I stopped by this lovely cafe for a London Fog with Oat Milk ($5) - happy that they offer non-dairy options for their lattes. My drink came out quickly and it was just what I needed. They offer a lot of tasty looking pastries too but sadly none of it was vegan. My friend did order a bear claw and she seemed to have enjoyed her treat. If you're looking for a nice, non-busy cafe near the aquarium or wharf, this is worth the trek out. read more

This place was one of our better coffee shop visits while in Monterey but seems like it can be a tough place to find a good cup of coffee! The food here was much better than some of the other coffee shops nearby as well. What made this place worth a visit was the amazing view you can find right outside. There's plenty of tables to sit at or benches right along the edge where we saw lots of otters having their breakfast as well. read more

Found my favorite coffee shop on cannery row (possibly all of Monterey). I don't know how to explain it, but their standard coffee is absolutely perfect for my tastes/preferences. With a hint of milk, it's smooth and flavorful without being overpowering. Fun fact: I had it 5 years ago (when staying at a nearby hotel) and ever since then I've been meaning to head back but forgot the name and location. I recently reconnected with it after visiting the area and I'm so glad I did. Added bonus: it's inexpensive compared to Starbucks and Pete's. Definitely check it out if you're in the area. Final pro tip: The seating area outside the coffee shop is for public enjoyment. Feel free to bring a lunch from one of the surrounding shops and enjoy the view. read more

This is such cute little coffeeshop on Cannery Row. The view is so pretty outside, as well. I got the hot tiramisu latte, recommended by the cashier and it was so good! It was very hot, which is something I really like, especially on cold, windy days. There was a lot of seating available and the cafe was pretty quiet around 3pm. read more

I stayed at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and always always grab coffee and a pastry from Tidal. First of all the view of the water from this cafe is bomb. Only thing better was my room view. The coffee here never disappoints. My croissant was yummy as well. The cashier and barista were all very nice. This is my seventh or eighth time at Tidal it's my go to for coffee in Monterey. Was in the area for a few days and tried this place twice. The chai late was one of the best I have had. Well done. The others in my group tried various coffees and all enjoyed them. Over both visits we tried some pastries and breakfast items. I had the breakfast burrito. They made everything fresh as we ordered and the flavors were great. The cinnamon roll was also wonderful. One of our group had the bacon egg cheese English muffin and really enjoyed it. Definitely will return. This place was great and did everything we tried well. read more

A nice little coffee shop tucked away into a corner surrounded by hotels with a beautiful view of the Monterey Bay. Boyfriend and I were staying at the Cannery Row Inn which is a 2-3 minute short walk away. We found our favorite routine during our Monterey stay was to wake up early, walk here for our morning coffee, and grab a seat outside to watch the ocean! We came here two days. The first time we stopped by we grabbed a cold brew, breakfast burrito, an almond croissant, and a latte. The second day we stopped by we just grabbed a mocha. Everything was pretty good, although I will say the burrito was a little bland. They do give what I presume to be a salsa verde with it which adds some flavor, but not much. The almond croissant was amazing, however! I'm not the best person when it comes to rating coffee. It did the job for me, though so I thought it was great! read more

The coffee itself, isn't good. - I wanted to order Cold brew, but they buy their cold brew pre-packaged and don't make it in house, so I passed on it. -Next, I wanted an Iced Matcha, but they were out of Matcha (it was 2pm) -I ordered an iced Americano with light water and extra ice. During payment, the lowest tip option was 18%--I'm a good tipper, usually 20% for solid service, but I don't like tipping before receiving the service. Gave $2.00, thought it was fair. Cashier gave me an odd look. Watched four people behind us get their orders first. Waited 31 minutes--asked about our drinks, was told "system error," but my paper order were just sitting by the register, not passed to the barista. Mediocre coffee, not happy. Came here for a cortado in the late afternoon before closing. It was made quickly. The menu has a good amount of coffee and tea options, and the interior of the shop was well-kept! A customer behind us dropped a bottle from the display shelf and they cleaned it up without issue. The cortado was at a perfect temperature. The stir sticks, sweetener, and add-ons bar was clean and convenient. My friend's jasmine tea was flavor and refreshing. There's a cute hotel outside so we sat by the benches after closing. It was the perfect place to admire the views and sip our drinks. All in all a great place outside the bustle of Cannery Row for a pick-me-up. read more

Okay, please listen to our order. Ordered a large, but got a medium our first visit. Luckily, only charged medium. A good vanilla latte. Ham/egg/cheese on English muffin gets an "okay" rating. I did like the cinnamon roll! Go back the next day and tried a large caramel macchiato. Got the large, but a big miss on the caramel portion. I didn't want to bother the staff and they were defensive the first day, so I had a basic no flavor macchiato. Also, went with a croissant ham/cheese and again, pretty plain. Nothing great. Some points with the atmosphere due to proximity with Monterey hotel and ocean. Not sure I would recommend and will be trying other coffee shops for sure. read more

Very convenient and situated next door to our hotel ... so no stress about where to get a good cup of coffee and breakfast! When we arrived there was 1 person in front but by the time we ordered there was a line forming already. I loved the staff and how helpful they were. The menu in the wall didn't have the details I needed so I had lots of questions. I ordered a cafe au lait with oat milk and oatmeal + house made granola. My hb ordered coffee with almond croissant. The coffee was nice and strong and the granola was fresh with almonds and honey. The inside is beautiful so we opted to sit facing the water. Went this last Saturday with my family & workers don't seem happy to be there ! Just seem extremely bothered they have customers .

Meter parking and also right near the hotel. We got a cappuccino and latte. It was okay. I appreciated it is not sweet, but also not super strong. Your drink will be SUPER HOT so mind your tongue. We ordered quickly since they close at 12pm each day and we got there at 11:50. There was a lot of people. There's a small plaza outside and you can watch the ocean. There are tables for you to sit at. Beautiful to take photos here ;) Seagulls and birds hang out at the plaza and may choose to chill near you. It was very cute that little black birds (not sure what they're called) were sitting right behind my mom and I. There's a fountain at the plaza if want to snap a quick pic of yourself there. Tidal coffee has become a go to shop everytime I've come to Monterey for the aquarium. I ordered a London fog this time around and it was delicious. The ham and cheese croissant was also very good, though I would say it's a little expensive. They heated it up for you so the cheese is nice and melted while the croissant was warm and moist. We stopped here for breakfast on our first morning in Monterey. I believe this place is connected to the hotel? So it seemed most guests were coming for breakfast from the hotel. It wasn't cheap but it was good food. We didn't try the coffee since we had already had some, but we had a breakfast sandwich and a breakfast burrito. They were premade and heated up but had good flavor and we liked the salsa the burrito came with. Also loved that they had a fridge with drinks and some other fruits and snacks since you never know what you need with a baby in tow. The best part is the outdoor seating that overlooks the ocean. It's also fenced in AND the fountain had high walls so we could let our baby run around while we ate. read more
