The tuna melt was very tasty and the side salad was of great portion. The brie sandwich was ok. It didnt have a lot of flavor, but it hit the spot. Everything seemed to be clean. Went here for Mother's Day and it was very accomodating. We made a reservation and we had (I think) a two hour time limit which was just enough. The items were so good and the tea selection is out of this world. One day, I would like to see them with a honeysuckle tea. I have been to The Tea Shoppe twice. The first time was for a fun themed event and the second was to celebrate a friend. Both times the food was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. All of the teas I have tried have been exquisite. They even provide you with a tea timer so you know how long to seep your tea for the perfect cup. The eating area is just lovely, with just enough space between tables to not feel crowded. I paid for the four of us in my friend's celebration, and the cost was very reasonable - less than it costs to take my family out elsewhere for food that isn't quite as fresh or lovely as it is here!! It would be an adorable place for a date or to catch up with a friend. I will definitely be back! read more

I have given very few 2's as a Yelper. The 2 is totally about the customer service we received. Surly, not engaged, and didn't suggest any additional purchases ... by the owner. Getting any information about making reservations or tea selections were not welcomed. Large selection of teas, teapots, teacups, honey, strainers, and all things tea. We saw high tea being served and reviewed the menu. We know 3 little girls who would love to get dressed up and have a day trip for high tea. No rewards program. We purchased quite a bit of tea and accessories. A rewards program would encourage return visitors. read more

just now New This is one of my favorite places in Morgantown. The loose tea selection is exceptional and the food is amazing. I frequently buy 2 oz of teas for a fraction of the price that I paid in Raleigh, NC. The high tea food are wonderful. I'm in love with their scones, quiche, soups, and cucumbers sandwich. My husband loves their BLT and my son always gets the panini. I have yet to attend any of their literary special events but am looking forward to coming to one in the future. read more

One of my absolute favorite spots! It will be one of my most missed restaurants in Morgantown now that I won't be here as often for work. I highly recommend the tea service. You get four types of tea sandwiches (that you can sub for almost any sandwhich if you find like one). You also get a scone of choice, four assorted mini desserts and a pot of tea. You can also add soup and or a slice of quiche all for around $20-$22. Can't beat it! I only wish pittsburgh had a yea shop like this. The food is always fabulous and they have a great tea menu (and can ship from their online shop as well!). They also host very fun themed nights for adults or kids (I recently went to a downton abbey themed night and it was a blast)! Make sure you stop here if ever in Morgantown. read more

I took our daughter, niece and great nephew for afternoon tea. Wonderful server explaining how each level of tea served. We had the tri level of sandwiches, scones and cookies. Oh my goodness-we were overwhelmed. Each had our own teapot of steaming water for our individual picked flavor. The shoppe decore was as one would imagine with pretty little curtains, table cloths and coordinating napkins. The hardwood floors gently creaked from their 1800 construction. Such a cute tea shop! I fell in love! We went for an afternoon tea and got the Royal Tea Service which includes sandwiches, scones and desserts for $21.99. Everything taste good, it's hard to pick a favorite! The scones are glorious. And for the tea, they had so many options to choose from like 2 pages in the menu! I ended up picking Matcha green tea. The teapots came in different colors and they were all cute. They gave us a brewing tea time in a form of pendulum that tells us when our tea is already drinkable and i thought that was a cute ad on! Service was good too. We met the owner, she was the one who got us seated and was so pleasant! Our waitress was lovely and made sure we got everything we need. They also have a cute little shop where you can buy tea, teapots and other afternoon tea time essentials. We surely be coming back! read more

Me and my bf had a wonderful time, I had finaly got him to go for breakfast (which is afternoon for you normal people) we had the scotish Caramel tea and a breakfast sandwich, the tea was soooo lovely and the breakfast sandwich was filling, ooooo and it came with berry's on the side, the berry's where delightful, after we ate we walked around and looked at the shop, they have a wide selection of tea and teapots very buitiful teapots I might add, I was so glad to see so many people there, it means the place is doing well, I do suggest visiting we loved the place. read more

SO DISAPPOINTING My friend called on Saturday and asked me to join her in an impromptu shopping trip to the Seneca Center starting with the Cutting Boutique a place we often frequent followed by a lunch at the Tea Shoppe.So after shopping and buying a few Brownies at the Brownie House another shop in the Seneca Center as she had placed our name on the long waiting list at the Tea Shoppe. We followed the rude person's seating direction to return in 15-20 minutes but she basically ignored us for many more minutes when we returned as we waited in an unorganized line. Finally we got seated by the same woman who apparently was the owner/manager. After the rude entrance we were seated and served by a lovely young lady and enjoyed a good lunch although the tea was so cold both of us had to have it reheated which actually was not unexpected since the cups sat for a time.once again the waitress was accommodating. After we finished our lunch and paid the bill my friend asked us "Do you want to split one of these brownies? ( The one we bought in th other store always attempting to support local business) She proceeded to split the delicious brownie in to 3 pieces and we were finished, we thought. We paid the $70.00 plus lunch bill and were ready to leave when the same rude woman and sauntered to our table said,"Ladies, you cannot bring outside food in to the restaurant and we serve Brownies here !"She turned on her heels and walked away with an arrogance that surprised us. We are three grown women who have frequented this place for many years. Her harsh demeanor left us speechless. So my friend being as smart as she is ordered three brownies from the Tea Shoppe and had them added to my bill. I told the waitress to please inform this woman that we purchased 3 of her brownies. The brownies were all three placed into one small plastic container. We tasted them on our way out of Seneca promptly and threw them in the trash as they were NOT EDIBLE. THIS WAS OUR FINAL VISIT to what what once was a favorite stop and a peaceful, calm ,wonderful concept for a "Tea Room" It is always a pleasure to see a business grow but very sad to see the management unable to grow to meet the needs of the patrons. read more

This was a great little find after coming to the Fairmont area for over a decade. I think I first saw this in WV Living magazine, and put it on my must try list. The shop had a so many options, both teas and accessories. It was busier than I thought it would be on a Tuesday but they were able to seat us right away. Our waiter (James) was great, really polite and nice. And I was please by how many tea service options that they had at varying price points. The vast amount of teas to choose from was almost overwhelming but it was great to try something new. The sandwiches were good. We had pumpkin scones (which didn't taste great with the lemon curd that came with it, the clotted cream was good) The decor in the dinning room was a little mismatched with some older looking Victorian wall hangings and some more modern looking photos on canvass. This place is a great find in Morgantown. It's a super cute tea shop with an extensive tea menu and great food menu. I went by myself because I needed some free wifi and a place to study and I love tea so this seemed like a good place to try and I was not disappointed. I struggled to choose what to order because there was so much good looking food but decided to classic with the afternoon tea service. The sandwiches, desserts, and scone were delicious! This place is cute, has a large selection of teas, and the prices are reasonable. My fiance's family really like this place so I've been a couple of times now. Overall it's worth a visit. The reason I'm not giving it a higher rating is because my first visit was probably 4 stars and second visit was closer to 2 stars based on service. On the second visit we arrived with a larger party (8 people total) and the service was just bad. Since we were a larger group I could understand some hiccups but this is what really bothered me: Everyone at our table ordered both tea and food but 3-4 of us ordered tea flights (4 kinds of tea). All the single tea pot orders and all of the flights arrived at our table expect mine. I thought maybe mine took a little longer to steep so I waited awhile before asking about it. When I did ask the waitress said it was steeping and her tone was just kind of annoyed - like I was being impatient. They brought my tea out about 1-2 minutes later. Then I tried it and it was 100% clear that it hadn't been steeping. It was forgotten and when I asked about it she ran to the back and they started steeping it then served it immediately after. The smell was pleasant but it had no taste at all. I had people at the table take a sip and they said the same. I would have been totally fine if they'd just said - sorry it looks like we missed your order and it's going to take another 10 minutes to steep. Mistakes happen and that would have been understandable. So I didn't drink the tea flight and I let the waitress know that it hadn't been steeped. She mumbled sorry. I was still charged full price for tea that wasn't steeped. This was something so so simple to correct for a customer and they just did not seem to care at all. It's probably not worth writing the place off over one bad service experience so still giving it 3 stars. read more

They have a great lunch menu and a huge variety of teas, as well as a shop in the front where you can buy anything you need to have a lovely tea experience. Very disappointed in breakfast today. Selections advertised with fruit side. 2 raspberries does NOT constitute a side. No. Go to Blue Moose and there you will see indeed what a side of fruit entails. And, the Tea Shoppe had no lemon! I went to McDonalds to get an iced tea, and they had lemon. Lastly, the floor in dining room was filthy. And this not from this morning. Consistency is paramount. I took my cousin here for her birthday. We did the afternoon tea. I got the butter rum tea and she had a mint green tea. My tea had really no flavor at all so I wouldn't really recommend that one. I liked the sandwiches the best they were really good the desserts were OK I liked the mini cheese cake thing and the scone was really good. The other ones I didn't like that much. Overall the place was cute ,fun, inexpensive. I would come back and have an actual lunch here considering how good the sandwiches are. I definitely recommend this place. read more

Stopped in here for tea for two after lunch. The tea menu is A-mazing. We had the Dorian Grey (not Earl) and a lovely Dragon Jasmine tea with cranberry scones. The scone came with whipped creme and lemon curd. I adored the cute hour glass tea timer and the Fiestaware-like teapots. My only criticism: traditional English tea is served with milk or creme and should always be served so. I did ask for milk and got it promptly. This cute space provides an assortment of eccentric hats to wear during tea so that you may feel as if you are at a Mad Hatter's tea party-- I love the nod to Lewis Carroll and crazy old ladies everywhere. My boyfriend and I love this place. Hands down the service is wonderful and the tea is some of the best we have tried, and we drink tea often. The tea pot and warmer we bought there are the nicest ones I have ever had. The service is always so wonderful, no matter what your tastes are they will help you find your tea bliss. We love coming here because of the quality of the tea and prices are great. We love trying the daily tea they set out to tempt you to try something new. That's how we discovered our favorite called bohemian raspberry, and that's how my boyfriend got into tea. I've been to The Tea Shoppe twice, once with a friend and most recently with my stepdaughter to celebrate her upcoming birthday. I love the concept and the atmosphere. You don't feel rushed, and have time to sit and enjoy your tea while you visit with your companions. Both times my tea has been delicious (and there are more than plenty options to choose from!). I've ordered the 3 tier tray option. The sandwiches are fresh, the desserts are a good variety, and the scones are phenomenal.
