We came here for the first time on Cinco de Mayo with friends who highly recommended it, and it did not disappoint. We started with the complimentary chips and salsa, plus a side of queso both were delicious. My girlfriend and I ordered skinny margaritas lime which were super refreshing and really well made. My husband and I shared the chicken , steak and shrimp poppers. Could add a little more flavor but otherwise everything was cooked perfectly. To end the night, we had their warm mexican apple pie with cinnamon, ice cream, and caramel sauce, prepared right at the table. Such a fun touch and the perfect dessert. We stopped by Cantina Laredo after a shopping trip and I was so impressed. We were greeted warmly upon walking in and were seated immediately. The staff were awesome and our order was taken within minutes. We had chips and salsa brought over quickly which was so appreciated because we were hungry. Our guac appetizer was wonderful and we enjoyed a margarita while waiting for our food. My husband ordered the steak fajitas and I ordered the mole enchiladas. The food was fresh and the presentation was wonderful. The mole could have used a bit more seasoning of the chicken inside and maybe a little more salt. The cascabell (or however it's spelled) tacos are super yummy but spicyyyy. I don't like spicy things and my server forgot to give me the heads up. I still ate them bc despite the heat, they're yummy. Also, if you add a little rice to the taco it cools it down. I got the Veracruz enchiladas the next time I went and these were the bomb. Came here for a work event. The service was phenomenal for hosting 21 people. They have a small private room, but the seating is pretty tight for 21 people. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Food was pretty good. Happy hour specials are available. $7.50 house margaritas were a thumbs up. They can and will sneak up on you. They offer table side guacamole, offer chips and salsa for the table. Even queso. I ordered a small house salad. The cilantro lime vinegar dressing is a must. I have to start this review by first complementing Luci! First impression speaks volumes and this is $1 million hostess here! Her humor, genuine, smile, and professionalism go beyond reproach! Logan was our server and I have to say he was great! Very patient as the four of us kept talking and he wanted to know if we were ready to order and when we realized we were talking so much he just handled it like a true champ. Gave us our time to catch up and then came back. His knowledge of the menu was outstanding, and his recommendations were spot on. Each of us interestingly enough had tacos. The traditional taco was a bit salty from my taste, but had good flavor. The sirloin taco was outstanding. The restaurant is clean, warm and inviting. I attended a friends birthday party at Cantina Laredo in early March. We had the entire patio to ourselves. Our server Ali was fabulous! We had two tables of folks and she kept up with our food and drink orders like a champ (and with a smile)! I tried the ceviche and it was zesty and delish! Naturally, we started with the queso, it came out cheddar-based with tomatoes mixed in, which was different from what we usually get at other Mexican spots. For mains, I went with the chicken tacos topped with a pineapple dressing and my husband ordered the carne tacos. Both were fine, but honestly, the flavors fell flat, nothing memorable. Drinks were a mixed bag: the old fashioned leaned heavily sweet with a honey-like taste, while the spicy margarita brought a little more kick. The atmosphere is sleek and upscale, service is great, but with prices higher than most Mexican restaurants we've been to, I was hoping for food that matched the cost. I can't believe I waited so long (2 years) to come back here because I enjoyed it so much the first time and even more so now. The restaurant has a wide variety of food options including a delicious Carne Asada which was my choice today. The hostess was warm and friendly and the service only got better from there. The outside patio is dog friendly. Inside is large and suitable for couples up to larger groups. The ambiance is very warm and welcoming. Highly recommended. read more

We came for a work lunch with about 20 of us. We had the private room off the dining room which had plenty of space for us. The service was quick for a group our size but most of the restaurant was slow since it was a Friday afternoon around 1:30. They had a good selection of different options on the lunch menu and the pricing was good for the portion sizes. A lot of us got enchiladas and tacos and a fair amount got the Chipotle chicken. Cantina Laredo is one of my favorite places to eat. When we lived in Jacksonville, one of my friends introduced me to this wonderful restaurant and I fell in love with it. I love that you get a warm and cold salsa (warm is my favorite of the two) and my favorite dish is the Enchiladas Suizas. I don't live near here anymore but any time I see one (I spotted one in Dallas airport before) I make it a point to stop in and eat. This is our third try one time every year for the last three years to see if this place has improved. Why? Because we are Texas Tex-Mex fans, and we love their restaurants in Arkansas and in Texas. But the one here in Jacksonville leaves me speechless and not in a good way. I recall writing a Google review over five years ago about how outdated and dirty this restaurant was. Nothing has changed. After five years, nothing has changed. It's still dirty and in need of a desperate renovation. It makes me sad because they are sitting on a gold mine being located in St. John's Town Center with Jacksonville having no higher end Mexican food restaurant. And that's what this restaurant is in other states. They keep the crowd coming in because of its location, but the ambience and the decor and the food are severely lacking. Our waitress was fantastic. And the manager was good because she did address our concerns. However, I only took one picture because I was so exasperated and that is of this dish. I requested the pork Carnitas to be substituted for a fresh grilled chicken breast. Please look at the chicken. Not only is it not a fresh grilled chicken breast, but it's a pressed chicken breast - not a real chicken breast . It's more like a deli meat chicken breast cubed into my dish. All I had to do is look at it and send it back immediately. We also enjoyed the cheese dip and the tableside guacamole. The cheese dip was not true cheese dip, but rather a cheese dip mixture. But I have to give kudos because the tableside guacamole always rocks. It was delicious. Here's to hoping that the restaurant sees my yelp review. Bring back the Cantina Laredo quality that I know from other states. Return to your high dining upscale Mexican experience. Hey, guess what? Cantina Laredo has an awesome patio! A bunch of my friends went there this month and loved it. We were tucked away in a quiet corner, tons of room, and didn't bother anyone else. They treated us great, starting with margaritas for a toast. Then, fresh guacamole at our table, amazing ceviche and tacos with all sorts of various meats and gorgeous garden toppings plus rice and beans. I came here for happy hour with my husband and a friend on a Friday evening. It was not too crowded. Their happy hour is mon- Friday 4-7 PM. Took some out of town family here for lunch. Not my very favorite spot, but it is consistently good (not great) food. We started off with chips and salsa which was pretty good. I am not a fan of their salsa - I think they use fire roasted tomatoes? I prefer just fresh tomatoes for salsa. Chips were crispy, thin, and salty - which I do love! We also ordered some queso... it is one of the better quesos I've tried. I had pescado (mahi mahi) tacos. The sauce on them was good! The fish itself was pretty plain. Not much flavor to speak of. The mango on the tacos were good! Several people at the table got chicken enchiladas. One of the visitors was surprised they didn't have the red sauce (she didn't fully read the description so, no harm). Everyone who had them enjoyed them! Even the one who expected red sauce. Our server was amazing. Visited an appropriate amount and was easy to find for the check at the end. She was helpful in menu questions and explained specials well. I have been there more often in the evening and it can get quite loud (but not so much you can't hear your own conversation) but during lunch it wasn't super crowded and the volume was a pleasant level. I hosted a birthday dinner with 10 women here and it was excellent, primarily the service. When we arrived, they had already set the table with 10 waters and chips and salsa. The waitress, Isabel, was in good spirits and took our drink orders, apps, and then entrees in a timely manner while still giving us time to enjoy each other's company. The food was good as well, I ordered the Cancun plate which came with 2 enchiladas and a taco. Everything was more reasonably priced than I remember and the drink were good (and strong lol). A group of coworkers and I were at Cantina Laredo on 3/8/2025. We had a reservation at 7 pm. We were all there by 7 and had to wait an extra 25 minutes because there were people still at our table. Anyhow, we had a few stops to make at the Town Centre and decided we were eating here instead of heading back out to the beach. I voted to try this one. Little did we know it was Wine Wednesday and they offer Happy Hour each night. Dad and I ordered some great glasses of wine at half off. Chips and salsa to start and then two meals of chicken enchiladas and one vegetarian enchilada. The dishes were plentiful but lacked flavor. Not really sure about the flavor profiles.
