We were greeted right away by a friendly host. Although short staffed by waiters we were able to place our orders fast enough. Outdoor seating was already taken by hungry and thirsty people, but great indicator on a good place. Beers were Kiwi Herman and Vienna Lager which were spot thirst quenchers. Food choices, Mushroom Burger and Gibbies Burger. We passed on the Deep Fried Pepperoni Rolls but maybe next time we will have to try Food was tasty fries were cold but tasty read more

Spent a few hours here having some drinks and an order of pepperoni rolls. We knew they were a favorite based on the menu and the word of the bartender so we felt that we had to try them. I wasn't expecting much but they were SOOO GOOD. Several months later, we still bring them up in conversation. I would highly recommend. The gentleman behind the bar who took care of us was attentive and friendly. When my husband ordered a fancier cocktail the bartender was honest and said that it wasn't his specialty. We appreciated the honesty. After they discussed the ingredients a little further, he gave it a try and it was great! read more

Stopped here for the first time in years during a recent visit to Morgantown. I was there on a Tuesday, so it was pretty empty. Super divey old school spot, which is great. Service was great. I had the buffalo chicken wrap and it was delicious. read more

Went to the Tuesday open mic. Had fun, my husband performed. Lots of seating and a good atmosphere. I got the deep fried pepperoni roll, husband got wings, mom got turkey supreme and dad got the club and we shared a quesadilla. We were all happy with our food. There wasn't much table service (but they also warned us when we came in that they were short staffed for the day). There is plenty of space to sit. The only downside is the standard in the area - parking - there is street parking or there is a lot on each end of high street, read more

We had an excellent experience (8/8/26), best bartenders I've had in years and the drinks were delicious, thank you!!

The chicken parm sandwich is GREASY! I felt sick for half a day after eating it. The fries are too salty and soggy. Don't eat here

Myself and a friend went to Gibbies 5-1.. I had the Reuben, she had the BLT,and we also ordered Fried Mushrooms. Our server/bartender was Erik, very knowledgeable and also very personable. Our food came out within a very reasonable time..Both sandwiches were excellent,as were the mushrooms..I recommend going for the Brew Fries for the 2 buck upcharge, well worth it.When ya go,ask for Erik,Rachel,or Jess, you'll be well taken care of .. read more

Worst place you can go. Bad food. Bad people. They have zero respect for you. They will try and scan your ID into their phone. If you refuse, because you don't want some stranger to have your ID in their phone. they will kick you out.... forever. Never spend money here. read more

Tony and I went to a Cruise In Car Show on High Street in downtown Morgantown this evening. After checking out the cars (which were awesome) we went into Gibbie's to cool off.... it's a heatwave out there!!! Tony had a bottle of PBR and I had Unsweetened Iced Tea. About 5-6 yrs ago was the last time we were in here, so it was nice to revisit. read more

Great Gibs Stacked Club (me) and Grilled Cheese (hubby). Curly fries are delicious. Services was great. Recommend!

We were apologized to as we were being seated about how backed up things were, so that should have been a sign. This was despite several tables being open. My pepperoni roll never arrived. It was only at the end of the meal that my server found this out. He didn't notice nor did her ever check in to see if we needed anything. After bringing us the bill, it took quite a while for him to come back & pick it up. Then we waited several more minutes for him to come back and say "I can't keep you hostage any longer. Our WiFi is out. Can you use the atm to pay in cash?" My husband and I combined all of our cash to avoid banking fees and left. A) the place was nowhere near crowded and B) the food was not so good that we were able to overlook the experience. read more

we went during open mic night which was fun! the chips were veryyyyy salty, but the buff dip was pretty good. chicken parm was good! especially if you like chunks of tomatoes! curly fries are good! i was expecting shaved steak, and maybe the wrap cut, but overall was pretty tasty! steak was cooked medium! service was good! quick, kind, good! read more

Great location near the library. No charge for street parking on Sunday. Excellent bar and local beers on tap. Good advice on the local selection too. Tried the fish and chips which were pretty good after using a napkin to get the excess oil off. Fun place! read more

Ordered a Monte Cristo with Onion Rings. The onion rings were crispy and delicious, will be ordering them again. The sandwich was kind of on the meh side, (I was kind of expecting it to be like Cheddar's version but that's probably my fault). What saved the sandwich was the delicious blackberry dijon! The atmosphere was kind of "dungy" and dark and didn't feel welcoming. The barkeep did greet me when entering though, and made sure to check on me for anything I needed. Will be coming back. read more

If you're going for drinks. They are fairly price and good. The bartender seemed very unwelcoming. Unsure if he was just having a bad day. Wife got a sweet drink but was unable to finish it(too sweet for her liking but really good for me) and I had a classic crown and coke. It was pretty hot in there which was a little unpleasant and ordered the pepperoni roll. Was expecting them to be a little more pack with meat and cheese was more crust than filling. And lack of menus made it hard to order. A couple people came asking for menus while we were there read more

BEWARE - THEY STEAL YOUR MONEY! Do NOT go unless you want to be charged twice with NO attempt to correct the situation. At 1st, I thought it might have been an innocent mistake so tried calling for 4 days straight, left several messages for owner, Gibbie, & sent him an email all to be completely ignored. One week later & still no responce or acknowledgement so I take that as blowing me off and it was not a small bill either. Such a shame, do better Gibbie!!! read more

Don't order takeout because they will screw it up every time. Literally no matter what you order lol.

We asked several people and searched Yelp. This place never came up or was mentioned. It's a HODDEN GEM!!! We needed to eat lunch, we missed breakfast. They are open when everyplace else closes ahead of dinner service. We loved the food, our waitress, the ambiance, everything! Irish Pubs are a reliable choice. We had the iconic pepperoni roll- delectable, a steak wrap with homemade curly fries- oh so yummy, hot wings with ghost pepper sauce - good but we had the sauce on the side. The wings need seasoning, sauce is never enough, ginger beer always good, and Pumpking lager- fun, but not my favorite (try O'Malley's pumpkin beer, assorted flavors. The caramel is to die for). Emily was the perfect waitress- gets the job done professionally, pleasantly, and efficiently. She was camera-shy for this review. Yelp and TripAdvisor do you a great disservice when this option doesn't show as a primary eatery to enjoy. read more

Wow, this place has gone down hill big time. We stopped by here yesterday after the game in an attempt to find somewhere where we could grab a beer and get away from 22 yr olds. Mission accomplished but the staff is completely oblivious to customers and the whole waiting on people for tip thing that seems to occur in many restaurants in the US. After waiting 20 minutes for someone to greet us, I finally had to go up yo the bar to order not only a beer but food as well. We got the fried pickles because who doesn't love anything fried with ranch dressing? To my surprise, they came out in the spear form rather than the chip form I've seen 95% of the time. And the spears were just depressing, the breading wouldn't stay on and it was more like hot pickles without any coating, eww. read more

Today was my first experience here and i will say i will never go back there again. let me start off saying that ove worked at 4 different restaurants and i know how the service industry works. our server was clearly under the influence and i even saw him pull out a hand filled with pills. he messed up our order so bad multiple times. when he brought out the food he pulled the ticket using his mouth. worst service ive ever had in my life. read more

Stale beer like tap lines not cleaned "In Years!!" Visited on weekday afternoon , not busy sat at bar... no real designated person bartending or appeared that way... the 3 I saw just fended for themselves on tables, bar guests , etc. Ordered a sandwich.... Completely in-edible... soggy bread, tasted old/off... server took it away seeing I was done didn't even take notice I didn't eat 1/4 of it.. later just asked if I needed my bill.... Paid all of tab.... Won't be back. Obviously a good place at one time.... But that time has greatly past!!! read more

Love this place! The service has always been wonderful and they are so accommodating. Well had delivery today. The food looked good and was hot when arrived. As I ate the "tots" got soggy and oozed grease. The pretzel bites same thing. The beer cheese congealed quickly and was gross. The Italian sausage patty melt was just a regular sausage patty and supposed to be on texas toast. Came on a regular bun. Over all very disappointing . 1st time and last time eating here. read more

Beat burgers we've had in a very long time!! An eclectic little place, local bar/pub. Impressive beer list too but the burgers...wow!!

Gibbies boast a huge bar with a tone of thirsty college students ready to toss down more than a few brews. If you're looking for a crowd or a local band this is a place that you might want to put on your Morgantown dance card. The service is ok, but for me, the food is just your basic bar fare,,,nothing special. This is a solid place to grab a drink with friends or watch a game. read more

Although I have never had food at gibbie's, it is a great local bar to go to for people that are looking for more of an older crowd. It is one of the cheaper bars in town with great specials all the time. It is not the cleanest place in town but it is a quiet bar that never had a rowdy crowd. The live music is usually great there too! read more

I gave this place a second chance again earlier this week. First time I was here was about three or four months ago. The young male bartender was obviously intoxicated and pouring himself drinks. Gave priority to a group of young girls and took forever to serve me and other customers. I thought maybe this was a fluke and tried again a few days ago. I came in in the afternoon and the female bartender was drunk. Again I am pretty sure I saw her pour herself shots while she was behind the bar. I would rather not drink somewhere where the bartenders are so drunk they are slurring their speech. I'll stick to places like the Brew Pub or Mt. State Brewery where I've never had this issue. read more

This place is amazing. They are clean, and the food is delicious. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is happy. The burgers are cooked perfectly. The fries are good hot and not too crispy, and the wings. Omg the wings. We had asked about the wings and found out they make them in house. Starting with a whole breast. And the flavor was OMG. Excellent. My fiance is picky about his wings and he fell in love. The price isn't too steep. For the quality and the amount of food, the price is perfect. We will definitely be back to eat here again. read more

My friend turned 21 and we wanted to go to gibbies brunch for sunday mimosas. We paid $200 and got cut off after 6 bottles smh

You're in a small college town with an awesome downtown. You want to grab a drink or hangout with some friends, but you're not looking for a dank hangout filled with 21-year-olds. You're over dark rooms with neon lights. You might want to grab some food, a craft beer, or a cheap mixed rink. Gibbie's is perfect for that. It's a great downtown spot that fits perfectly with the eclectic feel of downtown Morgantown. It's a fun, local hangout for 20-somethings and the older crowd alike. It's not as separated from the young crowd (such as Iron Horse Tavern or the Apothecary), it definitely caters to them as well. But it's a good combination of what makes Morgantown fun, while not being as unappealing of many of the other bars aimed at college students. Yes, they've got drink specials, tons of cheap beer, and plenty of boozy, sweet drinks. Yes, it can have a bit of a ruckus. But they've also got a very impressive collection of taps, a pretty decent menu (their wings are great), and plenty of events and happenings. It's a staple of any night out in Morgantown for me, and one of the places I look forward to visiting. It's the perfect balance of "let's party" and "hanging out with friends," with everything from cheap mixed drinks to legitimately impressive craft beer. I'm a fan. read more
