I have a soft spot for this mall and I find myself visiting often when I'm in Longview. While it seems dead for the most part, devoid of any major retail chains, besides JC Penney and the Regal Theater, I do enjoy digging for old vinyl records at the antique store and visiting the Twisted Monkey novelty shop. It could do for some higher-end stores to come in and give it a boost, but all and all. I just like this mall and hope that it stays open for a while. read more

Well, shitty shitty shitty deal! Wanted to support a small local business that is being forced out of the mall, after starting their Cacao Kingdom chocolate and sandwich/salad shop DURING COVID! And guess what I found????? The food court is all taped off, and they are painting the ceiling!!! I am sure the owners of the mall KNEW that this tiny shop (that is the SOLE income for a local family) was trying to finish with a bang. Now there they sit, can't serve the public with all sorts of paint and chemicals floating around. NOT safe! Where is OSHA when you need them??? And two days worth of product probably all going to waste. NEVER going to this mall again. I was hoping for the best when local folks bought it, but you don't treat your neighbors like this. I grew up with this mall, there is basically absolutely nothing. Unless, small businesses, those are pretty cool besides that, it's a waste of time. The service security is not really friendly to kids that want a hang out they tell them they have a time limit. The selection of stories is very minimal and the value is not really there, i feel like a shopping center for these small shops and food would be better read more

It was a graveyard in there on both a Saturday and Sunday and most of the stores that were there weren't even open. If it weren't for the larger stores and bath and body works this would be pointless to waste time going to. Really sad place. read more

This isn't a "dead mall." It is only dead in the sense that most of the chains that are in every mall have left. However it is not empty at all (see picture). In a very interesting turn of events they have been all replaced by local businesses, with a significant portion of them being gathering places like game stores and kids playgrounds. There are some interesting finds here and I would definitely recommend going through if you are passing on I5, as it is right on the highway. The only factor that keeps it from being a must-stop is a lack of a good food court. read more

This mall has really gone downhill. There's no food court anymore, they don't have enough stores, AND they got rid of Sears and Macy's. The Regal movie theatre and Sportsman's Warehouse are connected to it, and there's still a JCPenney's and Bath & Body Works, as well as AT&T, and an Arcade for now. Make the trip to Vancouver or Portland. That way you have the option of the Vancouver Westfield or Lloyd Center, and if you pick the Vancouver Westfield than they have tons of stuff right next to it, including an Olive Garden, and a Popeyes! But there's also TONS of other GREAT malls! (Check my reviews, I think that I've reviewed all of the good ones!) (Vancouver Westfield is probably better, and my favorite, AND closer, but I also do have a real connection with Lloyd Center.) read more

Stopped in here on a follow up returning visit from the Oregon and Washington coast (it was "black Friday" after all). The mall has covered over the Sears anchor entrance with Santa's village, but otherwise my review is very much the same. Regal Cinemas is supposed to open a 12-screen theater where Sears was located, but no demolition has started - probably waiting for post-Christmas shopping. The tenant mix here is still awful - mostly retailers that teenagers can shop (Claire's, maurices, Bath and Body Works). The mall has a new owner - Rouse. Hopefully they can do more with it than GGP did (GGP bought John Price Realty). This mall opened in 1986. The food court here is now down to one operation. The remainder is walled off. If you need to dine and are in the area, there's a Chuck-e-Cheese on mall property as well as several adjacent table-service restaurants. read more

I like the idea of this store, but the prices of the LEGO sets are way over priced. For example, today I bought a Star Wars Naboo Star fighter 30383 in a poly bag for $7.99. I didn't really think about the price since I bought a poly bag figure from them a couple weeks earlier for that same price. I went to target right after and saw the same LEGO for $3.99. I get "secondary value" market, but that is a 100% mark up! It's sold in stores and it isn't a rare LEGO. It's limited production, but so is every Star Wars LEGO. Not the best mall I've ever been to but it's good considering it's practically a mall out in a pretty rual area. They don't have your typical big corp fast food booths but I like how they have local ran businesses that make up the food court. They have some stores that are standard in every mall like bath and body works, and I don't know what else. Nothing exciting, seeing that Portland is just another hour away where Lloyd Center houses tax free merch! I just love that they hold the Cowlitz Gamers for Kids each year for the last two years! read more

Honestly one of the most dead malls I've ever been to. Granted that it's in a small town near the Oregon border, but there was almost nobody there in the peak hours of the afternoon; the most people that were in the mall consisted of people that enjoy playing D&D at the local hobby store inside. I also had the luxury of seeing a homeless person come in the mall to shower in the restrooms. I know this because I was also in the bathroom at the same time, unfortunately. It's a wonder how this mall is still open, probably saved by its movie theater that at least shows the latest movies like any theater should. read more

As a resident of Kelso for over 30 years it's hard to see the hard times that the Three Rivers Mall has fallen on. In the 80's and 90's the Three Rivers Mall was a mecca for everyone in Kelso to flock to. The food court was constantly packed with people eating from the 10 plus restaurants while other people shopped from the 40 plus stores. If they weren't eating or shopping they could be found at the arcade enjoying a lively friday night with their friends seeing who the top player at Street Fighter 2 was. I recall blowing a good portion of my paydays at the Three Rivers Mall in the mid to late 90's. That really all changed toward the beginning of the new millennium when the owners sold the mall to a out of state corporation. Since that time the mall has changed ownership at least two more times with each company basically ignoring the mall as it fell into disrepair. The most recent owner I feel honestly doesn't know what's best for the mall, they prefer to constantly increase the rent on the existing businesses to make up for what is lacking instead of trying to market the mall to big named businesses. It's honestly sad to see the mall that I love fall so hard. I live right across the way from the mall and I haven't had any reason to go there for over a year. The only time I even go near the mall is to catch the public bus to get to where I need to go. Pro: As of the posting of this review, the majority of the mall is made up of local businesses therefore they will fight like mad to try and get your business. Pro: Even though it is primary empty it still houses that community feeling. Pro: Parking is abundant, I figure only 10% of the parking lot is used at any time during the day. Negative: If you expect the big name businesses to be found here you'll be disappointed with the exception of Macy's, JC Penny and Sportsman's warehouse the rest of the businesses are local businesses so they carry a very limited amount of things to buy, don't be expecting big named electronics or top of the line toys at this location. Negative: The food court is a shell of it's former self, over a year ago when I was last visiting the mall there was only one restaurant left. Don't expect full meals either it's more of a snack stand at best. Negative: The hours, the hours for this location is extremely bad it opens at 10am and closes at 8pm. Back when I was younger it would open at 10am and stay open till either 9pm or 10pm. Other big named stores in the area (Wal Mart, Target, Fred Meyers, The Triangle Center) are still open when the mall closes. Negative: The people who runs the mall's facebook page are extremely petty, any attempt to suggest ways to improve the mall will be met with outright hostility or the person being ignored or blocked. I was blocked for suggesting that they need to advertise to bigger named businesses if they want the mall to succeed. Negative: Don't expect the same local businesses to be there if you are gone for a few months then you return. Since the administration of the mall prefers to constantly raise the cost of rent it forces out any business that isn't big named. Overall, I give this mall at this time two stars out of five, I'd give it less but I think the fact that I look at the mall and remember all my fond memories helps save it from that fate. read more

Many of the shopping malls of the United States have seen their hay-day. The explosion in popularity and convenience of big box stores and the Internet has made the once thriving mall a fading memory. The retail industry is a tough battlefield when it comes to survival and sadly The Three Rivers Mall in Kelso, WA has many fatal casualties and walking wounded. Macys (see my Clearance Centre review), Sears, & JCPenny (see my review) as anchors seem to draw in the most folks to the mall, but the Target that is adjacent to the property draws the most shoppers it seems. Chuck E. Cheese is a nice place if you want to subject yourself to loud gaming machines patronized by screaming children, dripping in sweat as they run through a literal vomitorium of plastic tubes. Sub-par food and a giant rodent just round out the ticket o' fun and frolic. On a positive note, we were impressed by the Kelso Community Library which is located within the mall confines. Very nice staff greeted us and were helpful. Decent selection of books and media along with computer access makes this a small glimmer of hope in the ever-shrinking desolate mall. A few of the more popular stores like Big 5 Sporting Goods, Sears, Payless Shoes & Claire's may be worth the visit for some, but it seems like it would be a better use of time to drive down the I-5 to a more populated area and seek a mall that offers more bang for the buck. The apathy of the property management is very palpable here. If the power is still running on the life support of this place after this next holiday season, the plug should really be pulled. The food court ranged from dismal to down right frightening. The employees at Cool Scoops, The Cookie Place, & La Herencia made no attempt to greet us as we walked by looking over the menus. A simple "hello" or a sample could possibly generate a sale. Blank stares into space and playing on your smart phone is,errr.... well, simply.... not so smart. Does Kelso NOT HAVE an environmental health department? If it does, then how does SHEEMA's exist in the food court? The mother and children stood in the food prep area barefoot doing school work and playing on their cell phones only briefly making eye contact with us. The entire area looked very unclean and confused with picture menus depicting Asian style cuisine, but a menu featuring burgers and corn dogs?? Maybe go with your heritage and offer some East Indian Cuisine? Then again, considering the cleanliness of your area makes a food vendor using a yak cart in Bangladesh look like a more viable option, maybe not. A few other things stood out from our visit to Three Rivers Mall. How many nail salons does one location need? What is the marketing strategy behind Lighthouse Gifts? It's stock is a mix of cheap dollar store trinkets, swap meet caliber items, mixed with surplus from the old Spencer's Gifts. Just a bizarre selection. The poor lad working there didn't make a sound as we wandered around. If it wasn't for his incessant typing on his smartphone, I would have been obliged to check for a pulse. So let's review the Three Rivers Mall, shall we? Pros: It is air-conditioned, Kelso Library, JCPenny, Payless Shoes, Chuck E. I've done my time in this mall. I've worked in many locations, including the former GameStop, Borders Express, Consumer Opinion Services, Leather Source, Lighthouse Gifts, and was the manager of a kiosk called "The Charmed Source" in 2004. I have watched the slow and steady decline of this mall for many years, from the day I first set foot in it in 1992, to present day. I've watched business after business become the prey of corporate rent stranglehold. There has been many good business come and go through this mall, and today it is merely a shell of what it used to be. For the traveler who may stop here to pass by, there is literally nothing. Two of the four original anchor stores still exist, Macy's and JC Penney, but they are barely holding down the fort these days. The Kelso public library and Chuck E. Cheese take up a good chunk of the North end of the mall, and it's still peppered with a combination of local and corporate businesses such as GNC, Bath and Body Works, Claires, Maurices, and Big 5 Sporting Goods in the corporate column, and Lighthouse Gifts, Cutting Edge, Sheri's Fashions and Island Sun Tanning in the local column. It's food court has ONE location, the exceptionally wonderful Cool Scoops. I've joked with my friends on many occasions about how one day I am going to pull up to the Three Rivers Mall and I fully expect to see the word "Titanic" painted on the side of it. It deserves a far kinder fate than this, and hopefully with the addition of the new 12 screen Regal Cinema they are planning, and the Food Court Wars Season 2 episodes to be filmed there, hopefully this can breathe some new life into the last remaining mall in this local area. read more

To quote Brody from Mallrats, this mall is , "The dirt mall." It used to be solid, an Orange Julious, EB Games, Waldenbooks, now it's just generic stores selling smokes and random brickabrac. If you want to spend far too much on clothes and perfume the Macy's is still open. I give it a year before Three Rivers turns into a flea market. When that happens, count on my review score going up, until then there's no point to this place. Cowlitz County's only option for mall shopping is the Triangle, located between Ocean Beach and Washington Way in Longview. read more

Walking to this mall gives you a similar feeling of waking up in a zombie apocalypse. All but maybe 4 stores are closed down and you might as well see tumble weeds rolling across the floor. The best part of this mall is the bathroom and that's sad to say. The 90s feel makes you feel like you went thru a time machine. The scale in the bathroom (25 cent charge) not only gives you your weight, but also offers lottery numbers and a fortune at the end. Saw a few shady characters and the only place to hang out was the sportsman warehouse.. don't waste your time stopping here, do yourself a favor and drive the 50 miles it takes to get to the Vancouver mall. read more

Don't go to T Nails here. She gave my sister French tips instead of a solid color like she wanted on purpose. The head of the place was also rude to me thinking I was walking off while my sister was still getting her nails done and I also left my purse on the counter so she'd know that I was only just try to grab my boyfriend's attention. Argued with me about what I wanted and told my sister that they would give her French instead of what she actually asked for. Honestly, this place is so sad to go to. But it's the best we have in the area. It really needs a serious upgrade. Every-time I walk in I feel like the world has ended because it's so deserted. I'm rating the Three Rivers Mall a 2 star because I think 1 star might be overly harsh...so I'll say a 1 and a half star and ease my conscience. I've visited this mall about every other year since 1998 and vividly recall days of my youth when they had a K*B Toy Store, Waldenbooks, and even a Camelot (fye) store. I'd always stop here on my treks to Long Beach or Seaside and take a breather and maybe get lunch or do a little pre-game shopping. I haven't been to this mall since 2008 and I just returned today and it's just one of those WOW moments. Like, what happened? You walk in the nearly deserted mall and you can feel emptiness, feel a sense of retail death in the air. That feeling like YOU, a customer with cash and credit cards wanting to buy something, DO NOT BELONG. Every other store front is vacant. And aside a few anchors like Macy's and JCPenney's (Sears is gone...RIP), and a GNC and a Bath and Body Works, the rest is pretty much small town strip mall second rate shopping. If it's any indicator there was only one venue left in the food court. It's odd because the mall is clean, well kept, and looks and smells like a new facility. But the place itself feels like she's waiting for the hammer to fall. I hate seeing that. I've seen it before with the Pavilion Mall in Southcenter when I was a kid, and the sense that a mall is empty and being there feels out of place...well, that's a hard road to recover from. Hopefully they can turn it around but who knows. A sign did promise a new Regal Cinema was coming soon so maybe the time to shine is a comin'? But for the time being, I'd just keep driving. read more

Rented tuxes at Mr. Formal for a wedding party. We did six total. Looked like any tux rentals that have been hemmed numerously. No big deal. Had fun at the wedding and returned the tuxes on time. 2 weeks later, 4 of the 6 of us get calls saying that there was damage to our tuxes and that we would be charged. I own 1 tux and about 15 suits. I have never damaged a suit and my suits arent even near the thickness of the ones we rented. The bottom line...SHADY! Dont rent from Mr. FORMAL unless you want to get SCAMMED. read more
