    Chicken Apple Walnut Salad

We came in from out of town and stopped in for lunch. The vibe was really upbeat and friendly. My husband really enjoyed the beer and my salad was huge and delicious!

We were seated by the hostess in the blinding sun. When we asked to move to the table further back, she said it was for bigger parties.. ok no big deal. Can we eat at one of the tall tables? (3 empty) no sorry bar service only. Even though there were 2 minors at the other table "bar service only" table. Not 10 minutes later another couple was seated at the back table.. so I guess party size wasn't an issue after all? So we roasted in the hot sun. The food was even worse. We got the spinach artichoke dip that was probably made 4 days ago and reheated. Not sure there was even cheese in the dip? It was straight artichoke, garlic and butter. Soooo greasy we were taking spoon fulls of butter grease out of it. Chips were ok. Salad was $13 and was literally a dole Ceasar kit with the stale croutons and all. Pizza was ok, burned crust. Save the $50 and go somewhere else. Won't be returning.

Sure, they have flatbreads but they also have salads and I was in a salad mood this evening. The small Caesar (add chicken) was just the right size for me, with extremely fresh romaine and a ight dressing. With a beer and their wifi, I was happy. Service was friendly and the place was not at all busy on a Monday night. I'd love a power outlet at the table so I can charge my electronics and $19 for a flatbread if you're a single diner is a bit much. But otherwise? A good experience and I'm glad I got off the highway to stop here. [Review 20339 overall - 105 in West Virginia - 1317 of 2023.]

    Popeye with side salad.

Gone here a couple of times with a friend when I've been in town. The servers are always super nice and provide decent service. We've never had to wait too long to be seat, have our order taken, or receive our food; which is an A plus in my boook. Got the Popeye with spinach and bacon the first time. It was really good. Also sampled some of my friend's pizza which was also delicious. Recently got the Low Cow. Also good, but maybe could've used a hair more horseradish. Meat was tender so won't complain too much. Atmosphere is pretty laid back. Not really loud. It's been moderately busy when we've gone, not so bad we had to wait or could hear other people's conversations. I enjoyed it enough to go back and would probably visit again given the opportunity when I'm in town. Close to my mom's (as most things are on this town) so I don't have to venture far to eat.

An awesome experience! The place itself is cozy yet open, and our server was so great all the way through service on a Saturday. I loved my beer flight (they also have whiskey flights too) and the fact you got 6 choices all from their brewery or other local ones. Had a small salad and pizza which was the perfect compliment. Definitely recommend!

Nice place, really good pizza, friendly staff. They need better signage though, we had a hard time finding it.

The host told us the wait would be about 30 to 40 minutes, but there happened to be two open seats at the bar, so we agreed to sit there instead. The restaurant is not very large inside, so I can understand why there was a wait. We sat at the end of the bar. The seats weren't originally side by side but they moved one chair so we could sit together and it worked out fine. The sign says they're a coal fired pizzeria, and their menu definitely reflects that. They offer a lot more than your standard pepperoni or sausage pizza. There were several artisan options and honestly it was hard to choose. For an appetizer we ordered the Chips & Gorgonzola. My friend asked what Gorgonzola was, and although I knew it was cheese, I completely forgot how similar it is to blue cheese, which she doesn't usually like. This ended up being a pleasant surprise because the Gorgonzola aioli had more of a tart bite than typical blue cheese, and she actually enjoyed it. When it came to the pizza, I knew I wanted something different from the usual topping combinations. I narrowed it down to three: Il Fico (the fig pizza), the Bacon, Grape & Gorgonzola. I asked the bartender what he recommended, and he suggested the Bacon, Grape & Gorgonzola. I mentioned I was torn between that and the fig pizza. He hadn't tried the fig one, so he couldn't compare, but he said he really liked the bacon and grape. I didn't even think about the fact that I'd already had Gorgonzola in my appetizer, but I went with it anyway. I have to say, it was an interesting combination in a good way. The Gorgonzola balanced out the sweetness of the grapes, and the pizza was cooked well with good flavor. It's probably not something I'd order every visit, but I'm glad I tried it once. My friend ordered the chicken parmesan and seemed happy with hers too. For dessert, we ordered the petit fours sampler. They came as little cakes set on cupcake wrappers with a raspberry glaze drizzled across the plate. Beautiful presentation. The cakes were soft and moist but incredibly sweet. We ended up dragging them through the raspberry glaze to add some tartness, which helped a lot. Without the glaze, I think they would have been too sweet to finish. Overall, we had a really good experience. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and genuinely tried to make sure we enjoyed our meal. I would definitely stop by again the next time I'm in town.

He also had solid dinner recommendations and was super nice and welcoming to our family (including 2 kids under 5). Job well done. Of course, great service means nothing if the food doesn't back it up, and thankfully it did. I really enjoyed my steak pasta; my wife enjoyed her soup, and the kids ate their chicken tenders (for what that's worth). My 5 year old didn't love her kids mac & cheese (was penne pasta) but I did enough to eat half there and bring the rest home as leftovers. Awesome dinner. Thank you again Daniel!
