Visited to celebrate my wife's birthday. Was our first time here after visiting Jag's, Tony's and our favorite The Precinct. Steaks and food were good, service had a few misses. No drink list or explanation/recommendations for the menu, shrimp cocktail was good but nothing special seemed small vs other steak houses and price. Biggest issue was the dessert, wife picked their flaming apple and I had the chocolate cake. Both were good but the flaming apple dessert has tree nuts mixed in... not noted on the menu or by our waiter. Luckily she only took a small taste and noticed tingling lips but didn't take a bite of any nuts. We swapped desserts and continued on as she hadn't started any big reaction. Told the waiter it would have been nice to know there were nuts and he said "oh yea I didn't mention that and it's not on the menu... sorry about that"... we may try here again in the spring or summer outside, but not a favorite at this point. read more

I've been really looking forward to trying Third and Main after hearing about it on a Facebook foodie group and from some coworkers. I brought my fiancé here for a belated birthday dinner on a Saturday night and it was very busy, but we expected that! The overall service was OK; we waited quite a while for a glass of wine and a cocktail, but our server was very kind and I could tell she was running around quite a bit. I'm not sure if they are just short staffed or overwhelmed by the recent surge in guests. The food was hit or miss on some things, and a bit expensive for the portions. We got bread service which was just OK, not worth the $8 we paid. We did really enjoy the appetizer gnocchi and would definitely recommend that- it was smoky, robust and very rich. Definitely worth trying if you like gnocchi. I ordered an Australian wagyu filet that was well seasoned and medium rare as ordered. I did not care for the peppercorn steak topping I ordered, (it was recommended to me but just not for me, way too sweet) but my steak was good without it. The potatoes were good but I got green beans (up charge for those which was NOT worth it) and didn't care for them. They were mushy and I didn't like the flavor. My fiancé got a standard filet and it was good, but certainly not as good as the wagyu. It was not consistently cooked to medium rare, but most of the steak was. We noticed that last 1/4 of the steak was a little more like medium or medium well. He got the ham and cheese grits as a side which were fantastic. We ordered creme brûlée and triple chocolate cake for dessert which were both very good. Overall, we love Ruby's and while this was fun to try something new, we just can't justify the cost to come back. If we are spending more than $200 for dinner, we will just head to a Ruby's instead. We came here to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The food was killer, and the ambiance was awesome. Our server Haley was super knowledgeable about the menu and super attentive. Something you don't see a lot of anymore. The entire staff was super friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back. The only negative thing in the whole experience, is they could use sharper steak knives. It is a steakhouse after all. Given that, I would go back tomorrow in a heartbeat. Make the drive for a special treat. They age their beef on-site and have a spectacular bourbon selection. My coworker and I came in late one night to try/test this place for a bigger event next time we were in town. We arrived shortly after the kitchen closed, but they were happy to accommodate us. Our meal and service were spectacular. Towards the end of our visit, we asked about group events. The person taking care of us lit up and asked us to follow him. He showed us a great upstairs area with its own bar and back deck. We've since hosted a few events here and everyone loves it. This was our 2nd time there and I say the food is good but when you compare it with a Jeff Ruby's or Morton's, I would take either one over this place. I had the strip steak and there was a large portion of fat and I substituted green beans for asparagus and there was a $3 up charge. The atmosphere is average along with the service. They added the tip to our bill, I guess since we had a Groupon and honestly I don't know how they came up with our total but the tip is 20%. This was an awesome fancy farm to table restaurant that we went for our birthdays a few weeks ago. It's a very high end joint with great steaks, seafood, and such. The building is so awesome and unique as it's a two story house with cool stuff such as beautiful musical instruments strewn about. We had heard about their awesome steaks so my wife and I went all in and split the two pound ribeye brought in from Carrera Farms. I tell you what this was perhaps the finest cut of meat that I've ever had the privilege of eating. Cooked to perfection (medium rare in our case), and rubbed with some delicious flavours every bite was better than the last. It came with a side of green beans which my wife enjoyed (beans aren't my thing) and mashed potatoes which were very well prepared and tasted great. We also got an appetizer of a half pound of King Snow Crab Legs (you know you're going high end when this is your appetizer.) Anyway these were also prepared perfectly and there was lot's meat in there and was delicious dipped in their butter and other sauce (kinda mustard like. I preferred the butter.) For dessert we tried the Creme Brulee. If you've never had it's a custard topped with hardened (burnt) caramelized sugar. It was my first time trying and it and considering how awesome it tasted it won't be my last. The service was top notch and this was the perfect birthday dinner for us. We were in town for July 4 fireworks, and saw this was highly reviewed on Yelp. Very good meal. I had the pasta from heaven, which is lobster, crab, and shrimp over house made linguine with a white wine sauce. Delicious, and very rich. My wife had the potato encrusted sea bass. I tried a bite, it was VERY good! My daughter tried the pasta bolognese, and she said it was good, although she didn't enjoy the goat cheese on it. Overall, a very good experience. Service can be a bit slow at times, and they forgave a nice outdoor patio if you wish to dine al fresco. read more

I snagged the Groupon deal and booked reservations when we were going to be in the neighborhood. Definitely a great choice. The restaurant is located in the heart of the historic district and super cute and charming. The wait staff were delightful and very welcoming. Our Groupon included a three course meal each. I grabbed the shrimp and grits appetizer and the hubby grabbed a bowl of tomato soup with grilled cheese bites. Both absolutely wowed us. The grits are the best I've ever eaten, so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The plate was stunningly presented, actually, all of our food arrived plated very beautifully. Garnishes were super cute. The tomato soup was exquisite. I love grilled cheese with tomato soup, but never thought of using grilled cheese chunks as a crouton. Absolutely loved it!! I might have stolen a couple bites or three. For our entree, I did the wagyu filet and it was served with garlic and orange glazed asparagus and fingerling potatoes. My steak was the best! Perfectly cooked with a nice char on the outside. The asparagus was delicious, I wish the flavor had been a little more pronounced but no complaints. The fingerling potatoes were the only thing I didn't particularly care for, the Parmesan sauce on top was fantastic, I dipped my meat in it, it was so good!!! The potatoes however were a little hard, the outside was a bit crunchy like it had been cooked s little too fast but the inside wasn't done. The meal was so large we didn't really need the second side so I just took as much sauce as possible and left the potatoes. My husbands entree was the Delmonico rib eye, his sides were fingerling potatoes and sautéed spinach. Same issue with the potatoes. The sautéed spinach was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The steak was also cooked well. I'd have given 5 stars if it weren't for those potatoes. After tasting my wagyu steak, the rib eye just didn't compare. The wagyu was phenomenal!! For dessert I had the salted caramel custard and the hubby chose the strawberry shortcake. The custard was okay, just a bit thick for my liking. It had an okay flavor as well. The strawberry cake was superb. They said they made it in house, the icing wasn't too sweet and the cake had a super fresh taste. The atmosphere outside was so nice, we ate around 4:30 and it was hot but the patio is nicely shaded and breezy. We were lucky enough to dine during a singing performance. Best steak I have eaten outside of Texas. Sirloin topped with blue cheese butter, asparagus and sauteed onion with sliced potatoes. Even the salad was good! My counterpart ordered Pasta Toscana with house made tomato sauce, pancetta and Tiger Shrimp. Not your average spaghetti! I almost had order envy but the steak was so.damn.good. Bourbon cocktail was on point. Service was impeccable. The bar area hosts local musicians and is a spot where people pop in for drinks. Wow we were impressed with the meat. When I am with my daughter we look for great steak. We have been to great steak places in St. Louis, Indianapolis, and Columbia oh. But we finally found great steak in Auroa Indiana. Let me repeat that. A small town of around Nd 4,000 in Indiana in the Ohio river near Cincinnati. Ina town called Aurora. I would give the steak a 4.5-5 rating. The setting was comfortable but the staff didn't seem to know the menu. So the staff would get 3.5 stitches stars. The portions were good we got the signature app of crab, shrimp and oysters that was awesome, my daughter got the signature filet with a topping of 2 shrimps and a lot of crab that was totally awesome. I got the ribeyes with a blue cheese butter. The steak was awesome but was not impressed with blue cheese butter. The dinner was served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The potatoes were ok, the asparagus was really good ( about 3 stalks). The service was average about what you would expect from a really good server at Applebee's There is a hidden entrance to an upstairs area that was probably a speakeasy. Had dinner here last night, and everything was fantastic. For appetizer, my GF and I enjoyed the sausage and goat cheese bruschetta and the crab cake. Was surprised at how good and full of crab meat the crab cake was. For dinner we shared the Taste of the World steak flight with mashed potatoes and collard greens as a side. The steaks were delicious and you could really tell the difference between all of them. Ridiculous flavors. And there was enough that we ended up going home with 3-4 oz of each one. Im excited thinking about them. And for dessert we had the peanut butter tart and the key lime pie. GF said the key lime pie was the best she's ever had, and my tart was pretty ridiculously good. One last thing, our server Megan was the sweetest, most knowledgeable, most attentive server I think I've ever had. The way she described the flavors of dishes and gave her opinion on certain things was greatly appreciated. She really made the whole experience super memorable. Not just her, but the hostess was extremely nice, and all of the other staff were just extremely sweet. Bottom line: Great food and absolutely amazing staff. The only worthwhile thing to mention about Third and Main is the beer selection. Seriously. The meal was sub par on every level. The service abysmal. I've been here twice now because, hey, nobody can screw up so badly more than once, right? Wrong. If you want a good meal, take the extra time and drive to civilization. Cincinnati is only 40 miles away, but any quality restaurant is light years ahead ahead of this place. I noted in my reservation this was our anniversary, they proceeded to sit us at the bar tables where it had a lot of ppl who were having a good time, but we wanted a quiet reserved table. We did remind them we wanted something quiet, so they sat us by the bathrooms under stairs that someone was running up and down continuously through the evening with a terrible smell of old mildew the whole evening. The steak was pretty good, (we have had better). I ordered the Heavenly Pasta, that was anything but heavenly. It was very dry and old pasta that was sitting for quite a while. The noodles were clumped together. This dish was also served with crab meat (my dish had none), shrimp, ( was pretty good) and lobster tail, ( extremely rubbery and hard to chew). I figured since I was spending $33 for a entree it would at the least be fresh!! I could not even eat this meal it was so awful! Also, a tip was added to my check of $30, since I purchased a Groupon. Even though my actual food was around $38 + my $64 Groupon. I ended up spending what I would have spent if I would have went without a Groupon. Our daughter, son-in-law, grandson and I took my wife here for her birthday. Everything was perfect. The greeting, the table, the service and the food couldn't have been better. The USDA Prime filet mignon was cooked to perfection as was my wife's sirloin and son-in-law's NY Strip. The menu is gauged to all tastes, appetites and prices, providing great choices for everyone. They even offered a $10 coupon when I visited their website. I have already recommended Third and Main to several people and will return again soon to try something else on the menu. We finally got to try Third and Main and they didn't disappoint! We made reservations for 7pm on a Friday. We showed up at 6:56pm and were promptly seated upstairs. The restaurant was mostly full but the service did not lack. We noticed the amount of staff on hand and they did not miss a beat. We had a dedicated server, teenagers filling water continuously, and support staff that ensured our empty plates and glasses were removed quickly. The menu offers many options. They also have a menu of the Wagyu cut offerings. The atmosphere is relaxed and upbeat. The background music doesn't impede on conversations. Drinks: They offer beer, wine and liquor. They have extensive scotch and bourbon offerings along with their own custom cocktails. They carry fresh mint for Mojitos! FOOD: 1. We selected the calamari and crab cake as appetizers. Both were done well. The amount of calamari is suitable for 2 people; anymore you should order 2. The crab cake was mostly crab so that was nice to not have a lot of filler. It is only 4 oz, so enough for 1 person. 2. Entrees: #1: A Ceasar salad with Salmon. Shaved parmesan. Very good. The Salmon was a little dry and could have used basting. #2: Pasta Bolognese. Very tasty. The entire dish was eaten so the portions size was nice. #3: 10 oz Prime Filet Mignon with white truffle mashed potatoes and asparagus with a side of the sauteed cremini mushrooms. Very delicious. #4: Australian Wagyu Tomahawk 45 oz medium rare, white truffle mashed potatoes and asparagus with a side of the sauteed cremini mushrooms and the truffle butter. Holy Shite! What a fantastic cut of meat! Very tender and tasty! My son, who is not a fan of ribeye, was impressed. My dog is loving the bone! 3. Desserts: Ordered the Triple Chocolate Cake (shared by 2) and the Creme Brulee. The Creme Brulee was caramlized table side by server. Again, very tasty. Overall a great experience. Drove a hour from Mason, OH for my husbands birthday because I heard good things. Things went downhill from the get go. Got sat upstairs and the tables against the outside wall are ALL on a slope and tilt because of the floor. Whatever, we moved tables. Server was good but mediocre (probably #1 servers at an Applebee's). wine list was VERY SMALL! Maybe 5 selections of red wine. Ordered the burchetta, bread was so tough, under toasted and so stale that I couldn't pull it apart with me teeth. Oysters had to have been Atleast 2 days old. My steak was undercooked and my husbands was unevenly cooked. For $300 I expected exceptional, this just wasn't it. Giving two stars because the building itself had a lot of character and charm otherwise, I'd give 0 based on food. But, won't be going back. read more

I love the charm of old buildings and this one had a very vintage feel to it. We came celebrating a friend's birthday and were highly anticipating this meal after wanting to come for quite awhile. The table ordered 3 different appetizers, Shrimp Cocktail, Gnocchi and Calamari, with calamari being the star of the 3. The shrimp cocktail came with 2 large tiger shrimp that were fine but I've had better. Cocktail sauce was house made and it could have used more spice to it. Just having 2 shrimp in the appetizer made it difficult for the table to share. The gnocchi had a sweet sauce to it that was enjoyable, but the calamari was hand breaded to perfection with 2 dipping sauces that were delicious. For my main entree, I had to try the Pasta from Heaven. The lobster in this dish was to die for and there were delicious lump crab meat scattered throughout. I thought the portion of seafood within this dish and the sauce with the Angel hair pasta was very good. My only issue with the dish was the shrimp still having tail shells that needed to be removed- it was a bit messy having to dig in the pasta to remove the shrimp shell. I tried a couple bites of my husband's American Wagyu Ribeye and it was excellently char-grilled and seasoned. If we return, we will plan to split the American Wagyu Flight as we saw several of these come out of the kitchen and they looked delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and really went above and beyond to make sure we were having an enjoyable meal. 4 stars because I feel like if I pay that much for dinner, I should leave totally satisfied with no complaints about my meal. read more
