bangs were supposed to be right at top of eyebrows. Hair is not even and still long peices hanging, cowlick all messed up.

I have never had a man cut my hair. I should have went with my gut and requested someone else, but I did not want to be rude, so I thought I would give this young man a chance. Worst mistake!! I was very specific with instructions for my bangs. Explained I have a cowlick and if you cut to much on that side and not the other side the side with the cowlick with spring up. I also was specfic to cut only to the top of where my eyebrows end. As stops while cutting my backs and says sorry but I ended up cutting more than you wanted, at least it will grow. I looked in the mirror and oh my G!!! Not only were my bangs like over an inch above my eyebrows, but they were also not even and there was a bunch of long hair hanging on the left side. I mentioned it to him, so he started cutting the long hair but then cut the rest even shorter. When it was all said and done, there was still long hair hanging and my cowlick was bounced up and separated. By the time I got up to the front counter I was crying and shaking. I asked to speak to the manager. I told her I had never had such a f'd up haircut in my entire life, and that I am so embarrassed to even go out in the public. The only thing she did for me was not charge me for the haircut and offered to fix it. I told her I just wanted to leave. Yes fix the long hair but you can't fix the shortness. I should have received a substantial gift card for my turmoil. I could barely drive home. I have had to wear a hat and have no purchased fake bangs. It will take at least two weeks for it to grow out.

"Manager's" botched eyebrow waxing of my daughter.

This place is terrible. Highly unprofessional. The "manager" appeared to be on drugs... very jittery and confused in speech. Was rambling on about personal life details. Her boyfriend came in and she glared at him and said something snarky. She told my daughter to "wash off the wax" when we got home and that it would be "fine". My daughter didn't want to cause problems and wore her bags in front of the terrible mistake... I found out a week and a half after the appointment... she tried in vein to wash off the wax for about a week and felt to embarrassed to say anything. Finally she got fed up and ripped it off... I called and this chipper girl answered the phone and said she would see what she could do... got a "chipper" phone cal back saying they couldn't do anything... wouldn't be surprised if this review gets erased. Please save your money. If I could, I would give this place ZERO stars.

    What I got.

Normally this is my go-to spot. I went in recently and unfortunately was paired with a stylist named Ashlyn. I originally went in with mid-back length hair and requested a shorter haircut where I could still do a small ponytail and with long layers. What I left with was not that. When she started cutting my hair she cut it exactly at the length I wanted. She then turned me away from my friend and the mirror where neither of us could see what she was doing. I left with my hair barely an inch below my ears, no layers, uneven, and I was not at all able to put my hair in a ponytail. She was very entertained in the conversation she held about her own friend instead of paying attention to the reference photo I had given her. I literally got in my car and cried. There are some great stylists there but after this experience I will be looking elsewhere.

This salon is always friendly and welcoming. If they dont have time when you walk in, they always suggest another time to get you in. They are especially great with kids. The haircuts are fairly priced and we havent had a bad haircut yet. KEIARA B. did such a great haircut on my son this last visit, i wanted to make a special shoutout to her. The only real reason I am giving a 4 star instead of 5 is because the waiting area is very small ( not much the staff can do about that however ) with only a few chairs and to me its unprofessional to see staff just sitting on their cellphones in the public eye. Not to say there are not times for minimal work, just dont leave your customers or be seen just sitting doing nothing. Will be back to this establishment again.

My review, however, is for an atrocious experience I had with the owner, Brandi Wilson. My sister's first time at Envy didn't go as well as mine. Someone there attempted a balayage that... Well, let's just say she's had to spend hundreds of dollars correcting at other salons. Unsure of how the refund process works, she took me with her to speak with the manager about it. Ms. Wilson was with a client when we walked in. Awkwardly, my sister had to explain her situation while Ms. Wilson washed another lady's hair. She barely looked at us and acted like we were an annoying distraction from her work. Nevertheless, my sister kindly explained that the stylist didn't use the freehand painting technique that one uses for a proper balayage. Instead, she used foils from root to tip, all over, which resulted in chunky highlights that didn't naturally blend in. It was not a balayage in any way, shape, or form. (Picture attached.) Ms. Wilson saw that picture and didn't see anything wrong with it. She responded, first, with a lecture on what balayage is in an effort to discredit us - with misinformation, no less. She said balayage "isn't necessarily a technique" - no, it is a technique. That's literally what it is, what makes it special in the first place - the unique application. The more she talked about it, the more ignorant and patronizing she came across. She told us we have to talk to the stylist and that she could give us the stylist's number. All well and good. But then she left us standing there and continued picking apart my sister's complaint. She kept saying unhelpful, inflammatory things like, "Well if you'd talked to [the stylist] first maybe she would've fixed your hair for free." I don't know if she was in a bad mood or what, but she wanted to argue. Understandably I was irritated by this, but I stayed calm. I said we didn't want the original stylist to fix my sister's hair. Ms. Wilson acted like she had been personally attacked. She raised her voice and became visibly angry, demanding, "What do you want me to do?" I tried to say we just wanted the stylist's number but she kept talking over me. It made us very uncomfortable, so I had to tell her to chill. She seriously needed to calm down; there was no need for her to get defensive and escalate the situation. Instead, she lost it. She started yelling. She told us to leave before she called the police. She shouted, and I quote, "Exit my fricken business!" I was beyond done and going to leave, but we still needed the stylist's number for a refund. So I asked her, calmly, "Could you please give us [the stylist's] contact information?" I thought it was a reasonable request. Still enraged, she snapped, "You know what? Find it online." (We have this exchange on video, by the way.) Admittedly I did call her a name right before I left, but it was my only act of aggression in the whole mess and, frankly, she deserved it after the way she treated us. I will be doing what Ms. Wilson said and staying out of her "fricken" business for good. I'm telling everyone I know to avoid Envy as well. There are better salons in the area that are professional, friendly, and highly skilled - Tease and Ross Michaels comes to mind. Ms. Wilson needs to work on basic customer service skills because this does not bode well for any business. As the owner you represent your entire salon, your staff - even if they are independent contractors. You need to treat customers with care and respect. Don't be condescending. Don't make excuses. A little empathy goes a long way. Doing a little research on balayage wouldn't hurt, either.

It was like she didn't hear me it all and I had to ask her to do it over. She did but she wasn't happy about it. Then Michael cut my hair and I would swear he was in his man-period. However, the cuts and styling are always the same... no matter the photo I bring - or the specific requests I make... I always leave with the same look. If it wasn't so frustrating, it would be comical. And while my cut and style are never truly awful (hence the reason I find myself coming back), they are also never truly amazing. Unfortunately, this visit I was also subjected to my stylist sharing very intimate details of her life with me for the entirety of the service, which I do not always mind, but it was a a lot (when I had my own stuff going on). I know I should have utilized better boundaries in regards to the oversharing and my dissatisfaction with the cut, but I was just too tired to negotiate an awkward conversation (especially when I just wanted an hour of ease and pampering). Bottom line: Gene Juarez will probably offer you a decent, cookie cutter style by an engaging stylist in a clean, bright environment. I have certainly had worse experiences, but...
