Very convenient downtown location and we were wanting something for lunch…read more Grabbed the Dave's #1 order for two chicken tenders with fries, lite mild and added a side of Mac & cheese. Probably the fav part of the meal was the fries and the dipping sauce. Would have preferred if it was a bit of a crispier chicken, the lite mild was too mild for me, and the chicken was a bit dry and chewy. The tenders were each really small they gave had given us three pieces instead of two. The interior is spacious with a few seats available for 2-4 people. The ordering was easy and service was efficient.

While I was super disappointed at first and almost walked out, I figured since I was already there, I'd finally give their chicken a shot. I ordered the #1 combo: two tenders, fries, sliced bread, Dave's sauce, pickles, and a drink. At roughly $25 to $27, the price felt pretty steep for a takeout tender combo. I know Drake is backed as an investor here, so maybe that plays into the pricing, but it definitely felt expensive. That said, the portions are solid. The tenders were large, super juicy, and well cooked. The Medium heat level was spot on for what I wanted and it gave a nice light kick without being overly spicy. Honestly, the fries were my absolute favorite part of the meal! They were crispy, super tasty, and perfectly seasoned. The Dave's sauce was good, though a pretty familiar flavor profile if you've had similar chicken joints. The pickles added a nice crunch. My only critique on the side is the bread... getting plain white bread slices feels like a missed opportunity. If they toasted it into Texas toast, it would take the meal to another level. The fountain drink size included in the combo felt surprisingly small, especially for a takeout order. The Leslieville location itself is fantastic. The exterior design really catches your eye from the street, and the inside is spacious with two levels. I especially loved the neighborhood-specific touches, like the custom "Leslieville" graffiti art on the wall... it gives the space a great local personality. Service was friendly. Is it a bit too pricey to become a regular spot? Yeah, probably. But the quality and juiciness of the chicken are definitely there. I'll be back down the road but only to finally get my hands on those cheese sticks (and maybe a milkshake next time!).

I had meal #2 ( 2sliders and a side of coleslaw) Drink is not included. I got a small pop with it. Came out about 30$ The spice seasoning they use is good. Good texture and the chicken was cooked well. Coleslaw is mid. The dip they give you paired well with the chicken. That much money though for 2 sliders, not even full sized chicken sandwiches, and then not include the drink in the "combo", criminal. Chicken is expensive, I know it. Due to the price I wouldn't return as I didnt see it much better then pg clucks or hg hot chicken.

The venue is located in the food court in the concourse level of the building that I work in so I waited until later in the afternoon, then went down and found the lineup not too long. I ordered a slider; there are 7 spice levels to choose from (from No Spice to Reaper) and I chose Mild. Pickles and onion, etc. are included and I found the slider to be delicious. One of my co-workers agreed with my appraisal - we both also concurred that the meat portion was quite large/generous - and mild was the right choice for my spice level. This opportunity was a very generous gesture from Dave's and I definitely recommend a visit to check them out if you haven't been.

Came for their first in toronto burger omakase and it was a fun and delicious experience…read more First off, for those who don't know. Chef Joe Friday is a Michelin experienced chef who had stops at French Laundry and Nobu. Also was at Canoe in Toronto. Asian influenced burger omakase was a selection of 5 sliders with a dessert and a "fries" like fish. First was the shrimp po boy that had a nice crunch and was complemented well by ikura eggs. Next was his Nashville hot chicken that had an Asian twist with a koji brine. Bbq beef short rib was delicious and juicy. Albert's bison featured a delightful bacon jam. Friday smash is the traditional burger just done extremely well. Furikake tots were fun with the Furikake and kewpie mayo giving the tots a distinct Asian flair Biscoff banana pudding was a solid finisher. We also had a nice wine pairing with a glass of white for the first dishes and then a shiraz that was very nice. Overall a great experience and it was a delight chatting with chef. The omakase changes every two months.

First, the service was top notch! The owner was incredibly engaged and welcoming. We spoke of family, travels, and all things food. They have both unique and old school flavors of soda and snacks which were fun to explore. You can tell he cares about the food and the customer experience. Moms got the cheeseburger with fries and I got the bbq burger. The fries didn't make it back to the hotel. Crispy, hot, perfectly seasoned, light oil. No ketchup needed. We tore through them in the car. Moms loved her cheeseburger and the bbq sauce on my burger was well balanced and complimented the other toppings. my burger, however, was a bit dry and under seasoned. The toppings carried it and, truth, after those fries there was enough to certainly fill ya up. We'd definitely go back. Good late night option.
