    We are in town for a few days to come shred shred. So after driving all the way from Detroit, unpacked the car into the airbnb. We decided to just go and grab some dindin in town. So we decided to come here for some meat on meat action. The Meatery Sampler was pretty good. The hubby and I shared it with an order of The Smoke Poutine. There was definitely plenty of food to go around. We even ended up boxing up the rest of the potato sticks with gravy. I would totally do this joint again if given the chance. Definitely a nice place to eat, drink and be merry. I think you'll enjoy it as well. Thank you so much for reading my review. I hope this helps with your decision making experience.     The BBQ here is so good. Faves are the wings, pulled pork and brisket. The ribs for us were tasty, but not tender, and definitely not fall off the bone. My baked potato with pulled pork, cheese and bacon was drool worthy and HUGE. The service was friendly, but not very attentive and really quite slow. It would be great if they offered gluten free buns, as I'd love to try the burgers and sandwiches.

    NO STAR RATING You Thought Your Misdeeds Were Warranted? My husband and I are on vacation here in Collingwood, Canada. On July 27, 2024 we decided to try The Smoke, a restaurant in Collingwood, Canada. Upon arrival we were greeted and seated. APRIL was our server. We placed our order however when the food came it was not hot and SHE forgot our frites. The entire time she attempted to be friendly but she purposely forgot to provide the things we requested (straws, frites, a to-go bag). Then, SHE came with the bill which came to $180.11. SHE gets the credit card reading machine which rejects my card at least 4 times. I smiled, how was this possible when I had just used it at two other stores. So, my husband used his card several times and the same thing happened. The payment transaction became really interesting when APRIL said she could not accept United States cash, as we had not converted to CAD. SHE said she was told that she could not accept cash (dollars). We were disappointed to say the least. Finally APRIL returns saying she could accept our dollars!First of all, We are human beings, 2nd of all we happen to be African-American! I would never recommend this place to anyone. As world travelers, we are hospitality and food critics with thirty plus years of experience and education. While the food was marginal the service degraded our total experience at The Smoke.     Good food, but bring back the bacon wrapped onion rings!!!!!!

    BBQ restaurants are a dime a dozen, but there are a few that stand out from the rest. My main objective to going to this place was I read a couple food articles and blogs that talk about their unique menu. What caught my eye was a picture of onion rings wrapped with bacon!!! I finally get a chance to go here after Blue Mountain, and I find out from the waitress that they took the bacon wrapped onion rings out of the menu!!!!!!!!!! Of course, I chose to eat BBQ for lunch, but the onion rings were the main factor to my verdict to going here... The waitress was very accommodating regardless of my shock and she had a sweet attitude that is very important in this business. Anyways, I ordered the pork rib rack with tortilla soup and BBQ beans. All was good, but I wished they bring back those onion rings. I will be back!!

    The nachos and drinks were really good highly recommend. The sampler, the brisket was a bit tough. The spice level needs to be fixed. The smokin hot is definitely not spicy at all.

    I never pass up a chance to eat at "The Smoke" A business call brought me out to Collingwood. It's always a struggle to figure out what to eat, because there really are so many great choices. Normally, I would get the three meat sampler and take half home, but tonight, I am having the spicy sweet potato fries with smoked cheddar, and bacon. That and a pound of wings. The beauty of eating here is that Can (the owner and chef) caters to people who have dietary restrictions. I am a celiac, but they make many things gluten free, and fries and sweet potato fries are also a safe food for many of us to eat. Overall an over the top experience!

    STAPLE NEEDLE IN THE COLESLOW

    There is a STAPLE NEEDLE in the coleslow. My friend almost swallow it. The waitress promised that the owner would call back the next morning, but we didn't receive the call back so far. I guess that they don't care about the food safety and they don't even realize how dangerous this can be. Imagine if it was a kid eating this, it could be fatal. Besides, the brisket was extremely chewy and salty, also small portion. Regret that I didn't take a pic of it, you can literally tell how dry it is from the look. Would never eat here again.

    Delicious BBQ, good quality meat,huge portions with great prices. The Smoke Sampler was enough to feed two and then some! I had the ribs (smoky bbq sauce), wings (spicy bbq sauce), and the burger. Ribs and wings were absolutely fantastic but the burger, not so much (the meat was really dry and there was nothing special about it). The ribs and wings were extremely juicy and the meat quality was on point. They state that they don't use frozen meat and that appears to be the truth. One quick way to check is to look at the colour of the bone. If it's been frozen before and then fried, the bone colour becomes a bluish dark colour. Whereas for non-frozen meat, the bone stays a white-ish colour. They have anther location in Vaughan (I believe). It's a bit far from where I live but I would definitely go back to the location in Collingwood when I visit Blue Mountain in the winter! My one downside was the number of flies flying around. I know it's pretty hard to avoid in the middle of summer with pounds and pounds of meat and sauces lying around, but it really did annoy me a lot during the meal. I'm sure it won't be a problem in the winter, but not so sure I would go back in the summer.

    I got the meat platter, with ribs, pulled pork and wings. Ribs are really good, the meat comes right off the bone and the sauce is flavourful but not overpowering. Pulled pork is nice and juicy, wings are tender. We ordered a coleslaw and the double cheeseburger soup for the sides. The coleslaw is definitely above average, the sauce is not too rich and the cabbage is crispy, this combination will not tire you out. The soup could be more flavourful, but it had meat in it so I am not complaining~ Portion is good for two people, service is good!

    This restaurant is really famous for locals and listed as one of the best restaurants available in the area. When you walk inside you will notice a lot of awards for the ribs and sauces they use for bbq. We came in a party of 40 ppl. The restaurant was pretty spacious and had more then enough room to accomdate us. Me and another ordered the ribs and the chicken. I was very much looking forward to the ribs as i heard such good things. I have to say that the sauces were good as they place sauces at the table for you to use. So you can try all of them. They were pretty unique. However when we got to the ribs. Unfortunately im not sure if its because we had a large party or such. But the ribs were very overcooked. And the meat was dry and rough. Instead of tender. This was a major disappointment for me. As i was hoping for it to be better. The sides with sauces was decent. And they had a lot of choices for you to pick. The chicken at this place was not bad. It was not over cooked. And a noted is if a group of 6 or more they charge mandatory 17 percent tip. The restaurant had a few speciality ice creams such as a bacon rum ice cream we tried and it was unique however i feel the ice cream is better without the bacon as the flavours dont really work well together. Overall the dining experience was nice. But they simply lost 2 stars because the ribs in which they are famous for was overcookedand dry. Something you would not expect from a rib restaurant that is focused on it

    OVERPRICED, OVER RATED, UNDERCOOKED ! 4 of us visited thesmoke and we all ordered burgers. We were very excited in anticipation. When they arrived, they presented well. However the first bite was a big disappointment. Out of the 4 burgers, only 1 was cooked properly. The waiter advised the meat was red in the middle from the smoke. However when we showed him the blood dripping out of the meat, he didn't know what to say. Ground meat dripping blood only means one thing, it's not cooked properly. In addition there was alot nervy filaments in the burger, probably because they push whatever they can through the meat grinder. Look at the blood soaked bun, absolutely nasty ! Don't believe what they say about the meat being red because of the smoking ! My husband has a $20,000 Kalamazoo smoker & grill and we know a good smoke. We wound up leaving most of what we ordered, and ultimately visited another restaurant. The dinner was a business expense so we weren't too concerned about the bill. thesmoke is officially the worst burger in Canada !!!
