    Kids fish-shaped cheese pizza

I liked everything I tasted at Three One Four. I'd happily get the Ghost Town pizza and the meatballs again. Service was kind and attentive. If i went back on a date, I'd love to sit in the two seats near the fireplace. My daughter was low energy when we arrived but steadily perked up as the food arrived and wanted to share her thoughts in this review. My kid's perspective: - I really liked the fried dough and sauce that came with the meatballs! - The sad thing is that it only comes with three pieces of fried dough so we each only got one. I wish there were more! - It is magnificent! She's already asked us to return, which we probably will!

The pizza and the service were EVERYTHING! The place was very cute and in a great area - street parking available and close to the freeway. More on the food: It was hard to decide on what to get because all the pizzas sounded so good. We landed on the golden bear and had not ONE regret! That hot honey was the icing on the cake! We went with their pasta special which was good. It honestly could've used just a tad more seasoning/flavor but it was still really good. The dessert was cool. We enjoyed the flavors of the cannoli flight though they seemed a little harder than what I'm used to. They weren't bad by any means. Drinks - all of them! Perfectly crafted. I cannot WAIT to come back.

I enjoyed three one four. The place is charming both inside and out and service was so kind. They are busy on weekends, so make those reservations. While not sure I'd go super out of the way for it, for a neighborhood spot, it's a gem and I'd return. The really good: the pizza. Well cooked, good ingredients and well put together. We did the tasting meal for 2 and the pizza was the standout. We also went with the Caesar salad which was tasty. The meatballs were solid and the canoli flight was a sweet treat at the end. The not so great: the Fiamma cocktail I ordered wasn't the best. It was a tequila based drink but had an extremely thick and sweet smoothie/juice involved, making it almost undrinkable. I think the cocktail list in general could use a revamp. I love a good cocktail and none of these screamed out. 5 star ambiance, good pizza and a great location in a 'hood needing more restaurants. This makes a solid spot for date night or a friend catch up.

    $65 for 2 people menu

Really nice ambiance inside with a good lively feel. Server was attentive in the beginning but it dropped off as the night went on. I think it was the owner who said our party of 3 could do the $65 menu for 2 people and add on a salad which was nice. He also let us use a $20 off redemption for the meal which was appreciated. We got the appetizers which was a salad and Brussels sprouts and then the pizza and pasta came out almost immediately afterwards so the timing of the food served was off. I would highly recommend they space out the entrees so you aren't forced to either eat everything or have cold entrees after you've had the appetizers. Brussels sprouts and the salad were probably the best. The pesto sauce was good but the pasta was too soft and mushy, not close to al dente. Pizza was cold by the time we got to it after working on the brussel sprouts and salad. As others have mentioned in reviews, it just tasted sweet and was not that good - the flavor profile was mediocre and the crust was 1/3 of the pie. We only had 4 slices out of the 6. We were given dessert menus but the server also forgot the $65 meal comes with a cannoli flight. This seemed pretty basic for the service if you order a set meal so I encourage the business to remind the servers and kitchen to bring out the dessert if a set menu was ordered. You don't get a choice for the dessert either so this was an oversight. The box they gave us for the remaining two slices really didn't fit well so I think my friend just shoved them together upside down. All in all, I hope we can try them another time because maybe it was an off night. Kudos for the set menu options and thanks to the gentleman who let us just get the $65 menu and redeem the $20 off. Hope my review helps them work out some kinks.

This was my second time coming and I absolutely love this place! Such a classy vibe that although has plenty of space, still feels intimate. Great for birthday dinners and dates. Staff are always friendly, welcoming, and attentive. And the bet part of all they have an AMAZING happy hour! 5-6:30pm $5 all cocktails and their cocktails are amazing and boozy! Soak up the alcohol with any of their delicious pies and my favorite, baked pasta. Also, never leave without the tiramisu!

I was really craving some cacio e pepe (even in spite of my mild egg allergy) and looked up nearby places that served it. To my delight, I found Three One Four Pizzeria and their food pics looked top notch, AND the reviews were great! My husband and I went to check it out and boy, we were so glad we did. First, the staff is very friendly and we enjoyed the vibe there. It's very well decorated and the ambiance feels cozy, classy, and private. The Brussels sprouts came first, and I LOVED that they came with bacon and green grapes! I haven't seen that combo before, and the bacon added a delicious richness while the grapes added some nice sweetness and freshness that balanced things out. I usually am not a fan of meatballs as I find they have too strong of an onion flavor, but the meatballs we had here were perfect for me. No overpowering onion taste, great texture, and excellent sauce that came with it. We also enjoyed the gnocchi fritto. The dough wasn't too oily and yet was still deliciously fried. We loved the cheeses and jam it came with. Perfect pairings! We really liked the pesto rigatoni, too. Lovely refreshing pesto flavor that wasn't too overpowering, and great al dente pasta. And...I LOVED the cacio e pepe. It was rich, deliciously cheesy, and the pasta was perfectly al dente. Finally, we also enjoyed the East Bay pizza! I loved that it had truffle that worked really well with the cheese. My husband and I will be back to have more!

Wanted to check out this place solely for the cheese roll. Literally I was sold on that. This is a cute little spot in Berkeley in a relatively residential neighborhood to just keep that in mind. Parking is pretty good but again this may depend on what's going on. This restaurant has an indoor and outdoor area which is nice. We ended up sitting indoor and there was a window that opened up so it still gave us some fresh air. We got the brussels sprouts as an appetizer and they were so good. We didn't get them without the bacon rather have the bacon on the side. But they were so delicious. And the dough! The dough was so good. Actually want more of that dough. I could probably eat a whole meal of just that dough. Apparently the fried dough that comes with the appetizers like brussels sprouts is the pizza crust so that gives you an idea of what you're getting. I ended up getting the cacio e pepe because I want that pasta in that cheese roll and I wanted it to be rolled around that thing and made to be the easiest. And it was. It was pretty good and I also had topped with Parmesan as well (because, why not?) well I did enjoyed pasta, it was a little lukewarm and also needed a bit of salt. Those two things would've made it really amazing. The pizzas are really good and you really can't go wrong with any of them because again that dough is just so yummy and so worth it. We did wanna get dessert however unfortunately our server forgot to come check back up on us and offer it before the kitchen close so we were unable to partake. All in all this is a great place to come for date night or just to hang out with a small group of friends. Service was really friendly and knowledgeable and that's always a plus.

We came here to celebrate our 3-year wedding anniversary and couldn't have picked a better spot. From the moment we walked in, everything--from the warm ambiance to the attentive service--set the tone for a great night. This place is a fantastic addition to the Berkeley food scene. The menu was packed with tempting choices, so we decided to sample a little from each section. We started with Grandmother's Meatballs and the Little Gem Salad--both full of flavor and beautifully presented. The standout for me was the Cacio e Pepe, prepared tableside in a cheese wheel. It was rich, creamy, and totally unforgettable. We also tried the Golden Bear pizza, which had a perfectly crisp crust and ultra-fresh toppings that really brought it all together. Every bite was a win. Safe to say we'll be back--this place is something special.

This is one of my top 3 Berkeley restaurants and happy hours (!!!). Ambiance, food, service, all incredible. The pizza has a sourdough thin crust: light and airy, with just the right crisp. More complex than your typical crust, saltier... I love it. The Nonna is my personal fave: red sauce, fresh mozz, mushroom, sausage, thyme with a hint of spice... my kind of pizza! The Blueprint is Chef Brandon's classic: simple yet full of depth, with an incredible basil pesto. Hot tip: pair your pizza with "grandma's meatballs." They're rich and hearty with an amazing tomato sauce. And WOW, the fried dough that comes with it is such an unexpected banger and a fun experience with the sauce. Happy hour is unbeatable: $5 cocktails with any dish. I'm obsessed with the Fiamma & Bella (fruity cocktail girly always). Brandon and the staff are all incredibly personable and kind. Rustic ambiance, lots of various seating available, swanky bar... say less! One of my favorites!

We paid a visit to 314 pizzeria because of a coupon we had, an excuse to eat. We ended up getting the marg pizza, the golden bear pizza, cacio e pepe for the cheese wheel, and the tiramisu. Totally recommend the HH drinks - half off cocktails and $7 wines are worth coming back for. Marg - always my fav, and the classic was our fav for the night. Dough stood out above other pizzerias Golden bear pizza- the honey was a BIT too much and made the entire pizza sticky very quick - just a drizzle would've been enough. However, this is a more special one and would be great to pair w a savory pizza. Pasta - The cheese wheel cart was broken apparently, so we didn't get to see it up close - but the staff tried their best to bring it as close to us as possible. As for taste, I'm not a cacio e pepe expert, but this one did taste a bit bland. The ambience was a perfect date night - smart casual and for the locals but also modern. We appreciated each staff member who greeted us enthusiastically + were super helpful with drinks and recs. I must say the tiramisu was not the tastiest I've had - the ladyfingers were still a bit dry, bUT the presentation was fun! They build it in front of you, and I'm not sure if I know another Berkeley restaurant that does this. I must say that the prices are a bit high for what we had, but this place is def worth a try - esp for HH!

Amazing ambiance, perfect for both family dinners and date nights. Our waitress, Nami, was a rockstar funny, attentive, and knew the menu inside out. Everything we ate was fresh nothing tasted pre-made or reheated. The Caesar salad was so good my date (a Caesar hater) loved it. The pesto rigatoni was seasoned to perfection, and the Golden Bear pizza with bacon, mozzarella, and hot honey drizzle was a flavor bomb. The crust was fantastic, and that hot honey took it over the top. Fresh food, great service, and a beautiful outdoor seating area. Three One Four Pizzeria nails it.

A super cute, swanky vibe perfect for a fun night out or date night vegetarians and gluten friendly. The service was top-tier: the staff was so attentive and really made sure we had everything we needed throughout. We even got to meet the owner such a kind and welcoming guy! Highly recommend checking this place out if you haven't already. Pro tip: they suggested making a reservation since evenings tend to get busy. Don't sleep on this spot!

Such a beautiful restaurant with wonderful staff and delicious food. The happy hour drinks are a STEAL. $5 house cocktails is the best deal around. We ordered the cauliflower fritto to start, the aioli is the perfect sauce. I held back the leftover sauce to dip my crust into. Next was the potato bacon pizza, my husband loved it. So much delicious savory bacon. We also have the herbed ricotta pizza, that was my favorite with the fritto spicy sauce. The Itallian cosmo was my favorite cocktail, it was one of the best I've had in years. Cacaio e Pepe is served table side in the Parmesan wheel, we're ordering that next time for sure. Tiramisu was also served table side, so fun to watch and eat. Overall, happy hour is the best deal in Berkeley. There is no other place slinging these high quality drinks in an Insta worthy place with really delicious food. I would recommend this place to all my friends, but then I might have to wait for a table ;)

One of my favorite things about this spot is how dog-friendly it is. The owner's dog is practically the co-owner of the bar and is often lounging around, adding even more personality to the experience. If you are lucky enough to meet him, just know the dog has standards. The dog only accepts meat, so do not bother offering him the tortilla from your taco. Trust me, you will be judged. Another major perk is that they allow outside food. Similar to the Oakland location, they walk handrolls out one at a time. I don't know if they were short on staff because of the off hour, but every roll we had, the seaweed was soggy/not crisp. Unsure if it was not fresh OR if it was just sitting in the kitchen, and not the biggest deal, but I definitely preferred the seaweed at the Oakland location. That said the fish was good and the rice was well seasoned. I do think if I have a craving for handrolls, I'll prob go to the Oakland location.

We had at least 1/3 of the rice/couscous left over, while all the protein was gone. Overall, a solid meal. I'd definitely come back for the Maklouba and chicken kabob!

Just off the corner of Solano and San Pablo, not too far from the 80 freeway exit…read more At the tip of the epicenter of gastronomic delights-Solano Avenue in Albany. I was there the other night with my beer buddy and all around friend with the same first name as I (and that's another story!) for the tribute to the local beloved character that passed recently, Mr. Bailey Pendergrass. A longtime institution in the Berkeley music scene from way back in the day till present. An interesting, kind fellow who still walked around in skinny trousers and a leather jacket- even on very hot days. And a hairdo like no other! He kind of reminded me of a character from Rocky Horror Picture Show or someone who could be played by Johnny Depp in some hip artistic movie. A bit of an eccentric, soft-spoken, amazingly charming man. A joy to sit down and chat with who had strong opinions and a distrust for doctors and their prescribed medication's,etc. I don't go very far back other than six or seven years when I met him at a popular watering hole called the Cornerstone on Shattuck. He would invite me to hang out while he ate his standard hamburger and fries and wash it down with what I remember was cranberry juice. He could never finish the whole burger so he'd take half home but would eat the fries usually, with a little help from me. We would talk about Minneapolis (where I'm from) and Prince of course, and he would share interesting stories. I'd keep him company until the music event would start where he had carte blanche, complementary entry with a plus one at the Cornerstone. I was his plus one and it was fun one night. I'll have to dig up the mixed CDs that he made for me that he presented in a recycled/repurposed "In-n-Out" bag, it was a nice touch. There was a little hand written note as well. The IVY ROOM put on a nice event and many showed up to pay their respect. Some were given a chance to get on the stage and recall memories. However, the crowd never stopped talking, so it was very hard to hear their praises, etc. The bartender was superb, but I'm sorry I didn't catch her name, very kind and approachable and humorous and of course, extremely efficient! It's a nice cozy room with a lot of history and an eclectic group of patrons. I chatted with a couple of extremely friendly kind people. However, I left before the music started as after a long day of work, I started to fade. Thank you Ivy Room for opening up your space to honor Mr. Bailey Pendergrass, and the wonderful people attending this event.

A must-visit place for anyone living in the area (4/5 Green Stars)…read moreBring cash! That's the first rule of Schmidt's Pub. Maybe it's the only rule! I've been coming here a bit more regularly, lately - more visits in the last year compared to the previous decade, in fact. Now I wonder what I was waiting for. According to the East Bay Express, Schmidt's Pub is "basically your living room, but better" - that does sum it up, except that very few of us have living rooms anything like this, with a cozy fireplace surrounded by comfy armchairs and rustic tables beside sunny windows. Not many of us have living rooms with Old Speckled Hen on tap, or populated with an entertaining parade of quirky folk and friendly dogs. If the people and dogs are not entertaining enough then pick up a copy of Calvin and Hobbes or A History of Clay Pipes (okay, I made that one up) and have a little retreat with a pint. 4/5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact, based on these factors: * Beer on tap (transported in reusable kegs) has a much lower footprint compared to bottles or cans. * Allows you to bring your own food, which is good for folk like vegans who are often more comfortable with BYO. * The snacks available at the counter could be a bit more Berkeley (or Albany)! They were mostly from big corps - Lays chips (PepsiCo) and chocolate bars from Mars. Would be nice to see a more imaginative/ethical selection. * A great community space with an inclusive atmosphere. Schmidt's is home to many groups (e.g., knitting) and provides a second family for many, some who send postcards from their trips! * Finally, we shouldn't underestimate the importance of having a place to slow down, reflect and connect with each other a little. In that respect, Schmidt's Pub is worth its weight in gold.

Bartenders are friendly and drinks are great. The place is plastered with posters of upcoming events. I try to support the occasional pop-up food booth outside to keep them coming back.

We've celebrated birthdays, holidays, and taken new friends and old here. The perfect meet up, place for one/done or sit and stay a while. Good value, great Little Hill Mai Thai. During the holidays they have one of the best hot buttered rums I've ever had. Most recently, we've enjoyed their live karaoke (you get to perform with a live band) which makes for a pretty epic experience, the addition of local bands performing in the back of the bar, and the pop up Double Barrel BBQ with the amazing Lorenzo cookin' it up (yes to the smash burger, grilled cheese, and chocolate chip dipped cookie). Dimmed lighting, curtained photo booth, booth/bar stool seating..simply the best. Recently popped in and noticed new napkins with their logo and pretty menus with new creative cocktails/fun, localish names. Looking forward to the future of this bar, rock on!
