After a few hours hiking the Painted Hills we stopped by Tiger Town and what a gem. First a huge shout out to Heidi the host, bar tender and bus person. She was running the whole time we were there. But always had a smile on her face! Food and ambiance was what we were looking for. This is small town USA at its best. If you're passing through Mitchell Oregon you must stop! Tiger Town Brewing was on my list for breweries to try for a long time. So when we went to the area to see the Painted Hills we made sure to stop here for lunch and to try their beers. I will get to the beers first. We tasted several different ones and unfortunately we didn't feel very impressed. Some of the beers had an odd aftertaste to them. But in the end we settled on the Tokyo Chad. This was a Japanese Rice Lager and we liked this beer relatively well. Not the best Japanese Lager we have ever come across but it was okay. Flavor features in this beer is biscuity and grainy. What we liked best about Tiger Town was the food. I got their cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese and their Sidewinder Fries (similar to French Fries only curvy) were excellent. Everything with the meal tasted good and fresh. The atmosphere is fun and has some quirks going on with it mainly with the pictures they have hung up in the dining area. Staff was very good. They were attentive and very friendly and cheerful to interact with. If we are back in the area we would certainly come here for the food again as we were very impressed with it. We just weren't too terribly wild about the beer. read more

This is hands down the best brewery experience in Mitchell. No, seriously, this would be true even if there was more than one brewery in town. We had a great dinner here during our road trip through central Oregon. The fish & chips had my wife oooing and ahhing over the huge portion of flakey haddock. Fries and slaw were spot on as well. I loved the Tiger burger, which had a perfect balance of heat from the jalapeños and the creamy tang of the crumbled blue cheese. I tried two beers, both of which were very tasty - the smoked porter and the witbier. They know what they're doing here and they do it right. read more

My hubby wanted to try this place for a while. Glad we finally did. Agree, very small town but this is a hidden gem. He had a couple of their beers F'N 10 and Buck's Electric. I had a lemon drop and a Margarita which were made fresh squeezed! Food we had the appetizer sampler and Tiger wings. Everything was delicious. We will go back. We are already telling our friends and family about it. Next time, we're ordering their fish and chips and burgers. We stopped in at Tiger Town Brewing yesterday after a long drive and were hungry. The place was not overly busy with a few open tables. We ordered two burgers, a beer and diet coke. After 30 minutes our waitress told us our order would be right out. After another 15 minutes I walked to the windows where you can view the kitchen and no one was in the kitchen. Nothing was on the grill, nothing was being cooked. At 50 minutes after we ordered our waitress came and told us it would be an additional 15 minutes because an order for a 6 top was in front of ours. There was still no one in the kitchen. We paid for our drinks and left. The three tables around us had the same situation and left as well. No apology form the waitress that was lying to us, no offer to comp our drinks. The place had five waitresses but no back up cook. The table next to us said it was the same experience as the last time they had stopped when they waited 90 minutes for their burgers. read more

Second time we have eaten here. First time was right after they opened. Second time was yesterday. I had the BLT and my wife had the Italian Club. Both were excellent. Not at all what you might expect in a sleepy little town like Mitchell. Highly recommend! read more

Mitchell has a slice of my heart, as I've been rolling through this tiny town all my 51 years en route to the family property. The family property is since sold, but I still keep coming back to visit the landscape, say hi to some locals and imprint new visuals/memories into this cinderblock. I had been meaning to check out Tiger Town for some time and boy am I glad that I did. Goldie our server was as friendly and welcoming as could be and some other nice fella (I'm guessing chef/brewer?) lit a fire for us outside during our meal. I was pleased to see a Beyond Burger on the menu, thank you so much for having plant based options. The burger was done right and was accompanied with the usual veg-set of lettuce, tomato, pickles and onion. The fries that came with were some of the best I'd ever had. My dining companion enjoyed his Stout beer very much. We enjoyed our experience and food here - thanks guys, we'll be back! read more

Beer is very good. Worth stopping by. But for me the highlight has been their Ruben sandwich. But they dropped it from the menu. So only 4 stars. Noticed a couple of negative reviews of service. My guess is that the reviewer acted entitled and the server responded to that attitude. This is not the place to treat servers with an attitude. What a gem! We stopped in after a surprise snow on our hike and found this cozy stop. Potato salad season officially changed that day to soup season. I enjoyed the styles of beer and finally stopped at three moving on to try the smoked whisky manhattan. So good! Thankfully there was food the bartender brought in from a food truck and help soak up so much goodness! Pita salad and bacon cheeseburgers hit the spot. I think Tiger Town classifies as the most remote craft brewery in Oregon; easily 60 miles to a community larger than 130! It is the local watering hole, and also a well-known stop for travelers. Great food, house-crafted beers were as well! Servers were attentive, despite it being crazy busy. Took several small crowlers back to our RV; needed to because their slogan is "Buy our beer, or we'll punch you in the face"! Actually didn't need the coercion. You have to stop in! read more

Such a cute little town. Stayed here while visiting the 3 units of the John Day Fossil Beds National Park. So, glad I had read about Tiger Town Brewing before going. Beings we had no cell service to research anything once there. Had I not read reviews before going we probably would have just eaten the food we brought with us in our travel trailer. But, with such great reviews and the fact that we like to always support the local businesses at home and when we travel, we decided to have lunch here. Good food, awesome beer, and great friendly service. We even bought some beer to bring home and share with friends. So cool, they canned it and labled it right then and there while we waited. Stopped in for lunch Sept 30th. Specials were brat with sauerkrout and tomotoe basil soup. Both were super good. The service was top notch. My wife and I will stop by next time through the area for sure I noticed everyone else were loving there food and beer also. What a great find! An eclectic menu and fine beers in a most unexpected place. I survived the atomic wings! Careful though, they're not kidding when they say they're hot. They warned me like 3 times that it was going to melt my face off, and it's true. My face remained in its solid phase only due to years of capsaicin resistance training - I am to capsaicin as Wesley is to iocane in The Princess Bride. Definitely recommend the "Greek nachos" which I would have eaten more of had my tongue been functioning better after those wings. And I recovered in time to try their signature sticky toffee pudding, which was also a hit. So if you're driving through Mitchell, stop here! You won't regret it! read more

Om nom! After a long day driving and sightseeing, we had an appetite. A friend recommended Tiger Town (she's picky) so we knew we'd have a good meal. And yes, it was delicious! Service was friendly and fast and prices were very reasonable, especially this far out. I had the greek nachos. The pita chips were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and seasoned to perfection. I could have eaten a pile of these alone. The nachos part was super tasty, like a big greek salad. A hidden gem in a really tiny town. We came into town for Christmas week, to add a jr ranger badge to our little girls growing collection. (that was not happening with gov shutdown) The 3 cafes in town were also not open the 5 days we visited, however this gem was. Gotta say the fries and wings were delicious. Goldie makes excellent drinks. She is friendly and we are very happy they are an option in Mitchell. We will definitely be back to get that jr ranger badge, and this will be our first choice for food and drinks. Even our picky little girl loved this place. I've gotta be really honest, I was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was here. It's in a tiny town in rural Oregon, so my expectations weren't terribly high. I figured they'd be out of ingredients due to supply issues and the food would be mediocre. I'm pleased to report I was completely wrong. I ordered the Reuben and was impressed with how delicious it was. Every menu item we ordered was available, and everyone loved their meal. My sandwich was just big enough to be filling, but not so big that I needed to bother with leftovers. The house made potato salad was also super yummy. I didn't get to try any of their brews, sadly. They managed to fit our large group of 9 in without a ridiculous wait time. We sat outside under umbrellas which was great because it was hot, but also started raining at one point. My wife and I just got back from some hot walks at Painted Hills and needed some food and drink. We recall driving through a small town with a brewery, and what better destination than that premise alone? We weren't disappointed. I ordered a gyro with Cajun fries, and my wife ordered a Pittsburgh sandwich with curly fries. Let's not forget the beer! A scotch ale for the first, a cider for the second, and we'll see what's next. My gyro was good, but I tried the Pittsburgh and it is FREAKING PHENOMENAL! Luckily, my wife didn't finish it, so it'll be a nice snack for later. The tots? Good, but even better with the (guaranteed good) fry sauce. I've had fry sauce a few times and swore it off, but this stuff is actually pretty great! It's what all the other fry sauces aspire to be, and that's a solid position to hold. Stopped here to get some quick dinner after a long hike. The Shrimp Po Boy was mehhh but the chicken wings were incredible. They were beautifully smoked and tender and flavorful. The wasabi-teriyaki sauce was neither wasabi nor teriyaki, it was just really really sweet and I wish I'd gotten a different sauce with them instead.
