We had the cafe au lait, pumpkin spice latte, and the special Wild Rabbit (mocha with raspberry). Each were so good and the barista made she we liked them all. Again, super sad I don't live here because I'd be stopping by every morning to say hello and get a pour over. Hoping to swing through again someday.

Literally so cute…read more I got an iced matcha which I loved. I usually tend to avoid matcha when I am not making it bc most places load it up with sugar to the point that it's like a milkshake. This place, from the taste of it already, went a little lighter on the sweeteners but still had enough of a touch that it tasted really good. They had other very delicious beverages that I also probably would have very much enjoyed if I hadn't impulsively blurted out the fish thing I saw.

The Grind was like a beacon of light when I spotted it. I was super happy to see this coffee shop…read morewhile walking around downtown Morgantown, because I really needed a boost, and this place had what I was desperately in need of: caffeine! It was well past 2 o'clock, and I try not to drink coffee after 11ish-o'clock, because it usually messes with my sleep. But I remembered the words of a man much wiser than me who once said, "I never sleep, 'cause sleep is the cousin of death," so I felt like a lil' iced coffee would actually be beneficial, in this case. No regrets. The iced coffee was great! I always forget about iced coffee when I'm at a coffee shop, because I just usually order a hot black coffee. I'm so stuck in my ways, sometimes! But iced coffee was a good choice in this situation, and it came with a little vanilla cream, which was unexpected but a nice indulgence. The Grind is located right across the street from West Virginia University. It was packed when I visited, and I imagine it is almost always packed, because of its location. But the people who work here are very efficient and friendly, and my iced coffee was ready lickety-split. I got my coffee to go, but there are some tables inside the coffee shop to sit and relax, if you wanted to. One of my favorite things about The Grind is that they have a confession box in the restroom. I left a little confession in the box, because it promised that the box was "a safe place to share what you can never tell a soul," and I felt that I could trust this random coffee shop in West Virginia with my whole heart. I left my confession there, and took my iced coffee with me and went on my way.

I spent a few hours working here and visiting daily for 5 days. After having their coffee, I threw out a latte from another local coffee shop. It just didn't come close. The sweets look great too but I can't indulge since I need to keep sugar intake low. If you're a coffee lover, you'll love it here.

I've said that in many reviews (get your pastries warmed up if it's an option, especially if they're bread-based), but it's especially true here. A warm honeycomb bread is essential. Durar is located in downtown Morgantown, and it's the only Yemeni coffee shop in the area. They offer a number of other desserts, including a variety of cheesecake in unusual flavors, like pistachio, kunafa and lotus. They also have croissants, bagels, milk cakes and danishes. Of course, Durar has coffee. They serve Yemeni coffee, which has spices like cardamom and clove in it. if you're dining in, you can get it presented to you nicely on a tray, with real cups and a carafe. They also have espressos, lattes, iced coffee and hot chocolate. It took quite a while to get my honeycomb bread, but they were super busy, which I liked to see, so it didn't bother me. The honeycomb bread was worth the wait, for sure.

The signage isn't great, and I drove around longer than I should have trying to figure out where I was supposed to go. The people working there were incredibly nice. They were friendly, welcoming, and honestly the best part of the experience. I ordered a waffle, and it was good. No complaints about the food itself. My issue was more with the overall atmosphere. For what everything costs, I expected a much nicer experience. Instead, I was getting my own silverware from a container sitting on top of the trash can and eating at a cheap plastic table and chair. It just didn't match the price point for me and made the whole place feel a little thrown together. That said, I can totally see this being a popular spot with WVU students. It's casual, laid back, and probably exactly what a lot of college kids are looking for. For me, though, it wasn't worth the price, and I don't think I'd go out of my way to come back.
