It was time for Bestfriend and I to go eat and he said he wanted to eat American. As I wanted to try somewhere new, I hopped on Yelp and performed a search and came across Three Buddies. Based on the reviews and pictures I saw I decided to give Three Buddies a try. Three Buddies was easy to find as it sits right on the main road. They have their own parking lot so there is ample parking so once I turned, I hopped into a park and we headed inside. Three Buddies has a simple decor as the design aesthetic is straightforward and leaves the focus on the restaurant name itself. The restaurant was very clean and had a diner style setup with ample seating. Once seated, the waitress approached us with a warm smile and cheerful greeting. She provided us with menus, took our drink order, and allowed us some time to review the menus in full. With a variation of halal items on the menu, Three Buddies had me wanting a little bit of everything. However, I decided to go with a classic approach and get the Chicken Sandwich (fried) with Onion Rings (both well done). Once our order was placed, it was back to the enjoyment of the ambiance as we engaged in our conversation. When our food arrived at the table, the visual presentation was extra enticing. The aroma was captivating and after saying grace, o was ready to eat. This place has the most random menu items but it somehow works. I really dislike massive menu's and when restaurants don't know what they specialize in but this place is different. It's 2 pages but the items are eclectic. I've had wings, tacos, cheese steak, fried chicken sandwich, and tikka sandwich here. They were all good. None of it was amazing, but they were all solid. The tacos were American tacos with lots of lettuce and cheese. As far as sides go, I've had tater tots, hush puppies, onion rings, chole chickpea soup, and naan. I was working late and needed to grab some food for the home stretch. This place was close by so I decided to order a burger and fries through the Yelp App. I decided on the Mexican burger and placed the order to be picked up by 4::30. I got there around 4pm to see if I could go ahead and pick up the food ahead of schedule and the nice guy told me he would go ahead and put the order in. The wait was about 15 minutes and then I was back at work. It's located close to Chamblee Tucker/Buford Hwy next door to a massage parlor. The restaurant has its own parking lot and it was clean and nicely decorated. They have a nice array of menu items from burgers to tacos to pasta. They also have ice cream! Mexican burger was not what I expected at all! It came with avocado and slices of green bell peppers with Mexican seasoning...dats it! The description in the online menu doesn't say it comes with avocado or peppers and although the burger was ok, it's not something that I would recommend or get again. Really thick and delicious burgers! Ordered takeout via Grubhub for pick up and it took a bit longer than expected. Didn't realize how busy they'd be on a Friday lunch but makes sense - everything is made fresh and to order. Got the signature with bacon & grilled onions as well as a double burger. Both were great & meaty. Loved the grilled onions. Didn't realize the signature was 3 patties so my husband was super full and couldn't finish! Portions are huge. I enjoyed my seasoned fries while some were a bit soggy & he liked his onion rings. The batter on the rings fell apart/cracked really easily though so it was hard to hold. I don't know the exact reason I bookmarked this place, but it was on here so there must be a reason. And so I suggested it when the group wanted a spot to eat. And we always ended up at Asian spots so I thought why not here. The menu seemed diverse: not only having pizza, burgers, and wings but there's also sandwiches, platters, and fried rice. I am a classic girl at moments so I went with the fried chicken sandwich but with the Hawaiian twist. That sandwich was piled so high and super messy to eat. That pineapple slice made the sandwich more moist and sticky. It was a thick chicken piece so it's hearty and filling. The hubs went for the tikka sandwich which appears to be the most unique. Since it's the paneer version, it was crumbly and dry. Though it was good, the sandwich can be inhaled pretty quickly. As the side, he went with the chole with naan, and it was interesting. It appears to be a chickpea soup. But I guess it is chickpeas cooked in a spice. Lol. It was an interesting pick if you're wanting something different. The daily special is worth a visit too. On one of the Fridays, our friend went for the crab cake special. He said it was pretty good and only $9.95 or something really close to that for x2 patties. Came here late on a Saturday after a bad experience with another local wing place. I was surprised by how many people came in so late at night, but the wings are tasty and well priced so I can see why. The cashier was friendly and kept me updated as my food took quite a while. When I went in to pick up my order, I noticed the food inspection score was 83, with a citation for improper handwashing. That was disappointing and definitely something I'd like to see improved. I looked-up good burger joints in the area on Eater, and I found this gem. I got the triple stack, loaded with everything- mushroom, egg, bacon, and grilled onions. The burger was full of juice, and they used a good standard potato bun (I think). The burger came standard with American cheese, pickles tomatoes lettuce. I usually don't like lettuce or pickles in my burger, but together with the sauce they used- everything came together perfectly. Despite looking slightly unhealthy, I felt normal after the burger. Everything paired with it made it go down nicely without feeling too greased-up. Will definitely be back to try more! Definitely one of my new favorite burger joints. read more

The chicken Philly featured thinly-sliced chicken (similar to the traditional Philly cheesesteak as opposed to small strips), bell peppers, and cheese. It did have a bit of a kick. My husband did not love the meat preparation or the spice level. I actually preferred the Philly to the burger. The tater tots were well seasoned and had a good crisp. I went to the restaurant to pick up food for a friend and myself. I wanted to order chicken but I only eat verified hand cut Zabihah Halal chicken. For some it doesn't matter but for me it does. Generally when I ask owners they will tell me outright if their chicken is hand cut and will show me a certificate of verification or will be honest and tell it's machine cut. The owner danced around answering the question saying everything is halal. This made me uncomfortable. I asked specifically about the chicken being hand cut, he then said it was. When I asked to see the certificate, he said he had one but they were not allowed to show it to me. This again made me even more uneasy as I know of establishments that proudly display certificates verifying that their chicken is hand cut and a will produce proof of the same. I again asked politely to see proof that the chicken was not machine cut. I mentioned that I was Muslim and eating machine cut chickens was not an option for me and that it was important to me. He mentioned he too was Muslim and was from India. The owner started getting upset raising his voice at me and accused me of harassing him. I told him I could see what was happening and that I would warn others about this. He started using profanity and that was my signal to leave the establishment. Transparency and honest are always the best policy. An establishment nearby was asked the same question. They were honest and transparent and mentioned that their chicken was not hand cut. So I ordered beef, goat and fish dishes from the menu. I am giving one star because there is no option not to give any. read more

I came here in the evening on a weekday. I was the only customer there so I guess it's pretty slow during the weekdays. The employee was very nice and quick. The food was great! I got a single patty burger with the combo to go. Normally when I go to a burger place they don't have just regular burgers. It's hard to find a place that has just regular burgers with none of the extra stuff like extra meats and toppings and sauces but this place has what I was looking for. R and I came here for lunch this past Saturday, after seeing good reviews for this relatively new business. For potential customers, Three Buddies serves Halal food. Three Buddies has its own parking lot and it's decently sized for a small business, and I was easily able to get an open parking space. The restaurant looked small from the outside, but there was a decent amount of tables and seating inside. We walked in and the only employee we saw the entire time we were there walked out from the back kitchen area and warmly welcomed us with a smile. This employee was courteous and attentive, and is one of the business "Buddies." The menu has some variety to it, and the food is simple: wings, burgers, fried rice, chicken sandwiches, Philly sandwiches, and Buddies Specialties. Prices are reasonable too. At the order counter, R and I each ordered Double Patty Burger combos, which come with fries and a canned drink. The burgers have tomato, pickles, cheese and lettuce on them. There aren't any beverage dispensers here, so no drink refills. We sat down at a table near the window. It didn't take long for our food to be served, hot burgers and hot fries, at our table. The flavor of the burgers reminded me of the kind cooked on a seasoned aluminum grill, which is a good memory for me. The burgers were cooked well done, which is not my preference, and they weren't juicy like I was expecting. I did like the flavors. The buns were heated on the grill, also, and our hands got very oily from holding the buns. The fries had a light dusting of seasoned salt, so it was good that they weren't salty. So I decided to go ahead and give it a shot because it was rated fairly high and I do love the taste of a good burger. It's not a big shop, has plenty of tables, no outside seating but plenty of indoor seating. There's only one register so if there are a lot of ppl, you may have to wait. The wings didnt seem like they had a lot of lemon pepper on them, and they even looked like they were too lightly seasoned. If you go to a place like JR Crickets or the Local, you can see the seasonings all up and through those wings. These didnt have the look or taste like they seasoned them enough. The fries were good, zero complaints. The burger was juicy, so I will give it credit for that. But the taste wasn't super impactful. It was not as flavorful as I would have liked. And the way the burger was stacked, the toppings got all soggy at the bottom of the bun (because it was so juicy I guess). The lettuce was done by the time I got it home. I would give them another try but I am not rushing though. The price was good, really good. So it's worth at least trying out because maybe it was an off day for them. Three Buddies isn't the typical type of restaurant you'd think to find on BuHi but it is a good one. My husband is obsessed with finding really good burger places so we decided to give this place a try. It did not disappoint. The burger was perfectly juicy, not overly greasy and had just the right amount of toppings. Also the bun was toasted which gave it that extra little oomph. We also ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and a chicken Philly. Both also had that toasted bread crunch. So good. The chicken sandwich had some really good flavor. A good little kick but not over the top spicy. I loved the slaw and the pickles they put in sandwich too. As for the chicken Philly, I thought it was delicious. I actually prefer it over this other chicken Philly I had that specializes in Phillies (*cough, Big Dave's, cough*). Lastly, I'm not sure what they season their fries and tots in but man it's yummy. It makes it stand out from the standard fries. Three Buddies gets 5 stars from me! I forgot to mention the service was spectacular. What a great new halal fast food place! It's hard to come by a halal spot with a spacious seating area, great customer service, and good American burgers. Three Buddies definitely has all three on point! I got the III Buddies Signature Burger meal and it was delicious! The cheese was melted, the onions sautéed perfectly, and they did not skimp out on the meat in those patties! I ended up having to take out a patty, so em definitely up doing a double instead of a triple patty. The turkey bacon was also a nice touch. I would definitely come here again.
