave us a $70 bill for food I could've made easily at home, and food we did not order. Will not go back. read more

I was watching the News and saw where you could send your information to join their Free Birthday Email group so I did. I was so happy to get my email about a Free Birthday Entree and Tony & I went there for a nice Birthday Luncheon. It was our first time there and we were seated and greeted immediately. We were seated near the back of restaurant near the doorway to the outside Beer Garden. Tony ordered a Budweiser Light Draft and I went with Iced Tea Half cut with Lemon and Lime. They had a Wonderful domestic draft special of only $1.50 for small and $3 for large so of course he had to go big!!! He chose the Well Down Cheeseburger with Lettuce, Tomato and onion with some pickles on side with Onion Rings $3 up charge and I went with Steak & Cheese Hoagie with onions, mushrooms and peppers with hand cut fries another $1.50 upcharge!!! Come on' fries should have been a given without a upcharge!!! She never came to ask me if I needed a drink refill! I had to ask another employee for A1 Sauce for my Steak Sandwich... I left her a 15% tip but I almost didn't because that bothers me when they don't come back and when I have to get help from someone else!!!! This review is for the Fairmont location. Where do I start? First I wanted a cider. A 16 oz mug would do as that is the size everyone else I was with had that size. If you are trying to up sale, ask. Don't assume a guest wants a supersize beverage. Next, when I cashed out, I was blindsided to see that a cider was over $10. When I looked further, there was a cover charge added to the check. I don't have an issue with there being a cover charge to pay the band. I DO have an issue with the lack of transparency and consistency. I DO have an issue with not being any signage that there was a cover and it was snuck in on my tab. If I didn't get a drink, the band would not have received that cover. I do have an issue that a few other people in my group were not charged the cover. I do have an issue that one person in our group purchased drinks for 2 people and there was only a charge for the 2 drinks, not 2 drinks and 2 covers. Seems shady. I'm just curious, was that $5 dollars really for the band? If that is the case the band is getting shafted because I don't know anyone else in a group of 15 or 20 that paid it. If they only charged me, to stack in the tips, that isn't showing much integrity. read more

Ordered takeout for the fam tonight. First time diners so we got several things to share. Walked in for the order and it wasn't quite ready but the serving staff was all super friendly and communicated with me when it would be finished. Best wings in the area! We will def be getting those again. Also, the tips n bleu app was delicious. Pleasantly surprised to have this place just down the street. Really enjoyed our meal!! Was dubious based on the reviews. My folks enjoyed their burgers, my Caesar salad was perfect. Agree that some of the chips are floppy, not crispy, but the crispy ones are delicious. Our server- wish I knew her name- was a delight, super friendly, helpful. Fairmont Location. I have been here before and I couldn't remember if it was good. I don't remember it being bad until..... I stopped in around 6:00 pm, it was really packed. Music blasting. I saw one seat at the bar and asked if anybody was sitting there. The guy next to me was just getting ready to leave. Which gave us at the bar a little room. There I sat while the bartender completely ignored me. She was actually washing glasses in front of me and never asked if I wanted a beer. After 10 minutes of waiting I ask can I get a beer! She said oh, I thought you were the same guy that was sitting there. I told her I didn't look like that guy at all. Shows you how much she was paying attention. I grabbed a beer and was considering leaving cause I was pissed. She gave me a menu, plus by this time I didn't want to travel to another restaurant in the area. I finished my beer, ordered another beer and a build your own burger. I should have left! I waited over a half an hour for a burger! It was absolutely absurd! About 20 minutes into waiting I asked where is my food? She said the kitchen is backed up. I thought why the fuck didn't you tell me that earlier??? Burger finally came out. It was just ok. It was greasy and the fries were greasy. Then she said here are some napkins, they were the small bar napkins. I thought finish this and get the hell outta here. Bartender was a joke! After an initial visit and disappointment (Colossal Cod), I recently returned to Brickside in Bridgeport,WV and tried their Barnyard Burger. I was very much pleased by my selection. It's a hefty burger (8oz.) with bacon, the cheese of your choice, and an egg. If desired, I wasn't, you can add additional toppings. It was flavorful, filling, and satisfying--with fries, a good meal to take the edge off a few beers. My single complaint/disappointment was that I ordered my egg over medium--I like a little runny yolk, but it was hard fried. However, it wasn't a big issue and didn't detract from my enjoyment. As is ALWAYS the case, the staff there is friendly, timely, and attentive (I applaud them.) P.S. whoever posted the menu on Yelp did not provide the entire menu. This is a dive bar off the highway you would pass right on by if you weren't looking for it. And that's such a good thing. The action is mostly on the patio. That's where you'll find the (remarkably cute) bartenders pulling draughts and pouring shots, and at the end of the bar you get the best view of the two TVs so you can see and hear the games they have on. The beers are poured tall, and served cold. With a selection that is respectable in comparison to any big craft beer-snob bar in Los Angeles. (But I wont Father's Office any names here). Servers are friendly and will serve you up a sample of beer if you are curious about the taste. I ordered the wings because I'm a fat guy who orders wings with beer because that's how life should be. I got the 14 wings in the cajun gold rush sauce. Its sweet not hot. But just a teeny but of BAM! in it. The wings are ok, and taste better after a few tall beers (dont get uppity on me, ALL wings taste better after a few beers). The wings are meaty but a little over sauced so you do lose some of that beautiful crispified chicken wing skin goodness if you dont eat fast. It has been about a year since my last below average experience at this place. I ordered the basic regular burger with fries. The fries was room temperature greasy and soggy. The medium burger was over cooked. The bun was way too big and tasted stale. It crumbled as I ate. Therevwas very thick pieced of onion and tomato that made the burger impossible to hold and bite into. Overall, not good. The exterior has been updated but the inside is still dark. Staff was pleasant and adiquite. I will try again next year to see if the good quality improves. But for now it is still below average. Maybe other entrees are better but if you can't do a good burger I doubt anything else is that great either. read more

While in town for work and staying across the street, Brickside is walkable - which is great! Don't judge the place by the exterior. Pleasantly appointed interior with appropriately spaced tables, a really cool outside space with beer garden feel. The menu is what you would expect from a bar and grille. Burgers, Pizza, Sandwiches and a large variety of appetizers. Post COVID the website has a warning on every page that they are understaffed, your wait may be long and please tip. I immediately felt for the staff, which for my group, was extremely pleasing and efficient. Yes, they were busy. But our server Jake G. was on top of everything with a smile! A good place for everyone to find something to eat, have a great cocktail (PS: Awesome beer variety) and enjoy the evening.
