Really good panko tacos! Sushi wasn't being served last evening no problem,we got poke bowl. My husband LOVES their swordfish tacos. He also recommends their clam chowder

I love checking out different poke spots. Located inside Pacific City, this place offers a nice view of the beach. There's patio seating that overlooks the ocean and additional seating right outside of the restaurant in the food hall. The ordering process is simple; if you order a poke bowl, you would fill out a piece of paper indicating your base, choice of poke, toppings, and sauce, and you hand it to the cashier. They have a display of the fish that they offer which helps if you are deciding what to choose. Service is friendly and efficient. I ordered a poke bowl with white rice, 1/4 lb of salmon, 4 toppings (crunchy chili garlic, furikake, pickled ginger, and seaweed salad), and Tommy sauce. The rice was cooked fine and wasn't mushy. However, I think that the salmon was a bit mushy and not as fresh as I hoped. 1/4 lb of salmon is pretty generous though and was a good amount of fish. The toppings were fresh--I just wished that I hadn't gotten the crunchy chili garlic. Wasn't bad, but didn't elevate my poke bowl how I wanted. Also wished that I could have chosen more toppings. The Tommy sauce is their special sauce that's like mayo and is quite flavorful. The poke bowl is on the pricier end, so I probably wouldn't get that if I were to come back but would probably try a burrito instead.

I've been looking for the best ahi tuna, and this place might be on top! The marinate the tuna is in is so yummy and it has a little bit of a kick to it! I appreciate the complimentary tortilla chips it's served with. Clam chowder was fine, average! We opted for salmon on the burrito we ordered, and it was delicious. So fresh...! Came around 2pm today (Friday) and service was real quick and we were able to get nice seating out in the patio. Beautiful view of Huntington Beach! I see myself coming back :-) Thank you Bear Flag Fish!

Resting on the coast just before an unbelievable golden sunset cascaded behind the iconic Huntington Beach Pier, I settled in to begin the evening with a generous serving of Peruvian ceviche, amazing tortilla chips that make the perfect scoop, and a refreshing Moscow Mule. I highly suggest making this delightful combination of flavors part of the foundation for the beginning of a great night.

We sat at the sushi bar and ordered there. It was a very busy day so it took a little while for the food and drinks to come out, but once they did it was fantastic. The margarita was well balanced and the poke was spicy but not overly spicy. The omakase that my friends ordered looked amazing. Great food would come back again.

Might've been an off day for the fish or my taste buds but I didn't feel like the poke was that great my recent visit a couple weeks ago. I got the tuna, salmon, guacamole, and ceviche and chips. I hadn't been here for several years and was craving it with the memory that it's one of the best, but this time was underwhelming. It was fine, but I wouldn't prefer here over other poke places anymore, at least from this experience. Service was good and quick. It was not a busy day which is a plus - no line!

One of the best poke spots in SoCal! Been going here since I was in high school and it's still amazing. We ordered 1/2 pounds of the salmon and tuna poke, 1/2 pound of the guac and chips, and a small clam chowder. Everything was fantastic and fresh. More than enough to share with 3 people! Staff are very sweet and love their sauces on the side.

I've loved Bear Flag for years! I typically go to their Newport spot but recently tried out the HB location in the Pacific City mall. I got a 1/2 lb to-go order of the tuna poke which came with a free bag of tortilla chips. For the quality of fish, it's not a bad deal. I think the tuna was around $22/lb, my order came out to be $11. The poke marinade has good flavors of chili, sesame oil, and scallions. The line moves quickly, and the workers are very no-nonsense lol. It's a great meal to take to the park for a picnic! Next time, I'd love to eat at the restaurant for the oceanside view :)

Ordered an Ahi Poke bowl on a Saturday night. The restaurant was pretty busy but I liked that you could fill out a form and hand it off to the cash register for easy ordering if you're doing poke. Food came out in about 5 minutes or so. The poke bowl itself was solid but unspectacular. I thought the fish was pretty fresh but the sauce was lacking in flavor (I got the spicy sauce). They have a good variety of toppings. I thought that while everything was good, the toppings overpowered the Ahi a bit. The restaurant itself was a little tight indoors but has a great patio overlooking PCH and the beach. If you come here for dinner, you can get a great sunset view!

Wasn't my choice to go here because I hate this location but it's super convenient spot for poke by the beach. Anyways, ordered the usually salmon poke and I HATE that they don't weigh the amount in front of you OR fill it up all the way (see photo). And instead they give you a huge tray of their terrible chips. I always feel scammed and there always seems to be people who don't know how to queue. Really annoyed. Tried the ceviche for the first time and at least they fill that up. Super refreshing on a hot, sunny day.

You cant go wrong with this place. It's located at the end of a food hall. It's beside a coffee shop and a sports bar. You can have full service if you sit at the bar or the sushi bar. But if you wanted to be more independent.... head to the counter. You can order your poke by answering a sheet... Other than that... The calamari were pretty good not rubbery The mussels and clams were nice cooked with white wine... the bread with it is okay. The fish tacos were nice but a little pricey as it's 6 per. The ceviche were just okay... served with nachos. You could get your own utensils, plates, sauces and also water at the counter. Parking is free for the first 2 hours during weekends and 3 during weekdays. Just need to validate. Paid almost 60 for 4 dishes. 2 tacos, mussels and clams, calamari, and ceviche

Nice location at Pacific City with a beach view. They offer a good selection of fish options for tacos and burritos. We opted for the salmon and wahoo burritos, a shrimp platter, and a California roll. Overall, the food was good but thought it was a little pricey for what you get, especially the shrimp platter

I liked the single-serve salmon portions, as well as ready-to-heat-and-eat meals that Amazon Fresh had. Someone recommended that I check out Wild Fork - also on Brookhurst (at Adams) - so off I went! I stopped by on an early Sunday morning - so luckily, the parking lot was practically empty, as was the store. Immediately upon entering I noticed how bright and clean the store was, wide aisles, everything was organized in its own little section. I started off on one corner and just browsed my way through. Nina - one of the store clerks here - chanced upon me and asked if I needed help finding anything. I told her it was my first time - and she took it from there! Extremely friendly, warm and welcoming - she explained the store's color coded system, pointing out the exotic meats section (they have alligator/crocodile here!!), beef - including wagyu, pork, sausages (they literally have two freezer sections of sausage/chorizo), meals/appetizers, and my favorite section - seafood/fish. After I shared with her my sadness over Amazon Fresh closing - especially because I liked their single-serve salmon portions - Nina pointed out their salmon offerings, and mentioned that their salmon portions are also single-serve, flash frozen (so they stay fresh longer) - but showed me how they were individually wrapped within their own packaging. I picked up a few salmon entrees based off Nina's recommendations, and my own tastes. I know a few people have raved about their frozen pasta meals - so I grabbed a few of those boxes too. Checkout was a breeze - Nina helped me at checkout and shared that the store occasionally has BBQs on the weekends. Wild Fork is definitely a new favorite - hoping to come back and check out the other offerings depending on how everything I bought turns out! Awesome service and introduction to a new customer - thanks, Nina!

I wish they included pricing on their posts to allow us to budget better before being on site. They are very much on the pricier side but for the most part that is justifiable with what you get. I picked up some spot prawns at $45/lb, 4 pieces ran me about $25 but those were so fresh I would get them again. I also picked up scallops. I did expect them to be fresh but they were completely frozen so I am not sure when they harvested them and the scallops themselves were a tad on the smaller side, at about $33 for a 17oz bag that seemed a bit steep. Most of their fish range from $32-35 per pound and their Mexican white shrimp were $25/lb. I do very much plan to come back but this would not be a frequent stop for me

For produce, quite a few items were cheaper than H Mart, including enoki mushrooms, Japanese yam, daikon, shiitake mushrooms, tofu, and carrots. That said, the Japanese yam didn't look very fresh this time, so I ended up skipping it and buying it at H Mart instead, even though it was a bit more expensive. Some items were priced about the same as H Mart, like napa cabbage ($0.99/lb), onions ($0.39/lb), and bean sprouts ($0.99 per pack). One change I noticed is that cucumbers are now pre-packaged instead of being sold loose, so you can't pick them individually anymore. They're also slightly more expensive than H Mart now.
