The only redeeming quality I got out of this visit was how amusing the welcoming horn to request seating from wait staff is. I had a pint of blue moon, mussels and their black and blue steak salad. Upon receiving the pint, there was what could only be described as mush. Orange mush sliding down the side of my glass. Further inspection gave witness to what appeared to be a bite mark in my slice of orange. I figure what the hell, it's alcohol I'll be fine. (Also had a long day at work. So I really wanted it without a fuss.) Then came the mussels in white wine sauce. I'm pretty sure you have to rinse off the mussels prior to cooking but this honestly tasted like it was cooked in a few scoops of seawater. Went in for their free pizza buffet. Was told they no longer have it the waitress has no idea if they would ever have it again. Looked at their menu they charge $8 for a kids meal never seen a place be so expensive for a kids meal. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I went in Saturday and Jeff the Mgr was rude and told me basically if we didn't like it we could go somewhere else. Came here with friends after a long day at Cedar point. Cool atmosphere, and good food and drinks. Unfortunately the bartenders were very rude. Is this an episode of Bar Rescue? The bartender's greeting was fine, and the simple drinks (beer, rum and coke) were good. But the mixed drinks were undrinkable (saw the one bartender look at the book for the recipe). So then the food...took forever and came out in pieces because one side of the kitchen was "drowning." My friend's dip came out after the other four of us were finished eating. The perch had bones in every bite (I get it...it's a tough fish) and we were promised a free beer "to make up for it" that took the bartender 10 minutes to pay attention and fulfill. I loved the Pony however today was the worst ever. I ordered a chicken philly and the waitress came with beef. She looked puzzled because I wanted chicken and should it be made over? DUH! Then it had No mozzarella cheese on it and she said I had to specify what kind cheese I wanted on it . It comes with both Mozz and Hot cheddar . I told her no cheddar she thought it meant all cheese. Then She couldn't be bothered bringing it to track room. I delivered it and took all the dishes back to bar. I give it three stars. And the three stars are only because we liked the waiter. He was very nice. The food & drinks were horrible. I ordered a Mango Margarita. It tasted like a frozen orange juice concoction nothing in it tasted like mango. We also ordered 2 orders of nachos (really big btw but not worth $15) with chicken. We specified both with chicken and the waiter wrote it down. 1 came in with beef (cold unseasoned) and the other came in correctly. Left a bad taste in our mouths. We had a party of 10. Most took the buffet and some of us ordered from the menu. It took us 30 minutes to get our meal from the kitchen. This was the first place we ate offsite while at Cedar Point and it was just ok. Our waitress was fabulous and the atmosphere was fun (very sports bar like) and they let you sample the beer before ordering it which was nice, but the food was disappointing. My hubby ordered the Walleye meal and felt sick the entire next day. I ordered the Chicken Philly which was good, but WAY too much cheese (and I LOVE cheese lol) and it just overpowered the whole sandwich. The first night was 100% great, 5 stars no problems at all great service (our server was awesome) and the food was amazing. The second night the food was still great but the service was sub par. This place has terrible service . Went and ordered and appetizer and my drink the waitress never asked my husband if he wanted anything . Then a gentleman came up to the bar next to us ordered a drink Gave another waitress his ID it was his government issued Id he is in the military and saw she was having a hard time finding his date of birth on it so Gave her his drivers license and she made a nasty comment about now you Gave me the right Id . Government issued ids are valid my husband is a army vet and were disgusting buy her comment . Military or not her comment was rude and not needed. She should never make a comment to any customer that it rude and disrespectful. I will never go there again we got our food boxed right away and left after we finished one drink. We ate at the Thirsty Pony while on a trip to Cedar Point. It is convenient and located right outside the Cedar Point gates. The atmosphere is friendly and fun. My son ate a cheese pizza which he described as "alright but not life changing". I got a fish sandwich which was tasty. My sandwich came with a bag of chips but I substituted the fries which were very good. The pasta salad was also very good but was in a tiny little cup and was only about 2 bites. I also had a margarita which was horrible. I didn't drink more than a few sips. I didn't complain but feel like if I had they would have cheerfully made me another. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. The price was very good at around $40 including a 20% tip. I would recommend it and would definitely go back and give it another try the next time I'm in Sandusky. read more

Waited 10 minutes at 8 on a Friday night for a table for two which wasn't bad, our waiter was very attentive and hospitable. We got ours apps right away and they were good (fried pickles and lobster bisque) but then waited 30 mins for our meal but, again, it was packed on a Friday night and our waiter apologized multiple times for the wait. My friend got a black and bleu burger which she really liked and I got French onion soup and chicken chunks with medium sauce. The soup was really good but the chicken chunks were soggy and the sauce was not good at all, however I don't blame Thirsty Pony for not liking something I ordered.
