She got to the airport location and they were trying to charge over $1100 for a prepaid as Avis systems screwed up her reservation. The airport location called customer service to no avail. The reservation was canceled. That was 5/23. After many communications with Avis customer service, she has yet to receive the refund. Just a lot of we're sorry, the refund wasn't processed correctly, etc. Another time to lawyer up I guess. What happened to customer service and corporate America having 0 values. Their moral compass is at an all time low. I will be filing a lawsuit against Avis. My daughter needed a vehicle as hers needed repairs. Well since then, we've been scammed by the local Midas, paid $1500 in repairs to receive her car back with a whining transmission. Oh and the best part? I wound up buying them a new car. All of this money lost because Avis can't get it together and Midas are scammers. I'm glad they are moving. I've never been to Worcester and now have no desire to go.

The rental agreement was purchased through Hotwire along with the car insurance. Upon arrival, the staff at the location was preparing to close for the day although I had an appointment to pick up the car between 3-4pm. The gentlemen began processing my paperwork was moving quickly through the process. When it was time to provide me with the car, the gentlemen gave me the vehicle without completing a walk through. Due to this not being our first time renting a car, my friend requested a walk through prior to taking the vehicle out of the lot. During the walk through, the exterior of the vehicle looked fine so we expected to be in good shape. After finalizing all of the paper work and driving the car out of the lot, we drove about 10 mins away from Budget and the car began to stall while driving it. Long story short after further investigation, the inside of the car which budget allowed us to drive off with was corroded with fluid and was causing the car to stall, not start and not be able to drive even up the road. Budget then took 6 hours to bring a replacement vehicle which ended up having even more issues than the first vehicle when the tire pooped while driving on the highway. Budget was neglect full in every sense of it all from the faulty vehicles they allowed us to drive off with as well as their attention to the serious matters at hand. They are NOT worth the headache and should honestly go out of business. I would not recommend Budget to anyone out there. PLEASE BEWARE!

The phone was rarely answered, and when it was, I was given contradictory information almost every single time I called. At pickup, a staff member who was training a new employee was extremely condescending and rude to him. It was uncomfortable to witness, and no employee deserves to be treated that way in front of customers. I was also given the wrong receipt at pickup. When I called this location to get the correct one, I was told they couldn't email or reprint it. I then called another location, and they emailed it to me immediately without any issue. When I needed to extend my rental, I called and was told by a staff member to "call back because he doesn't have time right now." When I called back, the same employee told me he couldn't process the extension and directed me to another number. When I called that number, I was told that the original rental location had to handle the extension. I called back and relayed this information, and suddenly the same employee was able to help. It was clear he simply did not want to deal with it initially. Another major issue was the store hours. Both the Hertz website and Google listed this location as open on Saturday, but when I arrived, no one was there. I even called another location to confirm, and they said the store should have been open. If the posted hours were incorrect or the store had to close unexpectedly, there should have been a note on the door instead of making customers waste time driving there and waiting. Getting my final drop off receipt was another unnecessarily frustrating process. I was told it had already been emailed when the rental was closed, but when I asked what email address it was sent to, no one could answer. I was then told they would email it, they didn't. The next day I called again and was told it would be sent by the end of the day, again, it wasn't. On another call, I was told they "didn't have time." Each time, I explained that I needed the receipt for insurance reimbursement. Eventually, I called corporate and had the receipt emailed to me while still on the phone, the entire process took less than five minutes. If staff genuinely don't have time to assist customers, they should direct them to someone who can. Customers should not have to repeatedly call for basic assistance. The lack of professionalism was also obvious during phone calls. More than once, I was told to "hold" without actually being placed on hold, which meant I could hear everything being said in the office. On one call, I heard a staff member say to another employee, "I don't have time to deal with this" in reference to my call. That is completely unacceptable customer service. This location seriously needs better communication, better customer service training, and significantly more professionalism.

Business Rental - 02/04/2021 - 02/15/2021…read more  Drove - Worcester, MA to Lynchburg, VA  (roundtrip) + business miles in Lynchburg Highly recommend AVIS in Worcester over Hertz.  I've used both in 2020/2021 for business trips. Pros · Vehicle Choice - I was able to get an SUV with an AWD or 4WD system to accommodate my 600 mile (1 way) winter business trip. · Vehicle Delivery - I was able to get the vehicle dropped off to me at my apartment. Since I live alone, that was quite a help and a service not offered by my local Hertz office. Cons · Vehicle Pickup - MIxup - I was able to get the vehicle dropped off to me at my apartment, however, the pickup of the vehicle at my apartment after my trip did not occur as arranged. The AVIS office did not make this note in my account/reservation even though I have an email from my travel agent confirming the arrangement. · Windshield Wiper Fluid - Windshield wiper fluid was not checked/refilled prior to my rental. I purchased a bottle of winter windshield fluid when I filled the gas tank prior to my departure and a little over the 1 gallon bottle was used to refill the windshield wiper fluid reservoir. This is a big deal with a long, winter journey on snowy roads. I informed the office (business owner) when I returned the car. · Damage Report - At time of Rental - The car's damage report at the time of rental was not completed and delivered to me. In my walkaround of the vehicle I noted several areas with dents and/or scratches. I called the office who confirmed they had the notes on file for the car. This is a big deal as I could have been help responsible. I informed the office (business owner) when I returned the car. Vehicle Review · Vehicle - Mitsubishi Outlander Pros - Performed very well. Lumbar support was excellent. Good visibility; big deal with busy highway traffic and when reverse parking. - Hood & Windshield Wiper Reservoir - easy to open hood and use hood support. Easy to locate, open and fill, reservoir. - Decent gas mileage - Able to shut off all the automatic driving stuff (lane alarm, close vehicle alarm, etc.) Cons - Gas Cover Release - not very visible - Windshield Wiper Fluid Spray - Front Was not very good, wasted fluid since it pooled below wiper blade.
