On the positive side, the cleaning itself is decent, and the ladies who come to the house are always very nice and respectful. However, their punctuality and communication are major issues. They are consistently late - often upwards of 30 minutes. What makes it incredibly frustrating is the complete lack of proactive communication. They will wait until the exact time they are scheduled to arrive to tell me they are running behind, or they will say they are showing up "soon" and then take over half an hour to actually get here with absolute radio silence in between. This has wasted my time on several occasions and forced me to push back my own plans while waiting around for them to show up. If you have a completely wide-open schedule and don't mind waiting around, their cleaning is fine. But if you value your time and expect basic professional communication regarding ETAs, I highly recommend looking elsewhere.

I was honestly pretty disappointed with the cleaning that Paixao did on my house. First of all they arrived late, which is totally fine if they would tell you that was happening which they didn't. I ended up reaching out to confirm they were coming and was told they were arriving soon. I am fine with not being right on time, but some notice would be nice especially since it was the first cleaning. Second of all they didn't give a price in advance which is fine, they hadn't seen the place and I had not asked. But their price was $100+ what I was quoted and paid before. I am fine with paying more if the job was well done but it simply was not and I feel like for the quality of work, it was way too much. They missed a bunch of spots and completely skipped dusting several areas. The "mop" they used did not clean well or properly and the cleaning solution left a pretty terrible smell. I had to communicate with the owner over text about the issues when they asked if things were okay and I assumed this would get relayed to the cleaning staff. It was not and I had to super awkwardly explain all the issues to them. They also loaded the dishwasher in the worst, most non sensical way I have ever seen and it seemed like they put away some of the stuff with something on their hands as utensils had a shiny residue of sorts that i had to wipe off. Not everything was bad but lots of things were not great and they didn't do basic stuff until I asked them to like vacuuming the upstairs. The funniest thing is my place was not even all that dirty but some of the spots were there were issues like a streak on the floor still remain. The other issue was it was very hard to communicate with them. I completely understand language barriers but in that case, I would expect the communication to go through the company which it did not. So I was left to try to explain things and ask/answer questions and I'm pretty sure 90% of what was said on both sides was ignored because of this. So overall: difficult to communicate, multiple issues with the cleaning itself, high price. I am honestly pretty disappointed and I don't think my expectations were unrealistic. Sad to say I can't recommend them and won't use them again.

The most impressive thing of all is that they managed to clean our kitchen hood. We rent and when we moved in six years ago it was already dripping grease, it was so gunked up (like, it was literally coming out of the light and fan switches). We hired cleaners when we first moved in but they looked at the hood and said it couldn't be done, so ever since we never bothered to clean it or look into getting it cleaned. I didn't mention the hood to the Magic Hands cleaners and assumed they would also skip it like the previous cleaners, so my jaw hit the floor when they showed it to me after they had finished the house. I value 3 hours of my time at more than $20. If he had said from the start "Hey they are running late", I could have gone and done something else. But they were always "Just right around the corner" so I didn't want to leave and miss them. Also, he said the cleaners "Didn't find a parking lot". It has taken a while to get him to agree that he needed help with cleaning around the house. He says the dirt doesn't bother him, but I said I can't keep coming over unless it is clean. Having daughter's company wins! After reaching out to several services, Ana's was the one who got back to me. I had texted what I needed and when, and Debora replied to me their availability and what to expect. Basically, the cleaning crew would come and assess the job and provide an estimate. If the rate was acceptable they would begin cleaning immediately. Maria and Rosa worked for four hours, a total of 8 man hours. I am so grateful at how much they got done, it would have taken me more than two days to do what they did. Maria was the lead of this team. She speaks some Spanish but her first language is Brazilian Portuguese. We were able to communicate pretty well using Google Translate. I am working toward decluttering the rest of the house (a daunting task as dad is a bit of a hoarder) and will be reaching out to Ana's Cleaning Service again in the future. And maybe I can learn a little bit of their language, too!
