I sh*t you not, I paid $40 (including tip) for: 2 scrambled eggs, 3 slices of rubbery turkey bacon, 2 slices of wheat toast, frozen French fries, 2 packets of margarine, 2 packets of Smuckers grape jam, and 1 iced tea. The only positive was that it arrived within 3 minutes of ordering and I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. But, what a rip off ~ never again! The food was delicious and well made. We had a traditional diner breakfast and it was definitely one of the better meals we have had. The restaurant was also a traditional diner, but it was way cleaner than most. The guys waiting on us were swift and attentive. Good option for a nice breakfast. read more

Pretty unique experience. I lobe diners but didn't expect to see one in this area. The prices reflect the location so I get it. They had yogurt muffins which I never had. I believe they use yogurt rather than butter when making. Pretty good. All the food is solid here and I would come back. Plenty of space but does get packed during certain times. I can say I rarely write reviews here. I moved to nyc about two months ago and can say this is the worst restaurant I've been to. The food is beyond overpriced. Ordered pancakes and an omelette. The pancake supreme set was about $28 and I swear a $5 pancake at a low end diner is far better. My wife's omelette was fine but her potatoes were all burned. So food was beyond bad. If you want a good meal, this is not the place. Service was bad as well. Had to ask for water 3 times. read more

Though extremely expensive, $35 for an egg salad sandwich and an ice cream soda!, Both were delicious! Service was exemplary! Looked very clean, though I did not go to the bathroom and you never know how clean a restaurant is until you look at the bathroom! I eat most of my meals out or order in. They are quite far from me. I wish they would open something in the 70s or 80s and a little further east. That being said, I would go back as often as I am able and I would certainly recommend it read more

Pretty disappointed in this restaurant. There was a wait to be seated on a Saturday which was expected but I also thought it meant that the food was going to be amazing, I was incredibly underwhelmed. Our tuna melt was not even close to melted, and the omelette was just average. The food would have been acceptable if it wasn't so expensive, for two dishes we paid almost $80, at a diner! It's very hard to find a reasonably priced diner in NY anymore but I would sooner return to one with better food. Eating here was a decision made out of convenience -- we had just found parking half a block away from this spot after circling the Met area for what felt like at least 20 minutes, and we were starving! As someone who's been pretty careful about COVID-19 exposure, I was tempted to turn around when I noticed the staff's indifferent approach toward COVID-19 preventive measures in the packed diner, but the full house convinced me to stay... "Wow, this restaurant must be pretty great if it can draw such a crowd," I mistakenly thought to myself. Thinking back, I'm almost positive that most of the patrons were tourists who have yet to realize that NYC is their oyster. We were lucky and didn't have to wait for a table despite the bustling activity. Once we sat down, we were immediately greeted by our server, who, thankfully, donned a mask. I debated between the plain mac and cheese and the bacon mac and cheese for a long time before settling with the latter, which was a few dollars more than the plain option. The food came quickly, but sadly, the food did not justify the price tag of $20 ($18 on the menu, but $20 on the check). I've never had such dry mac and cheese at a restaurant before that wasn't baked. It was really lacking sauce (please give it more cheese or something!) and some zing to upgrade it into a restaurant-quality dish. I think I made the right choice getting it with bacon though because I can't imagine how plain the regular mac and cheese would be! If I could turn back time, I would follow my friend's lead and order the quesadilla which came with three different sauces. My fiancé thought the eggs Benedict was not bad, but he wishes that he ordered a side of potatoes with it -- hash browns to be exact, but this was not available on the menu. The menu was still quite impressive, as it seemed to offer more than your average diner. One difference, though, is that they did not serve complimentary items like bread and a basic beverage of your choosing, which is very common in diners. Personally, I thought the portions were pretty small, but everyone else thought it was on par with any other diner. I'd have to disagree because it's not often that I can finish my meal at a restaurant -- in fact, my whole group licked their plates clean. On the menu, it was said that if you pay in cash, you would save at least 3%. This was extremely misleading because it reads as if there would be a discount if cash was used. However, what they meant was there would be an additional 3%+ charge for using card. I hope they fix the wording on the menu. read more

Pass on this spot. Your in nyc where you definitely have options. I had ordered the grilled chicken panini press with mozzarella and pesto. Added some slices of avocado to it too. You can see from the pic that it wasn't a press but a folded up pita. The chicken was a bit dry and tonight to eat. I ate half and I was good. The hostess seem like a sweet older lady but I was a walk in customer and she thought it be better to gossip with one of the two only customers inside. Seems like most of the diners ate outside. Not a fan of those smoking outside while your eating and apparently no one cared. Regards to Covid. They don't care to enforce any rules of wearing your mask and I even noticed that the staff picked up the garnishes without gloves. read more

Not sure what happened to this place. A few years ago it was so good- always looked forward to coming here. Went today and wow- the food was absolutely horrible. Tasteless and all different kinds of temperatures. The worst was this soup- matzo ball in cold urine was pretty much what it was. There aren't many choices to sit down and eat on this stretch of Madison Ave, but Three Guys is the most basic, no-frills option. As a diner, they have all-day breakfast, as well as burgers, quesadilla, sandwiches, and salads. I came on a Sunday afternoon and ordered a Cuban panini ($24) which came with pulled pork, turkey, Swiss cheese, and pickles. I was hoping they would use Cuban bread for their Cubano, but it was just regular bread. Overall, nothing to write home about. If you are in a hungrier mood, I would recommend walking a little further to 2nd/3rd Ave where the options are much less limited. PS- Their service is pretty friendly and their restroom is next level clean. I trust these people to handle my food. read more

Business colleague of mine went to have lunch here. Bacon cheeseburger "deluxe" and a grilled chicken sandwich came out to OVER $71 including tip. What an absolute ripoff. The burger looked and tasted as if it was a bubba's burger patty from the supermarket. Literally nothing remarkable about it. The only saving grace was the tomato slice $ lettuce was fresh. Fries were boring, frozen, processed junk. The grilled chicken sandwich that my colleague had was a tiny bit more acceptable though it looked fry AF to me. We sat outside which was a mistake, NYC traffic and all made it ridiculously noisy. The wait staff, while fast, always seemed as if they couldn't wait to rush us off. We ate here because we were in Central Park and were hungry! This is a no frills, OG type of place. There was a table of little old ladies, but the restaurant was almost empty at lunch time. The food was great. My toddler had the kids' hamburger and ate the whole thing. It wasn't a typical kids menu item, it looked really well made and delicious (I didn't try it because I don't eat meat). My husband had a shawarma and I had the veggie wrap. The fries were perfectly crisp and the food was all really fresh and good. I also had a peach Bellini, which was absolutely delicious and perfect for a hot summer day. There are a million choices in NYC to find good food, but my husband is already talking about coming here again. Why risk it when we found something so good?? read more

If you stick to the basics such as breakfast food, this is a good diner option on the Upper East Side. It is not cheap, but the service is friendly and they get your food out fast! I have had chocolate chip pancakes, waffles, home fries, etc at different breakfast/brunch visits and have never had any issues. If you stick to standard diner fare, you should be happy with what you get. This is a convenient option if you are visiting the Met Museum--just a few blocks away. read more

It's convenient for me to come here every now and then to eat. Lovely, comfy decor and good service. However, one gripe results in 3 stars instead of 4 stars ... your menu advertises 10 oz. hamburger and the hamburger I got was decidedly more like 4-5 oz. I said nothing to your server but if I return I will definitely say something about a smallish hamburger being advertised as a 10 oz. burger. read more

This was our final meal in New York before heading to JFK. Yes it's expensive but in my opinion, totally worth it! The location is prime, food is high quality and service is friendly and attentive. High marks for the bagels and lox, the scrambled eggs and Turkey bacon and the club sandwich. Everything arrived quickly and cooked right. Even the side of fruit was ripe and tasty! Excellent brunch! Great location and love the food, and service is excellent! Wait staff is attentive to all needs! Order was literally cooked and served hot and correct, like it should be! My California omelette was delicious, potatoes flavorful and 7 Grain toast good and hearty. My side of bacon came out well done, as requested. My water glass was never empty for more than a couple minutes, which is very appreciated for someone who needs to drink lots of water per day. Despite the menu negative reviews, it was a great decision to come to this restaurant and meet our friends for brunch before heading back to our home state. OUTRAGEOUSLY EXPENSIVE!! Before leaving this diner yesterday, I spoke with the manager, letting him know I'd never be returning. True, prices are up all over the city, but 3 Guys' prices are highway robbery. Cottage cheese and a half-cantaloupe cost me $16; an ice coffee, $6.00. It's actually my fault I even returned there, after having had a previous visit with the same experience; that time, I was charged $12.00 for two soft-boiled eggs! The aforementioned manager acknowledged the excessive pricing and even confessed that he himself couldn't afford to eat there. It's too bad, because the place is otherwise a nice diner.
