What an incredible little surprise in a tiny little town. We saw Tiger Town advertised in the Eastern Oregon tourism magazine and I was drawn by the hilarious add demanding we drink their beer or they'd punch us in the face. I was sold, and then blown away. Great beer, beyond kind staff, and the food was incredible. The waiter recommended the Greek nachos and this was one of the most unique and delicious things I have eaten anywhere. I also had to try the sticky toffee pudding being a half-Brit and it was incredible! Great beer selection too. But best of all was the sweet staff who gave us tons of great recommendations for things to do in the area beyond the obvious. We were only sad we could not return for a second night (to try the wings and other goodies, and to thank the staff and let them know how great their recs were so I am doing that here--THANK YOU!). Our plans took us in another direction but I will return again someday. This is such an amazing gem in the beautiful Painted Hills area. Nice going Tiger Town! read more

This is an incredible gem hidden in a tiny community in Eastern Oregon. I stopped in on a Monday and there were lots of guests but plenty of seating. Outdoor table area and a stage in the back for music. It seemed to be a good mix of travelers and locals. I had two beers and both were excellent. There's even an option to add ice cream to your beer. I got a huckleberry Lemon cider with huckleberry ice cream and I call it the Doc Holliday. The hospitality was above expected. Great atmosphere, great beer, great service, and a large selection of great food. Incredible place! read more

Excellent local brewpub near Painted Hills. I had the Danger Melon and bought some to take back to our AirBnB. My husband liked the wings he had okay, but my vegetarian curry dish was great. It's a small place and they cook everything in the truck out back. Definitely try one of the in-house beers, brewed on-site. read more

Who would've guessed? Mitchell is the only stop through for miles and who would imagine that you would be lucky enough to find a brewery with good food, beer, and good service. The town doesn't even have a stop light, but they have good beer! The atmosphere is a bit rough, looks like they are still transitioning, but don't let it prevent you from stopping in. It looks like the building was once a mechanics garage and the kitchen is in a trailer next door. A previous review mentions them being a food truck...so.... If you find yourself in Mitchell, likely because you are rockhounding...stop in and support this joint! read more

Really nice place compared to other restaurants in the area. I got the veggie stir fry which was pretty mediocre except for the tofu, which was the best I've ever had. My friends got the chicken strips and they said it was really good but chewy. Pretty decent service, drinks, and staff too. Definitely a good choice for the area. read more

We were surprised to find that our Airbnb did not have a kitchen, and we only had time to buy the most basic essentials from the grocery store on the way to Mitchell, so we were stuck wondering how we would get any hot food for the weekend. Enter Tiger Town. They fed us for the two nights we were in town with their tasty pub fare, washed down by some solid beer brewed in house, all served up by a very friendly staff. The smoked porter in particular was excellent. Food-wise, I highly recommend the wings and curly fries, and my husband really enjoyed his burger. They also have some more adventurous and vegetarian-friendly options, which was a welcome surprise. I've always loved this part of Oregon, especially the quirky little town of Mitchell, and now I have one more reason to come back. Thanks Tiger Town! See you next time. read more

Stopped in when my friend and I (plus our dogs) were exploring the Fossil Beds. The wings were so good, we came back the next day for the tenders! Their sauces are all homemade, and they make them fresh with each order, as I learned when I ordered a little dipping cup of extra for my fresh-cut fries and it came out 15 minutes later still warm. My partner and I dropped by because it's the latest place open. He ordered wings and fries and I had the vegetarian option on the menu--"left wings". After waiting more than an hour--I am not even exaggerating--I tried the food. The rice tasted stale at best, the "sauce" tasted like ultra vinegary tabasco sauce, and the "wings" were certainly not crispy. They were doused in the vinegary sauce and almost...slimy? And randomly had weird crunches in between? It was atrocious. The fries (which at this point I was counting on) were an extremely strange texture, almost rubbery, and very oily. My partner said his wings were okay. The beer growler we got was really cute and we love using it still. The outdoor atmosphere was also nice. Just an FYI for my fellow vegetarians: Don't come here for a meal. The Sidewalk Cafe has better options. read more

Came here when they first opened and loved the wings! Drove an hour out of our way on Sunday to get some food here. Arrived around 4pm, they were busy but not swamped, had tables open. We sat on the patio and no one even acknowledged we were there for at least 10 minutes. We were very thirsty and I eventually went inside and asked the 3 women, standing around doing nothing, if we're supposed to order inside or outside. No one was friendly, she just said someone will come to us. No one apologized for the wait, the waiter we had was some hipster older guy who wasn't friendly at all. We ordered a burger, wings and side of curly fries. The waiter never asked if we wanted any sauces for the wings and fries which are supposed to come with your choice. My husband ordered a beer and then sat with an empty cup for a long time after finishing it, no one ever asked if he wanted another, we had to chase down our waiter to get anything. Once we got the food, he never asked if we needed anything else, nor did he ever ask how our food was. The wings were good, burger good, curly fries super soggy. He talked to us as little as possible. Left the check on the table and never saw him again. Wanted to get to go containers, husband asked another server who said she would bring it out and never did. The 2 people next to us got great service by him though! He gave them suggestions for drinks, refills, talked to them a lot, apologized for their 1 minute wait at the table (but not our 10). He checked on them, TOTALLY opposite treatment. We have never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant before and we felt very judged (no idea about what). Will not be returning. read more

This is a fantastic place for a casual meal after hiking the Painted Hills or exploring the John Day Fossil Beds. Currently, they have a good truck, but they're expecting to have the brew pub finished this autumn. One of the owners took our order and chatted about the business. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and quirky. Their big focus is wings, which are smoked, before being tossed in one of their many sauces. I ordered the Mad Bomber (teriyaki with wasabi), which was perfectly spicy. My 10 y.o. ate most of them. I ended up eating most of his shrimp & rice bowl with Dar-Jeel-Wing sauce (coconut curry), which was also delicious. I also ordered a basket of fries that were good, although a bit greasy. I'm​ not a big beer drinker, but I enjoyed the pineapple cider. If we are in Mitchell again, I will definitely visit, especially if my husband (the actual beer drinker in the family) is along. I'd like to try out more of the wing sauces. Note: This isn't the best place for picky kids. My 8 y.o. tends to fall into that category. He doesn't like wings, so he ordered the chicken strips that come with rice. Strips of smoked chicken breast are dipped in a really light tempura batter -- not what he expected. You gotta love a town of 130 people that also boasts its own brewery. My daughter and I stayed for two nights at the Spoke'n Hostel and came to the brewery three times. (Hey, cycling and hiking make us hungry and thirsty!) Great hospitality from the staff, and other visitors and locals were friendly and eager to chat a bit and offer advice. Great beer, and the wings were excellent. We look forward to visiting again -- maybe when it's a little warmer. read more

The beauty of this brew pub was just how unexpectedly good it was. To say that Mitchell, Oregon is an out-of-the-way place is an extreme understatement. Tiger Town Brewing Company is tucked away in the small town of Mitchell near the John Day Fossil Beds National Monument. Though it was a 35 minute drive from the brewery to our campground on the John Day river my husband still wanted to return the next evening. Beer was great, food was awesome, and the service friendly and welcoming. A great find. read more

This is great and quite literally hole-in-the-wall in the heart of old town Mitchell. They seemed to be doing well, and no wonder - the wings & fries were outstanding, the sauces superb, and the beer (Malty Falcon) great too. I was super excited to find a place that not only offered good beer & wings in a rural part of OR, but also veggie wings!! Great beer, perfect atmosphere, and great staff! Stopped by during the Gambler 500 Winter Wonderland, and though we kept them busy, everyone was friendly, prompt, and they kept us in food and drinks. I ride from Prineville to tiger town for lunch once a month in spring/summer. It is a funky little place that is right up my alley. The beer is great, the wings are great, the service is excellent. It would be my regular weekend spot if it wasn't 100miles round trip. But watever it's worth it for a good lunch and a great motorcycle ride with friends. read more

We're staying at The Oregon Hotel after a day of driving and hiking (review on the hotel later). Walked down the street to this place for a dinner we were warned was "outside seating only". The food here is just fantastic. Those wings are fantastic. I remember that I had curry wings, jerk and why!?. There was a watermelon brew by them on draft at the time and it was refreshing. They also had montucky cold snack as well. It's definitely worth stopping in if you are nearby. read more
