But the staff always substitutes my favorite angel hair pasta to my delight. Fresh bread and house dressing on a simple salad rounds out a perfect meal. So good! I worked there growing up and loved it! The owner is wonderful! He is hands on, intentional with interacting and there every time I have been. It is a welcoming involvement and feels quiet but is such an exciting restaurant to go to for me anyway. We came here for dinner with another couple. We were all optimistic until the food arrived. Clearly, someone is in the back opening packages from the frozen section at Kroger, not impressed. The service, however, was great! The ambiance, well, it's a supper club, to be expected...not worth the cost. A travel basketball team with 11 12 year olds calls for a boat load of pizza. I called on Thursday for a Saturday pick up order, the staff suggested 9 pizzas, a pan of rigatoni, meatballs and a salad. The kids literally eat every single bite! From the phone call for the order to the minute they loaded the car they were amazing! In fact when I walked In they had already nicked named me "the big order". I must say that was a first. I usually get called other names. But not today!!! Thank you to the girls at Twin Oaks for all you did for our boys today. We will definitely be back. We came here on a Wed around 6pm, and it wasn't crowded at all. We were greeted and told to seat ourselves. I have read the reviews and I had to see for myself. First time here, and just walking in smells delicious. Made me crave pizza. I ordered a pepperoni hoagie w/ fries, and the hubby ordered a sausage and pepper hoagie w/fries for there, and we ordered a pizza with pepperoni and sausage to go. My hoagie was a little bland, but I guess I was expecting sauce to be on it as well. I loved the bread. Hubby was sweating from his hot sausage. The fries are fresh cut, just the way I like. I'm not a fan of frozen fries when fresh are available. Our waitress was very attentive and polite. I believe it was Jacquelyn? Prices are decent... around $8 for hoagies and $18 for our pizza. A great find for some homemade Italian food. Dining room is plain and simple, no frills. Emily our server was awesome!l She recommended, the house dressing on salads as was spot on! It was homemade and perfect. We had spaghetti and meatballs, chicken Parmesan, and a sausage and meatball plate. Everything was delicious and obviously house made! Servings were large and I doubted we would finish, but it was too good not to. We didn't have room for dessert, but if they are as good as the meals, they are a good bet. Listen, if you grew up in the clarksburg/bridgeport area, then I don't have to tell you that this pizza is where it is at. I can remember being so jealous when friends would bring leftover pizza in their school lunches from here. I live way too far away now to have twin oaks on a regular basis but friends will even bring half baked ones to put in the oven when they come to visit. Now, if you didn't grow up on this pizza, you may not enjoy. My husband doesn't. But he does like their meatball hoagies. The Italian food isn't the best but I've certainly had way worse. And I adore the salad dressing. I try to stop in whenever I'm home. read more

Love the steak hoagie with sweet peppers. I don't think they should charge extra for the white cheese versus yellow cheese. They still don't have their dining room open since the virus breakout so, I will call in my order and pick it up. I have been going to Twin Oaks since I was a child, we would stop there and have pizza when driving through Bridgeport/Clarksburg. I do not like their pizza today, it's different from what I grew up eating. The last three times of getting to go orders something has been wrong each time. Either putting the wrong peppers on the hoagie and marking the sandwiches incorrectly. I do hope they will reopen their dining room soon. read more

Ate here on 5/12/15. Desk clerk at our hotel recommended it. They have been in business since 1957. It appears to have the original decor with few updates. However, we were pleasantly surprised with both the quality of the service & the food. I asked them to modify my order to accommodate my vegetarian diet which they did with no problem. Although the salad was iceberg lettuce & tomatoes, the lettuce was very fresh & crunchy. The entrees were large & delicious. Our server, Henrietta, was excellent. She knew just when to return to our table & was most efficient & courteous. The red wine was served chilled, but it was only $4.50 for a large glass. If you want to experience local color & a great meal, this is the place. read more

I have no idea how long this place has been in business - but I know it was open when I was in HS in the 80's. My taste buds have matured (but not my personality) and I like this place more than I did then. The steak sandwich is my go to choice. Italian peppers, real steak (you get get an actual Delmonico on the Compton) fresh roll. I like the meatballs and the Pizza is pretty good although the toppings are very much over priced. It is a family atmosphere that is not decorated old school, they just never changed anything. This is a great stop for a traveling family that doesn't want a chain. It is close to I79. read more

I grew up in Bridgeport in the 70s and 80s. I haven't lived there since 1989 nut Family is still there. On 01/24/2020 I was visiting. Dad asked where I would like to go for dinner. When in Bridgeport / Clarksburg, get Italian. He suggested our family's regular spots... Oliverio's and Minards, which are both ok. I wanted something less familiar and suddenly remembered as a kid ordering pizza from Twin Oaks and I loved it, and I remembered that they had a full menu. Couldn't remember what they served but I suggested trying Twin Oaks for a change. After so many years I expected it to really show its age and didn't expect much for food quality. Dad also said many years ago he had a bad experience with their service, which is why he hadn't been there in decades either. Boy were we both surprised on every level! The food was very delicious, the building inside was pristine clean... I could have never guessed food had been cooked and served there for over 50 years. And the service? I am not exaggerating when I say the young grad student lady who served us must have had the most beautiful and genuine smile I have ever seen, she was completely engaged, very helpful, and absolutely top notch. What's more, there were 2 other waitresses working other tables and they were very much like her. For food: Dad and I both couldn't decide between lasagna and Italian Sausage so we got both with 2 extra plates and split them wow! Absolutely delicious, and I am picky about Italian, especially sausage. It was definitely good and spicy which I loved. The lasagna was equally amazing. For dessert we had Carmel apple pie with ice cream. Scrumptious! So glad I remembered and suggested Twin Oaks. I will eat there again and aga in when in Bridgeport. My folks are from Clarksburg and we go to Twin Oaks every time we visit. The salad is simple but something about the Italian dressing makes it a must have. The crust on the pizza is crunchy and unique, my favorite toppings are sausage and sautéed peppers. The owners always come by to speak. One of my all time favorite restaurants! read more

You can't talk about food in Clarksburg/Bridgeport without mentioning the famous Twin Oaks Restaurant! Its a regional institution! Their main fare is American Italian food, and they are mildly famous for their hoagies, which is a toasted bun, with steak, onions, and a special cheese. They are a very small town shop and everyone who is in there knows everyone else. When my family comes back to West Virginia to visit, they always make a stop at Twin Oaks. Some of my aunts have been going there for hoagies since the 1950s! If you are looking for some home-cooked food, this is the place to get it! read more

My husband grew up in Clarksburg and we were visiting this past weekend and he said I had to try the pizza. We ordered half pepperoni and sausage and half cheese and I must say it was pretty darn good!! Not greasy and perfect amount of sauce. Hope to visit and eat in next time, we got carry out!!! I can't help but say that it is one of my favorite places to go. The pizza is always outstanding and love the hoagies too. The salads are always a great starter and when you put some pizza cheese on top it is to die for. They have done a lot of remodeling and seems there are a lot of great things in the mix coming up for this great family restaurant. If you are looking for the most authentic Italian place in the state... As it was National Noodle Day, we decided to go out for Italian. The hotel clerk recommended Twin Oaks. We were pleasantly greeted and advised to select a table. Our server was VERY efficient and personable. She answered all questions, joked back and forth, and kept a close eye on our drinks. A fresh cola or tea was delivered before the first glass was empty. The salad was iceberg lettuce and diced tomatoes. A ho hum salad in my opinion, but the veggies were fresh. The bread was fresh and seemed to be homemade. The Italian dressing was strong on the vinegar but very tasty. The lasagna and ravioli were quite good. The apple caramel cheese cake was delicious. I was visiting from Illinois and wanted some good Italian food. Our options were pretty limited since a lot of places closed for Father's Day. I got a hoagie and a salad. The house salad dressing was very, very, bland. The hoagie was okay. No complaints there. I ordered a glass of red wine. The waitress brought me a chilled mini bottle of Gallo. I'm no wine snob, but red wine should not be served as cold as a beer. Also, an Italian restaurant should have other options besides Gallo. That is the cheapest of the cheap. I would happily pay more for a better wine option. Our waitress was sweet, but kept coming by our table every five to ten minutes asking if we need anything. I appreciate that she was trying to be attentive, but it was overbearing. We were trying to have a conversation with our table of friends and she constantly interrupted. We just kept looking at each other like, "seriously? again!?" I know she meant well and hopefully she will get better with more experience. read more

1st visit at Twins Oaks with wife & friends, ordered cheese sticks & Spaghetti...both bland & rated below fair. Wife wasnt impressed at all. We told ourselves we were never going back but everyone talked about how great the pizza is ..so 6 months later we order a small pizza for takeout ($15 & some change, so this better be amazing for a small pizza). First bite & i spit it out...horrible...the bread was like biting into 3/4" cardboard, even the toppings were tasteless. My husband and I just recently moved to bridgeport from Pennsylvania where we have really great Italian food. This place was suggested by a coworker of my husbands who told him that the pizza here is the best. He was very wrong. This pizza was so bland. The crust looks like the Pillsbury kind, the cheese had no taste, the sauce is probably ragu, and the toppings (we got pepperoni and onion) were pathetic. We ordered a large and it was most restaurants regular size and here is the best part......it was $18.00. Twin oaks you suck. read more
