    $11.99 - Mirza Ghasemi (Pureed charcoal-broiled eggplant)
    Barron Cedric T.

I will put it right out there at the start. The food sizes are massive. Most meals come out in big serving plates topped with a rice mound surrounded by an assortment of side dishes. There is always that initial visual impact of being served that aesthetically-pleasing, enormous rice meal. The meals, big as they are, should be sufficient for 2 people to share. It will be even good enough for 3 people who are light eaters. The rice comes in 2 types and there is also some butter available to lather onto the rice. I personally do find it a little gimmicky and the meal sizes just a product of clever visual marketing. Most of what makes the whole portion sizes big is made up of rice which is not really a high value product item. The actual food itself or the protein while more than the typical meal elsewhere, is still not proportionate to the amount of carbohydrates that you get here. Later on in the meal, you would naturally get full fast if you try to balance out eating the food portions with the amount of rice served. We ordered the Baghali Polo & Lamb Shank ($25.99), Ghemei (Veal) Stew ($18.99), and the pureed eggplant dish Mirza Ghasemi ($11.99). The eggplant is highly recommended to have for starters. The cubed veal stew that we ordered pairs well with the saffron basmati rice. Their stew dish also comes with potato chips on the side to add some crunchy texture to the meal experience. I personally did not like how the lamb shank came out. I find it a a little undercooked. The muscle fibers of the thick meat chunk was not tender enough for my liking and the meat did not properly hold onto the rich flavors of the sauce it was cooked with. The whole dining experience was excellent. Our servers were very nice and polite. There were Persian decorations in the space, and some traditional music playing in the background.

I've been here 6 times and it never disappoints! Food is always on point and delicious, service is amazing and the place is kept clean. I'm definitely a regular now! Highly recommended!

    Mixed koobideh

Ordered takeout from here - mixed koobideh plate which came with a ground beef, ground chicken, grilled tomato, rice, salad and a drink. The value was really good because the portion was huge and it was $18.99 for all that. The guy at the takeout counter was very friendly and the whole ordering experience was smooth. They texted when my order was ready so I didn't have to wait around inside. The rice was plentiful and fragrant. The ground beef was better than the chicken one. The salad was average. They have a patio which looked really nice.

the service was fast, friendly, and attentive. The food itself was the highlight--every dish we ordered was so fresh and incredibly flavorful . A great spot to get a high-quality Persian meal without breaking the bank, as the prices are very decent. One thing to note for newcomers to Persian cuisine is the generous portion sizes, especially the rice. We learned quickly that one order of rice is more than enough for two people to share. It's a small detail, but a helpful tip for a first-time visitor. Overall, a great restaurant that I would definitely recommend.

They have limited parking spots available on the side of the restaurant and there are 6 tables available for dine in. The staff and the owner are friendly. When we arrived, all the tables were full and had to wait for 5 -10 minutes for our table to get ready. But it seems like most of their customers order for takeout. We ordered a Family Package 3 and upgraded our drinks to homemade Doogh for +$2.5. It was served one platter of rice, one platter of kebab (1 Barg, 1 Chicken Leg, 2 Koobideh) and olives, pickles, jalapeños and raw onions. Kebabs were tender and juicy; I really liked Barg Kabab. My only comment is that some pieces of chicken Kebab weren't fully cooked.

I was craving for kebobs and found this place. I was surprised for the servings, it's huge.., 1 serving is good for two people. I even take home half of it. Food tastes so good. The lamb meat is so soft that it falls off from the bones. It's small place and busy. Parking is limited. Am coming back again.

If you are aiming for healthy eats, then this is the place to hit up. Its in the downtown core and is accessible. They also offer a killer Portuguese Tart to wrap up a meal! CONs Unfortunately, this is where it goes off the rails a bit. Some of the cons to the location is that the price point isn't in line with other similar locations in the area. I get more salad/rice bowls from Salus just up the street for $5 cheaper. There is no differentiator between the two on this level. I think its reflected in the customer presence as well as I've rarely seen the location filled at lunch. I would say the return for a $20 rice bowl, the amount of rice and protein provided was concerning and miniscule in comparison to competitors in the area. The last con I have is that the location doesn't operate in cash which may be uncommon these days, but it can be annoying to those who do and don't have alternative ways of paying. The food is fine, but comparable and cheaper options are available nearby. I have no compelling reason to return here and that is one of the issues I face when I think about this location. Give the public something different or at a more competitive price to succeed.

The place is setup really well to get people in and out in no time. There was only 1 person working when I came in but it was pretty empty. The staff came up and gave me a run down of how things work and I let him know that I was set on the Sante Fe bowl. He whipped up my order in no time and was really friendly. We had a chat about the food there and what he liked. It didn't even take 2 minutes and I was paid and out of there. I headed back to my place and have to say, I enjoyed the bowl more than I thought I would. Glad I tried it, would come back to try something else. I've actually had Brasa previously many years ago for a Yelp event but this time I decided to stop by the Queen St. location to grab dinner. Their menu boasts unique flavours where ingredients are fresh and nutritious. I decided to order a bowl from their phone app where my order was made in about 15 min. Upon arriving at Brasa, the space is accessible where the cashier/food counter area is to your right. On the left there is bar seating where you could enjoy your items there. I mentioned to staff that I was there to pick up my food where it was already made. In terms of food, I ordered the tuna ceviche bowl (Organic tricolour Peruvian quinoa, marinated tuna, avocado and sweet potato blossoms, two types of Peruvian corn, finely sliced red onion) which cost around $17. I had the bowl for dinner and it felt super healthy with the quinoa, avocado, and tuna! The ingredients tasted great together and the crunchy corn added a crunchy textural element to the bowl. Overall, a healthy alternative in the Queen/University area!
