Okay so I want to start off that this is a really great Cafe spot to work, relax, and chill with a friend. There were lot of people working there, socializing, and just having a good time. I got several different drinks Kashmir latte, Mango matcha (speciality), Ube latte. Im going to be honest maybe it just not for me but I would give them all around a 7/10 as it tasted decent but nothing over spectacular. The latte all tasted strong like coffee, couldnt really taste the kashmir or ube taste as much. The mango matcha speciality was definitely much better (limited time drink) as the foam and matcha/mango stood out more. Maybe will have to try it again, but just didnt feel like the taste hit or stood out, but the spot is very very nice.
Thumbody is tucked away inside an office building, which admittedly makes for a slightly unexpected location - but once you step inside, it all makes sense. The space has really nice, laid-back vibes and feels welcoming without trying too hard. It's the kind of spot that works just as well for catching up with a friend as it does for getting some work done. I really enjoyed their seasonal specialty coffee and went with the Palo Santo Latte, which was unique, comforting, and well-balanced. What initially drew me in, though, was the impressive selection of ube items. I grabbed the ube bun to go with my coffee, and it did not disappoint -soft, flavorful, and a perfect pairing. Despite being very busy, there's ample seating inside, and service is quick and efficient. The baristas are incredibly friendly and make the experience feel warm and personal. Parking is also easy and plentiful since it's located in an office building, which is a huge plus. Thumbody describes itself as a cafe, record shop, and creative space -and that really comes through. Between the thoughtfully made coffee, fresh pastries, vinyl records, and community-forward energy, it's a spot you'll want to linger in. Definitely a place I'd come back to.
Don't let the office-forward exterior fool you. This cafe might be located on the ground floor of the most nondescript building, but that also means plenty of parking. What it lacks in curb appeal, it more than makes up for with a cozy and chill ambiance. The mural of album covers is a cool nod to the cafe's part DNA as a vinyl records shop. This also means the playlist at Thumbody is always fantastic. There are plenty of tables, chairs, and counters to find a place to hang or work, so that even on a busy weekend morning, my friend and I had no trouble staking out a spot. As someone trying to cut coffee out of her life, I loved to see mentions of matcha and ube on the menu. That led me quite naturally to order The Hulk, their signature matcha and ube latte. With bright and foamy purple and green layers, this drink caught stares all the way from the counter to our table. It's clearly a drink made for the 'gram, but with actual substance by way of taste. Having read some reviews on The Hulk, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to taste the distinct but subtle flavors, but I was surprised by how well they complemented each other. Sure, stirring the layers together turned the two colors into more of an ugly, mottled green, but it became a gorgeous, 'not-that-sweet' drink that we Asians love so well. Everyone behind the counter is friendly and efficient. Every time I looked up, I saw them moving like a machine to churn out a regular flurry of new drink orders. That there was such a steady flow of customers during the hour or so I was there seems to suggest what a hotspot this has become in the neighborhood. I didn't get to try any pastries this visit, but judging from the high praise in previous reviews it looks like I'll have to go back to give these a try.
First time here and I was excited to check it out--and it did not disappoint. Thumbody is a great-vibe café tucked away on the first floor of an office building. It's a small space, but they have tables for anyone who wants to sit, chat, or get some work done. As someone with celiac, I was thrilled to see gluten-free options. I tried the Oreo gluten-free chocolate cake and it was absolutely delicious. I also ordered a caramel cold brew with vanilla cold foam, and it definitely hit the spot. I'm looking forward to trying more items on the menu next time. Overall, a cozy little gem with great drinks and thoughtful options. I definitely recommend checking this place out!
I call it a secret cafe because you would never know there's a cafe hidden in this massive office building. But this cafe isn't just a coffee place for the office, it is a legit destination cafe. There's a lot of people working on their laptops but I always manage to find a table. I love the big windows, albeit the view is of the parking lot. What I love is their espresso beans. I've tried a cappuccino and an americano and they both taste smooth without bitterness. The baristas are nice too. One time my friend and I forgot to ask for decaf and they started to make the drinks already but they still remade the drinks when we asked and they did it without an attitude. I appreciate that. I wish they had more interesting baked good options, but I love the music, large space, the vibe, and espresso drinks here.
Went for their Summer drink and was not disappointed. Mango sticky rice macha drink, I am not a fan of match but this combination somehow worked. The sticky rice compliments the mango in a layer that makes it feels a dessert then a layer of matcha then the cream that balances the taste. Their pastry are always excellent, their best sellers ube and guava pandesal has been always on point.
Super aesthetically pleasing cafe. They always have friendly service & always happy to help with suggestions when it comes to drinks / pastries. Always had a great experiences with the pastries but the drinks can be lacking depending on the drink. The matcha was too sweet for me but i can see someone who prefers sweeter lattes love their matcha. Never any issue with parking & it's great spot to do some remote / studying done.
First time here, but I was so excited to come; I was reading reviews on Yelp, Google and on their website; it's a kind of place that I love to go. I'm a Coffee fan and you can find dozens of coffee beverages, and some other interesting drinks. This place has salty food on the Grab-and- go area. you can find pastries, bread also. I wanted to eat a UBE PAN DE SAL (purple salty cheese bread ) but they were run out, so I picked a "Guava & Cheese pan de sal " which was soft and yummy , and a HONEY LAVENDER latte with regular milk( the cashier recommended me the regular milk) I ordered my latte in a mug and they have really precious colored mugs for customers that makes you happy ..My Latte was really, really delicious!!! Chicken Pesto Sandwich ( on focaccia)was fresh and tasty ( I also devoured one of this , haha) Fair prices and enough portions. Barista was so kind and explained me all the concept and how the place works. Spot is so spacious and had diferent kind of sitting areas: 1-stools and a bar with a street view, 2-regular tables, 3-a small living area and ... a separate vynil LP record collection area where you can stay and enjoy a time. Merch: they have stickers, t-shirts... I brought 2 funny stickers at home Their play list is great! Loved the place Thank you to all the crew. God bless you!!! and keep doing a wonderful job.
Thank you Yelpers for introducing to another coffee shop I can add to my favorites list! Thumbody is located inside a business building off the highway, so at first it was tricky to locate exactly where in the building it was if you're not familiar with it but after my 1st visit, I knew exactly where to park (visitors parking) and easily locate Thumbody's entrance nearby. I can in 3 times over the past week and really enjoyed each visit! I had the mango sticky rice matcha and it really is as god as the reviews claim it to be! I asked for mine a little less sweet as I don like my beverages to taste like dessert but just sweet enough and Thumbody baristas delivered! I also had the ube and guava cheese pan de sol. They are the perfect snack to go with the beverages, not too sweet and soft. The ambience is very chill, hipster vibes with vinyl records.
well waddayaknow! four years already whoa!! and this place is still awesome. the cafe family has also grown - back then i usually just see Marcus and Audrey but now there more new pleasant staff faces too! and thats a good thing. As always, drinks are delicious and I always look forward to their unique seasonal or special drinks. They always come up with new and interesting flavors - flavors that I havent really seen or tried anywhere else such as Marzipan, persimmon, carrot cake, and there's this "Thai Bolt" that im gonna have to try soon. lol the pastries are also good and just recently ive tried this scallion cheese pandesal which was a pleasant light breakfast treat! Hoping for many more visits here. Thumbs up to thumbody!
Vibey spot with yummy, creative drink options and unique pastries! It does get pretty busy around the afternoon, but the service is great and the staff is friendly. There is a good amount of seating, fit for studying/co-working but noise level is pretty moderate with the music and other patrons. There is a small room housing their LP records, which was very cool and cozy! Can't wait for my next visit to try their Guava Pan de Sal and other delicious matcha drinks!
I tried this place for the first time and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The place is also such a cool place to do work with plenty of seating and cool decor. I tried the "hulk" drink which was ube and matcha mixed together. The ube itself (a nutty creamy flavor) tasted great, but I didn't get any matcha taste (that could just be because the ube overpowered it). I wasn't a fan of the fact that the matcha is pre-sweetened with sugar. I didn't get to catch if the employees whisked the matcha or it was premade in a tub (like most places do when the matcha is presweetened with sugar). If you're looking for a matcha tasting drink don't try the one with ube and maybe try the other flavors to give them a shot. 10/10 vibes and staff friendliness but I can't speak to the matcha
I've been to Thumbody a few times now and have always enjoyed my experience. They've got some creative drinks and it's a nice place to sit and enjoy a drink and some small bites. Service has always been friendly. On my most recent visit I got some coffee and ginger based drink and it was ok. I drank it all, but I probably wouldn't get it again. Now my girlfriend got a mango sticky rice matcha drink and it was AMAZING. I love mango sticky rice and I love matcha but I've never thought of having both together in the same cup. Somehow it just worked and one flavor never overpowered the other. Prices are about typical for a cafe like this. I do like that they have a room with a bunch of vinyl record, pretty unique. Thinking about that mango sticky rice matcha has me wanting to go back soon.

VERY unassuming. If coming on a dark day, you might just miss it. It's located in an office building with dark windows and they have a small sign out front on the sidewalk for their business. Inside is a cozy, eclectic, scene with a small record nook and great amount of seating. Staff was more than lovely and which WE LOVE TO SEE. We ordered The Hulk (pictured) which is a ube matcha mix. Super light and not too sweet- the perfect easy pick-me-up. As well as their Vietnamese Coffee (not pictured) which was super smooth and tasty. I wanted to combine them but then I'd be zooming. All in all, great vibes, great selection and great staff. Will be returning to this nice hidden gem read more

Service was prompt. Nice little cafe that I was able to snag a table and read a book while I enjoyed my coffee. The ube pastry was my fav. I ordered the iced Viet coffee. Next, I probably would've wanted to try the hot chocolate. The gentleman that made my coffee even walked it over to the table where I was sitting. Ambiance was really cool almost felt like I was in an east village coffee shop. The latte was strong and delicious along with the Ube and cream cheese pastry I ordered. The record room was awesome, the only thing I was shocked at how awful the music played was. With all the cool records from the 80's and 90's I couldn't believe the a little too loud music choices: I looked around and noticed everyone had headphones on so I guess they knew the drill. The music choice was huge for setting the experience, their coffee is strong and then their playing a loud song with a jazz club beat that keeps repeating doesn't make it easy to concentrate on the task at hand and big reason for picking this place. read more

I went to Thumbody for the first time today after wanting to go for some time and it did not disappoint. I got the Hulk and it was delicious. I am a complete sucker for ube anything and give me matcha and I'm sold. The drink is so creamy and delicious even with almond milk being my milk choice. I credit that to the ube mixture in the drink which has an incredible taste! Highly recommend this place. read more
Had a coffee today and it tasted good . They have a wide range of coffee / tea varieties . Nice and very relaxed feeling in the shop. They also have some old vinyl discs . They have breakfast varieties and some lunch menu too. Salads , danish , croissant etc .. priced a little more but it's worth . Thumbs up read more

Cute coffee shop. It's tucked on the first floor of a corporate building. I tried their ube latte and an almondine Blueberry cake and both were excellent. Their interior is super cool and spacious. Great place to work or study. They play music and it's enjoyable. Additional food offerings for breakfast like pancakes or biscuit breakfast sandwiches and it would be perfect. The owners are super nice. The plants give this place a comfortable feel. read more
Stopped here for coffee after seeing all the great reviews and wish I could have stayed longer! The inside of this cafe is beautifully decorated with plants and there is tons of natural light. I got The Hulk (matcha with taro) and the Ube Pan de Sal. While a little bit pricey, the matcha was very smooth and had the perfect amount of sweetness. I couldn't really taste any taro flavor though. The Ube pastry was very tasty- super moist and the savory cream cheese filling was a nice touch. Can't wait to come back and try the Ube Tres Leches! read more
I wish I found out about this cute coffee shop sooner (especially since I live so close by)! I love the ube drink here - flavorful and delicious. It also tastes real/not anything artificial. I heard the matcha + ube was good and I definitely want to try it next time! I just wished the interior was bigger with tables - currently there is seating on the side (it's more of a grab and go coffee). Also, there are really cool pictures and records inside! Trendy little coffee shop tucked inside an office building! I stopped by Thumbody on a weekday morning and was pleasantly surprised to find such a trendy coffee shop in this suburban area. They have a fun selection of caffeinated drinks. I got the Hulk, which is kind of like a matcha and ube latte, with almond milk (at the barista's recommendation) and a shot of espresso. It was fantastic and not too sweet! For those with a sweet tooth, I highly recommend the ube tres leches! They sell out fast though, so be sure to get there early. The staff are super friendly and will make recommendations if you ask! They gave us an extra Hulk on the house (maybe because we looked so enthusiastic haha)! read more

I love me some coffee and a great chill spot. Came in from an appointment and figured to check this place out. Perfect time because freshly baked was their chocolate puff pastries that I absolutely loved! Also ordered the Iced Ube Latte with Vanilla since I like my coffee sweet. Definitely a great mix. Also the two workers there were very sweet and welcoming. Great service with great refreshments was a win win! Will be coming here again! read more

Thumbody is my newest favorite coffee shop. This coffee shop is not only a coffee shop but also a place to relax, get some work done, and even buy, sell, and trade records. The coffee menu has your essentials and even international coffee and brewing styles including Vietnamese, drip, cold brew and more. I would definitely stop in and try it if you're in the area. Thumbody is a unique cafe shop in the Paramus area that as a great ambiance and the staff are very friendly. The pastries are fresh and tasteful and the coffees are splendid. They even have a record shop inside where they are loads of albums to choose from. I would highly recommend! It is not too often you would want to go out of your way to get coffee but this place is not your typical coffee shop. Located in a nondescript office building off Route 4 East, I would say that if you know where Target at the Bergen Town Center is, it is right across the street. The fact that it is a little bit hard to find might be its only downside, but maybe that is what makes finding this place so much more thrilling. Wednesday afternoon seems to be a good time to stop by if you want to enjoy a calm ambiance, that was when we went. The shop has some cool music playing in the background and vinyl records decorating the walls. I think that this coffee shop values good music as much as it does coffee, so do take a moment to appreciate that as you wait for your coffee order. Let's talk about the drinks. The Hulk is one of their signature drinks that we understand has been popularly circulating on TikTok, it's green and purple like it's namesake and is Ube and matcha(?) I believe but you can check with the other reviews for certainty. It was definitely cool to look at. However, I had a hot Ube Latte which was just fantastic, and I got it with oat milk this I will totally recommend if you don't want a drink that's too sweet. The Ube smelled terrific and was well balanced in the latte. From the grab-and-go, we got an Ube Tres Leches, which again, was just so good. Not too sweet and not too wet. A lot of wet Tres Leches out there, not here. And with the Ube Latte, thinking about it makes me want to go back and get some more (soon!) AAPI-owned business. read more

So excited for this new place. I'm a bit of a tres leches snob, and this place got it right. The ube flavor is super subtle but the color pops and gets your attention. Tried the Hulk drink which is matcha and ube latte. Again subtle flavor so you get more of the matcha taste. Staff was really nice and friendly and entertained all my dumb questions. It's located in an office building but accross from the shopping center by the target entrance so I know I'll be stopping here for a treat before every target trip. read more

I'm a regular at Thumbody and don't know why it took me so long to write this review! I can't recommend this place enough. Unique drinks, good eats, & vinyls for sale. The WiFi is free and there's always a good playlist on... so a great place to get some work done. I can't tell you my favorite drink, because it really depends on the day... but any of the ones pictured are a great place to start! Oh!! And if you can get your hands on an Ube tres leches, you'll be thankful you were there on the right day. read more

Amazing spot that you wouldn't even know existed if not for the rave reviews. Nestled in an office building with easy access and lots of parking. Came on a rainy, lazy day and got the ginger tea. Everyone posts about the hulk, but THE GINGER TEA doesn't get the love it deserves. I've never had such good ginger tea in my life. Also had their ube pastry, which was soft, cream-filled and delicious! Let's also not forget their records. Got some real classics today make sure you go into their new record room. They recently expanded and it's a great spot to just chill and listen to great music while you drink your coffee or tea. the staff were all super friendly and helpful. we seriously need more places like this, especially in Bergen county. In an unassuming storefront, lies this perfect coffee/ record shop! Not only do they make my oat lattes so yummy (I mean the ratio to coffee and oat milk is chefs kiss ), but they also use Nguyen coffee supply beans which are so high quality. I have yet to taste the food they have there (think ube pastries and mood food salads), but everything is centered around having high quality, local partners. Other really important things for me as a customer is to support other BIPOC owned businesses especially when they support other BIPOC or new businesses. It's a chill place to hang or do work, as they have serious music taste and often have a record playing. Where else are you going to listen to some classic funk or Lofi jazz and have an opportunity to buy that record sourced by the owners. Highly recommend! read more

The best vibes and more than just a coffee shop. They don't just sell but vinyl's too, of all types of music. The coffee is of all types of flavors like their Mexican hot chocolate, their viet coffee and Ube coffee! Also grab their pastries before they sell out but if you're looking for a quick lunch they got you with sandwiches and salads. Dope music, dope people and amazing coffee!! read more

Super cool store and vibe. Nice workers who are super helpful. I enjoyed both things I ordered and highly recommend the Nutella croissant, it was so delish. Overall great cafe definitely will come back and try their other stuff!! read more

My new fav coffee shop in Paramus! The owner Marcus is very friendly and nice - they just opened back in December of 2021. The location is easy to miss; it's in the lobby of an unsuspecting office building. They offer a great list of drinks and refreshers (coffee + tea), I have to try the melon refresher next time. I tried the hulk as it seems the most popular which is a mix of ube and matcha and your choice of milk. so refreshing! I love this place and would recommend it to anyone :) read more
