    They're watching me!
    Melissa D.

We smiled or laughed at almost everything in this store. You'll find a gift for anyone or something to spark joy. After a few minutes of browsing, an employee started following me around. I thought she was going to ask if I needed help, but she didn't say anything. It got too crowded, so I went outside to wait with one of my cousins. My sister said she had a great conversation with the owner and how she carefully selected each item. There was so much to find here that we went back a couple of hours later to take a second look. My sister bought me a hilarious book. (I didn't ask, she's just the best!) I ended up talking to the employee who followed me the first time. She was friendly and we laughed when she told me she spends a lot of her check there, and I said I'd probably do the same. You could spend a lot here too. Just follow your budget or have a great time browsing.

This is actually one of the best stores i've ever been to. The selection was great and there truly is something for everyone. Lots of fun, quirky gifts, sort of gag gifts almost. Staff was so friendly, I felt so welcomed.

It's mid November and I've started my Christmas shopping. Every time I'm in downtown Livermore my daughter loves to visit this store. On our last visit she noticed this groovy summer hat and I made a mental note of that. I came back by myself and purchased the hat for her Christmas present. Therapy store gives you therapy when shopping here. There are so many cool gifts.

This store is so cute. I was so excited that Livermore got its own Therapy store, because the one in Pleasanton was supposed to be super cute and have all kinds of fun, unique items and clothing. They had an early bird opening this past Saturday and it was really fun. Super packed and the check out line got really long, but they have a lot of cute stuff for all kinds of occasions. Also their clothes are trendy and really well made. The ladies working the front are very nice and helpful as well!

In my 30+ years of living in this country as an Asian American, this is the first time I felt I was racially profiled. It was subtle but so obvious at the same time... I was taking photos of the store and the shop girl asked me not to. I apologized right away and asked if I had missed a "no photo policy" sign when I entered the store. She said there was no sign but they just don't people taking pictures of the store. I said, "May I ask why?" She replied, "We have our own website and we just want to keep the exclusivity of it." And I asked, "So you don't want me to take pics of your store, share it on my Instagram and tag you on social media?" (I didn't tell her I normally have 3000-5000 views on each of my Instagram posts. Not big but decent viewership). She quickly said, "If you are sharing it on social media, that's fine but we just don't want you to send it to someone else." I was like, what? I was dumbfounded by why she asked me not to take photos from the get-go without asking me what I was going to do with them first? Why did she assume I was doing something fishy without asking me my intention first? Then she quickly said, "We are not singling you out or anything...". Girl, that's exactly what you are doing. My husband was taking photos but no one asked him to stop and he happens to be Caucasian. You either have a no-photo policy or not. You can't just approach me this way assuming I was some sort of industrial spy and selectively decide who can take photos or not. If you don't have a strict policy and would allow it on case-by-case basis for social media sharing, you should've asked me for my intention first instead of assuming I was doing something fishy in your store. It is very distasteful and presumptuous. It's a shame because as an entrepreneur myself I always like to suppprt small businesses but I don't think I will ever step into this store again.

We went in looking for shoes and the staff was quick to attend to us and get us the size we need. Found socks, but not in the right size, toward the back of the store, but we could've made it work. However, up at the front by the registers we were able to find the right size at the last second. The staff was able to accommodate an exchange for the size we were just rung up for and was stoked for us that we found the right size lol. We'll definitely be coming back here for more of my boyfriend's work gear. Thanks for the great experience! Didn't get the girl's name but she had fun colored hair :) we'll be back.

We found that there were two local retailers who sold Brunt Boots. We went to the first retailer and they had Brunt Boots but didn't have the style my husband was looking for. He was over trying on a bunch of boots and was ready to give up. I told him there was one more retailer close by that we could check. Right when we walked into Purpose Built I lived the layout and vibe. My husband a blue collar engineer, so when I started to see all the shirts with logos and imagery tailored towards labors I immediately feel in love. There's even a small area for young kids to play while parents are shopping. He found his boots and the young lady who assisted him was very helpful giving feedback on the boots. He ended up getting a totally different pair than he set out to get. We grabbed a couple of shirts and fun sticker decals, he grabbed an one extra for his Chief. Overall, the Americana feel and the support for laborers, blue collar union workers was awesome. We will definitely be going back. And best of all, my husband loves his Boots!!

After doing a little research, he found Cassara's, and we decided to check it out. We are so glad we did. From the moment you walk in, you know you are in for a completely different and wonderful experience. Tony, the owner, greeted us with a warm smile and great rock music, which immediately set the tone. He sized my husband up right away, listened carefully to what we were looking for, and guided him toward the right fit. He offered thoughtful suggestions without ever being pushy or salesy. It honestly felt less like shopping and more like catching up with an old friend. We talked about suits, music, family, and the event. It was such an easy and enjoyable experience. Once my husband stepped out of the dressing room, Tony immediately made a few chalk marks where he wanted to tailor the suit, told him to get changed, and took care of the rest. A couple of weeks later, we came back for the fitting. The pants were perfect, but I thought the jacket could lay just a little better on my very handsome husband. Tony did not hesitate for a second. He said "no problem," took the suit back, made the adjustments, and had it ready for pickup just a couple of days later. The end result was perfection. My husband looked like a million bucks at his party, and just as importantly, he felt like a million bucks. Tony truly listens and tailors the suit to fit the person, not the other way around. He even added a custom label inside the jacket personalized for my husband, which was such a classy and thoughtful touch. My husband is a stocky guy, sexy and stocky, and Tony tailored the suit flawlessly to fit his body. He was incredible to work with. I honestly wish my husband had more occasions that required suits because we would buy every single one from Cassara's. At the very least, we know that when he needs another suit, this will be the only place we go.

My boyfriend asked me what I wanted to do for our seven year anniversary and of course, I wanted to go shopping. Well, we came to the outlets to go to Yankee Candle. But that's just a tangent... I remembered that they finally finished the renovations and that there were a slew of new shops. When I entered the shop, I noticed how clean and organized it was. Not to mention the salespeople were approachable and not pushy. I beelined it for the pilot bags that were on a shelf in the center of the store, by the registers. They had a burnt orange saddle color and a bright blue. I was going to pick up the orange one but my eyes shot over to the wall along the left when I saw the colorblocked neutral pilot bag in both the small and the medium. Monica walked by to see how I was doing and let me begin my neurotic handbag shopping assessment. My heart stopped because it felt like the stars had aligned so that our paths would cross today. The planets aligned too since they were an additional 30% off the sale price. I couldn't believe my luck. The last thing I wanted to double check was to see where the bags were made. Maybe I've worked with handbags for too long. Maybe I care too much about sourcing. Whatever it is, Monica confirmed that they were made in Italy. From there, I had to decide which size I wanted. It took me a while and when I called my boyfriend in, he was of course no help. When I had decided on the small one, Monica checked and saw that they had another one in the back. After having dealt with handbag sales for so long, I didn't mind either way. But I know that shoppers care and it was really nice of her to bring me that one. Checkout was fast and I want to come back simply because the products are great and the service is excellent! Thank you, Monica! You're the best!

In addition, he inquired about what else we were shopping for, and made some recommendations on some other stores that we could take a look at as well. After an exhausting day looking through the major brands, we found a few accessories that I wanted, but could not find another pair of shoes that I liked. When we returned to Johnston & Murphy, the same salesperson that was working from earlier was still there, and he both remembered me and the pair of shoes he put on hold for me, as well brought out some belts that I could try on. Having remembered our conversation earlier in the day when I mentioned I was also shopping for a new belt. When checking out, my fiancé noticed a very slight blemish on one of the shoes, and the salesperson very kindly buffed and polished both shoes for us without hesitation.
