My neighborhood ladies had an afternoon out so we met at The Caboose. They saved us the back room and it was perfect. We arrived slowly but the waitress was exceptional and got our drink orders. Once everyone arrived and had their drinks, the waitress took our orders - 18 of us. The back room gave us privacy to enjoy laughs and stories. The food arrived very quickly for such a large party - and all 18 of us were eating at the same time! My chicken salad was very tasty and I enjoyed their homemade chips. Exceptional! First of all, my b/f and I ended up here because the waitress at Minard's down the road was so rude to us about sitting outside. We came here and when we walked in, the bartender was friendly. We asked to sit outside and it was closed, but they opened it for us. We received such attentive service even though we sat in an inconvenient section for the staff. Our waitress was kind and accommodating. The food was yummy - especially the crab dip! It was a gorgeous day outside and the outside area was very peaceful. This review is really on the manager of The Caboose. Arrived at 6:40 on a busy Friday night, but there were open tables. The sign said to seat ourselves, so our party of four did. A waitperson told me someone would be with us soon. Soon is relative in Clarksburg. 35 minutes later we ordered drinks and two appetizers, wings and two salads. Three tables that came in after us already had their entrees by then. At 7:40 the buffalo wings came -- they had forgotten the salads -- and the wings had no sauce on them. We were hungry, so just asked for a bottle of Franks and put it on the wings. They took our food order. Salads came at 8:00. Meanwhile I noticed that every server looked freaked out and stressed. It looked like about one server to every twenty customers. The food came at 8:05 Food was decent. Not great. Not bad for bar food. They flipped two of the entrees and added a forth appetizer to the split bill. Not a good dining experience. Totally the fault of whoever was in charge. read more

First visit was for Lent and, while I'm not religious, I love seafood. They had a great menu that was fish and seafood based. In addition, the atmosphere is romantic and lovely. Great service, great food, great people. I have to admit it was far more upscale than it looks like from the outside. Inside it's lovely! This place is owned by a couple who retired and decided to start this dream. It is a low key family style place with a cute bar area for those needing a tv and a nice drink. We ordered the mozzarella sticks and they were a perfect crunch and soft cheese. We had the fish sandwich which is Huge! The pasta Alfredo is so creamy and delicious. The steak hoagie has so much meat on it you can't finish. This place is a fun place for a good guaranteed meal and close to home to meet up with friends. read more

My new favorite Italian restaurant in the Clarksburg/Bridgeport area, surpassing Mia Margarita whose menu has become too limited, and drinks a little pricy. Caboose is doesn't look like much from the outside, but is nicely updated on the inside, and the food and service is tremendous. They have perhaps the best eggplant parm I've ever had, and even my cold Italian conduct sandwich was amazing. Prices are more than reasonable, this place is a hidden gem! read more

What a gem!! I came here for lunch with some friends Sunday afternoon. It's sooo cute inside, the lighting is on point, plenty of seating and lots of TVs. When we first walked in it was a little confusing on whether or not you sear yourself, you do, we eventually figured it out. We all ordered breakfast because that's really the best meal. Our food was really good. I ordered scrabbled eggs with cheese, mixed peppers, and some kind of sausage. They were light and fluffy, perfectly cooked. My friends with me ordered french toast. It looked delicious. The portions sizes were big and it was a great deal. If you're in the area and are looking for somewhere to eat, or a great atmosphere definitely check this place out!! read more

I wouldn't even give a star..due to what happened.. our family (my Husband, 3 boys under 4 years old, and myself) were eating take out from The Caboose. We got a order of crab dip as our appetizer. It wasn't warm so I needed to be heated up (not a huge deal but what was found later makes it one). We all got partially through the crab dip when I found a piece of PLASTIC in our dip. A piece large enough to be lodged into my children's throat and could cause choking and loss of air. Also, It being heated up the chemicals from the plastic is now in our food. My Husband went in to talk about our contaminated dip. The only solution they offered was to give us a new dip..we had to ask tooth and nail for them to be more careful and give us the $10 back. ($10 isn't why we went there we want them to be aware and care what wrongs are happening there) This is totally unacceptable and wrong. They could of KILLED my child if it was ingested. They did not CARE AT ALL read more

Stopped here for lunch on the way to snowshoe. It's a good halfway point from Columbus. The steak hoagie with mixed peppers was fantastic. The peppers really made it! Kids loved the meatballs and the cheese pizza. Staff was super accommodating for our little ones. Overall, a great local find! read more

This place is GOLD. Spacious inside with lovely bar dining area and atrium dining area, perfect subdued lighting to make it comfortable but bright enough to see everything. This was my first trip to The Caboose since it reopened. The remodel looks great! Very clean looking and brighter. Our server, Lindsay W. was awesome. Very friendly and prompt service. Great beer selection. Since I'm only visiting WV, I have to get a hoagie whenever I can, so I got a steak hoagie. The bread was soft on the inside and slightly crusty on the outside. Huge gobs of cheese and filled with steak. VERY good. It came with chips. I think they were just ordinary, out of the bag chips, I thought it'd be homemade chips, but that's okay. This is a staple back in Clarksburg. It has new ownership from when I was younger but I am happy that they still have the staples, the spahoogie and the Giovanni. I got the Giovanni with mixed peppers and it was really good! The meal was also very reasonable priced and very filling! The only reason that I took away a star was that the service left a little something to be desired. I felt the employee knew people at some of the others tables, which caused her to not give my table much attention. read more

After 2 years of living in Clarksburg, I finally tried Caboose. We ordered hot crab dip. I didn't it to be good but it surprised me. Real crab!! Im usually really picky with my seafood. I have to admit they did it good. We ordered pasta because it was pasta 2nd half off on Monday. I have to be honest. I don't really know much about pasta so I can't tell if they were good or not. I would say overall, food and atmosphere, I like it. read more

I love the Caprese dip. This is the second time I've had it. Tonight I tried the grilled chicken salad. It was really good. The chicken is moist, tender and flavorful. It comes with a handful of steak fries. The boyfriend had the steak hoagie and said it was really good. The place was packed, but service was quick. This is a great addition to Clarksburg. read more

We were pretty disappointed with this restaurant. It was listed as an Italian restaurant but it was basically a sports bar. The place is pretty dingy. We were seated in a solarium type room and the glass ceiling was really dirty or aged. Has some character but it just felt like it needed a makeover or a good scrubbing. The tablecloths were heavy vinyl and felt a bit sticky. There were TVs on in multiple areas, not a great dining experience. Wait staff were friendly. Both our pasta meals weren't hot. Less than lukewarm actually. Menu said bread came with the meal but when we didn't get any we asked. He said oh, you want some bread? Well, yes. He brought some white sliced bread. Not wonder bread but not much better. We had wine that seemed to have been from a bottle that was opened for a while, or maybe it just wasn't great wine. There was a special pasta price, half price one order I think. So it was a cheap meal at least. This place is so hit and miss. I've only ever had the meatball hoagie. Some days it's fantastic and some days it's just okay. There's usually a pretty long wait for the food as well, which I definitely don't mind when the food is on point. The overall atmosphere is nice and I've always had good service! read more

Excellent food, great atmosphere. We met here for lunch as a surprise lunch for a family members. When we arrived, they were already for us. Our waitresses Lindsey and Abby were excellent, polite, friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic, we all ordered something different. Ordered steak fries and "fried" wings to go. What a HUGE disappointment. Let's start by declaring that NONE of the food had any seasoning - not even salt. Ketchup couldn't salvage the blandness of the fries. The menu states 6 wings - not so, they are 6 wing PIECES, in all equivalent to 3 wings - pretty expensive at $6 (or $2 per piece.) At this restaurant it seems that fried is simply defined as taking a raw wing piece and dunking it in hot oil with no seasoning. Granted there is a choice of many dips, however, a wing PIECE should be able to stand on its own without a dip. Would anyone want a hotdog or burger which had to depend on the toppings to give it flavor and not the meat itself? The same goes for a wing. In my case I did not want a dip sauce. Whoever wrote the menu at the Caboose has a very lively imagination. I ordered a Caboose burger which was described as " freshly ground flank steak and brisket." What I received was a pre-formed, previously frozen, tasteless patty. My husband had the Delmonico special. The steak was tasteless, devoid of seasoning, and it had clearly been frozen at some point. The roasted red potatoes were so underdone they were crunchy. Nothin' special about that. The beer was good and the wings were fine, but also previously frozen. Makes me wonder what they serve that doesn't arrive frozen. read more

My wife and I had dinner last night for our 35th wedding anniversary. The house salads with home made Italian dressing were great. The wife had the Penne Alfredo. It was creamy with a light garlic taste. Very good. I had the chicken hoagie with hot peppers, mushrooms, onions, and cheese. It too was very good. Peppers were not extremely hot, good flavor. Large portions. Great service. Prices are very reasonable. read more
