Driver was late for pickup. Vehicle was not car or SUV as expected but an 8-12 passenger Transit van for 2 passengers! Vehicle had a broken windshield, bad brakes, and could not maintain speed on hills. Unlikely to repeat. read more

This is the first of two reviews for Thomas Transportation. I am writing two because two aspects of their operation are totally opposite. I have taken several tours with Thomas. The drivers and guides, especially Norma and Eric, are always friendly, pleasant, knowledgeable, and ready to help with any concerns., and deserve a 5 star review. They also bring along plenty of snacks. You will definitely enjoy a Thomas Transportation Tour, EXCEPT... (on to review # 2 Okay, Yelp won't let me post a 2nd review at the moment, so here's the BAD part about Thomas. YOU WILL BE TAKING YOUR LIFE IN YOUR HANDS RIDING ON THEIR POORLY MAINTAINED EQUIPMENT. On three tours, the bus were were supposed to have was replace with an older bus because the original had broken down. Once, I can understand., But THREE TIMES IN 2 YEARS? That indicates shoddy maintenance, especially to someone like myself who was in the transportation industry for decades. On my most recent trip, on 4/24/19 to the 9/11 Memorial in New York City, the substituted bus has a horrible vibration from the rear axle. One of the tires was clearly scalloped from being used while out of balance, but that and worse as the was only part of the issue, as the vibration kept getting worse day went on, especially when the driver made right turns or lane changes. By the time we arrived back in Keene, everyone gave sighs of relief that the rear wheels or axle hadn't fallen off the bus while we were still on the highway. Several seats were also broken or torn. There's no excuse for such shoddy maintenance. read more

We don't understand some of the poor reviews here. Our experience with Thomas has been very good, and we have no hesitation in recommending them to others. We use Thomas to get between Keene and Logan Airport, and they are reasonably priced and reliable, a highly under-valued quality. We made arrangements for an early morning pickup after a red-eye flight into Logan, and the Thomas driver was waiting for us. In addition, there was plenty of contact before that to be certain we were on the same page with the dispatcher. We were. The cost is $49 each way, and they use several vehicles; we have been in a van and a Ford Fusion; both were comfortable, and the drivers were on-time, friendly and courteous (handling baggage, providing bottles of water, etc.). This seems to us a good company providing a good service. read more

I have used Thomas Transportation for transportation between Logan and Bradley Airports and Keene, NH once or twice a year for about 15 years. I have never had a bad experience. They have always been waiting at the airport to pick me up, even if my flight arrived hours late. When picking me up to take me to the airport, they have always been on time or several minutes early. I have never missed a flight, even the one time when we ran into a very bad traffic jam. Thomas knows how much of a cushion to give you so you can be sure you'll get to the airport in time for your flight. Drivers have always been courteous and safe. My only complaint is that the cost has gone through the roof, costing nearly as much as my airfare from Denver to Boston. read more

Our school has utilized these guys a few times to take us to the airport on institutionally-sponsored trips. They're generally comfortable and have amiable drivers. One morning, though, coming back from Costa Rica, we had a lot of trouble reaching one of the drivers. He was nearly two hours late and I made at least three or four repeated phone calls before I could get in contact with dispatch, who had him call me on my cell phone. He was still over an hour away. Not a cause to avoid the business entirely, but that was unimpressive. This type of business is predicated on reliability. read more

Emailed company to see if limo was available for certain date, they said yes and to call and book, so I ordered tickets for an event we were going to bring the limo to. Called the next day to book the limo only to find out that it had been booked two months ago for that date! Get your communication straight,Thomas transportation! read more

My family has used Thomas Transportation for decades and we typically find it to be a high quality experience with great customer service. Unfortunately, the company under-delivered on basic logistics and customer service on a recent group charter, which is leading me to look elsewhere for charter services for my business needs. The company charter we took did not appear to be equipped with GPS or up-to-date directions. The driver got lost twice on a trip to NYC. The driver asked the group for a smart phone to use the GPS (why does the company not have this?) when he got lost. My expectation is that when paying for a charter, a company will know multiple routes into the city and be able to get our group to our destination. The driver additionally ignored my request to go to a bus drop-off closer to our destination and instead our group had to walk 10 minutes (reminder, we were already late for our meeting due to the bus driver's error in missing a tunnel entrance) instead of being a little over one block from our destination. The drop-off location also made other logistics, such as picking up catering for the group, more difficult. I was not upset about the late time we were getting into the city due to regular traffic, weather conditions, road construction, etc. It was primarily the way the manager responded to my colleague when raising these issues - refusing to take any responsibility for the driver getting lost and not listening to my instructions - and furthermore not using the most professional and customer-oriented tone and language in his response. read more

I will never book with them again! They encouraged you to do a walking tour on their site for the haunted happenings trip. We booked it, it was the only tour that had an opening on Saturday and it was non-refundable! Thomas Charters cancelled the trip! They offered a Sunday trip for free but when I asked them to compensate me for the $33.92 I'm now out, their response was "sorry, we only cover transportation". I'm dumbfounded! That was the worst customer service I've ever had and encourage everyone to reconsider booking with them! read more

Don't expect to get a refund or exchange on any excursion from Thomas Transportation even if there is a death and funeral. We were given an excursion as a birthday gift, but there was a death and the funeral was scheduled on the day of the excursion. While initially Thomas Transportation said that we could exchange the trip for another (a week before the trip), they then changed their mind and we lost everything - $240. They would not even give a voucher for the portion of the trip that was not theirs - in this case, a boat ride and dinner. I called the company that provided the boat ride and dinner and they said that if they had 48 hours notice, they would not have charged them. Thomas Transportation were to pay, when they arrived. (Thomas Transportation said that they had already paid.) All it would have taken was phone call, but that was too much for them to do. So our meals were packed up and sent home for someone at the company to enjoy. read more

I had the most horrific ride with Thomas Transportation from Swanzey to Logan!! White knuckled, terrifying!! The driver (who did not introduce himself), was angry with management for making him take a run to Hartford after dropping me off. He drove 15 mph over the speed limit the whole way (70 in a 55, 50 in a 35 etc.). In the fast lane, he was using his knee to steer the car, while tailgating the guy in front of him and opening his screw top Mountain Dew and fiddling with his smart phone - again, while doing 70 in a 55. He had road rage too! I was texting my good friend in Keene the whole way about how scared I was!! How did Thomas handle this?? I was looking for the trip to be refunded (sure, I made it to Logan but with sheer luck!), instead they are crediting me a measly $30. They indicated that this driver had people requesting him and insinuated that maybe I was overstating the truth!! Really, Ed Thomas and Melissa; that's how you're going to handle this??!! Shame on you! Thomas's job is to drive, that's what you're in business to do. The egregious manner that the driver took me to Boston should have gotten us killed!!! 30 bucks, REALLY??!! Fantastic service! I called them in a pinch to get from Boston, MA to Brattleboro, VT in 24 hours. I found and contacted Thomas Transportation. They require 48 hours notice, but were accommodating in finding me a spot on a ride for 9:30 p.m. the same day. I rode in a four-door Ford with one other passenger. The driver was very kind and thoughtful - VERY KIND and VERY THOUGHTFUL. The conversation was pleasant, the ride was smooth and we got to VT in great time. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a bus trip. We went to NYC last December. The driver didn't know how to get to Manhatten without going through Queens. He demanded we show up by 6PM for the return trip but he didn't show up until 7:45 PM. He didn't stop for any break on the way back to Keene. The toilet was filthy (I don't think they had cleaned the bus). I will never use this company for any reason again. Caveat Emptor. read more

After wondering why my normally $60 shuttle service from Keene to Logan Airport cost me $180 this weekend, it's because the driver offered to drive me directly to my dorm instead of to the Keene bus station (which is literally an extra minute drive down main street). Had I known that obliging to the driver's kind offer would cost me $120 compared to being dropped off a few hundred feet down main street, I would have never said yes. Called Thomas to get it sorted out, but all I got was a nasty secretary and a manager who said he didn't have to talk to me. These sorts of companies that lack the basic ability to communicate with their customers should be torn down. Do not use this company; they may get you where you need to go, but they'll fight tooth and nail to bleed your wallet dry. read more

If I could have given them no stars and written a review I would have. My college aged daughter was to be picked up by them in Boston and brought to Keene. They called a few days in advance and canceled her pick up time and had to change it to an earlier time. She had to make special arrangements to be available at that time. Then, they called the day of pick up and told her they were going to be late picking her up. And, then, they called back 45 minutes after her scheduled and paid for pick up time and told her they couldn't pick her up because they had another passenger with large luggage and couldn't fit her in the car. They left her standing at a train station at night. They told her they could get her 4 hours later. The agent suggested that she was in Boston and could have fun in the city while waiting! She was carrying luggage herself. How could she just walk around the city of Boston for 4 hours? They left my child standing outside at a train station because someone else had large luggage. Who does that? Good luck to anyone who uses them. read more

This company was the one and only huge disappointment for our wedding. Booked almost one yr in advance for motor coach to transport my guests to and from hotel on the wedding day. Just 1 month before the wedding they out of the blue told me "a motor coach will no longer be available" on my wedding date (despite a deposit being sent almost 1 yr in advance.) At this point my only option is a schoolbus- fine, as long as my guests are transported safely. Only after the wedding coordinator reached out did they offer me a $300 discount for this. The following 3 wks I repeatedly requested by email/phone an updated contract/invoice with my payment in full, again only receiving 1 when the wedding coordinator reached out. Finally, the worst part, on the wedding day, guests were (thankfully) picked up at correct times, however at the end of the night, the driver left without my husband's parents. You wouldnt mind but my FIL had ALREADY tipped the lady in advance on the bus there & ppl on the bus were shouting telling her to wait for them, as she continued driving away. When I emailed my concerns, I was told that their lack of communication was a "non-issue" and that they spent "more time on my wedding than any other wedding this year."
