Enjoyed my dinner at Bent Taco! I was looking for a place with a casual feeling and good food and found it here. My partner and I ordered street corn as an appetizer, and 6 tacos total; the meat and potatoes, chicken and Baja fish. Eat the Baja fish first so that you can get it at it's warmest and crispiest moment. Everything was seasoned deliciously and was saucy. Can get quite messy so be sure to come with clean hands ;). Our favourite was the meat and potatoes, followed by the Baja fish. The service was great, quick and helpful servers. Lastly, this place can get quite busy, so be sure to book a reservation or be prepared to eat outside on the patio. I can imagine this place being wonderful and lively in the summer, we'd definitely come again! read more

Our family has been going to bent taco for a number years. Tonight, we had a reservation for a large group. They told us we had a limited time, upon arrival. They brought our drinks well after our food was delivered to the table, rished our food to the table, with nachos coming after the tacos, rushed us out the door and asked us if we anted dessert to go with our bill. Let's not forget - we had a reservation! It's not as if we didn't order appetizers, entrees, drinks. We were not a small bill!!!! I have never felt more unwanted at a restaurant. We've been to the restaurant since it opened quite regularly. I have never been treated so poorly!! Super disappointed. The quality of food doesn't outweigh being treated like a second class citizen. read more

Bent Taco is a great spot with a fun vibe to grab casual food and drinks in Collingwood. Along with their tacos, Their "tot supreme" is a must, as are their delicious cocktails. If you visit during the summer months, they have the cutest patio. It's not a huge place and very popular so be sure to reserve ahead. read more

Excellent tacos! Had 1 of each and oh so worth it . The server was fantastic and the patio is so adorable! The decor on the washroom's door from the movie Family Vacation is so cool as you also hear the theme song Hollywood playing. Highly recommend. read more

Thanks for the recommendations of fellow Yelpers, otherwise I would have missed this wonder place in Collingwood. During my recent short visit, I determined to try this place and my family love Mexican food. First attempt was a fail because I didn't expect the place could be that packed on Friday evening and needed 30 minutes wait. I like they have a Wait List system using SMS; the wait actually turned out only 20 minutes but we already sat down at another place. Next day, we decided to go again and arrived shortly after noon time and the restaurant already half full. I am so glad for my decision. We enjoyed all the food. Tacos - Baja Fish, Meat & Potatoes OG Fish is very fresh and juicy. Very flavourful and the toppings and sauce are the highlight. Portion is generous. Must try items. Beef Brisket Burrito Bowl I love the beet and coconut rice; brisket is tender and juicy. Watermelon chopped salad Well balanced flavours and texture. It is very refreshing appetizer Cubano & Chips Very nice ham and cheese in the milk bun. The chips are so delicious too I will definitely come back if I am in the area. Their food is better than many Mexican places in GTA!! read more

Ordered crisp cauliflower burrito and Meat & Potatoes Kit from the take out menu. The fried cauliflower burrito is a really good vegan dish, texture and flavour both excellent, 5/5. The meat & potato kit is reasonable, flavour is good but too salty, 3.5/5. The take out service was quick and very organized. read more

Was in town for our department offsite meeting & a bunch of us had dinner here. I have some food sensitivities so I'm not sure what did me in as I tried a variety of things. I had the chips & guacamole, and the beef burrito bowl with coconut rice & lime vegan crema. Everything tasted good. But towards the end of the dinner things weren't sitting well in my tummy. Ended up losing my meal. I suspect it was the vegan crema in my burrito bowl. Sometimes fake cheese makes me sick. It's too bad because I did enjoy the food. And the restaurant is really nicely decorated. The servers were also very good. Even though I got sick next time I'm in town I would try them again. I was the only one to get sick in a group of six people. So don't judge this place just by my review. But if you have serious food allergies just be aware & ask them to modify for you. read more

We were staying overnight in nearby Duntroon and ended up here for a late lunch after a nice walk around Sunset Park in Collingwood. Love love love the decor and art vibe here - so cool/hipster/fun! We snagged a nice table at the corner of their patio, enjoying some amazing weather (while we still can!). We ended up ordering a few drinks plus the chips/guac/salsa/queso to start. Love how they serve the Tecate beer with salt on the can (so smart!) and a lime on top. Super refreshing! One person in our party ordered the Drunk in Love cocktail and it was amazing (she let me have a sip lol). Tasted just like only watermelon juice but had gin in it - dangerous, in a good way. Since we weren't really in a rush when we stopped by we didn't worry too much when our tacos seemed to take a longer than usual expected time. Our waitress came over and apologized stating she completely forgot to ring in our order but brought more chips/guac/salsa on the house. All good! I opted for the fish tacos and they were so so good! Loved the crunchy bits of apple on top of the taco - a very nice addiiton! My bae selected the meat and potatoes tacos and said they were some of the best he's ever had. Overall everyone was really happy with their meals. If we weren't stuffed we would have tried an ice cream sandwich - they looked amazing! One thing to note - this place does not serve authentic Mexican fare however the food is totally delicious and worth checking out! read more

Friends have been to Collingwood and have suggested to try Bent Taco. Fiancé and I were in the area last night and decided we wanted some Mexican food. The restaurant isn't on the Main Street but rather off on a side street, but it was full of people on a Thursday evening. The ambiance is very relaxed and everyone seemed to be enjoying their stay. We were famished so we decided to order several things. First, we started off with their General Tso chicken burrito, then we had the baja fish taco, meat and potatoes OG, chicken tinga and the k-town steam bun. We also had one of their non-alcoholic drinks...I want to call it Piñata but I can't remember what it's called. It had cucumber juice, agave and lime I believe..? Omg, let me start off with the burrito. Like, if you come here and don't try it, you're doing yourself a disservice. The flavour combinations and textures are incredible. We split ours in half for both of us to try it, next time...I'm not sharing. The tacos were pretty good. I personally loved the steam bun, whereas my finance preferred the meat and potatoes. The meat and potatoes had this interesting topping that was kind of like crystallized potatoes, definitely pretty cool. Overall, the tacos were good, but I've had some tastier ones. Ingredients were fresh for sure and I'd definitely try their other ones. I'll be honest, they may have been overshadowed by their cousin the burrito. Also, their hot sauce was really good! So good that we bought two bottles to take home. Definitely ask for it if you want a nice kick. Overall, service was awesome. Really friendly staff and quick food prep. Oh and they give you a penny to use at their entrance to get cinnamon chew candies when you pay! Loved it! read more

Despite the name, Bent Taco is not a pure Mexican joint. It serves fusion cusines and is doing a fine job. In addition to Mexican fares such as fish tacos, tortilla, ceviche, burritos, etc., the menu also features Kalbi beef, Korean Fried Chicken, General Tso Chicken, Mac and Cheese, Meat and Potatoes, etc.. We ordered fish tacos and ceviche. The tacos were delicious and relatively true to its Southern Californian roots. I said "relatively" because they felt healthier/less oily than its siblings. The ceviche was one of the most successful Mexican/Asian fusion dishes I have ever had: ahi tuna (fresh), coconut rice (fragrant and delicious), edemame, salad, soy lime dressing and sesame oil. It reminded me of Poke bowls yet it was less Asian and more Western than poke bowls. I recommend it. Like what another Yelper said, I regret not ordering more. I am curious about the Fried Chicken and the Cubano on milk bun. Pricing is not the lowest, and the portion is not generous, but both are in line with the offerings in Collingwood village. We shared dishes, so bill per person was lowered. If you want something other than pizza and BBQ meat, give Bent a try. read more

The Margaritas were very good and nice variety of Tequila available. The nachos and guacamole were ok but the salsa could have been better. Interesting takes on the traditional taco. Ironically, according to our waitress, the most popular option is still the Baja fish taco. (Yawn) But with offerings like the chorizo beet tostada taco, a crispy, creamy creation, or the chicken tinga taco, or even the ubiquitous buffalo cauliflower in taco form, why not explore something new? If you really want to get off the the beaten taco path, I would suggest the Kalbi Steam Bun which is really not a taco at all all but pretty darn good. Soy and ginger seared pork with kimchi and pea shoots wrapped in a bao bun is as far from a taco as you can get while still keeping with the general vibe of a taco. Worth a taste. If you're looking for authentic Mexican, keep driving south. But if you're feeling adventurous and want to experience something a little different, drop into Bent Taco. read more

Given LA is our second home,, we have been lucky to have some of the best Mexican ever. Having said this, Bent Taco is right up there with some of the best. Cute and delicious place in Collingwood! We were looking for a quick bite near the Blue Mountain Resort, and stumbled upon this taco place. The place is decorated with dainty trinkets, and each table has a succulent. These little things just add to the experience! We ordered 3 of the Baja Fish taco and 3 of the Meat & Potatoes taco. They are priced at $6.50 each or $16.50 for three of the same type. The battered cod in the Baja Fish was a generous piece (I'm not a big fan of fish nuggets in my taco), and I loved the touch of apples with each taco. The apples made the overall taco lighter and refreshing. The chipotle braised short rib from the Meat & Potatoes was soft and saucy, and the sprinkle of hickory sticks added a good crunch/texture to the taco. I loved the beet crema in the taco as well. I kind of regret not ordering more food or starters like chips with guac since we were so amazed by the tacos... Always next time! If you're looking for a good meal in Collingwood, this is the place to visit - it lives up to the 4 stars reviews! read more

This place came highly recommended from both locals and tourists so we had to try it out! We made reservations on a Thursday night for a party of five. I am very glad we did as the place was almost full when we left around 7 PM or so and customers were still coming in. We shared the nachos with guac and sour cream to start. Super fresh and yummy and it came about 5 minutes after ordering. I then had the Kalbi Beef Bao taco and Baja Fish taco. I honestly thought it wouldn't be enough but they were super filling. To be honest, the kalbi beef wasn't the best one. The beef was not tender enough and the sauce overpowered the flavours. The fish taco was amazing, however. One of the best fish tacos I had! The fish was still nice and warm after being out on the table for about 10 minutes and it was fried to perfection. Amazing service and great food! Need to come back for more. :) read more

Acting on a recommendation, we tried two times to come here before snagging a seat at lunch time today. What a delight! Service was wonderful and attentive. But the tacos! Baja fish, Crispy Cauliflower and Mushroom torta. This fish taco isn't greasy and quality and flavour of the fish was perfect. The only time I've had better was fresh of the dock in Key West. Crispy cauliflower - best I've ever had - crisp, light, fresh, tasty. The mushroom torta might haunt my dreams forever. Mom is celiac and had a number of options available - corn tacos, chick pea flour for the crispy cauliflower and the tater tot option. She ate the smashed beet salad and the beef short rib with tots. She says - "not frozen crap tots, not greasy balls of gunk!" The smashed beet salad was outstanding. I suppose the best compliment is that upon leaving, we booked two more reservations... for this week, including Mother's Day. read more

Great atmosphere at this trendy but casual taco place! We came for lunch and grabbed the last four seater table on the patio. Food was really good - we tried the beef and fish tacos and the short rib burrito. Not overly greasy and with great sauces and condiments - this is a good spot for light but filling Mexican food. I had the ice cream sandwich for dessert which was huge and so decadent (maybe too sweet)! Definitely one to be shared. Service was great, and they gave us pennies at the end to use at the tamale dispenser they have in the front which was a cute touch. read more

Very good fresh nicely done Amazingly good. I'm Fact I put this restaurant against any Mexican restaurant anywhere in North America. It's good enough to be on the Food Network can't wait to come back. The best homemade habanero hot sauce you'll ever eat in your entire life. 10 stars. My only fear is that might not be able to get back in after this review as I expect this place to rsvp only within 24 hours. You don't want to eat here. read more

If I could describe my burrito with one word, it's "bland'. I came here bc I love burritos, and thought I'd give this place a shot due to convenience of location and ambiance. Tried their pork Burrito, which is like their version of pulled pork. For $11, I expected better. We're talking more than Chipotle price, so I expected equally or better. Burrito was full of rice and was almost flavourless. Needs more spice. Not sure if they offered different levels of spice bc I wasn't offered it. read more

The food is simply amazing. Had Salsa and Chips appetizer which also comes with guacamole. Everything was perfect, not too filling and great for sharing for two. Had Avocado and Tots Burrito. Had baked beans, cilantro, lime etc in it. Every bite was delicious and so filling. Couldn't finish it! Atmosphere is great. Dim lighting, bar and table seating, candles on tables. Bottles (refillable) of water kept being delivered to the table too. One of bottles had a bug in it, however, the servers took care of it right away and the front door host even apologized on our way out. He held the door for us too! Nachos are super great. Staff are friendly. Good vibes. Tacos could use more acidity flavour in them.

One star for quick service! We got our food in less than 5 minutes after ordering. However, the FOOD is that STAR OF THE SHOW and if you've had tacos from Grand Electric then you'd be disappointed here. In fact, CHIPOTLE is way better than this place. The chips and guacamole tasted old. Chips were stale and not fried to order. Does not warrant $8. Burrito bowl was BLAND as F! Fish tacos were a mess. Single corn tortilla meant that it will break down. Should be double. They made it too sour because of the sauce WILL NEVER COME BACK read more

Visiting Collingwood by way of Brooklyn New York and had the good fortune of being introduced to Bent Taco. You can't go out your door in BK without tripping over a taco restaurant and I've gotta say Bent beats them all. The food is top notch, the vibe and decor is also on point. Looking forward to enjoying their patio come the warmer months. Luckily, we are staying in town for a few months so we will definitely be back. Having visited Collingwood for several years, we feel like Bent is the kind of place that elevates the whole town. Posted my review and then scrolled and read some of the other reviews...surprised at some of the comments about bland flavors. We had the nachos, beet salad, and tacos all of which were really great. read more

disappointing:( my boyfriend and i are staying at an airbnb for the weekend and this restaurant was (going to be) one of the highlights of our stay... while the food itself was tasty, the portion sizes are underwhelming for the price. the staff were a bit standoffish but still polite! we spent longer waiting for our change than we did eating. really really cute branding and aesthetic, and probably more enticing meals if you're not vegetarian! the patio is lovely and the atmosphere is great. overall the food itself was good, but the wait time and portion to price left us feeling kind of let down. read more

We had an awesome experience here! We were seated on the patio under an umbrella and beautiful string lights. The ambiance could not have been better. We immediately greeted with a bottle of water and our amazing server came over shortly after. She was wonderful! Gave us excellent recommendations, even with regards to where we should continue our evening after leaving the restaurant. We started with the chips and salsa/guacamole. The chips were seasoned to perfection, not your standard chips out of a bag. The salsa and guacamole were also out of this world. We then split four tacos: short rib, fish, cauliflower and beet. Every single one was delicious and we would have ordered each of them again. The short rib was the show stealer and the cauliflower a close second. But again, all delicious. read more

Bent Taco rocked my socks off. The chorizo beet tostada was heavenly, as was their taco special - tempura sweet potato with general tao sauce. Their strawberry margarita went down deliciously after our hike in Blue Mountain. We didn't realize they closed between lunch and dinner. They warned us upon arrival that the kitchen would be closing in 10 mins, but got our orders in right away and let us chill on the patio as long as we wanted. Seriously cannot wait to come back here and stuff my face with tacos. read more

Bent Taco - All the feels - Mexican Near Me - Collingwood, Ontario

If you closed your eyes, the food would taste like cheap tex Mex, but with less flavor. Cool concept, love the decor, and good presentation. The drink menu is concise and well planned, but looks like they stopped there. We tried at least half of the menu and nothing impressed, the flavors are just bland. The brisket was tough, which made the taco difficult to eat. The chili chicken tasted more like cabbage than anything. The ceviche, also pretty flavorless had an unappealing aftertaste. The guacamole was ok though, and their home made hot sauce has a good flavor. The restaurant is also really really loud, needs some acoustic tiling on the ceiling to bring that under control. Lots of potential though, all they need is a restaurant consultant or experienced Mexican chef from the city to come up and fix the recipes and this place would be awesome. read more

Ordered take out twice and was pretty happy both times. Highly recommend the mango/avocado salad, the fish tacos, and the meat and potato taco. Chicken tinga was pretty good, fried chicken wasn't great. Only disappointment was being refused hot sauce with our take out meal. "The policy for take out is you have to buy a retail bottle" was the explanation. Odd to be forced to buy a retail bottle of a condiment that's on every table instead of just giving us a small container on the side. Also felt like nickel and diming after dropping over $100 on our two take out dinners. In any case, we'd go back if we found ourselves in collingwood again. read more

When we arrived, we were curiously left waiting out front while the door man unlocked the front door to go inside and then re-locked it. Another couple arrived and tried to get in. Four of us stood outside wondering what the deal was. The door man came back to let us in while leaving the other, much older couple to wait on the stairs. When we got inside, there were multiple open tables and they weren't even busy. I suspect this is to make the place appear to be busy. That's a cheap way to drum up hype and an accident waiting. The menu seemed like it was cut-and-pasted from other menus that had cohesive themes or were authored by chefs with vision. The ambiance is puzzling. A big picture of Morrissey. Who is a vegan. Yet there's meat on the menu. An irony lost both on management and it's target demographic. Possibly the worst meal I've had since moving to Collingwood more than 12 years ago. I've heard people say "I wish we had a Taco Bell in Collingwood". Be careful what you wish for (at least Taco Bell won't charge you a lot for their equally small portions). The McGringo is a take on a Big Mac. Why bother? Taco Bell and McDonald's are punchlines. Why emulate? Same minced dog food texture to the "meat" (which to say was lukewarm would be kind) and bland flavors. And it seems like a moot point, but there wasn't a lot of it. When your Coca Cola is the best part of the meal, you've been had. The food, presentation and concept are disappointing. What's worse is that Collingwood doesn't have much to offer an 18-25 year old crowd who doesn't really know good food from bad. I look forward to trying whatever ends up in said space once this abomination is gone. read more
