Stopped in for a drink at 6pm on a Friday, orderd a vodka and soda and a draft beer. The cocktail was flat absolutely no carbonation at all in the soda water. I never complained because we were doing one drink and done. The bartender seemed very nice, and she was attentive. The problem was with my check, my bill was close to $22. I originally visited the Cranston location but Smithfield is a bit closer to home so we gave it a shot. Plenty of parking. They have a kids menu but by peanut/treenut allergic little guy could only have unfried options as the oil had not been changed over and there was cross contamination. He had the grilled cheese and they accommodated his french fry order by baking them (which means they're frozen). He enjoyed his grilled cheese. My oldest is picky and ordered the boneless beer battered chicken tenders. He ate two out of four but wasn't a fan. I tried a bite and found them to be too greasy for my taste. I opted for Aspadillas which are basically chicken quesadillas with bacon/ranch. They give you a huge portion (4 packed with chicken). I was only capable of finishing two. My husband ate one. I took the last to go. The hubby ordered wings of course. He requested all flats no wingies. I tried one and it was really good. They were buffalo but better than typical Frank's red hot sauce. They offer a ton of sauces. Overall It's good. A bit, heavy, greasy but still good. They changed the menu from when they originally opened. I miss the reuben eggrolls and barbecue flatbread pizza. Went last night and would return. I know it's still new and the staff is probably learning the ropes of the business so there is room for improvement. The place itself is adorable - got a fun, rustic feel to it and because it is new, the place is extremely clean and shiny! The staff are awfully young, looks like a lot of college kids looking to make some extra cash. The clientele during our visit ranged from college kids to the after work crowd. Nobody was rowdy so our experience was enjoyable. The place is huge so you didn't feel too crammed. We ordered wine and beer (Monday's are $2 lite beer specials). For food - zucchini coins (came out as sticks, not coins but still good), turkey burger with side of sweet potato fries (burger well cooked and tasty, fries could've been frozen but they were fine) and the Deerfield pizza (wasn't bad but felt like it was missing something to give it a little oomph). Overall, the place was good and definitely a nice spot for after work drinks. A few things we were meh about were that they had the doors open the entire time we were there - last night was a bit cold so we def felt the chilly breeze and also we could smell smoke from anyone who might've gone out for a cig. Also, once we finished eating and drinking alcoholic beverages, our bartenders completely neglected us the rest of the time we were there. So when our water glasses were empty - no one noticed and I had to flag someone down to finally get our check. Normally, i understand the bar staff can get overwhelmed and are very busy but there were 4 bartenders/waitresses all talking amongst themselves at the end of the bar. Today is Mother's Day. We went to Thirsty Beaver as a family of 4 (2 young kids, 2 adults) excited to be out of the house and expecting excellent service and treatment, as we usually get. My son (2) was running up and down an aisle between rows of tables where there are no patrons. None, just us at the end of the row. I'm hyper-vigilant, waiting for someone to be seated I this row and no one was. So I let him keep running! He was in no one's way and I told more than one staff member that I would stop him if he was in the way. No one said anything. Until the "manager"? Idk who he was. Told my husband "stop the running and keep the volume down please". Literal knife to the gut. The awareness of what my kids are doing and how it could be perceived is exhausting and all I was thinking about since we arrived. Keep the volume down? Please enlighten me on how to tell a 2 year old to be quieter. Great place with great service. Took my wife and daughter last night for a quick bite. Service was quick and food was great. French fries came out a little well done and the manager noticed my wife's reaction. He got us a fresh order of perfect fries and everyone was smiling again. Visited the Wrentham, MA location and it was just ok however this location is a vast improvement and quite a large establishment. This location sits in rural Smithfield, RI somewhat close to Bryant University and set in a woodsy area of Smithfield off the beaten path. It is in a large log cabin structure fitting the theme of the place. Walking in, the inside is almost like a camp dining hall, cool lights and TVs on every wall, large bar and some games, tables all over the place. Staff here are quick on their feet, friendly and really know what they are doing. Menu is really cool and inventive selections from appetizers to burgers to sandwiches, pizzas and even entrees like meatloaf and mac and cheese. Tried out the nachos, flatbread pizza burger pizza and the fish and chips along with beers. The drink selections here are extensive, from IPA beers to speciality drinks to all sorts of concoctions. Staff was attentive and brought food out at the right times. Prices here are decent, not too high and just the right levels for the amount of food you receive. Everything tasted great and we even ordered churros and ice cream for dessert and is was great. I would definitely return to this place and highly recommend it! read more

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Got the Sriracha maple wings and nachos, and to say that they were inedible would be an understatement. The chicken wings tasted like they were past their expiration date and then microwaved. The skin was pale yellow and soggy, and the sauce literally tasted like maple syrup with a dash of cinnamon. I couldn't make it through eating one without gagging - absolutely horrifying. And I'm not sure how they managed this, but the chips in the nachos were a combination of stale, soggy, and cardboard. The shredded cheese was still cold and the pico looked old as well. It's such a shame because I remember visiting here last year for a catered event and having excellent bar food. Don't expect French inspired cuisine but if you're going to okay trivia or for 25 cent wings or just to have a couple fun drinks or some pretty decent bar food, than it's a fun spot. We ordered the pork nachos which I highly recommend. Nice place with a chill atmosphere. I was even lucky enough to get to pet another patrons adorable boxer on my way out. My wife and I had a lunch date here. She spoke about the place for weeks and wanted to try it out. Once inside, we quickly realized it was the same place we visited in Cranston, Rhode Island some 6 1/2 years ago, I ordered their burger on a brioche bun and asked for onion rings. They didn't carry onion rings but the chef came out with a HUGE onion and asked if I'd like him to make some from scratch. OMG. This guy comes back with the biggest onion rings cooked to perfection, and the juiciest burger EVER. In all my years, this is by far the best tasting burger I've ever eaten anywhere. Once again, I would deeply appreciate the ability to give a 1/2 star but hey thirsty beaver just like my high school calculus grade you get to be round up. This place is a cowboy boot, flannel tucked into your wrangler jeans with a Jesus belt buckle yeehaa establishment. The fried pickles are the best of their kind. This was epically bad service. To start we walk in at about 4:45 and about 5 tables are taken. Looked relatively slow considering college football which we weren't upset about having two young kids. The goal is always in and out. So I'm pretty good with timelines. At about 5:30 after multiple servers walked by our table someone stopped and asked if we had been taken care of yet. At this point the restaurant is starting to somewhat get busy. He takes our drink orders and we should have known when it took 12 minutes to come back with them and take our food order we were in for a ride. By 6:10 still no food. Restaurant is now packed and servers are running around everywhere. Except ours. Never asked for refills. Never came over to apologize our food hadn't come out yet. Finally 10 minutes later half our tables food comes out. About another 10 minutes the rest of our tables food comes out. He now apologized that it took so long. The food was COLD! Having worked in a restaurant I can understand things being busy and food getting backed up. But when the food comes out cold that means it sat for quite a bit. Even the stuff that came out of the fryer which normally has to sit at the table before you eat it was cold. It's now 6:50 and the server has yet to come back and ask how our food is. So I take it upon myself having to swallow the frustration and bring it directly to the manager. He offers to get the food remade very quickly. About 20 minutes later the food comes out and was very good. Here I'm thinking since I've already brought it to the managers attention they should take care of us for this absolute debacle. Lol to my surprise they took 16$ off of a 96$ bill. Not only is that a slap in the face but you've ruined my Saturday off with my kids. Went to hang out with the WHOLE softball team last night: 8 teenage girls, 3 younger siblings, 14 parents. We were a large group to say the least. The management and wait staff could not have been more accommodating!! Absolutely amazing! Jess our waitress was on top of everything. We never waited to long for our drinks or food, always very attentive, super sweet! She was top notch!! 10 stars for her alone!! The food speaks for itself when you get out of your car and sniff the air and think "Wow, that smells good!" So delicious. Hand cut potatoes chips are TO DIE FOR! Came here for a drink, sadly. It was late or else I would've ordered food. I got a free dessert shot from checking in on Yelp, even though it had to be asked around as to what this "free thing" is. The dessert shot was amazing. I love creme liquor and vodka. I got the espresso martini, which appeared very watery but the flavor was wonderful. I'm surprised it wasn't decorated with chocolate crumbs or anything. The service was alright, it wasn't the best. I had to go up to the bar to check out, or else I would've waited forever. I've gone twice in less than 10 days since discovering Thirsty Beaver, so it's safe to say they're doing something right. The location in Smithfield RI really is modeled like a log cabin and the space inside is large, warm, and inviting for groups. There's TVs galore for any and all sports games too. They really keep the cabin theme going throughout the space--even when it comes to the log-shaped light fixtures that hang above the bar! The service on both visits has been excellent. We had two different young men wait on us, and on both occasions they were friendly, cheerful, more than willing to provide menu recommendations, and make sandwich modifications. Quick to provide water and soda refills too! I felt both servers were genuinely engaging and happy to be working there, which speaks volumes to the neighborly, down to earth vibe that the team has cultivated. It makes me happy to go back and continue supporting a place like this. For food, you've got a *lot* of options to choose from--anything from pizza to sandwiches, burgers, salads, and more. It's pub fare that's suited to everyone even if you're vegetarian or gluten-free. I got a fried oyster mushroom sandwich special on my first visit which was great. The quinoa veggie burger I got on visit two was on the softer side--which really isn't my favorite since I prefer a crispier patty, but the flavor--especially with the paprika mayo, was good. On visit two, our main dishes took a while longer than I expected to come out, but since we got an appetizer, we were better equipped to handle the hanger. Of note, the waffle fries are bomb every time and you should get them. The tot'chos are also a group's delight because they come out sizzling hot and crispy in a giant cast iron skillet. And I don't think it's more than $10/11? The price point here for the genre of food you're getting is great. They have different specials on the chalkboard at the bar depending on the day of the week too which you should check out for deals! Finally, last but not least, CHECK IN ON YELP HERE! Had a great experience here. Was the first stop on the Lord of the Wings tour for us. I was a bit skeptical to bring my eight-year-old as it seemed like it was going to be an adult bar setting. But the environment was more than appropriate... And they even had a good kids menu. We went on a Thursday, which happens to be their tater tot special night. We tried the Canadian tots, which where a riff on poutine...they were super yummy. For the wings, we tried the angry peanut and the butter garlic jalapeño wings; seasoning was good, and they were cooked perfectly. My son had their version of chicken and waffles; he really loved the chicken, but wasn't too keen on the waffles, but I really think that's because it was a more sophisticated taste as my husband and I both like them. Also noticed that they have a lot of daily events. Tonight they were doing karaoke. And, they have live music a few times a month. Local sports are always on. There were food and drink specials for each day. And there seems to be a lot of regulars; always a good sign. Not quite a five-star joint, but or 4+ for sure. Will definitely be back! read more

This was my first time here at the local Thirsty Beaver... I know what you're thinking, i was thinking the same thing! Hahaha, it's not what you may or may not think it is! It was a lot larger than I'd thought it would be. There was a lot of light and a ton of sitting areas. Chose the best table top where I could see the whole room - the bar lights were pretty funny (lights that look like logs). Everything had a very "woody" look; yes, even the bathrooms! There was something really nice about their menus - they were fun and beaver themed... very punny. Cute beaver illustrations and a good selection of drinks, apps, and everything in between. The staff I'll give a soild 4 stars, could've stood to be a little more inviting and human - but, I was hungry so I could've cared less that ngiht! After much deliberation, Justin Beaver Bites were the app choice of the night (of course with a side of ranch... and marinara) Their ranch is really good... and that matters! Yum! I really enjoyed my lunch here. The menu was way more extensive than I imagined it would be. My only complaint is that my friend's baby has an egg allergy and she asked the waitress if the pasta had egg in it. She went to the back and said yes, the pasta has egg. When my friend asked if it was store bought or house made (since store bought pasta does not have egg) she just starred and said I don't know. It would have been nice of her to check on that. But, besides that we had a great lunch. You have to get the beer cheese dip with the salt and pepper house made chips. So freaking good. My group was practically licking the bowl by the end of it. I got a burger which was quite tasty, although pretty messy. Everyone else at the table was happy with their food as well. We had heard the The Thirsty Beaver from friends who frequent the one in Cranston. The hubby happened to find out there's one close by just by stalking Yelp one day. We ended up coming here because the hubby wanted bar found and I wanted to try a new place. The restaurant is very cute. The exterior looks like a log cabin and the inside is spacious. We decided to get the buffalo ranch tater tots. I'm not a fan of ranch, but this was done nicely. The tots were very good, although maybe a little pricey ($8)? I had the nachos and the hubby had the Buffalo wings (what a surprise). He gives them a 3.5/5. The nachos were also good. I think we were thrown off by not really knowing what to expect and so our experience was thrown off also. We would definitely give it a second chance and try something new. read more

The food was great, but the process to obtain the food was disappointing. I posted this on the restaurant's wall as well, but it was deleted. A shame. I took a colleague who had never been before while extolling how great it was. The service received was poor at best. We arrived, ordered lunch and waited. And waited. You get to that point where you notice it took too long, so we asked the bartender. She told us it would be right out. We then waited more. Then, we were told the receipt printer was not plugged in? and it would be RIGHT OUT. OK, mistakes happen. A couple walked in during that same time. We then waited some more. The couple who arrived when we were told the food would be right out got their food before us. We then waited some more and finally got the food as the couple was finishing up. We had to box up the food as we had to be back for 1pm (which shouldn't have been an issue as we arrived at 11:45am) and then paid about $15 each for food we had to then heat up in a microwave. Not a good experience, and it's even worse now I realized my comment on the wall was deleted.I hope the management re-examines their lunch staff, you already turned off two customers because of it. read more
