What stood out most was our server, who was genuinely friendly, attentive, and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our visit. We had a few questions about the menu, and she took the time to explain everything without making us feel rushed. I always appreciate that kind of hospitality because it can really make or break a dining experience! I ordered the fried snapper, and I must say, the portion was huge! You definitely get a generous amount of fish. However, I was hoping for a little more seasoning and depth of flavor, as the fish itself was somewhat bland for my taste. The plantains also caught me by surprise, as I was expecting sweet plantains, but they were actually tostones. Had I known that beforehand, I would have asked for a substitution since I personally prefer the sweetness of ripe plantains. A little more clarity on the menu would have been helpful. Even though the food wasn't quite what I expected, I still enjoyed our visit. The wonderful service, pleasant atmosphere, and generous portions made it a worthwhile experience. I'd definitely come back, but next time I'll venture out and try something different on the menu. Five stars for the hospitality and an enjoyable time overall!

The service was great, the general manager was super nice and the food was excellent. The ambience was great too. I posted on Google, that my review was five stars and it still is... to an extent. There's been an issue for a while between the person behind their multiple social media accounts and I. First off, don't try to email a manager or a chef at this restaurant; they won't respond, not even for a compliment, which was disheartening to say the least because for my first time there, it was a wonderful experience and I would like to go back there again, but instead I felt a huge amount of disappointment. But the food was fantastic, some of the people that I've talked to were pretty nice, but emailing them for even a compliment and getting NO response and nothing but blocked comments on social media? That doesn't sit well with me.

Everything from the ambiance to the food and even the service was phenomenal. Great dining room area with both an outdoor and indoor bar. We sat with the bartender AB that immediately greeted us with waters and their menu. They are currently running a pick 2 for $15.99 menu that has some pretty great options. We had 2 meals & chose the wings, blackened shrimp po boy with the small gumbo's. Wings were super crispy, juicy, and tender. With a nice light Smokey taste. They buffalo and blue cheese sauce was actually pretty impressive. The po boy had a good amount of shrimp to bread ratio, with a nice sauce included. The gumbo had a deep rich flavor, but was not overly heavy with fatty meats. We were also informed of the happy hour oyster special, so we ended up getting a few of the rockerfella and raw. The rockerfella was amazing with melty cheese, a nice garlic flavor, & served with crispy bread slices. The raw came with crackers, lemon, wine vinegar, and a tasty cocktail sauce. Both were delicious. Marco, the manager came and spoke with us about our experience which really showed the attention to detail this restaurant offers. After sharing our story of visiting New Orleans a few years ago and bragging about the beignets, he brought us 2 out to finish our meal. I have to say, these were better than the ones I've had at cafe beignet in NOLA. They were HOT out the fryer to the point where the powdered sugar was slightly melted. Crisp outside dough but gooey soft in the center. A unreal experience to end a fantastic meal. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Luckily my sister lives 5 mins from this place but I would easily drive a hour or 2 when visiting from out of town just for this experience. Marco and AB really went above and beyond to make sure this was a special outing on a regular ole' Monday, and we could not have left happier.

The wings were just okay - it didn't have enough flavor. The gator bites were okay - it could be better if it was crispier and had more flavor. The deviled eggs were not bad - huge portions. I saved the best for last - the beignets. The best beignets I've had in Florida and it was close to Cafe du Monde's beignets in Louisiana. It was light, airy and puffy. I could have easily had 2-3 orders of it. The place overall is not bad, I enjoyed the ambiance but I would come back to try other items they have to offer.

I had the grouper, which was delicious but did not match the menu description- more dairy than I was expecting and a nice surprise with sautéed crawfish on top. Wife had the Branzino which was a little over salted, but otherwise very good. Finished off the evening with a key lime pie. Overall would definitely recommend.

They've added a fire pit or two and have some seating dockside where you can lounge with a cocktail. Dockage for those who want to arrive in your boat is provided as well. Service was attentive and responsive. Appetizers and meals came out in good timing. While the prices are up noticeably, so too are the presentations and flavor profiles. They've got some lovely specialty cocktails too. Our dishes were quite flavorful. I had the maple glazed Antarctic salmon with asparagus and garlic whipped potatoes. So tasty. The maple glaze had chili flakes in it which kept the sweetness in check. The salmon was boneless and perfectly cooked. Asparagus and potatoes rounded out the dish as it should. The smoked swordfish, I forget the glaze, had a perfect hint of smoke but still allowed the flavor to come through. Well balanced flavors. The Parmesan crusted chicken was crispy and the chicken was tender and just right. A great dish for those who may not enjoy fish. I saw filet au pauve, and almost ordered that but figured I'm at The Waterway, I should order fish. Regardless, with chicken, pork, and beef on the menu, your group will be able to find something you like. Plan to spend a little more than you used to at Waterway, but it is worth it. That and the slightly bland key lime pie, I reduced 1 star. Finally, the vibe and customers were great. Good happy energy and loads of laughter and easy going conversations all around. The deviled eggs were really good, although the bacon was a little overpowering. I also tried the crispy shrimp appetizer, but the portion was quite small.
