So I had passed this place a few times back when it was Dubina. I had yet to stop in though. Running some errands in the area we decided to swing by and check it out! A small unsuspecting corner of a parking lot, but overly impressive. They have a multitude of high tops available as well as standard tables and tables with a booth on one half. There is a square bar towards the back that is available as well. The best part of this place was all the alcohol was local! They have their own beer on tap as well as some guest taps. They also have local spirits that are featured as well. The menu was bar food, but I enjoyed it! We had the sampler with mozzarella sticks, butterfly shrimp, and the pretzel. Can't complain about anything there at all. I also had the Gorgonzola Burger but subbed with grilled chicken. Be warned the peppers were pretty spicy! Wifey had the dry rubbed wings. They were really good, a little on the sweeter side but still good! Overall a tramway place to hang out and grab a beer. We will definitely be back! read more

My friend and I were looking looking for a good, chill spot to have lunch and a great beer and landed at Throne Brewing. This place is very unassuming from the outside, once you get inside it's very welcoming. I was drawn in by their daily specials. On Wednesdays, they have $3 off chicken wings. That makes it $9 for 6 wings which is a pretty good price nowadays. They have a wide variety of wing sauce options. I opted for the medium Buffalo sauce on traditional wings. I loved how peppery the wings were and I like that they were crispy and well sauced! A flight of beer is $17. It's a little steep, but I guess that's pretty normal nowadays. I've been drinking beer a little more regularly now and have tried a handful of flights from a few breweries now. I was a bit disappointed to find that the German Hefeweizen was really the only beer I liked from their selection. Same story for my friend. We ended up getting a pitcher of the Hefe after we finished our flight which was $10 for a pitcher. We came back later that night as they have Trivia every Wednesday from 7-9 PM. We were surprised to find a lot of people there! I wish the trivia was hosted by someone and no just Jack Trivia, which is an app you download and everyone plays through the app while watching a TV. The cool thing is they have cash prizes, with a first place prize of $30, second place is $20, and third is $10. We also ordered onion rings and pickle chips. The pickle chips were absolutely delicious! Very flavorful and you get a good amount of them, too! The service is okay... The servers are there to do their jobs. They aren't overly friendly but they're not rude either. They are busy. I did find myself waiting for them to come around and when they came around, they left very quickly after and didn't come back again for a while. I use to live on Roosevelt but I never visited the location downtown. I always thought about going though, so I was quite surprised to find out they had a location near my new home in the North Mountain area. And I will say, I was kicking myself about not visiting this place sooner! Everything was wonderful, from the service to food! The wings were perfectly crispy and the golden bbq was one of the best Carolina sauces I've had (and I am a self proclaimed wing connoisseur, lol). My boyfriend ordered a Chicago style brat and the bun was a fluffy pretzel bread that tasted house made! We also had the garlic bites and you could tell they were made fresh as well. The only slight downside was there weren't many beers that were my style, but the few that were were pretty great. My fave was the maple molasses ale and the hefe. We will definitely be returning. We use to love this place but they always run out food....we went there on Cinco de Mayo.... We got there at 5:30 pm and on the Cinco de Mayo special menu.... They listed carne asada tacos or nachos....we were going to order the tacos and nachos and we were told they were out of carne asada....ran out at 5:30 pm! additionally there were only two servers and the place was packed...it took forever to get a refill on our drinks....it's not a fun place to go to anymore.... Was teetering between 3 and 4 stars... food and pinball brought it to a 4 Food was great - the pretzel bun was perfect, thick bacon, huge beef patty. Grilled onions- could have appreciated more of 'em, was a little sparse. My medium-well burger was slightly over cooked, but not to the point of disappointment. Beers were great, especially the blueberry sour. The only negative was the water- super disgusting. Probably the plastic cup..but idk. We aren't gonna talk any more about that. Service was pretty good once we were acknowledged. Its a big place, and you walk in and see a bunch of empty tables (except for one, on a Friday night) and a mostly full bar (8-10 people) Kind of wandered around trying to make eye contact with someone who works there, walked up behind some people at the bar to peek at taps, while bartender chats up a patron. Ended up grabbing a food and drink menu from one of the POS stations and discussed the options with my man. (As a retired, long time bartender- I found it disheartening to not be acknowledged at all upon entering/looking lost and seeing the 'seat yourself' sign. Did not give a shit about grabbing a menu and looking over it before someone coming over, because we would have done that anyways.) Eventually the bartender came over and asked us what we would like to order, and where we would be sitting. She was prompt and brought us our drinks/food and checked back to see if we needed anything else. We ended up paying the tab at the bar once ready to go. The ambiance needs work. Probably the only reason (well, plus the welcoming service) this place isn't packed every night. Too bright, music too low, no real effort into decorating.. They do have 5 pinball machines. 3 Stern and 2 Gottleib. They all work great and cost a dollar a play (except the NASCAR one is 0.50 cents) We came for pinball, beer, and food. Every Tuesday night since July 2023, my group of nine senior professional women have been going to Throne Brewing on 67th Ave and Bell Road to socialize, have dinner and play bingo. Over this period of time our group has been between 4-9 in size. We have looked forward to these nights and have always felt safe and welcome until this past Tuesday, March 25th! We called ahead to reserve for a party of 11 at 6pm. We had two out of state family members joining us. Upon arriving we were surprised and pleased that there were pitchers of water and ice tea on the table. Usually, we have a very difficult time getting refills for these both and have had to wave for our servers attention every time we go there. We've let this slide because they are always busy. More than once, one of us had to return food because the hamburger was raw and cold or something was burnt. There were even times when one of us got up and got our own ice at the bar or to-go containers from the server station. This was because our server never came to check on us and again, we saw that they were busy so we thought we were helping them out. One night our server actually said we better tip him good. We still let all of this slide because this was our night to go out and socialize and enjoy each other's company. When we celebrated a birthday by bringing in a cake; we always gave a slice to our server. This past Tuesday night, our server, Kyle, approached our table after we were there for maybe 5 minutes and proceeded to reprimand us in an extremely loud rant stating that our behavior is unacceptable and that no one wanted to wait on us and he, Kyle, was fed up with us getting up and getting our own things, sick and tired of us waving for attention and returning food! Kyle said that if we were to continue this we should find somewhere else to go. We were told that his manager approved him talking to us about this. He was yelling so loudly that half of the restaurant could hear him! This went on for some time and then he repeated himself to one end of the table! All of us were in shock over this outburst.... So much so that we were speechless, angry, dumbfounded and embarrassed. We all wanted to walk out! We had two guests and didn't want to ruin their night so we stayed. That was a mistake! Some of us were so upset that we did not order any food or drinks. It was horrid!! If this is the type of behavior condoned by management then I'd say this business has a huge problem! Needless to say I will NEVER GO TO THRONE BREWING AGAIN! I recommend that no one goes there! read more

Stumbled upon this amazing brewery while visiting Az from LV with a colleague from Seattle. He is a huge beer fan and we had tried one other pub before this find and were highly disappointed To say the least. We came on a Tue night and the place was pretty dead. There were about 7 people in the place and honestly, they need to figure out why, because their product is amazing. I had the Maple Ale and it was super smooth, buttery and had a great aftertaste. I had one beer and was tipsy. It was so good it was almost like a port wine, but a beer (I am much more of a wine drinker). I had the caprese salad and the tomato's were crisp, basil fresh and cheese delish. Everything really good and I ate everything to the last bite. My friend ordered the apple salad and really enjoyed it. He said he goes to a ton of breweries in Seattle and that he was really impressed with the food and beer as well. Overall, everything was great. Our server Sara was very open and friendly. She had a positive vibe and was the type of person that made you want to come back and be a regular at the place if I was a local. I can see that this may be a hidden gem by the location. It is tucked away in an old strip mall with weird other shops. But when you walk in, it had a cozy friendly vibe. Nothing to be Afaid of here! Definitely check it it and ask for Sara! Pros: The only pro I can think of was the Buffalo Chick Sandwich on pretzel bun. It wasn't bad so this is the star of this review. The side salad was ok too. Cons: Place was worn out, the beer wasn't cold. I tried the House Not-Chos and the chips were over cooked, the cheese was room temp and not much of it. On Tuesday, March 25th I was among the group of 12 ladies that were at Thone Brewery for dinner and bingo. Besides having 2 out of town guests with us, most of the group were loyal customers of several years and a few others including myself only a few times. Upon first arriving at our table, Kyle our server instantly launched into a loud unprovoked, degrading, and humiliating tirad begining with, we will not tolerate your complaints, sending back food, getting out of your chairs, and helping yourself to things, or yelling across the room your needs. If you continue to do this you can take your business elsewhere. He further stated, I have permission from my Manager Tiffany to deal with this. One on the ladies said, I would like your manager's number. Looking very entitled, Kyle said he would be glad to give it to her. He further stated that there was no one at this establishment that wants to wait on us due to these complaints. Two of the ladies stated that in the past they had sent their hamburgers back due to it being raw in the middle. Kyle really wasn't interested in letting anyone else speak or in answering their comments. As you can imagine, the entire place was silent and staring, and as shocked as we were. I said to Kyle, "What are you talking about. I have never been spoken to by anyone, ever in this manner". He replied, oh it's not you I'm talking to. They know who they are. My feelings are, if indeed the manager was in agreement with having her server verbally attack a group of customers (which apparently per Kyle did not apply to the entire group) I think the public should be informed of how they could potentially be treated. If the manager Tiffany is not in agreement with what occured, then she has a rogue employee that feels he has due license to go off on people and use her name as permission to do so. Days after this incident, I still find it to be a very upsetting experience that no patron should ever have to have experienced. Needless to say, I will never set foot in this place again, and will voice to anyone I know what transpired on that night. read more

Coming from the Carefree area, it's quite a hike, but worked it into a trip to the mall. Wish the location was closer to Cave Creek. There's an old 70s bar mixed with a renovated seating area. To underestimate this place is a mistake. Throne boasts amazing food, knowledgeable and friendly staff, a beer menu with some exceptional beers (e.g. Maple Strong Ale), as well as classic cocktails and a collection of meads. I really want this to be a 5 star review. Here's what I saw as misses: disappointing porter/stout/blonde ale. Unimpressed by the chicken strips, and the pretzel recipe and beer cheese need to be retooled. It's currently too small, needs sea salt, and the beer cheese seems to need a different base (maybe try provolone and a different beer. This was the truffle Mac and cheese which was great. They are known for their burgers and are exceptional. The cook did an outstanding job with our build your own burger. Super friendly staff & the chef in the kitchen killed all the appetizers, the burger was perfectly medium rare and they had exceptional brussel sprouts! Oh, and their in house tap beer stout and light beer all had great flavor! Definitely worth the try, they have board games, as well as arcade games. First of all, I'm definitely not a beer guy. Then what am I doing at a brewery you ask? I'll tell you since you asked. I visited Superstition Brewery a couple months back and totally enjoyed myself and the Mead I had for the first time. So my nephew and his new bride invited me to this Brewery that had Mead and were releasing a new Beer also today. Away we went on this journey. Met this gregarious smiling mountain of a man there, Dallas was his name. He said I had to try this new Beer on tap, "Coriega Beyond the Depths American IPA" I said I'm game. Bam, the flavor was really nice upfront on the tongue and through the middle was really flavorful and then the Hops hit me afterwards like all IPA's do. The end it what i dislike in all , but this was quite lovely. Onto the Mead, they were great, Blueberry was my favorite. Food was had by all, everyone seemed to like it. Dawn tried diligently to maintain a table of 12 of us and all her other tables. Definitely a fun place, great Beer, Mead, food for all! read more

They made me Dubina fries which are no longer on the menu and those were spicy as hell...but really good!! I dig the beer cheese. They were very bland but I'm not a big baby so I just dumped hot sauce on them. Nothing a little Tapatio can't fix! Beer selection is severely lacking. They only had 6 or so to choose from. We sampled almost all of them and I can honestly say I didn't like a single one. They were out of the one cider that they carry too so I went with a mixed drink. Menu is small and pretty basic. Dubina doesn't plead for your attention. Tucked into the corner of a tiny strip mall, you could miss it 9 times out of 10 driving down 67th. When you walk in, there are pallets of grain and kegs stacked up like obstacles in a paintball course, some board games here and there, simple tables and chairs in rows across the dining room, a horseshoe-shaped bar near a few small TVs. They're not here to impress your friends on Instagram (though they have an Instagram account, they rarely feature faces or the interior of the restaurant). They're just here to give you good beer and some comfort food. Apps, hot dogs, sandwiches, burgers - that's basically the menu. The house burger was great, pub cheese with the classic tomato/lettuce combo. The wings are good, the fried pickles are good, the fries with pub cheese. Not a fan of the chips that are the default side, they taste a bit burned - too crispy, not salty, be sure to upgrade to another app. The beer is on point - a black IPA and a Scottish light beer hit the spot. There are some more adventurous options - cucumber and maple and blood orange flavored things - but I'm a beer-flavored-beer guy - they came through on that point - that's what I can vouch for. read more
