Truly an eyebrow artist! I have been going to Rani for over four years for eyebrow threading. She is absolutely amazing with a piece of thread. Rani always shapes my eyebrows perfectly, even when I cheat on her and go see another eyebrow threader in between our visits. Haha. In the past month and a half, I have seen Rani twice for her new service of microblading; the second time was the touch up which I probably didn't even need because the first time she did it they were perfect. I have been looking for eyebrow tattooing for a little over a year but never committed to going because I couldn't find anyone skilled and trustworthy. I was so happy to hear that Rani was licensed to microblade which is so much better than getting a permanent eyebrow tattoo. With this technique, I no longer have to fill my eyebrows in every morning. I just wake up and they are there looking beautiful and so natural. She literally paints each strand so it looks like hair, not just a blob of pigment. And it matches my eyebrow color spot on! I will continue to go to Rani for all of my eyebrow needs. She makes me feel and look beautiful! read more

I saw Rani for threading over 2 years while living in DC. She is an absolute gem--truly an artist and such a kindhearted person. Highly recommend her. read more

Hands down the best eye brow threading, healing, spices, henna, anything you can imagine, she does. Not only is she a expert in her craft but she has this innate ability to make you feeling 100 times better after her services. She truly cares about you not only as a client but holistically as a person. In todays world it's hard to find someone who not only possess integrity, authenticity at the same level of their expertise. She's the absolute best, and anyone who has has the pleasure of knowing her let alone receiving her services has found a real diamond. Thank you Rani for all that you do for your clients and the DC community!! read more

Rani is still amazing at Brows. You can now find her down the street at 1610 Wisconsin AVE NW at Spices. Text her for appt (202) 361-4064.

Rani is skilled, I will certainly give her that. I was always happy with my eyebrows and she gave me some useful tips on growing back thin spots I'd over plucked. I stopped going to her though because I always ended up waiting far beyond my appointment time and she consistently took personal phone calls during my service without explanation and sometimes without apology. One visit, after waiting 15 minutes after my appointment time, I sat awkwardly while she proceeded to have an extended social chat with a coworker without even acknowledging me. I had set aside my lunch hour to get my eyebrows cleaned up and even though I worked just down the street, I was late getting back. Kind of ridiculous if you ask me. I just don't think that's a courteous or professional way to run a business. read more

I will preface this review by saying that its been about 4-5 months since ive visited Rani. Rani is a very nice lady with obvious talent however I wasn't impressed with the customer service. She would discuss work related issues that she was having regarding her obvious disagreement with the establishment she was working out of. She seemed a bit unstable with her work location telling onw customer that she waa looking to work out of her house. Once I was seated, my brows were wonderfully done but then asked if I had cash. When I stated that I didn't, she kindly asked me to bring cash next time. I didn't return. read more

I always thought my eyebrows were alright since my sisters are the ones who gave me the shape at the age of 12. I never really liked how the inside ends were heavier than I would have liked. But I was always told to not touch the thickness. I decided since moving to DC 6 months ago that I would seek out the opinion of someone with plenty of experience. I got to my appointment early and immediately began to relax because I had a great view of the young woman Rani was working on at that time. While threading her eyebrows Rani's eyes got larger and she didn't even blink. While threading she was serious and focused which was a stark contrast to the welcoming smile and chat I received from her upon arrival. When it was my turn she accessed my brows quickly and was forthright with her opinion and what she thought should be done. I was prepared to put myself (brows) in her hands. So glad I did. After one brow was done I got up and looked in the mirror. The changes she made gave me eyes that appeared larger. It really opened them up. I can't wait to take photos because in the past I have always looked sleepy but I think with this difference I will not look so sleepy. After balancing my brows I told her I was getting new glasses on Monday. She gave me another opinion for free. She said that I needed to get more fashionable glasses that are closer to my face and flat. I am soooo very excited. Thanks! I don't want it to sound as if she is opinionated to that annoying point. She is forthright with her opinions but they are said very kindly. Let me also add that I knew I needed help and I think she could see that. I only met her once but I wanna give her a hug! read more

Rani is a BROW GODDESS. She really takes her time and shapes your brows like ART. AND she accepts venmo AND it's only $17 for students. Seriously, could not be more perfect. read more

Review is in regards to the receptionist/front desk service, not Rani's services. I called to inquire about Rani's henna services since I have a maternity shoot coming up this week, and wanted to see if she was available to do a henna on my stomach. Receptionist VERY rudely said in a matter-of-fact tone that she had no idea what I was talking about and Rani didn't offer these services then quickly hung up. Funny, her other reviews says she does hennas/mehndis. That was one seriously delusional receptionist. Definitely didn't leave a great first impression with me. I will be going to someone else unless they remedy the situation. read more

Believe the hype - she is a true artist. I'd never tried threading before I went to Rani. It took me about 5 minutes to decide that I loved it enough to spend $22 per visit (and I am a cheapskate!). Three visits later, I'm not only a client, I'm a fan. She's so fun to talk to... a real neighborhood treasure. Do yourself a favor and stop hesitating. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. read more

Being a woman of contradictions I do not spend much time on my appearance but I sure don't want to LOOK like a woman who doesnt spend a lot of time on her appearance. With that in mind I decided it was time to do something about my eyebrows. Also my neice's little kid suggestion that I might make an excellent witch for Halloween did come into play. I found Rani through Yelp and I was really pleased. A Saturday morning appointment meant a trip in to DC and time for brunch at Cafe Deluxe across the street afterward. This was my first experience with threading so I don't have anything to compare it to. I will say, that compared with waxing, I found it much less painful. Also it was nice not to be on display in the middle of a shop full of people getting mani pedi's. Rani took my direction: "Not too thin" well and moved slowly forward to make sure she was complying. She put in a nice arch and got rid of the ick that needed to be gotten rid of. The brows ended up looking like a cleaner version of what was already there, which is excactly what I asked for. I would definitely go to Rani again. Don't forget she has a Yelp Offer - $12 for an $18 wax. I actually forgot to purchase this but I mentioned it and she gave me the price anyway :). read more

Rani's fantastic! After trying a threading place near my job (and mostly hating it), I gave up on finding a good threading place in DC. I decided to turn to Yelp and found Rani. With so many great reviews-i crossed my fingers and gave her a try. The first time I went was right before a BIG birthday-she was fabulous. She asked what I was looking for-gave suggestions for have based in my face and then did a beautiful job threading. When I commented on the beautiful henna she had in her hand and said how I've always wanted tI get it done-she offered to do my hand! I left with flawless eyebrows and the most gorgeous henna just in time for my birthday! She's so friendly, very warm a talented threader and a wonderful henna artist. She's in Glover Park-and folks in DC make that sound like it's an hour away. I jumped on a bus in DuPont and was there in 20 mins-when I was done walked 10 mins down Wisconsin to shop in Georgetown. Quick to get there-so don't make excuses-you'll look great! read more

Based on the reviews on Yelp, i drove 1.5hrs from Maryland to see Rani. I grew my eyebrows out for over a month so that I could get a thicker shape (i hope to never do that again lol). I'm still on the fence about my brows. I guess i'm used to them being a bit sharper..not harshly, drag-queenly sharp...but you know. BUT...Rani gave me a natural shape that appears I could've grown myself (if my natural eyebrows were not caterpillar-esque). What i LOVE about Rani is that she does one eyebrow and lets you see it to see if you like it. I like this much better than the waxers I've been to who hack my whole brow off and then hand me a mirror at the end. She was very nice. Even wiped away my tears....because after over a month of hair...there were tears. But she was definitely thorough. Took her time, but not alot of time, to make sure they were even. I'd recommend her to others. read more

I recently relocated to the DC area, and ever since I moved I'd been looking for a good eyebrow threader. I initially found Rani on bloomspot.com, and after reading the yelp reviews I decided to purchase. I'm SOOOOOO glad I found her!! My eyebrows have been butchered and massacred by so many individuals who claim to be "experts." Going to Rani was a breath of fresh air. She made my eyebrows look absolutely amazing - not too thin (which I hate on my face) and the perfect arch. Unlike others she really takes into consideration the size and shape of your face. I find her prices to be extremely reasonable; remember - you get what you pay for. However, be sure to check out sites like bloomspot.com, buywithme.com, etc., for an even better deal. I'll be a customer for life (or as long as I'm in the DMV area)! read more

If you guys are on the fence about trying this place out, do your brows a favor and go! Location: Metered street parking is available along Wisconsin ave. Service: Before she began threading we discussed what I wanted; to keep the same width but clean them up and shape them. She did just that! As soon as she finished the first brow I was in love. Honestly my eyebrows have not looked this good in a long time. Price: I am a student so the price was $17 but for non students its $20. Very reasonable for such an amazing brow job. Tip: I went during the week and got lucky that she had no clients but she did mention that its usually by appointment, so call ahead of time. read more

Listen. Rani is a goddess and I can't let anyone else touch my brows. At first I thought I was being ridiculous and maybe I could get the look she gave me from any place. This is why I shouldn't argue with my "last minute, don't have time to get to Georgetown panic" self. Because of conflicting schedules and the fact that Guven is truly out of the way, there were times I couldn't get to her and so I tried my old waxing lady and also the threading place in the mall. No. I'm now back in the awkward growing out phase waiting until the next time rani can, quite literally, transform my face. I can't say this for every visit but when your brows are all grown out she really takes her time to discuss your shape and frame your face. After some of my visits with her I have stopped wearing makeup for a stretch of time because I want to enjoy that natural, clean yet sculpted look she's created. Ah, rani. Never leave. read more

I thought she did a good job, was prompt and professional. The entire process was quick and nearly painless, which is saying a lot in the area of brow grooming. Definitely recommend. read more

I had an appointment early in the morning a week ago or so. I had a little wait which is perfectly fine with me. She took a few moments to look at my eyebrows asked a couple of questions and I told her I do not like them thin. She did a great job and I well def go back! read more

I read all the previous reviews here and decided to order some Trubates and try Rani out. I'm SO glad I did! I haven't had my eyebrows look so good since a woman named Hudda in the Midwest used to do them :D She was VERY precise and actually evened out my brows--something NO threader has accomplished since I moved here to the DC area. Run, don't walk, to Rani's shop. You definitely won't regret it. She really understands the art of threading and how to create great brows to frame your face. read more

I first started coming to see Rani mainly for the convenience and because my other eyebrow lady in Georgetown went on maternity leave. But once I started coming, I was hooked! Rani is incredibly efficient and LISTENS, which is so important. I was starting to hate my eyebrows because I felt like they had been butchered since moving to DC, but with a little bit of patience and perseverance Rani made me appreciate them again and they are finally back to a shape that I love. Prices are also incredibly reasonable. read more

Close to my work and with yelp discount in hand, I decided to check out Rani's. She was quick and courteous. However, I feel like I've had better luck with other eyebrow places. My brows were a little unevenly arched although it wasn't too noticeable and they grew out nicely. I'll give this another shot! Recommend if you happen to live or work in the Georgetown/Glover Park area and need your eyebrows done in a hurry. You have to make reservations in advance though, take note! read more

Just moved to the area and was in desperate need of threading. found Rani on Yelp and based on reviews gave her a try. She was awesome! She listens to what u want and asks u from time to time if her work is satisfactory before she continues. Excellent can't wait to go back!!! read more

6/27/11: I was looking for a new place to get my eyebrows threaded because the place I used to go moved and changed personnel that didn't work for me. I found Rani on Yelp and set up an appt. I absolutely loved her. She fixed my eyebrows and took her time doing it. She was so professional but also friendly. I don't have very thick eyebrows so I have to be careful too much isn't taken off. I mostly just get them done to get the arch correct. She knew just what to do. She was awesome and I will totally be going back to her when I go back to DC again. The only bad thing about going to her is the parking. read more

Rani is amazing! When I first moved to NOVA, I would drive out of the way to get my brows done from her. Lately, I have been going to a place near work and while the lady there is great, I miss how wonderful my brows looked with Rani. I think it's time for a visit. If you plan on going during the weekend, definitely make an appt. She's very busy on Saturdays. read more

I had a mendhi party over the weekend with some of my top girls. I found Rani through an advertisement and, having wanted to do this Goddess Party for more than 2 years, I sent her an email, immediately to inquire whether she did this type of party. She said she'd love to do it and sent me some photos of her work. All of our communications, from start to finish were easy and comfortable. She was willing to accomodate my group in whatever way she could. But it was not until she started doing the Mendhi, that I saw how talented she is! She just "does her thing" and the designs were beautiful. Everyone loved what she did. We had a great party and Rani was a hit. I encourage you to give it a try, if you never have had mendhi- and reccommend her to people who have that special event- and want to make sure they get a professional to do the work! I'll check out the threading another time! read more

I had a buywithme coupon. She was great!!! She was so friendly and nice. The threading job was wondering and complete. She puts great attention to detail. I highly recommend Rani! She's really accommodating to my schedule, too. It's also in a good location and you can park in the street or in the Giant parking lot. read more

I've seen multiple eyebrow artists over the years (simply based on what's convenient) but I will happily go out of my way for Rani. I posted a review almost 8 years ago and still stand by every word. Rani is the best in the business. She has a heart of gold and her eye for detail is unparalleled. No matter what kind of disaster state your brows are in, if you want them to be well-shaped, full, and beautiful - run to Rani. She values every client and knows how to put a smile on your face! read more

I finally decided to try threading since I was looking to re-shape my eyebrows. I chose to go to Rani because she had the highest ratings of everyone else I read in the D.C. metro area. It was totally worth it! I told her I wanted them thick but with a high arch and she gave me just that! My boyfriend loved them too! He's always scared when I change my eyebrows because he likes them thick. Rani did an amazing job! It was kind of far but I took the bus, so other than time I didn't consider it THAT out of the way. read more

Rani is great. She is consistent and shapes my brows beautifully. She does not pressure me to remove other hair like my 'stache and she is always courteous. Negative reviews about her preferring cash (as most small businesses prefer) or the staff in the salon are unfair. Rani threaded my eyebrows, however I went home immediately to add Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow to fill in my brows a bit more. (I use a Hakuhodo brow brush) Note: I've been seeing Rani for the past couple of years and she's kept my brows in great shape/health. Your brows are on your face therefore one MUST keep them on "fleek" as they say. Go see Rani she is the eyebrow goddess & you won't be disappointed. I should also probably mention that Rani is in the basement of the salon located in Glover Park. If you walk into the salon just ask for Rani and they'll point you in the right direction. read more

Threading with Rani - People ALWAYS: Where do you get your brows done? I answer Rani threads I do the rest! - Hair Removal Near Me - Washington, DC, District of Columbia

$18!???!!? You have got to be kidding me! How could that possibly warrant only 1 $ on yelp.com? Rani may be good at what she does, but I could easily go to Tyson's mall and get it done for $10 instead. That's still more expensive than what I'd like to pay (usually can find places in NYC that charge $6 for an excellent job) but since moving to DC I can't find anyone who does a good job for under $10. The search continues... read more

I went here after reading rave reviews on yelp, but I was disappointed. I didn't feel like she gave me a great shape and it was extremely painful. I had a much better and attractive result with less pain and less money at the kiosk for "Perfect Eyebrows" at tysons mall. I felt like she look too long, wasn't very friendly and didn't ask what I wanted, and the people downstairs were incredibly snobby and rude. Just not a great experience. Disappointed. read more

There isn't much to say other than Rani is the best there is and I have much love for her! She is extremely skilled and effieicent. I sit back in her chair, she does her magic, and 15 minutes later I babble about how she made me pretty again. She gets her 20, I tell her I'll she her same time, same place in 4 weeks and I'm on my way. She is great at maintaingin arches, she makes suggestions on how to maintain them and help them grow, and the whole process isn't as painful as other hair removal techniques. As for parking, park in the Whole Foods lot and keep it moving. read more

I went to see Rani twice... the first time, I was really hopeful, she seemed like she really knew what she was doing. My eyebrows had been really messed up so I had grown them out for over two months. Rani barely took anything off, she just cleaned them up a bit and said we'd leave the rest to grow out so she can work on them gradually and bring the shape back. I was happy with this plan... My second appointment... I think she completely forgot who I was or that she had a plan, even though I reminded her... she made my eyebrows uneven and one of them was short!!! She also made them SO far apart!! When i saw the separation between my brows, I asked her why she took so much off? I'd worked so hard at them growing back... her response? well... I had to. WTF lady... I grew them out like you told me to and then you just rip them all out?! She had another customer waiting too and they exchanged some words in another language after I made my comment which I thought was also completely rude and disrespectful. She also cusses a lot... which I normally wouldn't really care about, but hello... so unprofessional... read more

I went there for about 7 months or so, and had pretty mixed experiences, ending in one really bad experience. She would often answer texts, take calls, etc. while threading, which just didn't make for a comfortable business experience. And in my most recent visit one eyebrow was visibly thinner and arched higher than the other - I'm now trying to grow them back out to make them even again. As soon as I saw the issue I pointed it out and she admitted that she had messed up. Will not be going back. read more

What could they possibly be doing to charge almost 20 bucks? I wouldn't try it even for half the price - it's an outrage for someone to roll some thread across my eyebrows for that price when you can go to any surrounding area and get it beautifully done for $10 - $12. Go to other cities and get it done for $6!! read more
