I'm really disappointed with my experience at Tide Cleaners. They do not know how to properly press men's dress pants, the crease was uneven and looked sloppy, very disappointed! On top of that, several of my shirts that were supposed to be steamed/pressed were not done well at all. For a place that's supposed to specialize in this, the quality just isn't there. I've brought a lot of business here over time and gave them multiple chances, but unfortunately they still can't seem to get it right. I definitely won't be going back and would not recommend it. I love having access to get my dry cleaning on my time when it's not convenient to go during their vast hours of operation. If you have long garments for pickup, the anytime pickup is not available. I also love the Tide laundry bags for repeat customers which helps to gather dry cleaning for processing. The costs are a few dollars more than other dry cleaners because Tide Cleaners offers more value for your money. The staff are very friendly and informative. I have been a regular customer and spent a lot of money at this dry cleaner and needed some last-minute items for an important event done the same day and I got there at 9:08 AM and because I was 8 minutes late they would not honor the same day service. I have also had to have some items done more than once because they did not do a good job. I've come here due to the location, but I will not be returning. This place is absolutely amazing!! From the time I called and inquired about my coat being cleaned to the time that I arrived. The staff were friendly and the cleaners itself smelled so good lol. My only complaint is that I didn't receive a text when my coat was ready for pick up I had to call. But the pick up Ana drop off process was very easy. I ordered a pickup today on the app. I called just see what the process was. And I was treated very badly. apparently they did not have our order listed and the representative was very rude. I couldn't remember if I put the order in my name or my mother's name since I am staying with temporarily while our house is being renovated. my mother lives in a condominium complex that looks like an 2 floor apartment Building.I had sign indicating to ring the bell to unit 8 when they arrive.When the rep said "well lady what do you mean to do about it" I hung up quietly said you just lost a customer. Disappointed with the high prices and lack of transparency This was my first time using Tide Cleaners in Birmingham, and unfortunately, it was not a good experience. I wasn't given a price estimate when I dropped off my items, so I was shocked when I went to pick them up and was charged $10 per tank top and $17 per bodysuit. That's by far the most I've ever paid for dry cleaning -- especially since the clothes weren't even that dirty. I just wanted them freshened up after being in storage. For the cost, I expected much better communication and value. I won't be returning. read more

It's an easy pick-up and drop off. I do really like the Tide brand detergent. The clothes do smell nice after a cleaning here. Prices do tend to be bit more than some places. Pricey for dresses and suits for sure. Shirts are reasonably priced. Pants are around $8 a pair or so. read more

I thought this was a good cleaners. Quick service when you go in and the staff was friendly. I had to wash a larger comforter. They said it would be ready in 2 days, it was ready already by the next day. Was clean and smelled nice. I brought five shirts in to be laundered and pressed. When I dropped them off there were specific instructions to move buttons on 3 of them. This was not only NOT done, but the large safety pins were still left in the shirts where they were supposed to be moved, which tells me the shirts were not inspected too carefully. So these shirts stayed in my closet for almost 3 months not being worn. Last week I decided to wear one of these shirts, and noticed a tear in the sleeve, along with looks like an overheated (over steamed) faded color area surrounding the tear. At first I thought it may have been there, so while upset, I certainly didn't automatically think it was caused by Tide Cleaners. Then I pulled out three more shirts that had also been brought in to Tide at the same time, to discover they all had the exact same tear and burn marks in the exact spot on the sleeves of all four shirts. One shirt, while there isn't a tear yet, tin the same spot, the fabric has been heat stressed and faded and appears that it's about to tear. like the others had. Obviously, I was upset by this discovery, and it became quickly obvious that this damage was incurred by the washing/steaming/pressing process at Tide, since these shirts hadn't been worn yet. On October 16th, I called and asked to speak to an owner, and Ryan was transferred to answer my call. I explained what happened to Ryan. I asked Ryan if he was the owner of this Tide location and he replied "yes, I am the co-owner". When I explained what had happened to my shirts, his first reaction was very defensive and insisted he had never heard of such a thing, and said how bizarre it was, but to bring them so he could take a look for himself, and I did on the same day at about 6pm. I went in to Tide after work (very inconvenient as it's far from my house and work), patiently waited in line, and when finally greeted by another gentleman with "manager" on his name tag, cant' remember his name, but he immediately got Ryan from the back to come out and take a look. When Ryan came out and I showed him the damage, he first said, "wow, I've never seen anything like that before", but adamantly denied that there was any conceivable way this could have happened at Tide. I calmly explained that there is literally no other scenario as to how this happened to every shirt in the exact same spot with the exact same damage to all four shirts. He then proceeded to tell me how he "sees this exact same damage all day long, and that it's caused from resting my elbows on a desk". I explained to him that his theory was impossible, because, one, I hadn't worn the shirts yet, two, NONE of my other 25 plus shirts that I didn't bring to Tide, were perfectly fine, and three I don't rest my elbows on my desk, ever! Furthermore, these tears aren't even at the elbow. So, in one minute Ryan went form "I've never seen this before" to " I see this same thing happen to shirts all day, everyday" Ryan became very belligerent, rude, unprofessional and defensive quickly, and was not all interested in assisting me. I found Ryan to be a liar and probably the worst possible person to have as a customer relations guy. He was still insisting he was part owner at his point, yet refusing to be of any assistance, referring to the other owner as the person to talk to. I asked him what we can do to resolve this problem, and he offered to ship them out to a third party investigative team, which sounded ridiculous. When I asked him how long they take to determine the cause of damage, he said "a very long time, perhaps months", which sounded even more ridiculous. He left a message on my phone saying the other owner would definitely call me today to discuss the matter, and that has not happened as of now -two weeks later. This place is disgraceful and ruined my shirts valued at $300. read more

Horrible place. Watch out for your bills. It charged me erroneously many times, especially when used BOGO. It does NOT give you one garment for free. They charged for the both garments. When I pointed out the error, they said they cannot credit the credit card back, only credit for next service. I understand if they issue credit if the service is not right, but they should credit the credit card if it is their errors. I understand business is tough right now and this practice gives them cash but they should not rip off customers. read more

Then they ruined a few items and the "regional manager" was so rude and aggressive that I refused to walk back in the door even with the few hundred dollars of credit for ruining things. Fast forward to today. I call to see if they do same day dry cleaning. They said not on Saturdays which is perfectly understandable. She then asked wait what did you need.... I said a single black suit for a funeral tomorrow. "Oh okay have a good day". What could my answer possibly have been to change things? What's the point of asking questions like that?? i use this Tide location on a regular basis. Ive also used the one in Naples, Fl. I can tell you that i have been extremely happy with both. my clothes come out smelling great & clean. The staff is very friendly and always helpful. The wash & fold is my favorite service and makes my life a lot simpler when i just don't have 3 hours to sit and do laundry. Doing drop off here is easy! They also have valet. You can just pull up and they come out and get your bags of clothes. They also give you really nice bags to drop your laundry off in to make it easier. read more

This is the absolute worst place I have ever been. The tide corporation should be embarrassed at the level of expertise that these idiots have running this place. I told them I wanted my jeans heavy starch and when I got them back there is no starch in any of my cloths. I have never had this much incompetence when dealing with any dry cleaners. From me having to explain to them what I wanted when I dropped the cloths off to picking them up and realizing they still did not understand the simple explanation of me telling them I want my jeans to stand up on there own. Beware of damaged clothing!!! Tide dry cleaners on Woodward shrank 6 of my cashmere sweaters to the point I couldn't get my arms through the sleeves and they were skin tight. Their "management" refused to take any responsibility or reimburse me for the sweaters. The immediate store staff was very communicative and helpful but unfortunately had no control to make the situation right. [Update: just decided to give them another shot, only because they're so close to my house. Mistake. Gave them two shirts, one of which came back with visible detergent spots on it. Both had the sleeves creased and were pungent with the scent of Tide. I asked if I could get these unscented and uncreased and have the spots taken out and left them with Tide. I picked them up today and they were both still creased on the sleeves and scented. I'm done] I tried this place recently. I had a shirt cleaned. I went to pick it up and they said their system was down and asked if I could come back. I came back the next day and didn't have my claim slip. I asked if they could look it up without the slip and they said sure. The person helping me couldn't find me in the system by my name. Then she asked another employee to come over and the two of them stood looking at the computer and typing stuff and looking mystified. Finally a manager came over and asked me my name again and again and the three of them stood their typing and asking me for info like my address and phone number, despite later admitting that this info is not taken down when an item is dropped off. After 20 minutes I couldn't take it anymore and said "I'll just come back when I find my slip." I found my slip, which had my name clearly printed on it. I brought this in and asked the manager on desk why they hadn't been able to find my order. He looked it up and said that he didn't know, and that my name was in the system attached to my order. So ridiculous. Won't be coming back. [Edit: after Tide's response. No. Just no. I have one name. It's the name on my slip and the name I kept giving to your staff. On an usually high wind day our flag was pushed into the boom of our ladder truck leaving large grease and oil stains. Obviously this left us devastated. We tried to clean it with no luck probably made it worse if anything. Called a few places that wouldn't even touch it. Tide cleaners in Birmingham, said let's give it a shot. I just love the convenience of this dry cleaner! My biggest hassle with dry cleaners is their hours. I usually can't make it during the week due to my work schedule so if I miss getting there on Saturday I have to wait another week. With Tide Dry Cleaners, I can stop by anytime to drop off and even pick up my items and they always look great. The staff is always super friendly and accommodating when I come inside and they made sure I knew about the valet service in the back. I love that on a cold day, I don't even have to get out of my car. I haven't compared prices but the convenience can't be beat. read more

Super clean new cleaners. Employees are great. Wish I could say the same thing about their ability to clean. I took in two stained items and was returned with two stained items. I took them directly to Royalty Cleaners and they were in shock that a cleaners could do such a poor job. Hopefully they will learn how to use their chemicals. Dropped off a large number of items a few months ago after receiving a 50% coupon off first order in the mail. They lost a suit jacket after my very first order. To top it off the management and owner spent the next 2 months stalling while they said that corporate was looking into it and while they reviewed their cameras. I was initially happy that they were going to go through all that to find my suit jacket since to top things off they didn't even add that jacket to my cleaning receipt at drop off. There was not attempt to rectify this even though I had spent hundreds of dollars at this establishments. You are only a number to Tide Cleaners and their franchisees. I had only used the services when they first opened to have all my winter clothes dry cleaned. Didn't really get another opportunity until the COVID issue, I thought I would try this place again. I took all my winter jackets, trousers etc, a total of about 20+ items. When I mentioned that I was a healthcare worker they were very thankful for what we all do and would not accept a tip a CC charge as a thank you. All my dry cleaning was done free of charge. The district manager who waited on me said that the staff would be happy with snacks as a thank you if I insisted on. I received my items all beautifully dry cleaned and some laundered with no issues. A great service and done with a smile. They were never in a hurry or annoyed. It felt good to have people help and serve in that manner. I didn't forget my boxes of snacks for them from Costco. A small gesture compared to what they did for me.
