This Place Rocks with Excellent Chinese food made by this Family & such a Friendly Staff too. Tasty Dishes & Freshly cooked food plus they have a convenient store for knick knacks or lottery plus more here at this corner location. Super Nice Old Lady & her Hubby taking care of me plus others anxiously waiting to place their orders TOGO. They have a little spot to sit down & eat but it's really a tight squeeze. A small mom and pop Chinese restaurant in a convenience store turning out delicious Chinese food and selling 12packs of beer and lottery tickets now if that doesn't spell greatness then I don't know what does! Coming here I could just tell that it was gonna be yummy based on the pictures and I must say this is some of the best Chinese food I've had in a long time! So I went with the pineapple chicken and the general tso both were delicious flavorful and just perfect my favorite part was the chunks of pineapple that was in the pineapple chicken as it just added so much more flavor to something that was already delicious, the general tso had a delicious flavor just the way it should be the chicken was perfect and honestly it was just sooooo good! The noodles and rice were both yummy too definitely even more so when mixed with the sauce from both my dishes but still yummy and flavorful on their own! So inside they have some grocery items as well as a bunch of bottled drinks and alcoholic drinks making for a quick stop to grab some goods with dinner! The nice older couple working here were awesome very friendly and quick to get us served up I couldn't have asked for better service! Overall this is an awesome little spot if I lived here I would without a doubt visit here often as the Chinese food here is delicious and definitely worth it so do yourself a favor and pay a visit and grab a lotto ticket too because why not! read more

Most definitely a hole in the wall but the food is so good. Showed up right when they opened and there was already a line. Food was hot and fresh and the owners are so sweet. We will be back for sure. Food is mostly to go only. There are a few chairs and tables but not more for take out. read more

Whoever said this is better than panda express, nope nope nope. It tastes plain ok. We drove a long way to try this place out, it's not exactly dirt cheap either. Everything was deep fried and exactly what americanized chinese food looks like. The taste wasnt anything memorable either. Save the drive and go somewhere else. We are huge chinese food lovers but this did not satisfy our craving at all! read more

Been going here for over 10 years! Food and service have not ever been an issue. Dont let the "hole in the wall" look fool you. Amazing food and Great service. My hubby and I are always greeted with a friendly hello and smiles. The owners are very sweet and kind. The rice, noodles, egg rolls, broccoli chicken/beef, shrimp-fried rice, and egg-drop soup are so delicious. The pineapple chicken & sesame chicken tend to be on the really sweet side, but when paired with the rice...super scrumptious. For the amount of food you get, you can't beat the price. Did you know that you can legally drink alcohol out in the open along the Riverwalk? You can't have an open container while walking around at street level, but on the river, it's all good! One option would be to get a drink at the local bars, which tends to be expensive, and they're not generally happy with you running off with their glassware. Therefore, going to Lucky's is always a good option! You can grab a quart or a tallboy here, get it in the paper bag if you insist on drinking on street level, but you don't need it for the Riverwalk! Drink up, buddy! This place seems to sell a lot of crap! They have a variety of San Antonio souvenirs- t-shirts, hats, and such. I didn't see anything I needed. When I went, there were a couple of homeless folks in here. One was buying a fake rose packaged in a glass tube, and steel wool. Hmmm... The beer was cold, but they didn't have the sizes that I'd prefer for drinking on the Riverwalk. Buying a six pack rarely makes sense when you can keep buying individual beers, since the six-pack will get warm in the Texas heat quickly. There are better options around here for what you wanna get from here- there's a Walgreens down the street, and a CVS down the river. There's zero parking for this place.

They definitely have some work to make this a comfortable dining experience but I wouldn't let it stop you from trying some phenomenal Vietnamese food.

compare this place to panda express and it's like eatting dog food. now know this place doesn't have authentic Chinese food. But with american culture, it has everything Chinese food stands for in America. From hot/soup soup, to chow mein, to orange chicken, it's has everything made to crave. They are featured on the travel channel i've heard. you can get a combo plate for about 5 dollars that will feed a family of 3 NO JOKE. you can buy 2 plates and it would be more then enough to feed your family and dog. this place is the white castle burgers of Chinese food. Only bad thing? It's located in the deep san antonio. Probably not the most attractive location, but for the food.... it was worth getting losted in this area. check this place out.....it's one of San Antonio's secrets. read more

It's a small mom and pop grocery store that serves burgers and fries along with other items. But I had to try the burger. I'm glad I did cuz it was freaking good. Bun was toasted, fixings were fresh and the patty was cooked perfectly with the right seasoning. Fries are crinkle cut Ore Ida style like the ones you get at Burger Boy . The dining area is also a bar that has loud music from a jukebox that's modern. And the $12 price tag isn't a huge dent in the wallet. Parking can be a bit of a pain since it's limited cuz there's no parking lot and you're forced to park on the little side street off Castroville Rd but don't let that be a deterrent. I just got back from Vietnam not too long ago and let me tell you this is hands down the best pho in San Antonio! The owner is so so friendly! He took me to the kitchen showing me how he cook the broth. We had a chat about Vietnam and the food and different style of pho between north and south. It's great to have fresh Asian produce that's reasonably priced - i.e. $1.50-2.50 / lb for leafy greens. $2 for enoki mushrooms. There's also a strong seafood section with live fish. Location is super convenient off of I-35. Parking is easy. I come here once a month or so to restock my Asian groceries.
