I think i might of found my new date night place!! Firstly, the aesthetics of this place are ethereal. I feel like i stepped into a classy cocktail lounge from the 60s. Ordering a dirty martini here is necessary for the full experience, even better if you're a pickle lover order their Swamp Water. I came here recently with my partner on a date night, and it's was the best experience ever! Our bartender/waitress Shenna was amazing, i swear I have never met anyone as skilled at what they do than Shenna. A gifted bartender with impecable taste, I tried all her food recommendations with my specified preferences and she knew exactly what I would be into and the perfect cocktail to complement it. First, we started with a shareable and per Shenna's recommendation we did the "Tator Tots" not my favorite name for the dish because it's incredibly misleading, this was the best fried potato in a cheddar cheese kind of puréed sauce. At first glance I thought it was too much sauce and not enough potato, but was i wrong, i wanted more of that sauce by the end of the meal! Second, we had their baby romaine which is a non traditional style caesar salad. The romaine is still on the wedge and complimented with a green goddess style caesar dressing. I loved it! For our main entree we had the Duck, which was delicious and tender. The peach puree on the side was the greatest complement to the meat and absolutely to die for. I will warn as a general rule for Duck you need to have a specific palate for it but if you like trying new things I would definitely recommend the dish. Lastly, for dessert we had the Lemon Posset which was a sort of berries and cream kind of situation but very delicious nonetheless. I honestly have no complaints about this restaurant, everything was up to impeccable standards. I wish we had more places like this in Morgantown, it's such a breath of fresh air. Four of us went for dinner. We chose tarot tots and pepperoni bread for starters, both were unique and tasty. Two burgers, one without the bun, one duck and one trout. The food was tasty however, service was odd. Our server needed some understanding about reaching across one person's face to serve another person's food. As well as leaving the water bottle on our table rather than us running out of water numerous times. When I ask about a dip for the chips, I was told to use my burger sauce. A bit arrogant for my taste I was a little thrown off with the wing back chair in the single ladies room. The chair was dated for the era but the disco pillow did not match. My husband and I came here for our first date night out since having baby 11+ months ago and we had a very nice time! We were in town visiting for Mother's Day and I saw this place had great reviews. My sister who's still local also suggested it. I tried booking a reservation ahead of time but there wasn't availability. We tried our luck walking in for the bar and the place was surprisingly not busy. This place is such good vibes. The decor is nice. It used to be a bank way back in the day. The other patrons were friendly and we absolutely loved the staff. Our drinks were perfect and we lucked out on some free deviled eggs leftover from brunch. Our bartender also gifted me a rose in a bottle found in the walls from prohibition. So that was very cool and sweet for my first Mother's Day. Soft opening menu but holy moly. This place is a gem. Expect high end drinks and high end food. We shared the tater tots, flat iron and the pâté. Everything was incredible. The flat iron steak was the best steak I've ever had in Morgantown, not even close. Tender, soft, and cooked to perfection. When they officially open, I believe age limit will be 25 and above which provides the town with a nice adult lounge to enjoy excellent food and excellent drinks. Sabri was an incredible hose and server. Highly recommend him when coming in. Everyone was very nice and attentive. This place will be A+++ when it's officially open. read more

The newest, hottest spot on High Street is for grown ups only (25+)!! In a college town full of party going students, it's refreshing to have a place to sip cocktails or celebrate a special occasion without the scene. The Green Door has created their own scene, down to the vinyl spinning behind the bar. (yes, we see you and love it!) We popped in for preshow drinks and tapas. We tried the Blue Cheese Cheesecake, Tater Tots, and Housemade Chips. All were so delicious that we can't pick a favorite. Just try all of them!! For libations, I tried the Dirty Shirley, vodka with housemate sprite and grenadine. It was good, but a tad too sweet for me. My partner tried the Boulevardier, bourbon with vermouth and bitters with orange. While both were good, we chose our usual drinks for the second round. The place is beautifully designed with art deco touches that give Great Gatsby energy. Very clean and vibey! Staff was 1000% on point. Friendly, knowledgeable, and took care of all the details. With this level of excellent service, deliciously curated dishes, and unique cocktail list, comes the price tag, but it is worth it. My husband and I tried the Green Door this evening. So refreshing to find a place downtown that did not cater to the students. We tend to avoid downtown until the students leave for break. Finding the Green Door was a great way to entice us to venture downtown.The atmosphere was friendly, inviting and reminded me of an upscale bar. The ambient noise would make it hard for someone with a hearing issue. (The owner shared that they had tiles yet to hang to address that situation. )There was not a large selection of food. My husband and I shared several small plates, the main course and dessert. We were not disappointed. Charred olives were unique and salty. The pate had a bit of a kick and was like a party in my mouth. The tater tots were unlike anything I ever had. The aged cheddar and brown butter sauce was amazing. For the main course we shared the scallops . There were 3 scallops resting on smoky flavored grits. Dessert was the lemon posset. The honey comb in the dessert added to the texture. It was delightful! We did not leave hungry and it was fun to try different items on the menu. The craft cocktails were creative. I tried Aviation and Corpse Reviver. Both were very unique. The Corpse Reviver was my favorite since I love absinthe. My husband chose the dirty martini. Service was courteous, prompt and professional. The bartender was energetic and efficient.
