Tiger burger was flaming good
Steve F.

This is hands down the best brewery experience in Mitchell. No, seriously, this would be true even if there was more than one brewery in town. We had a great dinner here during our road trip through central Oregon. The fish & chips had my wife oooing and ahhing over the huge portion of flakey haddock. Fries and slaw were spot on as well. I loved the Tiger burger, which had a perfect balance of heat from the jalapeños and the creamy tang of the crumbled blue cheese. I tried two beers, both of which were very tasty - the smoked porter and the witbier. They know what they're doing here and they do it right.

Delicious food and fast, friendly service! Everything was fresh and full of flavor. Great spot for a quick and satisfying lunch.

Second time we have eaten here. First time was right after they opened. Second time was yesterday. I had the BLT and my wife had the Italian Club. Both were excellent. Not at all what you might expect in a sleepy little town like Mitchell. Highly recommend!

Great set up! Indoor and outdoor seating.

We enjoyed our meal and service and would definitely return! We almost missed out on Tiger Town because we didn't realize there were more businesses down their road in Mitchell (they should add a sign or an a-frame on the main road). Don't forget to buy their beer!

Such a cute little town. Stayed here while visiting the 3 units of the John Day Fossil Beds National Park. So, glad I had read about Tiger Town Brewing before going. Beings we had no cell service to research anything once there. Had I not read reviews before going we probably would have just eaten the food we brought with us in our travel trailer. But, with such great reviews and the fact that we like to always support the local businesses at home and when we travel, we decided to have lunch here. Good food, awesome beer, and great friendly service. We even bought some beer to bring home and share with friends. So cool, they canned it and labled it right then and there while we waited. If you are in the area you must stop at Mitchel and Tiger Town Brewing! We might have to take a trip back to restock on beer and have a bite to eat.

Outside seating on the main street.

It sits in an old storefront on what feels like a once-vibrant main street. The cozy colorful lights are welcoming. They have a larger outdoor seating area, but on the freezing cold night I visited, I opted for a seat at the small bar. There were large boisterous parties nearby, it was clearly a popular spot. The beer selection is large, with various serving sizes. Flights of 4 are only $8 here. They also had a number of bottled and can selections, even some from other breweries. The bartender was very welcoming and friendly, as were other patrons so it ended up being a fun evening of beer and fun talk. If you're a beer fan, this is a must stop in Redmond. There are also other excellent breweries within walking distance.

As a celiac, I made so that they have a dedicated fryer for their fries/tater tots, and they did, so naturally I had to get those. I decided on the sweet potato tots and they were just delectable. I was also craving something fresh, so I got the BBQ Chicken bacon ranch salad. Perfect meal after driving for hours on end. We even came back the next day and I got the exact same meal. The servers were also very patient and knowledgeable. I don't live anywhere near here, but whenever I come back to the area I'll be sure to return to this restaurant.

Once you step inside you are transported to a killer brew pub dimension. The place was moderately busy for 1:30 on a Wednesday and we were immediately greeted by the bartender. We analyzed the tap list and narrowed it down quickly to the 3 IPAs brewed by these guys. We ended up trying all 3 and overall I would give the beer an 8 out of 10. I love a Boneyard RPM or Ft. George 3-way. I have been away from Oregon Craft for about a year so I am a little off my game but I didn't leave a drop in those pint glasses. We both ordered the smash burger and fries with some jalapeño aioli sauce. The fries were maybe the best fries I've ever had. I literally put my head down and chowed through them all before realizing I had a burger too. Smash burger is true to form dressed with melted cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato. The bun had been fried in magic sauce to a crispy texture before they built the burger. We were blown away at how good it was!! We went to Sunriver Brewing on Wednesday night and think Initiative won our personal award for that day!! Highly recommend you check it out and I want to go again before I have to leave town!!

The 7th Street location in Redmond looks like an older log cabin, with a large patio out front. It's conveniently located to downtown Redmond, easily walkable from other restaurants, bars, and breweries if you're staying nearby. Going inside, I quickly realized this was a friendly local place where people come and the bartender knows your name and order. I ordered two flights on my visit; all the beer was great. They have a number of core staples, plus a bunch of small batch beers you can read about on the chalkboard near the door. The bartender was immediately friendly and welcoming; I said it was my first time there and she told me it's the oldest not-for-profit brewery in Oregon, donating all their post-bill/payroll profits to local charities. I was also here at lunch time and ordered maybe the best tuna melt I've ever had - rich, buttery, and delicious. They have lots of beers packaged to go as well. If you're doing the Bend Ale Trail, this is a fun stop and worth venturing to Redmond for if staying in Bend.
