Played in a foursome, started on time but the group behind was waiting on the tee when we started. We let them pass us but suddenly we were 15 minutes behind according to the cart. We keep track of our play and we were well within the 12 min per hole average. At the turn we were given a choice to play on the Arroyo versus the Lakes course as they pro said it was less crowded. We enjoyed Arroyo but were baffled as to the reason Mesa/Lakes was overbooked with a pushy marshal instead of spreading out play on all three courses. The course has all the ingredients of a great resort course but is being managed like a racetrack.

As soon as we arrived, the manager came over to introduce himself, explain how everything worked, and let us know our server would be with us shortly. He also mentioned that it was our server's first time handling a large group and asked us to be patient. I really appreciated him being upfront about that because it helped set expectations and made us much more understanding when service wasn't perfect. We had 12 people in our party, and everyone had a good time. The atmosphere was fun, and everyone who ate said the food was good. My only concern was with the gluten-free options. The menu had some items marked as gluten-free, but when I asked our server about them, he told me they "still had a little bit of gluten." When I asked what he meant, he wasn't sure. I asked if he was referring to cross-contamination, and he said he thought so, but he couldn't give me a clear answer. Since I have celiac disease and can't risk eating gluten, I decided not to order any food. I would recommend providing staff with better training on gluten-free options and food allergies so they can confidently answer questions from guests with dietary restrictions. Overall, service was okay, we had a good time, and our family enjoyed celebrating there.
