Completely unhelpful bartender- didn't care if you lived or died. Never once asked how the drinks were or if I was doing okay. No public WiFi if you need to work. Extremely tiny selection of drinks with no food. Literally what kind of beer bar has one IPA, one ale, one stout?! And seltzers with flavors like green apple and sour gummy bear. Am I 19? That's pathetic. Won't be back, surprised this place is even in business. Next time I'll go somewhere that actually seems to want customers, especially in this economy where $20 for a mediocre flight is a good chunk of money. Better yet- I'll stay in my own home and not spend money to be treated like I'm a pest and see the most microscopic beer selection I've ever seen. Fun local neighborhood brewery with several options for every beer lover. The offerings tend lean on the seltzer and IPA side but as a lager guy I've been able to find many enjoyable choices on their menu. Does get busy quickly on the weekends they have food trucks so plan accordingly but overall it's always very enjoyable experience whenever stopping by for a beer or two. read more

Awesome brewery! I'm sad we never noticed it the last few years, but thankfully on a failed attempt to eat at Fabio on Fire we stumbled upon Richter Aleworks! I did a flight with the seltzers, wheat, and blonde ale. My husband had the English Ale and said it was okay. The seltzers were delightful! Lacking in carbonation which was honestly a wonderful surprise! Add some vodka to the seltzer and you'll have a WONDERFUL pool cocktail! We also shared the Buffalo chicken pizza which was tasty but lacked a sufficient amount of chicken and Buffalo sauce to justify $15 for a pizza. read more

We wanted to have a couple of beers before heading home for the night. When we ordered, we were told no more food for the night as it was an hour before they closed. Around 15 mins before they closed, a couple walked in and had two pizzas ready for them. I guess you have to be in the good ol' boys club to get food at night. I'm highly disappointed because the beer was good, but it's not right to tell a customer there isn't any food just to a erve another customer food. We wont be coming back. read more

Been spending the last year going around and trying all the local breweries! Fun times. Beer flights is what I suggest if you aren't sure what to try. Many breweries love talking about their beer and will give samples in many cases. This place doesn't seem like they want to chat with their guests and educate on what they brew. No biggie - with flights you can figure it out yourself. They had some solid beer, but nothing that knocked my socks off. I love the decor and the tap handles are cool. I'd pop in again if in the area, but too many other breweries around to make much effort. read more

Been coming here for a while and owe this awesome place a review. By far my favorite brewery in the Northwest Peoria area. Beers are always on point and always hit the spot for many styles and their seltzers (yes they have their own seltzers) have now hit a point where those who aren't fans of beer LOVE their seltzers! Not super gassy and over carbonated so they drink and finish well. Food truck Fridays!!!! They have some of the best food trucks on Fridays. When they don't have food trucks, their in-house "Cade's Pizza Kitchen" is crazy delicious and always evolving. Great place! Support your local small business! read more

Hit this place on a recent visit to the area. I just don't get it... Is it a brewery? If yes, why did they only have one of their own beers on? Is it a tap room? If yes, why so few taps? The good: The place was clean, had places to sit. Serves beer. Well curated taps. Service was pleasant. Seemed to be family friendly. The bad: lack of identity. No beer descriptions (this is HUGE). Off-putting music (90's hard rock). Owners(?) sitting in branded gear drinking at the end of the bar. No outdoor seating (maybe not an option?) Not having beer descriptions in a beer bar is just wrong. I'm a beer snob, and i know styles, but i want to about the beers I'm drinking. The music thing was just kind of weird. I"m cool with loud music, and I actually like the music that was playing, but it was a talking point while sitting there between my parents and I. Works to keep out the older crowd, maybe that's the goal (can't blame them). While nothing was wrong here, there just wasn't much right. The place was a ghost town, while another brewery down the road was packed. It just wasn't a comfortable or compelling place to hang out. This place is alright. It's a brewery but only two beers were theirs, and the bar tender pretended that they all were? The staff greeted us and then didn't pay much attention the rest of the time. Considering I work in the beer industry and was looking to get some kegs distributed, they didn't make a great impression at all. The other beers they had on tap were awesome. Theirs were alright. One tasted like Sculpin and the other was okay. Edit: Considering the condescending and unprofessional response I got from this review, here's a tip. A little training in hospitality and customer service goes a long way. Responses to criticism are not how you build your business. If a trip to California will help employees be more engaging and helpful in answering questions then by all means please stop by. Any form of criticism clearly does not go over well with your business so hopefully nobody else who walks through your doors is as unsatisfied or they'll really be given a reason to stay away. By the way, you really have no place to comment on unprofessionalism after your response. You're running a business, not being caddy to another girl in your high school class. P. S. Thank you for publicly showing how professional you are. I'm assuming you're the woman that stood at the end of bar, wearing cat ears, the entire 45 minutes we were there. Considering you said all of 2 things to us and the entirety of our visit was spent trying to ask questions to the younger gentleman behind the bar, I don't see how your nasty remarks are warranted. This is our go to spot when we are in town and want to catch up with a group of friends. The staff is friendly and accommodating to our group each time. They have a good variety of beers. Richter Aleworks is the perfect chill spot to get together and have a fun night out with friends. Next time we come we are hoping to plan it on one of the food truck nights because they look amazing. Another part we love is that each time we've come they've had different beers to try. Making each visit it's own unique experience. We love it! We can't wait to visit again! read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! My husband and I just moved here from Colorado and we were referred to Richter. We ended up here on a night when the owner Brandon was working and he was the just the nicest guy. We were given excellent service the entire time we were there. My husband really enjoyed one of their IPA's and I loved their Raspberry Saison. I also love that they carry other local brews so I was able to enjoy a brew from a brewery we haven't visited yet. There was great music playing and the other beer lovers were a delight to hang out with. We ended up staying longer than we originally planned so we'll definitely be coming back. read more

The rating is really based upon two beers served. One was the Richter Belgian Quad and the other was a North Mountain Hefe. Beers were ok. I can't speak to any other aspect of the place as we never got menus or really any other attention from the server once the beers arrived. There seemed to be ample staff for noon on a Saturday. Amazing brews on tap always, and their level of service is a perfect blend of high end brew snob-ness, mixed with a local neighborhood vibe. The beer was great. The bartender was friendly. Not a big location (maybe 10 Tables + Bar), no outdoor seating. We tried this out yesterday for the first time. It's a local micro-brew which I was excited about. There were maybe 12 People at about 2pm yesterday (Saturday), stopped in for a drink. Two bartenders (one male, one female). After about 10 minutes, we were never acknowledged, I had to ask the bartender if I was supposed to go up to the bar to order. He apologized and came right over. We ordered two beers, and asked if we could have a food menu. He brought over the two beers and the food menu, and never came back. We sat there for about 15 minutes talking, drinking our beers. Neither of the bartenders looked over or asked if we needed a refill. Once my beer was sitting empty for 5 minutes, I had to again stand up and walk over towards the bar to get their attention and ask for the check. I was never asked if I needed another beer, never asked if we decided to order food (which we had). I will not be returning. Pros: Ok atmosphere, would be great if they had some outdoor seating. Possibly put Garage Doors instead of the large window which could open up to outside. Bartenders were friendly when speaking with them. They also checked every glass before filling to assure they were clean. Cons: Poor service. with only 3 Tables filled, and 4 people at the bar and two bartenders, I would have thought they would have tried to sell more food/beer. Suggestions to Management: Spend more time with customers so you have repeat business. I was good for at least 2 more beers and food, but we decided to go elsewhere. read more

As another reviewer said, the beers were good but pretty much the same...I had a flight and could barely tell the difference between their double IPA and a pale ale. And the menu? Our choices were pizza or flatbread. And our pizza crust was burnt. So I'd say come here if you're looking for decent beer and a neighborhood bar atmosphere. I really wanted to like this place, but Jesus. I'll start with the best and end with the worst. The best - they had a decent selection of guest/local beers. Next, 4 of their 5 in-house beers were pale ales which asked about and the bartender stated "that's just what we have I guess." I asked if the current popularity of the this style is what drove the facilities' production of brewing 80% pale ale. The bartender stated, "I guess it's just what came up next." Next came the food. The seven dollar Bavarian pretzel and the seven dollar jalapeño poppers were the worst I have ever had. We did not eat them and reported to one another how bad and bland they were, and the server did nothing about it. The worst - one of the beers had actually gone bad and was undrinkable; we reported this to the bartender. He said we must be mistaken but then he asked the brewer who confirmed that the beer was not good and it was pulling from the very bottom of the keg which is filled with sediment and yeast. We did not drink more than a sip, and of course sent the beers back. We simply asked for a replacement beer and were told, "I'll think about it, but probably not." He eventually refused to replace our beers and charged us full price. The service was the worst. The food was almost as bad. And a couple of the beers were ok. We won't return to this place and completely understand why it was empty. read more

As far as a local hang out it is ok but they call themselves a brewery; when I was there they only had 2 of there own beers which were average at best, excellent Az brewery beers but their own were lacking. As far as customer service, it was weak, had to asked for beers, as for food have no idea never received a menu because the guy with the beard (told he was the owner) was too busy talking to his friends at the other end of "his" bar. I really had high hopes for this place and was excited to try a local spot. It seemed that two bartenders were working when we arrived. We received our drinks quickly and enjoyed them. They've got a great variety of beer! At that point, we sat with empty glasses and a menu thinking we'd be helped again soon. Apparently the bartenders had better things to do. One was quite busy with his conversation with what looked to be other employees or regulars, while the other promptly sat at a table with someone and put his head down, clearly ready for a nap. Once we were finally spoken to again, we paid our bill and went and enjoyed some beers and food at another local bar where service seems to matter. I should say that we don't require constant doting upon but when we got to a bar, we expect at least a little service. read more

April, Bubba, & The Dude with the beard (can't remember his name to save my life) are the sweetest people. Family owned pub with a constantly changing selection. Come for your birthday and get a birthday sized beer! Honestly it's just a plain and simple pub run by an awesome family. The beers are great. I can't handle a lot of alcohol so I get the $2 samplers and taste a few new beers each time I go. My friends are definitely regulars here. And they pretty much drink the whole menu. read more

Might have four stars IF there was a kitchen, more of their own brewed beers (there were only two of at least a dozen) and some ambiance. Pretty basic inside. Been open two weeks but seemed like it was still too early and lots of stuff left undone. They didn't have flights - yet - because they didn't have the glassware, and when we asked for water, we got a warm bottle of Kirkland. While the brewmaster was very informative and friendly, the owners were also there but not really interacting with anyone. Every other new local place we've been, the owners have made it a point to talk to people and thank them for coming in. It's a great way to make customers feel valued and want to come back. All that said, would love to see the place succeed. Props to them for opening a neighborhood brewery, but wasn't feeling the passion we read about. Best of luck. read more
