As much as I love Tiger Plate, I am 0/4 for getting my order right the past 4 times I've been here so I have to downgrade the stars for the bad service. 5 stars for taste, 2 stars for service (friendly nice service but horrible at getting orders right). Literally zero of my last 4 visits here have they gotten my order correct which is inexcusable because I park, walk inside the restaurant, order with the man who takes my order on the computer and then I look at the order and look at my receipt and my order is correct but then that man never makes my order right! The first two times this happened I didn't realize until I had driven like 10minutes away so I just suffered. The third time this happened I remembered and checked my order in the parking lot then walked right back in and had him give me all the items he left off. The fourth time it happened was today and I forgot they perpetually get my order wrong and I had already gotten home by the time I opened my order = Aghghghhhh So frustrating!! And it isn't like that man just forgets my furikake or something minor.....he forgets major things where I just have a skeleton of a poke bowl: Today for example I only got: 2 scoops of salmon, 1 scoop of imitation crab and 1 scoop of seaweed salad. That is it! Just 3 things in my poke bowl!!! That's egregious these errors! I was missing 1 scoop of fish and like all of my add ons and I didn't even get a base so my bowl was so empty! It's a shame because he's always nice but jeez after 4 times in a row that is unacceptable and I am super annoyed!
I came here during my lunch break at work to satisfy a poke craving. I'm not sure how to feel about it... I saw that this place had good reviews and the photos looked pretty appetizing so I wanted to try it for myself. I got the traditional shoyu and subbed tuna out for salmon. I was not expecting the protein to be that heavily drenched with soy sauce. It was actually pooled at the bottom of the plate, even drenching the rice and became the sole overwhelming flavor. The service was good. The worker was friendly and helpful when I had questions. There's a few tables inside but maybe don't bring a big group. It can be somewhat loud since music is playing and also depending on if others are inside the restaurant. For perspective, there were only two other people in the restaurant and I could hear their voices echoing when I sat on the other side. Mind you, they weren't speaking that loudly either. Overall, I can't say I can recommend this just yet, but I do want to give it another try and try something else off the menu and see if my opinion changes.
Poke and Nachos! I never knew such a combination was so good until I tried Tiger Plate way back. I have been here several times and the poke has always been fresh. I like to order the kids size Poke Nachos when you are not super hungry or by the pound (12 oz which is enough for 3-4 people) and add their freshly made tortilla. I've ordered online and in person and the service has been great. There are some seating inside but not much. The good 1. Salmon & Tuna - These are my go to proteins. They have always been fresh with that slight melting in your mouth sensation. 1. Spicy Mayo + Sweet & Spicy Yuzu - This is my go to sauce! I love this mix. Though I like to kick it up a notch by adding some more siracha sauce. 2. Variety of Toppings and Garnishes - I love the variety and like to add practically all of them!
A nice little poke shop for poke lovers to try out. They also have some varieties of spam Musubi to try out as well. You can either build your own bowl or try one of their many specialty bowls. It was a hard choice for me but I tried their Spicy Mayo Bowl and a Spam Avocado Musubi to go along with it. Unlike most poke places, here the bowl are made in the back where you don't get to see them build your bowl. The Spam Musubi was delicious. Just the right freshness and I loved the fact that it wasn't pre-made and wrapped in saran wrap just to be microwaved. The Spicy Mayo bowl was tasty too. It had a nice touch with the macadamia nuts and the spice level was just good.
Was working in town and decided to get some yummy food. This small restaurant has about 20 seats. Island vibe! I got the spicy mayo bowl and I had to try their spam musubi with avocado. I spent $32 bucks with tip and a drink. Service was top notch and helpful. The spam musubi was a meal in itself, but I had to go for the bowl. Delicious! Layers of flavor with seaweed salad, cucumber, avocado, spicy tuna, shrimp, and rice. It was Da Bomb!!
The workers were friendly as soon as we walked in. So off the bat, we felt welcome. It's a little small but they have a few small tables to dine in. I ordered the poke nachos ($11). It was delicious and the tuna tasted fresh. I'd come back again.

You get to pick 1 dressing and I chose spicy mayo. Unlimited toppings. They had mango and I always love putting mango on top of my poke. Unfortunately, they were out of it. I hope next time I come they have it. I found the portion to be kind of small compared to other poke places, but personally I still left full. (Tbh american portion sizes are crazy, so this was a proper amount of food) lol. They also have sushi rolls here which was cool. Food came out super fast. I also ate it super fast. Easy parking. I would recommend giving it a try for a quick, no frills poke bowl if you're in the area.
Came here to try their poke since it was recommended by a friend and it was pretty decent. I really enjoyed the combination of their sauces and poke together. I can't say it's one of the best I've had, but it wasn't too bad. For the price, I did expect it to taste a bit better, with more varieties. Their tuna was also slightly frozen, and their fish didn't taste as fresh as the other poke places I've been to. They also charge you for water sadly. However service was great, and it's a cute little spot. Not sure if I would come back.

There was only one man working and he was super friendly, accommodating as it was my first time there and checked in with multiple people eating there. I came later in the day, but I can't wait to make this my go-to lunch spot.

To cost-save on eating but still provided with a great taste - I typically go for the Kids (3oz) bowl @ $10.50 - a perfect portion for me! I also do LOVE their Poke Nachos @ $10.50. This is the place to get it! Their tortilla chips are thick and generally holds most of the crunch even after 1/2 hour - 1 hour of not eating it immediately. It reminds me of the poke nachos from Poke to the Moon (closed earlier this year). I typically order online for pick-up because I get to control the customizations to my liking. Under Special Requests - they allow you to choose Light Sauced (Mixed), Extra Sauce (Mixed) or Separate Base/Fish and they allow you to select a sauce if you want it to drizzle over your bowl. I love sauces so I take advantage when I can. For their rewards program, for every visit you make you earn 1 point. When you get to 10 points you get 10% off the entire sale or 20% of entire sale when you collect 20 points. Sometimes they'll email out discounts - just gotta keep an eye out for those. So worth using. Oh check in on Yelp app and you do get a free soda can drink. Great location in Costa Mesa on Bristol. Parking can be a bit tough to find if you go during their busy rush times and weekend. If you're a poke lover you gotta try Tiger Plate!

In a shopping center with a ton of restaurants, which leads to a jammed parking lot if you go during prime time. They have valet because of this. This place is order at the register with only a few indoor tables. Casual atmosphere. When we went in Sept 2026, there seemed to be literally only one employee (maybe the owner?), so service was extremely slow. The guy was friendly, though. I understand it's challenging to run a restaurant in this day and age, but come on! We split poke nachos, taco, tiger pocket, roll, and 4 spam musubi. Pick your own protein for the taco, pocket and roll. Nachos comes with tuna. Everything was great! Wife said nachos were too spicy, but I didn't think so. Heads up just in case you're sensitive. Enough food for 2 adults and 2 young kids. $55 including tax and small tip. read more
We made a quick pit stop to Tiger Plate while we in the OC. The pictures on yelp all looked so delicious. We only wanted to get a quick bite so we opted for the Spam Musubi. The location is quaint with minimal seating. The staff working took care of our order and made our orders as well. The location was less than an hour before closing when we came in, but we never felt rushed. Our Avocado Musubis were ready very fast. We took it to go and enjoyed them the car. The musubi had great ratio of spam and rice. Some spots skimp or the spam is thinly cut. Tiger Plate did not do any of that. The combo of avocado and spam was an interesting mix, and it had the tasty umami flavor. I'd love to try the other options. This spot seems popular per all the reviews and if we found ourselves in this area again. I wouldn't mind popping by again. ( ^_^)b read more

My fiancée picked up the order for us today during the noon and it seemed like they missed a few things in our order. They forgot my avocado in my order and the mango for his order. I recommend you guys to check your order before leaving just incase. I got medium bowl and my fiancée got large; we were both still hungry after. Also, I read several reviews where their poke bowls get too saucy and they were right.. so if you don't want too much sauce, ask for less. I didn't want to risk it and left it as is, big mistake. I got the house shoyu and spicy mayo, which were pretty good though. I also like how they slice their cucumbers! Other than that, probably won't come back read more

First time trying their poke bowls and it was amazing!! I got a medium bowl with salmon and tuna, and imitation crab. I love the portion of the food, the flavor was amazing the tuna and salmon tasted soo yummy and fresh the rice also. The service was great as well plenty of seating inside and also outside of the restaurant as well. Definitely will come again! read more
I'm a little obsessed with this poke place and im not sure why because I don't think its amazing but I can't stop eating it?? Something about this place is so simple and I love it. The fish seems really fresh and I prefer the texture of the fish here more than elsewhere. I also enjoy that there are fewer topping options here because poke topping options out there are getting a little crazy imo. Their spicy chili is a bit too salty for me. The shoyu is good, but my favorite is the spicy mayo (I just love mayo). I love that I can get sliced cucumbers as a base here as well. read more

Placed a to-go order for lunch on a random Thursday at 2 PM. It's located in a plaza with lots of Japanese restaurants, bakeries, and markets so would've loved to explore if I had the time. The place was empty and the sole employee was NOT happy to see me. I don't know how it's possible to show off that you're grouchy, bored, and unwelcoming when all you're doing is handing me a plastic bag, but she managed to do it. Kind of impressive actually. I got a small spicy chili salmon and tuna poke bowl and a spicy mayo salmon inari "tiger pocket." Ingredients were fresh and generous with the toppings. The tiger pocket was solid, but the spicy chili sauce on the poke bowl was oily and way too salty. I should've gotten the spicy mayo for both but oh well and I won't say next time because there won't be one. I'm sure there's plenty of poke places (in SoCal of all places) that has kinder service and both menu items aren't worth returning for. Good experience but I'll leave it at that. read more

I stumbled on Tiger Plate on Sunday early afternoon after leaving ramen place nearby. I wanted to try Spam Masubi and their ice-cream looked delicious. I did not try anything else. After eating some super salty ramen I wanted something sweet to take the salty pork taste away. Their rice/seaweed/spam and sauces were great - a good snack for sure. Guava drink was lightly sweet with a smooth taste - delicious. Ice-cream was also lightly sweet and soft/smooth - definitely beats Dairy Queen's Reese Butter Cup Blizzard (lol). CHECK-IN on YELP for a drink. The gentleman who helped me with my order was very friendly and helpful. There are tables inside and outside to sit down and eat. I have not tried any other dishes yet. Parking - it can be packed since there are many other restaurants nearby but seemed like people come and go so I did not have trouble finding parkings. read more

Door Dash to the rescue! Good food at Tiger Plate. I ordered the Poke Nachos and the Tiger Pockets - both were very good. The nachos chips were thick and crispy. I like that they didn't get soggy with the sauce, and they kept their crunch. I ended up keeping the Tiger Pockets in my hotel fridge and eating it the next day. It was delicious, even as leftovers. I received my food quickly via Door Dash. Ordering was easy and seamless, and the delivery went well. I would definitely patronize Tiger Plate again. read more

The salmon was really good and a bright healthy color , imitation crab meat was delicious and the pineapple dole ice cream was super good. The owner was working and was very sweet and attentive. Not a long line at all , I'll be back and try more of their sweets as well. read more
I wish I had taken more pictures to display the generous portions of the meals. Quick and friendly service, and very reasonably priced. I tried to create your own bowl, the tiger wrap, and one salmon pocket all for about $28 dollars. More than enough food, in fact it was my lunch and dinner. I like a reliable, cost efficient, and varied poke place. I especially enjoyed the tiger wrap, unique take and I wish more places offered this sort of wrap. Flavors were deliciously combined. It's a small restaurant with enough seating for their customers, I will be coming back in the future. read more

Obsessed in an understatement... I eat here at least once a week. Traditional shoyu bowl is out of this world. I get mine with both ahi tuna and salmon. The owner is SO INCREDIBLY KIND. May god bless him. And there is a gal who works a bit more often than the others, she is so incredibly sweet and personable. She knows my order by heart. The other girls are wonderful too. My friend and I came here for a light bite and their food did not disappoint! I think I may now have a tofu pocket addiction... The cashier was super nice and helpful. She was extremely familiar with the menu and recommended me different items based on my preferences! The portion of fish is generous and tastes fresh. I personally ended up preferring the tofu pocket over the handroll, but both are yummy! read more

Pretty good find! Location and Parking - It's in a strip mall with a lot of other good food spots. So parking wasn't that easy, especially since a good section of the lot was sectioned off for complimentary valet parking (but we all know that means we have to pay tip). But we eventually found a spot. This place had some outdoor patio seating (very limited), so it helped since we had our dog with us. Service - very friendly and helpful! Can't complain at all. The ambiance of the place was clean, easy to read the menu, and the two girls there were really nice. Food - Although I loved the food overall, they do skimp out on sauce. The poke bowl was left with a bit of extra rice and it would've been great to eat if it had more sauce. The poke nachos too. A lot of chips left without sauce to enjoy them with. But the fish quality is good and their toppings are great! And you cannot go wrong with the Dolewhip soft serve. Spam musubi was alright. It satisfied a craving, but rice was a little tough. You can tell they made it ahead of time since they wrapped it in plastic wrap and it was flimsy. read more
