Craving a real WV hoagie? Then roll into this place Growing up here family that moved away and came for visits always wanted get pizza and hoagies from here. As a child I never really understood it,since we could get it anytime. But as I got older and moved away, and hoagies being something elsewhere I consider subs. I'd crave for a WV hoagie. So years later as adult and I go there. I understand why that when family came to visit they wanted it. After all these years its delish and your basic goods. And if like pizza its awesome as well. Hello childhood, goodbye skinny jeans. You'll be leaving full as manure barrel.

We came here on a Wed around 6pm, and it wasn't crowded at all. We were greeted and told to seat ourselves. I have read the reviews and I had to see for myself. First time here, and just walking in smells delicious. Made me crave pizza. I ordered a pepperoni hoagie w/ fries, and the hubby ordered a sausage and pepper hoagie w/fries for there, and we ordered a pizza with pepperoni and sausage to go. My hoagie was a little bland, but I guess I was expecting sauce to be on it as well. I loved the bread. Hubby was sweating from his hot sausage. The fries are fresh cut, just the way I like. I'm not a fan of frozen fries when fresh are available. Our waitress was very attentive and polite. I believe it was Jacquelyn? Prices are decent... around $8 for hoagies and $18 for our pizza. During dinner, we talked about how we would like to take the whole family here. We will definitely be coming back.

Food was tasteless and ambiance was severely lacking. This was not the Twin Oaks from my youth.

Thia place is iconic. Fantastic. Terrific. Give it a try. Try the sausage hoagie or the pizza. The pasta is also 10/10. Can't go wrong.

I was quite hesitant about trying this restaurant after reading some of the negative reviews,…read morehowever, I was looking for a non-fast food type of sit down homestyle meal. I went at 7 PM on a Friday night and the seated right away. The white staff was very friendly and took my drink order as soon as I sat down. They returned quickly with the bread basket and took my order for the homemade lasagna. The entrée came with a small side salad, which had a very tasty and simple house vinaigrette,, the only thing was that the salad was composed of just lettuce and tomato, no onions, no peppers no carrots no olives no cheese . It didn't take very long for the entrée to come out and even though the lasagna was not very thick as it usually is, it was quite tasty. The prices were quite fair with the entrée salad, bread and butter and soft drink coming to a total of $20 even including tax and tip. I would definitely come back here if I was in the area again as the food was very good it was very reasonably priced, and I had no issues with the service, even paying the bill was a breeze with a QR code on the receipt .

They've come a long way, and backslid. We were greeted by a very nice waitress who was also VERY new at the job. No one was shadowing her. I was with a group of four others, and our lone appetizer showed up promptly. Then the wheels fell off the bus. Three out of four of our entrees showed up. No salads. In the meantime, two other employees, one of them I presumed to be the MOD, were busy cleaning up after a large party, and using a sweeper to clean up under the table. Very noisy and disruptive. A broom would have worked just fine. I called over the man I presumed to be the MOD, and pointed out that our table mate had not received her entree, and we still had not gotten salads and bread. That was corrected. Our friend's entree had gummy, overcooked pasta, and a gummy Alfredo sauce. Clearly sat under a heat lamp for a while, and probably took a spin in the microwave. Anything with a red sauce was okay. The appetizer was delicious. Anything without a red sauce was not okay. It was pretty sad. In the past, I have enjoyed delicious meals at Minard's. Our post-Christmas family meals used to be epic. This was anything but. Why am I being so picky? I spent 15 years working front of the house, kitchen, and bar. Something is VERY wrong when the basics are completely ignored, and the customer suffers for it. Something is rotten at Minard's, and I feel that this place may go out of business before any of this is corrected.

I mistakenly thought that I would be going to a Mexican restaurant but, to the contrary, Julio's is a fine dining ($$$) Italian restaurant. The buffet lunch was made-from-scratch and excellent. It featured perfectly fried thick-and-gooey grilled cheese sandwiches; white pasta fagioli soup; chicken pastina soup with ditalini pasta; garlic toast; and spicy marinated peppers (which I put on my sandwich). I've had pasta and fagioli soup many times over the years but none as good as this -- obviously made from a traditional recipe from a real Italian cook! Some also enjoyed mimosas or aperol spritzes. The party host also purchased small bottles of Prosecco wine from the restaurant for us to take home as party favors. The ambiance was very comfortable in the back room for our group of about 30 persons, with three tables of about ten ladies each. The food was served along the counter of the bar area. A waitress took and delivered our drinks. There was a fireplace in the room but it was not lit. I hope to return one day for a special occasion to try their dinner menu.

To make matters worse, I watched as an older couple walked in and were seated and the staff took there drink order right away At that point, it was clear that my presence was being ignored entirely. I understand that restaurants get busy, but this felt like an intentional lack of service. If the staff prioritizes certain guests over others, they should be upfront about it. Needless to say, I took my business elsewhere and won't be returning. I hope management takes customer service seriously because no one should feel invisible when dining out.
