Very disappointed in my experience tonight. I ordered a chicken burrito, and it took an hour! Cleanliness is subpar, the hot sauce bar is thick with grime. It is obvious it is not cleaned daily or even weekly. There are black chunks surrounding the pump dispenser where the sauce comes out on every pump. Service was great, friendly staff. For a chain restaurant that is more fast-food than authentic Mexican food, Tijuana Flats is still a pretty solid choice for lunch or dinner. This particular location is just outside of Memorial Park, so I got my food to go and enjoyed it in the park. Tijuana Flats is a Florida born company, it started in the Orlando area and has grown by leaps and bounds. Again, while they do not have anything close to authentic Mexican, it is still a tasty and somewhat healthy option of fast-food (especially when compared to those huge burger chains). The service here was friendly enough and the ambiance is what you would expect from a Tijuana Flats. They also have tables outside if you want to enjoy a pleasant day (or do what I did and have lunch in Memorial Park). Hello all. Today I made a quick run to Tijuana Flats for dinner. I ordered a bowl with shredded chicken, steak, lettuce, tomato, black beans, Mexican rice, cheese and sour cream. Everything was seasoned and cooked well. I also tried a few of the sauces to go on it. I settled for the Smack Uour Momma Sweet and I'm glad I did because I taste the hot one and it still got my mouth on fire. Chicken wasn't shredded to small and the steak was juicy. All the veggies were fresh like they had just cut them. I wanted a large lemona but they only make them in a small cup (very disappointed). I never eat here but tonight I decided to go out to support Riverside High. The staff was friendly and welcoming. The restaurant was empty when I arrived but others started coming in shortly after. I placed my order to go and waited. It didn't take too long I came home, gave my kids their food and started to eat mine. only to bite into one of my steak flautas (they actually tasted pretty good) after already eating one and see hair when I pulled it from my mouth. I was immediately grossed out and lost my appetite. I called the store and the manager offered a refund. Good location right in the heart of Riverside. It's also right next to a Starbucks and across the street from Memorial Park. It's good to eat inside and outside here. The food is really good too. I love the quesadillas, tacos, and burritos. They used to have regular sized Churros but they're now bite sized. The cookie dough flautas were also delicious. The strawberry lemonade is also my favorite to drink. I go here every few months or so. Staff is also very friendly when we go too. We participated in the Yelp Elite Event for the Street Corn Tacos and enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend this place to eat at anytime. Not to mention taco Tuesdays. The photos of the celebrities. A few more customers came after us, so it looks like we were lucky. In a way, it was good business for them so hopefully they made their daily or weekly profit goal. They will serve you chips with no salt also if you order them as I do, and we all love them sauces..mmmmmm This chain does a lot of various things beside Tijuana Tuesdaze and Throwback Thurdaze. I applaud their Pink Tacos for Breast Cancer awareness and their "Just in Queso" foundation. Its always a good thing when you give back to the communities you are in. Bruce is a GEM and an employee who truly understands how to be the best he can possibly be. No one goes to a Tijuana Flats expecting 5 star service - it's a counter service/quick service restaurant after all. However, in your few interactions with him he makes you feel like you're at a MICHELIN rated restaurant. He makes an effort to get to know at the counter, even when he's the only one working. He is also the person to make sure your order is right every time. Very sad this is what we got. Three of us at work ordered lunch and spent $41.26. Our bowls look Like they've already been half eaten. We could literally count the pieces of chicken in our bowl. I got a steak chimichanga. I made it big and wet with Queso. Why does that sound so dirty? Haha. The place inside is really cute. Lots of tables to sit at, and you get the option of getting items to go as well, which is what I did since I live right down the street. They have a whole table of different hot sauces. Which is a dream come true since I love trying new things...and I equally love hot sauces. Haha. Very busy during lunch time with a lot of people coming in from their lunch break. But what's cool is they call your name when your order is ready AND bring it to you. So that's helpful! So you can grab a nice seat outside and they will bring it out to you and your party. It's consistent good-eats in a convenient location in a local neighborhood with quality staff. I pop in after grocery shopping at the Riverside Publix or stop by after a manicure or even sometimes partake in Taco Tuesday deals. Everyone hates the parking lot because they share it with Publix and lots of other stores and restaurants but I usually get a good space pretty quickly. I like the convenience of going in and ordering a Mexican pizza, which is delicious, or a few hard, beef tacos with all the fix-ins. Sauce options are plentiful, the place is clean with inside and outside seating options. The quality of the food in this Riverside location has seriously declined over the last several years. Today, I stopped in for an order to go. First of all, the menu is quite limited and somewhat weird when it comes to writing a good, overall menu with a variety of choices. Doesn't happen here and I guess that is more of a reflection on their corporate office. I ordered a taco, burrito, and a large iced tea. I waited for a very long time and I read my email while I waited. Must have been really long because I ran out of emails to read! The order eventually came out and when I got back to my office, a cold, lone burrito was in one styrofoam container while a single, cold taco was buried under tortilla chips in another styrofoam container. There was also a large bag of tortilla chips. These folks are definitely not concerned about environmental packaging. The food was grandly mediocre (and cold) but what really inspired this review was a large cup of iced tea with no ice. It was the only thing served with speed, so I imagine the ice melted while I waited in the restaurant. To sum it up: Poor selection, long wait, cold food (if it's to go), mediocre taste, and at this location during lunch hours, the parking is next to impossible. One other odd thing: the management decided to display (to the public's viewing pleasure) their daily gross sales and projected percentages. They showed a previous day's gross sales at over $4,500 which I find impressive for a lackluster business. Save your time, money, patience, and taste buds for Taco Bell. Yes, I would even choose that over this place. Definitely NOT returning! read more

My go to place! Very convenient and all the employees here are so friendly and welcoming! That's why we kept coming back and it's just a walking distance to our house. I usually order the steak quesadillas and it is really good, steak was a little rough but not too rough. Then they have the burger quesadillas and that was my ULTIMATE favorite!!!!! But they stopped serving them as well as their fries?!? I do not know why they are not selling them anymore but when I found out I was literally disappointed. But then again I found my new favorite, the blackened chicken nachos!!!! Ahhhh it is sooo good! I went here the other week and it was a lot better this time. The food was actually hot this time, service was better and I was able to get onions instead of having to get pico. I'll still recommend because this used to be a spot I would come to often. However I do think they have consistency problems at times. A few times I've noticed their portions aren't always consistent either, ide recommend eating in to getting takeout because a few times me and a friend of mine have gotten barely any meat in our tacos. My husband and I had dinner here last night on the recommendation of a 15 yo son of friends of ours who said it was his new fave place ever. LOL I'll listen to his recommendations more often, because this place is great. We weren't sure what to expect, but this place is similar in set-up to other fast food places like Whataburger and Pollo Tropical - you order and customize your food at the counter, then pay and sit. The workers then bring your food out when ready and there is a bar of hot sauce condiments where you can customize it even further. We started off with the Tijuana Trio, like the previous reviewer had. The young lady behind the counter said for us not to worry if we run out, we can get refills. The guacamole had large chunks of avocado, the queso was cheddar based but good, and the salsa tasted very fresh. My husband had the Megajuana carnita Chimichanga and loved it. It was the biggest they offer and it was stuffed full of tasty meat and other things. The jalapenos were a hit, since they were very fresh. I had the chicken Flautas and the serving was quite large. The chicken inside is all white meat and generous in portion. The beer selection was bigger than I thought it would be, so my husband was able to have his favorite, Negra Modelo. Soda refills are free. The place was busy for a Sunday night, with groups of customer coming in waves. The young ladies working there were very perky and appeared to really enjoy their job. They kept the tables bussed and cleaned and went around offering to bag up leftovers or get refills for those still eating. This is a great location in Riverside to get your Tex-Mex fix. I've come here several times now and another time for a Yelp Event which was amazing. More recently, we came here on a Saturday night and our host /server was fabulous. She gave us excellent service and she was so friendly and very attentive. Definitely order the Tijuana trio appetizer for $4.99. It's a great value. It is bottomless all-you-can-eat chips, salsa, queso and guacamole which is unheard of at most restaurants. Yes, bring on the unlimited guacamole and hot, melty cheese for me. Overall, the burritos and steak quesadillas are generous and delicious. I opted to snack on the AYCE trio and stole some bites from my sister's and boy's meals. We used gift cards and reward dollars which ended up being like $2 for our entire meals including beer. Sweet! Never ever knew what this place was, couldn't even guess. We were traveling and fighting on what to cook for dinner and ended up going to tia flats. I'd say it's like and in between of Moe's and Chipotle. Same concept, different flavoring. Walking in the first thing that through me off was how the menu was presented, behind the counter- weird. Also a thing I did not like about the menu was that while I was ordering I had to ask about add ons. The menu didn't state that ex: the chicken bowl comes with all the fillers, sour cream, lettuce, cheese etc. also make sure to ask for salsa because it's an up charge and they did not ask us if we wanted any, I'd just assumed it'd come on the bowl already.. The chicken bowl was good. It was seasoned better than moes I think, it wasn't better than chipotle in my opinion. It was incredibly filling and it also comes with a whole bag of chips that taste like Doritos. I'd go back but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Oh also while I was ordering they kept asking me if it was ok that the bowls came with raw jalepenos, kept questioning my tolerance for a little bit of heat.
