If you're feeling like a nice hot sandwich, their take on the Cuban is awesome. There is, however, one major (and easily avoided) downside: hot sandwiches take a very, very long time. To their credit, the restaurant *does* warn you about this, so if you're in a rush just get something cold. I stood around for about 20 minutes (!) at lunch to get a hot sandwich. The seating isn't ideal -- a few tables inside, and some patio seating out front -- but if you're stopping through to get a sandwich, you're probably not looking for a comfy booth. Went to Solvang and was staying in Santa Barbara, yelped a place to get a bite. Three Pickles is a great little mom and pop owned deli. My hubby had the roast beef and the kids had cold tuna sandwich. I had the Goodland club, delish! Bread and all the veggies are fresh. Pickle spears are delish as a side! Highly recommended! I just finished eating here for the first time . Ordered the Goodland Club on sourdough just to sample something off the menu . I paid around $10 for the sandwich but this one was worth it every penny. The sandwich came with plenty of meat and they did not skimp on the avocado either which was a pleasant surprise . I had to eat the sandwich with both hands so it was the proper size .All the ingredients on this sandwich came together well . Hands down my favorite sandwich shop! I LOVE the Canon Capicolla Club! They have great salads too. My husbands office frequently gets catered lunches from here that is how I found out about them. Gotta give this place a good review if for no other reason than their awesome version of a club sandwich (or as I call it, the crispy yum yum) and the do-it-yourself side of fresh pickles. The above mentioned sammie is like a club, but better because they use crisped up spicy capicola instead of bacon (and I usually LOVE me some bacon); it is just different enough without completely throwing off the balance - and they always use perfectly ripe avocado. They also have a pickle bar where you can fill a bag of whatever you like for yourself. People working there are friendly, too so that's a plus! read more

My husband and I have been here over a dozen times due to its proximity to work. However after our last visit we decided never to waste our money here again. We get the veggie sandwich with no cheese, being vegan, it's the only option for us there. The sandwhich really is pathetic, and this last time was the worst: one leaf of lettuce, a few pickle slices, some slivers of onion and some drops of mustard. Grand total= $15! Went to three pickles today I got the tuna sandwich and my boyfriend got the Capicola Club . I only got the tuna because when we placed the to go order on the phone they said they only have the chicken salad sandwich as a special certain days. Absolutely the best sandwich shop in Goleta. The pastrami is GREAT, as is the Lobero and the Goodland Club. The people are friendly and the deli is always clean. Just keep in mind that if you show up around the noon lunch rush, you wont get a table, it is always crowded around noon. I also used to always go to South Coast Deli. Three Pickles is one of the best, if not the best sandwich shops in town. They have the highest quality and attention to detail than other similar places. The owner works making and delivering sandwiches everyday and really makes customers feel like family. It is a little pricey ranging from $7-$10 for a full size sandwich, but they do not skimp on meat. I like to eat half my sandwich for lunch and save the other half for later. I've been to Three Pickles at least 3 or 4 times, not that often, and I always come away not all that satisfied. Today was no exemption. I ordered a Reuben on Sour Dough bread, because I hate rye, and when I opened the sandwich (to go) the bread was not grilled. Now I don't know about you, but I have never ever had a Reuben where the bread was not grilled. Because it was "to go", I couldn't take it back and ask them to fix it. When I ordered it over the phone, I didn't ask if they grilled it because I just assumed they would. Next time, if there is a next time, I will know to do so. There was a nice portion of meat, the sandwich itself was no big deal. It's not the end of the world, but I'll know what not to order from now on. And Norton's is definitely better. Also, what is the deal with so many diced tomato's on the subs? Way too many and unappealing. Same for the salads, way too many tomato's plopped on the top. read more

I walked over to Three Pickles instead of The Habit when my car was in for a service and am glad I did. I had the pastrami on rye that many here recommended and it was a gem. Moist, flavorful and delicious. The serving size was generous and I left stuffed. I got coins back from a ten dollar bill for the sandwich and a cup of water. I got there at 5 minutes to 11 and there were already people waiting. They took our orders at 11 and the food was ready 5 minutes later. The place was filling up when I left at 11:20 and I overheard other people saying that it was insanely busy around noon. It is located in an office / industrial area and there is a large parking lot. It is kinda out of the way if you don't work nearby but not too far off the beaten track if you are already driving. At 10 bucks for a sandwich with tax and 12 bucks if you get any sides it is not a Togo's or Subway replacement, but for quality ingredients served from a clean facility it is decent value for the money. read more

Overall a good deli, but not great. First off, their prices are too high. But i would recommend getting a half sandwich because the full sandwiches are huge. Their service is good, but sometimes it gets too crowded and I have to get it to go (tables fill up fast during the lunch hour). Good selection of food, but I just didn't feel that the taste of it was worth the high price. Again, not great but not bad. The best part is the smell... Smells like a real new York deli in there. Update : they really need a number system for their customers. They just take down your name. Well, they gave me the sandwich that another person with the same name ordered. I didnt realize till later. Of course i looked at it, and it was the wrong sandwich. I took it up to the counter, told them they got the order wrong, and had them remake it for me. And they did. 5 minutes later, they called my name again. They had my sandwich ready. Apparently, the first time they called my name, it was for another customer with the same name, and i got his sandwich... That's why it was the wrong order. NOTE TO OWNER: please invest in a "take a number" system to avoid confusion with customers with the same name. read more

I've loved this place for a long time (the one in Goleta). But lately, uh, seems like they have new people working which need some training. 1. They don't wear gloves when making your food. Today I saw a guy handling a guy's credit card and then go back to making sandwiches. Nasty. 2. I ordered a half veggie/cheese sandwich today, to go. When I opened it up it was literally just some mayo, mustard, cucumbers, pickles, and lettuce. They forgot the cheese, avocado, and tomatoes. Probably the three things I wanted most. Waste of six bucks and I'm still hungry. Oh and they used the wrong bread. And the bread was stale. Keep an eye on the hands making your food, and check your sandwich before you take it to go. Note I've never been to the one downtown SB, so I'm not commenting on that one. read more
