I really liked Tiger Sugar! This place is in a food court area of Coronado Mall and offers a hugeeeeeee selection of boba/asian-inspired tea/drinks! Personally, I loved their Tiger Mango Sago. I loved the sweetness and the sago that were hard to find in other boba shop. The texture of the drink may be a bit unusual to people who had not had sago/boba, but to me, it's such a perfect combination! The only thing I wished they could do is to customize sweetness for this drink for me. Unfortunately, I think they already had mango drink already made, so I couldn't reduce the smount of sugar intake that I would have like to intake to be a little bit more healthy! Consistently a weird texture when drinking. The taro I understand having a thicker texture since (as they explained), they use the vegetable. But I still don't understand why there's a weird chewy texture on the Thai tea option, and the two other random flavors I've tried. Even the boba tastes off. This tiger sugar bobba definitely surpassed my expectations. The bobba is fresh and delicious compared to big chains that have it frozen. They offer various forms of dairy and nondairy options. The employees assisted with recommendations and suggestions. It is located inside the Coronado mall where you will expect a lot of noisy background and of course sitting in the food fourth but definitely worth getting a drink while doing your shopping. I've been here before and last time it was much better. We got the strawberry mochi and the passion fruit boba (F2 and F3). The mochi one tasted awesome but the texture was weird to us. The passion fruit had so many seeds I felt like I needed a separate cup to spit them out into. The people working weren't very friendly except to each other. Don't know why it has such low reviews, but I'm glad they finally have one here in Albuquerque and its cheap in comparison to a bunch of other places here in town. I'm a frequent visitor to the mall, and every time I go there, I make it a point to stop by Tiger Sugar for their amazing boba tea. It's safe to say that Tiger Sugar has become my go-to spot for boba tea in all of Albuquerque. What sets them apart is not just the taste but the authenticity of their Taiwanese boba tea. It's funny, though, that the sign translations are done quite poorly, which somehow adds to the charm and confirms that this place is the real deal. It is FAR better than Boba Tea Company in the mall, which is always too sweet and tends to taste very artificial. Ask for low sugar! read more

Today, August 19th @ 12 PM was the grand opening. Of course I went because of the Hello Kitty x Tiger Sugar collaboration, I love Hello Kitty and I also love boba. I've never tried Tiger Sugar before, but the pictures of the drinks looked so good so I knew I had to try it. Now having tried 2 of the drinks, I can say I was extremely underwhelmed. The first drink I tried was the Hello Kitty Crush, essentially it was just strawberry milk with boba. The strawberry flavoring tasted very artificial. The second drink I had (can't remember the name) just tasted like plain milk with hints of coffee, with coffee jelly and boba. The boba has a good texture, but wasn't sweet at all. Before ordering, I asked the woman cashier a question about one of the drinks I bought. She just stared at me and didn't answer my question and was even chuckling at me because I asked her "What's in this drink?" I thought that was very rude of her. Now since it was the grand opening and the collaboration, of course it was very busy so I can understand that some of the workers felt overwhelmed and rushed. Still I don't believe that was a good reason to treat a paying customer in such a rude way. I definitely won't be going back. read more

Came during the grand opening and it was cute. However, my drink tasted mostly like milk. Waiting 2 hours in line it was very underwhelming.

After reading the reviews stating the drinks were bland, I wanted to see if my definition of bland was the same. It is not. We ordered three drinks. The signature, the signature plus pudding and the mango sago. Starting with the Customer Service, the cashier was friendly, he even explained why each item was sold out. They make the puddings, sago/boba fresh throughout the day, and instead of serving a sub-par product, they forgo menu items until they're to the right standards. The boba and sago were perfect, cooked to just the right consistency, not overly sweet and the combination of both provided a subtle textural difference that was delightful. Both the signature drinks are milk-based, the brown sugar, or tiger stripes, giving all the sweetness and flavor to the drink, as they instruct, shaking it 15 times is a must for proper syrup distribution, nothing but positive feedback about these two; the drinks were a prefect sweetness level and also described as, "really delicious boba." Another opinion from the group was the quality, texture and taste of the signature drink rivaled the great boba shops in Las Vegas.The mango sago was exactly what I wanted out of a boba drink, tangy and creamy, but also a textured paradise; sago, mango nata and one more fruit that could have been either lychee or preserved watermelon was reminiscent of the ubiquitous Asian ice-based dessert with sweet beans, evaporated milk and varied fresh, sweetened or preserved fruits. A definite treat, we will return to the standard beverage counter- service-in-a-mall outfit soon and frequently. read more
