Finally got to try Men-ya Inoichi Ramen at Mississauga. The layout of this place was very nice…read more Once we got to our table, it felt private and cozy. The service was quick too. We got our food within 5 minutes from ordering. We ordered the Chicken Cutlet Omurice (4/5), Spicy King Akao (4/5), Croquette (3/5). The Chicken Cutlet Omurice was filling. The cutlet's breading was different to the usual ones we've had. The curry sauce as well. It tasted a lot like a home-cooked meal. The Spicy King Akao was a bowl of heartwarming ramen. The noodles were bouncy with a perfect chew to them. It wasn't as spicy as I wanted it to be but they do have chilli sauce on each table. The meat had a nice char to them giving this ramen a hint of smokiness. The Croquette was crispy on the outside and the potato inside was smooth. Overall, the portions were decently filling. They also have Cotti Coffee in the same restaurant which was nice.

But Men-ya looked good and I can't say no to ramen, so we returned recently to try their offerings. I'm always drawn to anything on the spicy side, so obviously I ordered the Spicy King Akao. It arrived a short time later and the broth was solid (and also fairly spicy). It perhaps didn't have that deep depth of flavor I associate with the best bowls of ramen, but it was quite tasty nonetheless. The various other components were good, with the exception being the three pieces of pork belly. It had this gamey, leftovery flavor that I found really off-putting. I ate one bite and didn't bother with the rest. It was inedible. Other than that, though, I enjoyed the food and the ambiance. The service was great, too.

Stephania's Pierogies offers at least a dozen flavours - BOTH savoury and sweet! A bag of approx. 2 dozen pierogies is $6. The Polish lady who was working there was proud to say that they use real cheese, no jams are in the sweet dumplings, just crushed fruits. On my way out, another Polish customer was walking in, so that definitely added to the authenticity! Pierogies were really good! Much better than the run-of-the-mill pierogies available at your grocer's freezer. Starsky's carries these pierogies for $6.99, so it's slightly cheaper at the "outlet". Will stop by again and maybe try the sweet ones? They sort of freak me out tho.

I love the traditional sauerkraut series, but also the sour cherry and strawberry and blueberry look nice. Even the generic potato, cheese, and bacon pierogies which are common throughout Canada are taken to the next level by Stephania's. Good price and the women are always nice. Worth the stop, stock your freezer with a few bags and have European comfort food on your table in 15 minutes. I like to serve savoury ones with caramelised onion, bacon, and sour cream but good enough to enjoy plain or with butter. I serve sweet ones with powdered sugar and a sweet sour cream and cream cheese topping. I even bring these when I visit my grandmother in America and it's a nostalgic experience like she and her mother used to make. Cash Only!

Nice and clean inside, the staff was friendly and very helpful with the menu. I decided to get a karaage side dish and a bbq pulled pork sandwich. The fried chicken was nicely seasoned and complimented with the mayo dip. The bbq pulled pork was very tasty but was a bit messy to eat with the sauce and the bun. Overall, I think this place is good and would love other things on the menu especially their milkshakes.

Mind you the reviews were all old over a year ago. Since COVID I do noticed most restaurants quality post COVID has gone down. Ambiance: It's pretty small with a few tables. Decor is pretty cute and modern. Also super clean with one unisex washroom. You order at the counter and seat yourself like a fast food place. Service: Service was good. The lady took our order and the food came pretty quick. We also got there at 1:30pm so it was empty. Food: We ordered a easy as pie milkshake which is like you apple pie in a milkshake! Pretty cool idea. The pics on the website looks great. However in reality it didn't look like the website pic at all. Just white milkshake. There are tiny chunks of apple/ cookies and a hint of cinnamon. But overall tasteless and not sweet. It's was like I was drinking ice milk with some texture. I was not impressed. We only took a couple of sips and it left a weird after taste so we didn't end up finishing it To share we got the Kimchi poutine. It was essentially fries that were not that crispy soaked with Kimchi and some mayo on top. It was ok a little underwhelming. The 3 sandwiches we got were different so we can try them all: 1. Sriracha honey Karaage chicken sandwich. The chicken was a bit soggy maybe from the sauce. The bun was fresh. The lettuce inside was a bit wilted. 2. Pho beef banh mi sandwich. The beef was a bit dry and the banh mi was tasteless with no flavour 3. Bbq pull pork sandwich. It was sweet and flavourful but again too much sauce made the sandwich a bit soggy. Pricing is fair. But probably won't come back. For $50 I can get better food elsewhere.

Walking in, we were greeted with a smile. The interior of the restaurant was spacious with a private feel since they had areas sectioned off from one another. We ordered the Japchae (5/5), Boneless Yangnyum Galbi (4/5), Pork Belly (4/5). Japchae was delicious with a hint of smokey flavour to it. The noodles were chewy and complemented well with the savoury flavours of bulgogi. The vegetables added a nice crunch to every bite. The mushrooms added a chewy and fun texture to the dish. Boneless Yangnyum Galbi was so tender. Its marinade was on the sweet side which we weren't really a fan of but we still enjoyed the dish. Pork Belly was also tender. It was thinly sliced which was quite a let down since we typically prefer pork belly sliced a bit thicker. The BBQ we ordered came with two bowls of rice and lettuce (non-refillable), ssamjang and sesame oil with black pepper and salt for dipping, and some side dishes that were refillable: kimchi, bean sprouts, cucumbers and sweet potato. The overall quality of the ingredients, especially the meats, were great. It was pretty telling how much the cooks enjoyed prepping and cooking the dishes. This place is on the pricier side which is reasonable for the quality of their food. The portions are also reasonable for their price-points. I'd come back on a special occasion and/or when I'm craving japchae. The servers we had were attentive, checking in every so often to clear our dishes and change our grills.

Service was great, the staff were super kind and really quick to help us out whenever we needed something. It's a little on the pricier side, but honestly that's pretty standard for Korean BBQ, and the quality here makes it worth it. Easily in my top 3 Korean BBQ spots in Mississauga.
