I've been coming here since high school during off season and on! Over the years, different owners have taken over the restaurant and added their own touch but these most recent years has been the best it's ever been! Weekly events, DJ's, and colorful ambiance! The food isn't great for the price you're paying. I would eat prior to visiting if you're on a budget and expecting high quality food. The drinks are great! Good variety of tap beers and seltzer. After eating here, I understand why this restaurant only has 2.5 stars. The service was slow and disappointing from start to finish, and the food was just average--nothing worth coming back for. The only things this place really has going for it are the nice waterfront view and plenty of seating. Our bartender, Gabby, spent much of our visit planning a trip to Albania instead of paying attention to customers at the bar. It actually took longer to get our check and close out our tab than it did to eat our meal. Overall, there are much better places to spend your time and money. I hate leaving bad reviews but all around things could be better. Their website said music at 6. It was a band I've seen before and was looking forward to it so to mix in some exercise I rode my bike the 10 miles to the bar. Turns out music wasn't until 7:30, which the hostess didn't know because she said yeah, 6pm, that sounds about right, when I got there. So I sit, order a rum punch. They use cheap rum and small ice cubes so it's watered down instantly and it's $17. Ok, I'll order a beer next round. So at 5:50 I'm ready for round 2, order a beer but notice no band is setting up. Finally found someone that knew, band at 7:30. Was going to order food but didn't get around to it because I didn't want to wait around for an hour and a half. Very disappointing. I haven't been to Rye play-land for many years but I heard they were having a disco night and so I put on my psychedelic shirt and came to dance. Our group had an excellent time at the pier, 70's and 80's themed disco night. We danced the night away and enjoyed a great atmosphere with many friendly people. The service and the drinks were great but the food wasn't too good. I tried a couple of dishes and wasn't impressed, the cocktail shrimp were good, nice and big. But then they ran out of clams and oysters! The night was just beginning, poor planning, management has to get it together. I ordered some steamed clams and they served me some baby clams that were so tiny! Come here for the vibe and the drinks. Make sure you eat before you come. But come to drink and dance! read more

My first time at the tiki Beach pier restaurant went for a 70's disco event-the DJ was fantastic -great music and we danced the whole night. Beautiful fireworks and beach front view amazing. Here is the problem the food was horrible ordered chicken spring rolls it simple had a funcky taste. Ordered guacamole and chips but the guacamole needed flavor -I think they missed the salt and pepper. Ribs did not look good at all and if you see pictures salt was applied to the potatoes. Thank goodness their drinks were pretty good no complaints there and Omar our server was very attentive. So before any event at Tiki bar restaurant eat somewhere else then go have fun . read more

Pretty piss poor experience. Came here after a trip to Playland despite the caution presented by the review here. Main restaurant was shut down for an event, so they had everyone at a makeshift area with turf on the side. Staff is absolutely lost. We sat there for 25min and nobody came by to take an order or anything. Saw them talking about us, like they weren't sure who had/wanted our table. Mind you we had a kid with us. We were not the only people waiting to order either, as some didn't even have menus. If you read the reviews here, everyone says the service sucks. Tracks pretty well. We ended up getting up and leaving. Looking at the menu prices--which are crazy for a place like this--I wasn't having us stick around indefinitely to find out if the complaints about the food are valid too. I do not know why the reviews are so bad! I am glad I took them with a grain of salt. I ordered the fish tacos, a side of summer veggies, and a vodka Diet Coke. The venue itself is beautiful & a perfect place to listen to live music. I came tonight to see my favorite band Bailen. They were amazing & the acoustics were captivating. As for food, the tacos were very good. Perfect portion and summer taste! The veggies were fine, nothing remarkable but I wanted a healthy side. As for the drink that was a little flat but overall fine. The server was attentive and caring. It was not easy to wait on all the tables. However I took off a star for the constant rolling of the cart to collect dishes. It took away from the moment. And there needs to be a better way to know which food goes to which table. I came here with my friends and their kids, the vibes are great. We were under an umbrella by the water, it was warm out, but there was a nice breeze and they had music playing! I got the lobster roll, it was good, but I think the bread could've been softer. we shared the jumbo coconut shrimp, that was so good! Love the sauce on that too. I got a Casamigo. Margarita, delicious! I had two of those lol my friends also had drinks, love those as well. The service was great, our server was so nice and helpful with our questions. Came here to watch a soccer game and the service was painfully slow. It took 30+ minutes just to order drinks, and our server would take most of our group's order, skip someone, then disappear for another 30 minutes. Tabbing out took about 45 minutes, and we couldn't even leave because they had my physical card the entire time. Also, $44 for two whiskey drinks is insane!! I've been to Manhattan bars that have been cheaper. The worst part: I didn't leave a tip because the experience was terrible, but when the Amex charge finalized, it went from $44 to $54. Worst experience ever, first and last time We spent over $350 only to be treated with complete disrespect. After being seated for a little over two hours while still eating and drinking, we were accused of trespassing and security was called on us for absolutely no reason. We never raised our voices or argued. The server had an attitude every time we ordered something, and the owner was one of the rudest people I've ever encountered. Instead of valuing paying customers, they treated us like an inconvenience. The food was mediocre at best and certainly not worth the price. If i could leave a negative star i would but a 1 star will suffice, ive gone here a total of 2 times, and both times were a terrible experience, i dont where they hired their security from but i first hand saw how poorly they treated multiple clients by not only yelling at the top of their lungs but also forcibly maneuvering FEMALES away from the bar, all because they messed up thinking that someone's id was fake when it wasnt and then refusing to give it back, very unprofessional crew of security from not only shouting at customers but also taunting, cursing and making fun of the people they kicked out for falsely accusing them of having a fake id, by which multiple quote on quote "managers/staff" came to speak to us and did nothing about the situation but side with the security who was in the wrong, very unprofessional security and disgusting behavior from 50+ year old men. read more

1/5 -- Deeply unprofessional security staff, inconsistent and concerning practices I want to detail an experience that has permanently ended my patronage of this establishment, because I believe other patrons -- and the owners -- deserve to know what happened. My friend and I visited two nights in a row to watch the World Cup, having had a positive experience the night before. On our second visit, the door staff confiscated my friend's valid New York driver's license and refused to explain why. When we calmly asked what was happening, we were ignored entirely for several minutes -- no eye contact, no acknowledgment, nothing. When the bouncer finally responded, he claimed the ID was fraudulent and stated he would be contacting the police. The ID is genuine. Rather than verifying this or de-escalating, he summoned a second staff member, who proceeded to raise his voice to the point of shouting directly at us in front of other patrons. This is, frankly, an inappropriate way to treat any customer, let alone two women being accused of a crime they did not commit. A manager was eventually brought in to intervene. She observed the situation and took no corrective action whatsoever -- no apology, no attempt to resolve the matter, no oversight of her staff's conduct. We were ultimately forced to locate a police officer ourselves to recover the ID. What concerns me most is the inconsistency: while we were being detained and threatened over a valid ID, other guests walked in without any ID check at all. I'm also aware of underage individuals who have gotten in without issue. If that's accurate, it suggests the door policy isn't about safety or compliance -- it's arbitrary, and applied aggressively to some guests while ignored for others. That's a liability issue as much as a customer service one. I'd previously enjoyed this venue and had no complaints. But after watching staff mishandle a basic ID check into a hostile, public confrontation -- with zero management accountability -- I won't be returning, and I'd encourage others to think twice. read more

We also order drinks . they came in a plastic cup full of ice. DRINKS are just a bit tasty, but aftee a few minutes is just juice and water. My experience at this bar was incredibly frustrating and unprofessional, especially concerning the security staff. I was trying to get in, and the security guard took my ID without any explanation, just looking around for someone else for a good 5 minutes. He wouldn't tell me why he was holding onto it or why I couldn't enter. Eventually, he came back with another security guard who immediately got in my face, yelling that I needed another form of ID and clearly trying to throw his weight around. They tried to confiscate my ID until we pushed for them to give me my LICENSE back. The manager also didn't help at all. This was particularly upsetting because I had been there the night before and had a great time watching the game and my card was ALSO still at the bar. I literally went to enjoy the next game the next day expecting to have a good time and retrieve my card. MIND YOU THEY WERENT EVEN SCANNING ID'S. You can't assume an ID is fake with a flashlight. Dined here a few days ago. Hostess sat us outside by the Tiki Bar. Sun was not too hot due to the fact there is tree covering. Food was really good and comes out fast and piping hot. Please try the calamari the dipping sauce so delicious. I also really enjoyed the empanadas they also came with an incredible sauce. Long Island boaters are always on the lookout for restaurants to drive up to. At the recommendation of friends, we decided to head across the sound and try this place out. Many restaurants on the water have limited dock space or are hard to tie up at, but not the Tiki restaurant. It was super easy to tie up on a mooring ball near playland beach and catch a tender to the restaurant. Pina colada was cold and tasty, cauliflower app was yum and my fish tacos were very good. Salads got mixed reviews. Definitely worth a boat outing though :) read more

My experiences at Tiki Beach go back many years to when Sam Chernin of Sammy's on City Island fame and John Ambrose of the Crab Shanty's co-owned and ran the Tiki Bar. John's sudden passing a few years ago saddened his many friends who miss his humor and warm hospitality. The new version of Tiki Beach continues the general experience with several enhancements. The hospitality desk and stage for music acts has been upgraded and there is additional upper tier seating area. The food quality and service will always be constrained because it is a large seasonal restaurant dependent on Summer workers. If you keep it simple the food is fine- fried calimari, burgers and fish tacos were all fairly good. Some of our guests requested modifications to their orders- this is problematic over the Memorial weekend. The music by FDR (new members) was fun and there was an extensive fireworks show and even acrobat acts- I kid you not. Our early arrival drink at the bar was serviced nicely by the bar staff. There is a big security detail at Tiki Beach- probably a good idea with what's going on in the world- so that was a good positive and provided some reassurances. Parking near Playland is $20 which is steep. There were some issues with the competing music- from the band and the piped in music- but that was eventually ironed out. Overall the experience was good. Just don't go there looking for gourmet or exceptional Cuisine because it is not reasonable. Enjoy the water breezes and opportunity to be outdoors and you will be more than satisfied. read more

We had a wonderful waiter Nick. They are very dog friendly, brought a nice water bowl for the dog. The food was Good, great menu. Nice brunch menu as well. read more

My fiancé and I came to the Tikibar tonight for dinner and drinks. We were excited since we knew it was under new ownership and rebranded so we had high hopes. Parking is definitely a turn off. More below on that. I'll start with the positive: the atmosphere & our waitress Gianna. It's a fun beach vibe, definitely a bit loud, more so club vibe on a Friday night. Our server Gianna was quick, attentiveness, nice, and really wanted to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. She made our experience more so than the food. Drinks were good: ordered a vodka soda with like so no complaints there. Mixed well. Food: average with above average pricing. We wouldn't come back for dinner at all. Food was not fresh at all and high in preservatives, it felt like it was all frozen food that was heated up to bring up. The pretzel was cold, cheese was like cheese whip. We ordered the flatbread and Tiki burger as mains. I'd recommend the team focus on a few items they can excel vs. offering so many items that are coming out of the freezer and being upcharged. Parking: major issue. To just dine & drink here you must pay the $20 Playland Amusement park fee. They don't validate your check or receipt to subsidize the parking. Because of this alone we're turned off. There needs to be another system for patrons who are solely dining here because by the end of the night you have a high bill for mediocre food and a guaranteed $20 for parking which is insane, especially for Westchester residents. Again, Gianna was the highlight. Otherwise I feel this place has a ways to go and we won't be frequenting as much as we thought we would. Neither will our friends. We made reservations because we were going to the haunted house as a gift for my autistic son's birthday. They sent two email confirmation confirmations about our reservation. We got inside paid for parking only to find the restaurant was closed. We called the restaurant and on their answering machine, they said they're in the kitchen, preparing the food and suggested sending a text who sent a text and they're like oh yeah we had to close. I'm like oh we're here. We paid for parking and you're like well. Sorry will give you a free meal in May and I said that's not good enough and he goes fine. Go to McDonald's. I suspect the fact that we had lunch here among a sparse crowd on a Tuesday before the 4th of July and so the kitchen, and the extraordinary waitperson Lucy were able to serve, and we were able to enjoy, the fabulous view, well-crafted cocktails, and a truly fine version of "clam shack" seaside cookery from a carefully thought out menu without them or us feeling slammed, may explain why our experience was well-above the relatively lukewarm reviews, here, on Google, and Tripadvisor.
