I would give this business negative stars if I could, I have never been more pissed off by a business in my life.
I recently had a baby and was feeling behind on house stuff and needed some help getting my home back in good shape. I decided to hire Tidy.com to complete a deep cleaning of my 1800 sq ft home because of the ease of the app and the ability to add specific "to-do" requests. I was heading out of town with my baby so I figured that would be the perfect time to have someone come and clean while we would be out of their way.
I requested two cleaners for four hours at the rate of $275. They state on their website that this amount of time with two cleaners is sufficient enough to do a very good, deep clean of the whole home. On their website they list EXACTLY what they will complete during the cleaning. Two cleaners showed up late that morning to clean, Yvette and Shannon. I was out of town with my baby, so my husband let them in before also leaving for the airport. During the time of the cleaning I received notifications through the app that some things had been checked off the to-do list, but that they weren't able to get to some of the tasks due to lack of time. I was surprised because they state all the things they can complete during a deep clean and not even half of the tasks were marked off as completed, but thought maybe they just spent a ton of time DEEP cleaning other things around the home?
When we returned from our trip a few days later, we found our home was an absolute mess! There was blue cleaning solution left all over our shower, the rugs were left hanging in the stairwell, nothing was vacuumed or mopped at all (even though we requested extra time be spent on the floors), and the three bedrooms looked totally untouched (dusty surfaces, dirty mirrors, items strewn about). The kitchen table was dirty (not wiped down at all), the floors weren't vacuumed even though our furniture was all moved around, and I was SHOCKED to find a HUGE HOLE WAS MADE IN THE DRYWALL! I know it was done by the cleaner because there is a big pile of white drywall dust under the hole, so it looks like she had moved the chair to clean and then when moving it back shoved it too hard into the wall and then just left it. To make matters worse, she had positioned a chair over the hole maybe with hopes that we wouldn't find it??
I honestly couldn't believe how bad it all was. I reached out to Tidy.com immediately to let them know of our awful experience, request a refund, and ask for reparations so that we could have the drywall repaired. After MUCH back and forth and sending Tidy a repair estimate for the drywall, they refuse to pay for the damages OR refund the cleaning. They claim that in their "terms" they clearly outline that you won't receive MONEY for damages, just CREDITS, even though on the claim form it says to provide as much written detail and photos as possible so that they can hold the cleaner accountable financially. I'm so confused. So not only am I left with a $275 bill for a house that wasn't cleaned at all, but now I have to hire and pay someone to fix the hole in the wall that they made! Tidy added credits to my account to use towards a future cleaning, but the credits don't even cover HALF of what it would cost to have them "deep clean" my home again. How does that help me pay for the actual damages in my home and WHY would I ever hire Tidy again if this was what I would have to deal with?
I could not believe the terrible service, lack of accountability and total disregard for my home and the situation they have left me in. I have filed a complaint with the BBB, but noticed that they have a ton of complaints filed against them and all of them have gone unanswered. So I am leaving a review here in hopes that nobody else will hire Tidy.com and we can slowly bleed them dry and run them out of business. CHEERS. read more
