I visited this station for it's historical significance. Although not the original station (built…read morein 1875 ) in town, this building was completed in 1911 for the Boston & Albany Railroad. At it's peak, 140 trains were making there way through this station, daily. Over the years it has served a variety of railroads and switched hands multiple times. As routes were moved away from Worcester, ridership decreased and in 1972 Amtrak boarded up the building and began to use a much smaller brick building nearby as it's station. By 1992 a group of locals began efforts to rehab the old station to it's original beauty. After several years of effort and planning, during which the building was purchased by the Commonwealth of MA, the building finally began restoration and in 2000 the building reopened to railway passengers. A small part of the station is set aside for rail passengers. Here you'll find a map of commuter rails and a MBTA ticket kiosk. There is no Amtrak customer service available here. You can purchase Amtrak tickets originating at this station through their web site. There is a small waiting area, a Worcester public library book vending machine, a police substation and a QR code that will link you to a walking tour of the Blackstone canal area. There is an elevator up to the platform level and ramps down to the bus level. Three vending machines are available for snacks and beverages. Public restrooms are older but clean enough as public restrooms go. The main part of the building is a beautiful vaulted hall that can be rented out for private events. This area is closed off during event and open to the public when not in use. There are also two dining areas off this main hall and a parking garage next door. I lived…read moreright up the street for a few years in my childhood and most of my life it was boarded up and in disrepair. About 20 years ago they decided to remodel it and spent millions of dollars to renovate it and bring it back to its glory. Every time we would drive by I wondered what it looked like inside and think that I needed to check it out someday. So a few days ago as we drove by my husband said "do you want to stop and check out Union Station?" YES!!!! There is a parking garage directly behind it with easy access into the station. The station is HUGE (well, not as big as the NYC!) and we walked throughout checking everything out. The station was pretty quiet on a Saturday afternoon and everything was closed (restaurants, coffee shop, police station etc), there was just a handful of people either waiting on a train or bus. The architecture was absolutely beautiful as most buildings built in this era were. I have no idea how well the ticketing and schedules work, but it is definitely a beautiful building worth checking out.

They even suggested that he modify my original booking, instead of booking an entirely separate limo ride, to save money. On the day of, JoAnne was right on time to pick the bridesmaids up for the first trip to the venue, and I got a text message with the license plate and a photo of the driver to tell me that she had arrived which was very helpful. They let us connect our own phones for music on the way to the destination, which was exactly what I needed to calm my nerves! And we were able to safely bring my dress, 8 dozen (!) cupcakes for the wedding, and all the flowers without any issue and plenty of room to spare on the Mini Coach.

There wasn't many…read morereviews on the camping section of Indian ranch when we were looking so I thought writing one would be beneficial to others. We have a 40ft fifth wheel for reference. I wasn't able to make reservations online but after calling I was able to get a site for two nights to take my daughters to a show. There wasn't much info online about the campground, what it offers, and the rules and what not so we went into this pretty blind. I did ask on phone if it was full hookups, as that is important to us and they said all sites are full hookups up which is great! There is no "check in" time which was nice to not have to aim for a certain time but I did call and check and let them know an estimated arrival time. Upon arrival, they had a staff member on a golf cart waiting outside office and brought us to our site. He was very nice, friendly, and answered any questions I had while my husband was parking the camper. The sites are tight!!! That being said we have a large camper with slides on both sides. Thankfully no campers were on either side of us so it didn't take him long to get into the spot. Our site specifically was mixed with rocks and grass, was fine just slim. We did have some shade on the afternoon from the trees to the back of camper. There's a gas station with a subway and honey dew walking distance away which was nice to get a coffee at in the morning and grab anything I forgot to pack. This campground is mostly seasonal, I think the man said they had maybe 13? On rotation for weekenders. The campers that are there are very friendly, mostly older without kids but very nice and didn't seem to mind ours. Some campers seemed a little run down, but to each their own, there was a good mix. Seemed pretty quiet at night time and wasn't anyone overly loud. The next day we went to a show, it was really hot, like 90 degrees. They had a "cooling station" I didn't check it out but they did mention it. The pavilion is also right on the lake and a few kids went in the water cause it was really how in the sun. We did general admission as we've never been before and it's like bleachers on the sides and first come first serve. There's also an area in the way back that has picnic tables. The staff were nice down there as well. The slushy machines weren't freezing cause it was too hot, but that's 100% reasonable. Other than that we just got water. We tried the restaurant one night, it was ok. The bar was busy as they were having a boat cruise that night. The restaurant section was like 50% full. The chicken tenders were really good, burgers looked good and my kids like them. The view was pretty even with indoor seating. We made reservations and were sat promptly. Our server however was ehhh. Took about 10+ minutes to greet us and take order. After that food came out in reasonable time and was good. We maybe saw server once about checking on us but maybe she herself was busy? Check came out around $90 for two adults and three kids with no alcohol. Reasonable and fine, most staff were friendly, ours just seemed annoyed by us. We didn't check out the pool at all as we only stayed for a few days. The kids took a dip in the lake after the show when everyone left. We were the only ones down there. A family member who has friends seasonal there told me after the fact that we were supposed to use the beach? Unsure on this is it's true or not but staff saw us down there and didn't say anything to us and left us alone. There were picnic tables down there with umbrellas which were nice and at this time of the day there was a little breeze. Will attach photos of our site and the gas station across from us a few sites away. Some may not like that but we did. Overall I wouldn't book here for a weekend away but we would def book if we were going to another show at the venue. Never went to the bathrooms but the bathroom in restaurant was clean and nice.

It did rain today with some lightning they stopped the show and told everyone they had to go to their cars, it was a bit confusing. After about 45 mins the show went on!! I would definitely watch more shows here in the future

When we arrived, our campsite did not have a picnic table or fire ring as described when I reserved the site. I sent an immediate email to the address they provided in the check in material (around 8:30pm). I did get a reply the next morning saying I should have requested one. I did. But I never should have had to since it is in the reservation description AND, we didn't get one. Campground overall feels a bit rundown. Paper towel roll was set on the counter instead of in the holder.The shower wouldn't turn all the way off and was missing doors, but it did have a curtain. There is no bench in the shower area (campground not docked for this), but a bench is helpful if you have kids or are elderly. Don't stay in Campsite T21. it only has the gravel driveway and no great place to put a tent. We experienced heavy cigarette smoke, which wasn't great, but isn't the campgrounds fault.

It has snacks and drinks to buy, most of those are local too. The fudge, cookies, coffee cakes and chocolate dipped Oreos are fantastic. There are no full meals or sandwiches though. Just goodies and cheese. They have all the visitor center brochures too. In the fall they will give you apples from their apple trees. When they are open you can use their composting toilets. The bathrooms are always clean and looked after. They have a special shorter commode for children and there are cute paintings on the wall. The bathrooms used to be open 24 hours unattended but I think the of epidemic and insurance liability probably put an end to that. When the main building is closed there are portapotties and a kiosk with vending machines. There is a fenced in pet exercise area and seating outside and some covered areas to sit. It's a solid highway stop. It would be great if it were open past 5, but it's a nice place to stop when it's open and at least has necessary things available when it's not.

We did not realize we were in the hear of apple country until we got here. There are many farms nearby that have apple stands. If you have the time, get the brochure and visit some. They had a basket of freshly pick macintosh apples to take and eat as a giveaway from a random farm. It was so fresh and delicious. We have lived in Colorado for nearly 50 years and we never get Macs out there. But I grew up in New England and Macs were my favorite. They just don't travel well so are not grown fro cross country shipping. Take one if you are here at the right season. Along with all the Johnny Appleseed lore, it make a great highway stop.
