They are an order at the counter place or order online and there is table seating near the Woodfellas counter/open pizza kitchen area. Recently, I placed an online order at Woodfellas in Putnam through Toast. I ordered the 12" Jackson Hole ($17.99 plus tax), which took about 25 minutes to be all set after I ordered. I watched the staff make pizzas and bake pizzas in their Italian wood fired pizza oven. My pizza was really great, which was topped with plenty of toppings including pepperoni, sausage, onions, red peppers, mushrooms, red sauce, and melted cheese on a firm thin crust with slightly charred edges in true CT fashion. So what better time to take advantage of a place that accounts for a good part of their business. In our town, there are a lot of pizza places but there are none that we regularly patronize. We always had issues: too greasy, too fluffy in the crust, sparse toppings, wrong orders and so on. We didn't want to go way out of our way, so we decided to try this place. Phoned in order which was for a small pepperoni and a small olive and bacon pizza. Got my number and said it would be ready in 20 minutes. Drive to there and walked in. Due to the virus, all chairs were placed on top of the tables. The place did look very clean and the decor wasn't dated. They were busy, and when I arrived I was told the pizza will be ready in a couple of minutes. They are using a conveyor type oven for the pizza, which will let the pizzas all go thru at the same length of time. Took them home and opened them up. This is how a pizza should be made. The crust was the perfect thickness and cooked just right, not under cooked or burnt, the right amount of toppings, not sparse and not over stuffed, and the right amount of cheese. We've been to places that use a ridiculous amount of cheese, and when you eat it, it overpowers the toppings, and chews like you trying to eat gum! The grease at the bottom was minimal on both. Again, IMHO, this is what a pizza should look and taste like. They do have a full menu, but again, this is for pizza and for take out. Next time we'll try another menu item, but I know I will have trouble getting past the pizza!

The garlic is the first thing that hits the senses, and if that's too much for you, then crack a window when driving home with it. They do have options but it's mostly takeout place. They have a great selection for soda and drinks and I've never had a bad meal with them. The prices are competitive to anywhere else in the area. personally I wish they would stay open later, but that's kind of the trouble with a lot of small businesses compared to large corporations like domino's. The service is always polite. Just be careful Fridays and Saturday nights. They're usually pretty slammed so give them some patience. The only real complaint I have is the parking a lot of it is street related and people do not respect when you have to pull into the alleyway right next to it, but that's more of the general public rather than the actual business itself. Just be careful when parking on Main Street, People drive crazy there.

The bread is absolutely amazing and seems very fresh. The pizza is great! But the only complaint I do have is that the pizza seems a little bit inconsistent. Sometimes it's absolutely amazing... And sometimes it's a little bit better than school Pizza. But I will definitely still keep going there. Especially for their subs and fried dough bites.
